Bottle came leaking. Color too dark.Hi! I decided to try esalon cause I dont have time for real salon now that I have a newborn. My husband received the package and left it on the floor by the entrance. First I noticed the stain on a box. After opening I saw that the small bottle was leaking and everything was in black liquid. There was a stain on the floor too! Anyway I used the product cause I was past due for the hair colour. I requested Dark Brown, but colorists changed it to darkest brown. I was notified of the change but was given only 1 day to react. I have a small baby so I'm slow with response, I replied one day after wanting to keep the color i initially ordered but it was late and the shipment was out. I used it yesterday, my bathroom is in stains. I have black stuff falling off my head to my pillow. Its been years since I did hair color myself at home so stains all over is a drawback compared to salon experience. It did cover grey hair, the roots appear darker than then the rest of my hair though, hopefully it will lighten up with sun and washing. The box is nice,stain guard and stain removal are great add-ons. If you are skilled to do it yourself and not mess everything in your house then you can try it. Good product but...When I decided to buy your product I expect that my hair color will be similar as the color I choose in your page. But I have the same color that I had before use your product. Film on HairIt felt like there was a thick film on my hair, which made it look like I hadn't washed it in a long time. I had to wash my hair 4 times to get rid of the heavy oily look. Not happy1st it gets delivered but I never received it. 2nd I get a new one sent to me, I'm so excited. After following the directions, I can't wait to see the light golden brown hair but to my extreme dissatisfaction there is no hint of light brown or golden. Love coloring at home but....this formulation still makes my hair have a slight reddish tinge to it....strawberry blonde is pretty, but I don't care for it on me. Seemed great on day one; but I saw greys popping up all over after a couple daysSeemed great for a couple of days; but I saw plenty of greys popping up all over after a couple days, looking as if I missed a bunch of hair, which I know I didn't because you couldn't see them when I first did the color. The scent of doing it myself was a bit overwhelming (an ammonia like smell that burns my nostrils). 4th formula and still not covering stubborn graysWhen I started coloring my hair, my grays were short but very noticeable. Used to Love it...I started using this product a while back and I loved the results. I requested a lighter shade and something must've gone wrong with the formula because the quality changed completely. I am now at the point of cancelling my order. I have looked for a way to do so but I cannot find a way online to cancel my membership. The color does not cover my grays anymore. After 2 washes it looks like I never colored my roots. Bad ExperienceWhere do I start? I was happy with speed of service, customization of color and appearance of product I recieved. My disappointment is far greater. My problems started with a long, drawn out ordeal: I expected 2, maybe 3 bottles. Instead I got 2 bottles of color and 2 bottles of developer. This confused me until I clearly read instructions multiple times. I was told to mix bottle of color 1 with a bottle of processor and place on roots for 15 minutes. Then mix bottle of color 2 with second bottle of processor and place on remainder of hair for 10 minutes. Go into shower and add rest of bottle 2, massage through hair (root to tip) and leave on for one minute then rinse. Shampoo with packet provided then condition with packet provided. During coloring, the chemical smell was so bad I had to go outside. The bathroom vent would not get the fumes out fast enough. My eyes watered. Afterward, my hair felt dry and rough even though I used shampoo & conditioner provided by Esalon. I liked the color in the end, but the process is too much. I'd rather get the store-bought permanent color with fruit extract that has very low odor and gives my hair great coverage and shine. Sorry Esalon.com 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. DamagingAlthough, this kit comes with stain guard, and stain remover, it took several days for the stains to fade off of my skin. This product left my hair extremely dry. Not so greatI have been a repeat customer for a couple of years. The last 2 colors - something has not been right. I have had to shampoo my hair immediately after coloring as it felt like something sticky was still in my hair and I had a hard time getting it out. Also my hair is very healthy and during the past 2 months my hair has been very dry and brittle immediately after color and drying for a bout a week. Cant get a cool blondeI tried multiple incarnations of the ashy or cool blonde, specified no orange at all multiple times, but unfortunately each colour came out orange. I have had demi-permanent blonde many times from my hair stylist and it was never orange, but their colour is. My stylist cant understand why I cant get an ashy blonde, since it is easy for her. Also, after six weeks the colour hasn't washed out, it is still orangey. I never do permanent colour, but it looks like I may have to bleach this out if its still there in a month. I tried for months, but each tone looked strawberry (orange) instead of cool ashy blonde. Tired of orangey now. I've been lightening it since november and it's now way way darker then I stated. it's more dark red dark brown very little shine. I asked for the color to have more Auburn tint - without looking Raspberry RedI asked for the color to have a more Auburn tint - without looking Raspberry Red. Well it was not Raspberry red but I saw very little Auburn tint. I am also unhappy about the section of root hair color (about an inch or inch and 1/2) that seems to come out visibly in less than a week. Also, when I signed up, where you can put in a note to the colorist, I noted that I prefer temporary color and asked if I should get temporary instead of permanent color from eSalon. I received no response electronically. When my package was received, there was no acknowledgement of my question in there either, and I received permanent color. The permanent color faded quicker than expected, and I liked the color it faded to after a couple of weeks, but it kept fading. Turn for the WorstI dont know if you changed your formula or what but this does not cover everything anymore. When I receive this hair color I would take it to my hairdresser who made sure it was everywhere. I get out into the sun and I see it does not cover everything. Still some stubborn greyWhile this color was re-formulated for me, with extra grey coverage, and more intense red, it wasnt neither. The color i like well enough, for now.
