Natural redhead- no change in colorI was really excited to try this product out. Unfortunately it did not work. :( I am a natural redhead with no previous color added to my hair. I purchased a medium blonde color. I did a strand test to see how it would turn out. I applied the mixed color according to the directions provided and waited 30 minutes. When I checked my strand after the allotted time there was no change to my color. I waited an additional 15 minutes and used my hairdryer on the low setting to apply heat. Medium/Dark blondeThis was my first time purchasing through this platform. I typically have golden blonde mixed in with medium blonde. For some reason the team decided to send me a color that gave an allover dark blonde color. I am not thrilled at all. And it did not totally cover the grey. Color Did not color my graysColor Did not color my grays and customer service did not contact me back. This is the worst experience ever! Madison Reed sent my mother an email a week after she colored. She had a minor issue with her color being too dark and they immediately sent her a replacement and told her how to clarify her scalp to prep it for the updated color. Esalon did not do a thing for me even after I wrote to the colorist and I called them. So me thing has changedI have used this product in the past and it worked well... nice color, covered greys, easy enough to use. This is not the same as it use to be. Far from the colour I requestedI was not happy with the colour. It was way too dark, it’s not a light ashy brown but dark and very much on the warm side than being ashy. The customer service is amazing however the products are not. None of the hair dyes performed well, didn’t do any better than the drug store ones, so not worth the money. Didn't work at allMaybe my colour was too dark? I don't know... But I followed all the instructions and nothing changed. It looked brown when I put it on, but the colour rinsed right out when I did the 3-5 min rinse thing. The package was delayed for a month, so maybe the contents lost their effectiveness. I'm mostly disappointed because I had great customer support through out the whole process and really wanted this to work. I guess this would work better if going from light to dark hair. Goal was blonde, result was DARK brown.I really wanted to love this order because the color experiences constantly get such good reviews. I have naturally dirty blonde hair, at about a level 8 when freshly washed and dried. I was hoping to take my natural roots down to my highlighted ends and just have one uniform, and even blonde color. I wanted to add a little bit of warmth, and didn't mind if the result was just slightly darker than my natural color if it still was very blonde-looking. I followed the steps exactly as outlined in the pamphlet and as directed by my assigned colorist, doing the Colorfill first for a short time, then the overall color for just slightly longer. I knew once I rinsed the Colorfill out that it was already way, way too dark. The whole process took about an hour including prep, applications, and washing my hair afterward. The color experience alone would be rated one star. It is nowhere near the level 8.35 blonde that I had requested. I gave it two because the communication and courtesy was great during the ordering process, and hopefully will continue to be great moving forward, especially around what to do now with dark brown hair. HelpDyed my hair last night and after 3o-35 minutes when I washed it, the roots and part of the side were light red and the rest of my hair was brown with reddish as I wanted . My blonde to brown was awfulMy hair had a full head of very blonde highlights making me look very blonde. When I ordered my things for eSalon, they said because my hair was so light, in order to go darker I would have to use a filler before I applied the medium brown color. When I did my step one over my extremely light hair, I waited to five minutes and it was almost black! Crying, I did what the box said and used the step two color application. It was a gold tinted color. Then I realized, THEY MIXED UP MY LABELS ON MY STEP ONE AND STEP TWO. So I look like I put my shiny blonde hair in black tar that was muddy and had no shine. Not happy about the gray coverage and it faded in a weekI followed the instruction exactly but it didn't cover my grays well. Grays are still noticeable and it gave a tint but it was all about it. Then it faded in a week... I probably should have gotten darker color but I thought that's what their colorist for. DullI just colored my hair and I could cry. Its terrible. I requested dark coppery blond. I wound up with a med-light ash brown. I see no copper and just a little gold. More green than gold though. Dried my Hair Out - Never Totally Covered the GrayYour product dried my hair out to the point it felt like straw. I used the product as directed and only colored my roots, so it's not like I colored my whole head every time. It also never truly covered my gray around my temples. The only thing you got right was the color. That's it. I only realized how your product was drying out my hair during the long pandemic when my natural hair felt soft and not dried out. I just stopped my subscription. It will take a year or more to cut off all of the dried crispy hair. I switched to Olia by Garnier and the hair I just colored was soft and not dry, and the gray is TOTALLY covered. That's something I never got with your product. A Little DisappointedI am fairly new to eSalon and have been pleased with your products. However, the recent purchase I received did not include 2 pairs of reusable gloves and it also did not come with the shampoo and conditioner the kit should include. This is the reason for my 2 start rating. I do love the coverage your product delivers however, it is vital to include everything in the kit your customers are paying for. Changes in formula?I'm fairly disappointed with my color this time around. I wanted golden blonde and instead still have very red, nearly orangeish hair. It's not an ugly color, just not what I wanted. Also, it seems like the developer was different. It was thicker and my hair definitely smelled like it had been colored, which before, it never did, one of the things I liked the most about esalon over the years, the lack of that chemical smell. I hope this review isn't public, because that isn't my intention. Items missing.I only recently opened this box as I’ve been in quarantine. When I did, there was only 1 pair of gloves instead of 2. There was no shampoo or conditioner. Didn't lastI was very disappointed with my last color. In the past, the color has covered my grays beautifully for 8-10 weeks. This time the color was too dark for the first week, great the 2nd week and then the grays started to show at my temples. I only wash my hair every 2 days and always use a color safe shampoo, so this was very unexpected. Now my hair is so very faded and gray again. It made me feel like I was given a nonpermanent color instead. Never againThe first shipment took 2 weeks to arrive. The 2 nd shipment got lost in shipping. And after i finally rec’d a replacement which I used tonight, IT IS THE WRONG COLOR I AM EMBARRASSED BY HOW IT LOOKS. NEVER AGAIN. Hair is dry and brittleFirst, when I set up my profile I stated I have very thick hair. The two sample size shampoo is nowhere near enough to wash out the dye. In addition, my hair has been dry and brittle after 2 try’s with your product. Sorry it didn’t work. You need to put another step in with a glaze for conditioning colored hair or something. Promises broken and color exceptionally lacklusterWhen signing up for the service, I took a substantial amount of time to take the color quiz, upload photos and carefully choose a color based upon years of experience coloring my own hair and my personal preferences. A few days later, a color "specialist" called me to say that the color I had chosen would probably not work for me based on the photos I uploaded and suggested another. After speaking for awhile about what I specifically DID NOT want (brassy, yellowish, one dimensional color), I took her suggestion on another color. The package took a full two weeks to arrive. Even as someone who has colored my own hair for 10+ years, I found the instructions to be very sparse and generic. Additionally, my kit only included one set of gloves (instead of the two sets required) that were too small to use. One glove broke as I tried to squeeze my hand inside. Once my color processed, guess what i got? Yep, you guessed it - Brassy, Yellowish, single tone. I regret ever giving eSalon a shot. Not What I wantedI was really disappointed in the formulation. I loved the color in the previous order. A week later I was at the salon and my stylist pointed out that my roots were lighter than my overall hair color. I reached out to have the formulation corrected, not only was the color not what I wanted, but I was charged additionally for adjusting the color for my roots. I am not too pleased for being overcharged and having color that is not remotely what I wanted. It looks terrible! I am not pleased.
