Mo what? Movember is the time of year when men forgo shaving to rock a full mustache in support of men’s health awareness. The now-familiar November ‘stache is the symbol of support for Movember since 2003. The Movember Foundation has raised millions globally for men’s health initiatives such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, suicide prevention, and other worthy causes. We are proudly supporting Movember and men’s health - we ask you to join us in the fight. Yes, we are speaking to you, ladies. What can you do to help? It’s easy: Become an official Mo Sista. 

THE WHY BEHIND MOVEMBER

Movember is here, and a month-long initiative is not limited to men. As women, we are often the ones to encourage our partners, brothers, and fathers to take an active role in their mental and physical health. As Mo Sistas (how cute is that term?), we’re just as vital to the movement as Mo Bros. 

The Movember Foundation focuses on physical health issues that plague men. Did you know that the average age of a man diagnosed with testicular cancer is 33? Or that one in nine men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime? To date, they have funded over 1,250 men’s health projects globally. They also target mental health matters since men are less likely to seek help if they struggle with depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts. Movember gives us another opportunity to initiate meaningful conversations and support the men we love.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

The history and hype around Movember's reach is no joke, but participation is required to keep the mo-momentum going. To shave or not to shave? That’s the question on men’s minds this month, but luckily, there are plenty of ways to get involved that don’t require a mo. To start, check out Mo Sista for official details and to sign up. Next, get moving. MOVE is a Movember challenge to be active every single day this month. This can be anything from walks or runs in your neighborhood to fitness classes - whatever suits your schedule and lifestyle.
