Unfortunate outcomeThe color is beautiful but it was everything I requested to avoid. I requested to stay away from red and not too dark. Uneven colourI am very disappointed with the result. While the root color was clearly modified to my request (darker, less copper) and turned out really beautiful, the colour for the length is practically the same as before and now I have two different colors on my head. It's giving me a heavy "outgrown roots" kind of look and I don't like it at all. WasteAlthough I love the color, I’d rather go gray and lose all the waste that comes in the box. I don’t order as often as I used to because I can buy just the color in local salon here, without all the extra “stuff” that goes to waste. An option for JUST the color would be wonderful. When I called about this, I was told to donate the extras to a homeless shelter. Think about that for a minute. Also, gray coverage is difficult. Just like every other store bought color, just more expensiveI specifically asked my "color specialist" for a medium brown that did not turn reddish brown after a couple of weeks. Sure enough, I spent twice as much on this scam and the exact same thing happened. Unfortunately, I forgot to cancel (the same scam everyone uses, "try it for $10!" but that mistake is on me). Turns out that there is a way to prevent this, a real colorist did my hair and, for the first time ever it didn't turn red. Apparently, anyone who has ever taken a color class knows how to do this. This product is garbage, it faded faster than even the store brands that I have purchased over the years for less money and they must have poured the same boring medium brown formula into the bottle marked "custom designed just for you!!!!!" Don't waste your money. Go to a real colorist who will then tell you exactly how to mix your color at home -- mine did, but I go back to her because unlike this ridiculous company, I trust her to take my concerns seriously. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. DisappointedI've very disappointed in this company. I paid high price in the end only receiving start up kit. Never my rest ongoing. So I called speak to someone an I was told they sent out the product an this. Was there last time they will be sending out free stuff to me. And I said man that's not what I'm expecting I want to be getting what I paid for. And as it stands still the second time around nothing has come to me except for one round of the product that I paid for way more. A lot darker than I thoughtI was so excited to receive my colour box last night, so of course I had no patience and did my hair last night. However, I was in shock after washing my hair because it is a lot darker than in the pictures its like a dark brown not a medium brown with golden bits. So a little disappointed. Trial Number 1This was the first time I have used E Salon hair color. I do have a few grey hairs at my temples and the color really didn't pick them up. Also, the color that was chosen for me was nice, but it left my hair looking brassy or having a lot of red tones. Haven’t even used it and I’m already disappointedI placed my first order no problem. It arrived today and the color apparently leaked all over everything in the package. I took photos and logged into my account to figure out where to upload photos of the damaged order as well as to stop future orders. I hope mine was formulated wrong.What I wanted was NOT what came out. I am a copper/blonde/ strawberry blonde & what I ordered was that color too to bring back my youth hair colors. What I got....a magenta type color. It was horrible. I washed my hair in dandruff shampoo mixed w Emergen C vit powder that evening then the next day to remove the product. Why is my hair dark pink 😭I ordered this months ago but I had the exact same hair colour as my original photos. I followed the instructions but when I was mixing it it looked more on the pink side. I assumed it was just not oxidised or something and trusted the process. I ended up with dark pink hair and lighter pink at ends (I assume the ends are because my hairs more dead there). Ended up in tears and had to run to Asda to get dark red dye in hopes that would help. I was aiming for a copper/auburn with my original purchase (which the shampoo appears to be) and now I don’t know how I could possibly fix it. Does it run out of date or something? Expecting to last longerThe color was and still is in some places gorgeous! Unfortunately, the initial color only lasted maybe 4 weeks instead of the close to 8 it said it would. My gray/white did not cover as I had hoped. Followed the directions fully, unfortunately it just did not stay.☹️. However, my curly hair is curlier than ever and I am loving that!!!😄 I am not sure if all this happened because menopause has decided to make an appearance or the coloring just didn’t work🤷🏻♀️. Didn’t work I’m afraidI had 3 requirements, none was fulfilled. I’ve asked for nothing close to black, because I hate black hair. Also asked for nothing reddish/copper in my colour, and to cover the greys. I got a reddish black, way too dark than my hair colour, nothing ashy/cold, as I have requested, and didn’t cover my greys. Absolutely disappointed. The only thing that I really liked about your products, it was the shampoo. But I wasn’t looking for a good shampoo. It came out much darker than expectedBy itself I'm sure it's a great color, however the color I picked was a couple tones lighter online (and than my current hair color) but it actually turned my hair much darker. It seemed that the tones are much darker than labeled. The label said this is in the medium brown range but it turned my hair more dark brown and not what I was expecting. HorribleI have contacted E Salon 3 times, once the day I colored, again about a week later and then again with the “tell us” email. No response from anyone. The color did not do anything for grey coverage which was my biggest issue, it ended up being much lighter than it should have been and looks horrible. Much lighter than the color showed. It looks worse now than it did with grown out greys. It feels so damaged at this point and it did not feel this way before this color or after any other coloring I have done in the past which was at least a year before this coloring. Completely unsatisfied and just wanted them to remake a better color with the grey coverage it should have but nobody has responded or even bothered to email back to me reaching out 3 times since coloring. Just okayThe ordering