A little unevenI have used eSalon in the past, although it had been a while, so I was excited to use it again. Unfortunately, although the bonus roots and ends bottles supplied more than enough dye for medium/long hair, it came out a bit uneven in tone. My roots came out a bit more auburn and my ends a bit more chocolate/espresso colored. I was hoping for the opposite effect. Perhaps, the roots and ends bottles were mislabeled? I did use it exactly as directed, took the time to part my hair, brushing out each section, applying to each section and setting a timer for each part. Of note, the hair was clean and free of product (I rarely use any product or styling tools). It isn't 'bad,' it is just that I was expecting the opposite effect - darker roots and lighter ends. Although it is probably only noticeable to me, it is not bothersome enough to need to correct through a salon/stylist. Not enough for my thick hairI needed to saturate my mids and ends more but if I had, I would only have been able to do half of my head; I have very thick hair. I like the color, it did well on my roots with how much I was able to apply there and with letting it sit longer. However, the rest of my hair, not so much. The highlights sucked the color up well, but for the most part, I needed more color and to let it sit longer. Didn’t cover my greyThis was my first time using esalon, I love the color, I love the way my hair looks and feels after I used the color but unfortunately it didn’t cover my grey and since the only reason I wanted to color my hair was to cover the grey, I don’t see a reason to buy it again. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
