Perfectly MatchedI've been getting my hair colored professionally for many years. I've decided to take a chance and try it myself again as I did when I was younger. I felt comfortable doing the process as my mother was a hair stylist and she taught me how to do root touch up's and color hair. I took the leap with trying eSalon color because I kept seeing ads and finally read good reviews, not on this site, but other sites about home hair coloring. After going through the color choices I picked one that ended up being EXACTLY what I was looking for. It is the right amount of medium brown and covered very evenly on my head. My gray hair is very resistant to coloring but eSalon color covered my gray hair with a nice golden color that makes the gray hair appear like highlights. There was also a generous amount of product to use, enough that it would cover someone who has long hair. AMAZING!! BUY IT!Ok, so I waited about a week after dying my hair to write a review. I wanted to see how the color held up after a couple washes. I AM OBSESSED RIGHT NOW. I have always bought boxed dye and hoped for the best. My hair would be dry and my color would fade quickly. It was awful. I quit dying my hair about two years ago, and was skeptical about doing it again. I came across eSalon and decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed! The entire kit was fantastic. The hair dye didn’t burn or make my scalp itch, the stain guard smelled wonderful and worked perfectly. It was the first time I’ve dyed my hair and didn’t also dye my forehead and cheeks haha. The dye washed out easily... I have long, thick hair and usually I spend about forty-five minutes just getting the dye out. This took about 20, if that. The shampoo!! HONEY. The most luxurious shampoo I have ever used outside of a salon. I felt like I was in a commercial or something. The conditioner was amazing, too. My hair is pretty damaged from my thyroid issues when they got out of whack, and my hair feels and looks healthy. I will never buy boxed dye again. Only issue: I used Demi-permanent, and it dyed a few spots in my white tub. They’re already fading away, but definitely still visible. I would spray down the entire shower with water first so that it’s all soaked and the dye has less of a chance to stick. However, it’s totally worth it still. Exact match of my natural auburn shade (before my gray)First time I dyed my hair no one noticed. That's a huge compliment. Although I am an adult, my mom has always said she would kill me if I changed my hair color. She was convinced that there is no exact match for my shade of auburn. First time dying my hair by myself*I was too nervous to try, and kept putting it off. Finally, my roots got too long and I opened the box. Everything was neatly packed and easy to read. I appreciated the sticker for the instructions, to stick to my mirror. Every step was straight forward, and I was probably a bit conservative on using the product on my roots, more on that later. My husband had to help me while I was trying to do the back of my head. All in all, application was easy enough. When I took the product into the shower, things got a little difficult. I found it very hard to breathe while doing the final steps. This is likely because my shower is glassed in, no curtain to let fumes out. I plan to try another shower next time. Once washed and dried, I couldn't believe how good my hair looked. I showed it off for the next couple days...until the grey patch reappeared. Right at the front of my head where I usually have my part, it seems the colour washed right out of the area. easy and FASTI bought this kit as somewhat of an impulse buy knowing that I wanted to go darker with my hair but not wanting to buy the boxed dye at the store. My stylist was very helpful picking out my color and listened to my need of wanting to correct the red tones in my previously dyed hair. Start to finish, this process took me about 45 minutes, whereas in the salon to get my hair dyed takes upwards of 2 hours. I also have a LOT of hair, but one bottle was enough to cover it all (they sent me 2).