process was easy, my stylist was very helpful, and applying the color was easy, but the color is just okay. Usually when I color my hair or have it colored, there's a noticeable difference and my hair is shiny. I barely noticed any change and my hair is still dull. Plus, it faded super fast despite using products safe for color, never going in the sun, and washing my hair no more than 2 or 3 times per week. Box said Medium Ash Blond, but hair is now Light to Medium AuburnMy hair had a nice shine and healthy texture when I started. The color was just as I wanted it, and I uploaded three photos to the website before my first order. The box arrived and stated it was a Medium Ash Blond. I applied the color exactly per the directions. My hair is now Light to Medium Auburn with very orangey roots. I am wondering if they hire colorblind "colorists" because in no universe would this be considered even close to what I requested. Additionally, the texture of my hair after using this product was extremely dry and somewhat brittle. I have never had issues with this when having my hair done at the salon, or even when I used grocery store box products long ago. Ruined textureI'm not happy with the texture of my hair after using the product. The color was fine, but the texture felt like the cuticle is still open. I've never had this rough texture before. UnevenI feel that although this is marketed as a custom colour, that isn't truly the case. When choosing the colour I added a picture of my current hair for reference which clearly showed that the bottom half of my hair was more vibrant than the top, but I feel that I was just sent a generic mix for my roots and ends based on my initial choice online rather than doctoring it according to how my hair is currently. I wanted the colour to appear uniform overall but I was given dark blonde/red/copper for my roots, and a red/copper mix only for my lengths. I was cynical before I even started as I felt that the red/copper mix on top of the already more vibrant hair would make the overall outcome unbalanced. Still I proceeded with trust but unfortunately I was right-the resulting colour came out much more vibrant on my lengths, resulting in an uneven overall appearance. Grey coverageI followed all of your instructions applied dye to Grey streaks first and made sure that it was well covered it looked great for 3 days then the Grey was back.I used color protection shampoo and rinse. Color was darker than what I wantedI love the packaging, it’s so cute and I really appreciate how personalized it was. However, the color is not the shade that I wanted, it’s much darker where as I wanted it much more light/blonde. Another error I noticed that I asked No ammonia since I have thin fine hair and did not want to damage my hair, however, when the box arrived, one bottle (roots) was No ammonia but the other bottle had ammonia. I also did not understand why roots color was semi permanent while the other one is permanent. However, the color is right, it’s the color that I wanted but the shade is different. Disappointed ResultsI was excited to try eSalon after everything I had been reading about it. I was impressed with the package I received with the separate items labeled and placed neatly in their respective locations. Everything that could possibly be needed was included. The instructions and application were very simple and easy to follow. I loved the resulting hair color. However, after the first week, I noticed the color was fading faster than I anticipated. By 2 weeks, so much I was wanting to color it again. Thinking i maybe was at fault with the color I selected, I.asked for a different shade. Again, color faded. I tried one more time, and color faded again. Yes, I used shampoo for color treated hair and a weekly treatment conditioner from eSalon for insurance of lasting color. TerribleThis is the worst hair dye I’ve ever use since I’ve been dyed my hair for over 20 years. The color doesn’t stay. It washes out within a week. I do not recommend this. Refunding your moneyI will never do business with this company again. I urge all of you to reconsider in ordering. I was charged over $33 for a delivery that I was told I could send back via my mailman, and since our mailman has been with us for years when I handed him to package to be returned to the sender he took care of it as he always has. I have called the company twice trying to get my refund I have canceled my account of course and they're telling me they have not received the product back yet, this is been over one month ago. So evidently with this company the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. So I'm out the money and for some reason I happen to send back online shopping a different product with another company and lo and behold they received it within 5 days. Didn’t Perform WellI am not happy with my coloring kit. I used it and the color in the bottle wasn’t the color I ended up with. There wasn’t any Red/Copper once I finished, not even the many grays I have. It looked like I just dyed it a medium dark brown. My daughter went to the store and got a coloring kit and her results turned out really great and she ended up with the reddish copper color I was hoping my eSalon kit would provide for me. Not what I expectedBased on the answers that I provided and what I wanted, I did not get what I wanted. The color was so much darker than what I wanted and in my opinion did not compliment my skin tone at all. It actually played down my skin tone. Totally different colour to what I asked forI asked for the same colour as in the pics I sent. I have very dark natural hair and it’s dyed red and the ends are pretty faded so quite light red. I like faded as it’s the only time I’ve ever had lighter hair. To note, my current red is red red. The dye I’ve been sent is plum. I didn’t realise this until it was developing in to a nice purple colour - I now have my unwanted very dark hair back with strong plum. Absolutely nothing like what I asked for. Does not work well with graysI used this is the past, before gray hair. Worked great back then, but now that I’m mostly gray under my color, I have two toned hair. Brown up top and black the rest of the way. Even, with that being said, my hair doesn’t feel damaged and is still feeling healthy, which is why I gave it three stars. ColorPoor gray coverage, roots faded out to red, resulting in my having 3 colors of hair--gray roots after 2 weeks, then faded red, then brown. I have taken to wearing hats.
