Instead of going out and buying the necessary tools individually, I love that everything came in the box with the color. Who provides a timer in a color kit? Not one that I know of.
The applicator kit is very helpful for a no mess experience. The plastic clips work well for keeping sectioned hair in place and I like the basin for holding the color formula.
The kit was an unexpected but wonderful addition to the hair color set. There were 4 heavy duty clips, a mixing bowl, a brush, gloves, stain protector and stain remover and shampoo and conditioner. Like, I said everything but the kitchen sink. I was very pleased.
This little gem of a kit made using my eSalon color so much easier to apply. It has everything I need. And the way the clips hold on to my thick hair....I can't explain it. You'd have to see for yourself. I am so glad this kit came with my first shipment. Thank you so much!
I really like this kit. The timer is very handy and convenient. The brush could be a little bit bigger, hair clips won't pull hair. I don't use the little tub, I prefer a bottle to apply hair color. Great purchase.

I was so glad I ordered this for my first color attempt!! You may not have to, but I liked having the "salon" feel to my first time trying this. AND, I have it for all my future colors, too!
So happy I purchased this. Clips were strong, the timer was a nice touch. The brush could have been a bit wider but it was very sturdy, as was the bowl. All in all a great add-on. Much better than bottle application.
I love the brush and bowl because they allow me to even brush up my grey roots and my hair doesn't feel weighed down with color. The brush is great for getting spots cleanly applied. Even the hard to get areas.
Great tools for me. Everything is simple to use and durable. I started using my Echo Dot to keep track of time, but the timer moved to our homework station for the kids, so it's still in use!

Being able to apply color with a brush, just like my stylist at the brick-and-mortar salon, really helped with precision application. Even distribution of color, successful application, and great results.
As it was offered at a discount, I bought this color tools kit with my recent first ever eSalon dye. For all the goodies you get, it's a bargain! AND - the quality of the items is great.
You get 4 large clips to help section and contain your hair while applying the hair color. The clips are pro-quality. Sturdy, smooth to slide into hair but with good inside teeth and grip. My hair is long and thick but these clips coped just fine.
There is a dye applicator brush that has the pointed tail or end which is so useful to section hair into thin slices for applying the color. The brush is high quality and makes putting dye into the hair so much easier! With long hair I need all the help I can get to apply the color evenly all over my hair for a first time all-over coloring. This worked a charm. And it rinses out well too.
Also included is a good sized bowl for the hair color. It has a rubber rim base so it stays put on the bathroom counter, and a nice sized handle that's easy for gloved hands to grip. One inside edge even has little ridges for wiping excess dye off of the applicator brush which was a good feature. A very professional and useful bowl - also great for mixing your allergy patch and strand test dye in 48 hours before full application.
The final item in this kit is worth buying the kit for buy itself.....a countdown timer! It comes complete with a battery, and large digital display - easy to read if you are at all like me and need glasses to clearly see finer details! The buzzer is loud, and it is just so handy to have on hand for accurate timing of your dye processing time.
An added bonus of this timer is a magnetic spot on the back of the unit. This proved handy as you can stick the timer onto a metal surface (like a mirror or vanity surround) and have the timer at eye level and out of the way of your other items.
Fab value that is of great quality and super handy to have so everything you need to complete your dying job has a designated tool!
I've used many different coloring kits, but this is the best by far. Everything in this set is high quality, useful and necessary. I use each piece every time I color my hair and all pieces are easy to clean. I particularly like the feel, grippy bottom and built-in teeth of the coloring bowl. Based on your individual method, you may need additional clips.
