Brown roots!The two step process is a problem when the root application is not the right color. My overall hair color is a vibrant copper red, but roots were a lifeless brown with no hint of red. disappointedI responded to an email asking about my color (second order) before it was created asking my input. I asked for 2 colors, one being slightly darker for the back/bottom and one to be exactly the same as my previous lighter color. I received an email back stating they had received my request. When I received my color (almost 2.5 weeks late-greys were unbearable) there was only one color which was neither the darker or the previous color I had requested. Why does eSalon want me to be a redhead when I really, really don't want to be??My primary goal has been to tone down the red tone. I requested ashy. The eSalon color still is way too red. My roots, which are naturally about 70% cool brown and 30% gray, keep coming out a deep bronze. NOT thrilled. The developer shifted down from a 20V to a 15V (thank you). But this time it seemed to smell so strong that my eyes watered the entire time and I could barely see where I was applying the color. Could we try going down to a 10V developer, or something still milder? Thanks for listening. Copper ColorColor: instead of ash blond the color outcome was copper/ orange. Coverage: although I had the color applied very carefully by a friend who is a hairdresser, the coverage is sub par. Many grey hairs not covered. Color did not last 4 washes. After 3-4 washes the color was all faded. Dye darkened my hair instead of lightening itI ordered medium brown natural golden dye and got dark brown natural golden dye that somehow made my hair darker instead of lighter. DisappointedI was looking into lightening my hair so that I can have a little bit of fun with semi-permanent dyes whilst I’m working from home (I work in a traditional profession so haven’t had a chance to go unconventional for 8 years) I have specified that my main goal was to reach level 7 from level 5, specifically asking for dark ashy blonde. I only really ‘had’ this one chance as I had natural hair colour and did not want to bleach my hair which I why I decided to entrust someone more experienced and knowledgable to provide me with what I needed to achieve my goal. I have included a number of photos of my hair so that the colourist could make an informed decision when mixing my colour. There was a lot of ammonium in my colour, considerably more than any box hair dye I have ever come across (and I have dyed a lot of hair at Uni). The level 15 developer did hardly anything to my hair: my hair was ginger-ish when standing next to a strong artificial white light, whereas my ends appeared darker, if anything, in natural light. I was unhappy with the results which is why I have purchased a level 6 toner which was too light for my supposedly freshly coloured level 7 hair. The only visible result is the dryness of my hair. Definitely disappointed with the outcome and the fact that I now have to wait years for my hair to grow back if I don’t want to use bleach and cannot experiment with different vibrant colours during lock down. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Just OkI was so excited to try this color kit but was left more than a little underwhelmed. Pros: left my hair really soft. Cons: The kit did not include the classic shampoo/conditioner for post color and the color couldn’t be any further from what I chose. I know everyone’s hair processes differently but I chose dark blonde ash, followed the directions to a T and I have something bordering on a dark blonde with strawberry tones. Not the right colour at allI have medium brown hair and after my colour I had dark brown hair with a copper and red tint in it. I have never ever had such a misfit. I can’t imagine this is right. Order Not ReceivedI placed this order on May 30th, communications said it shipped on June 5th and it is now July 5th and I still have not received my order. Shipping/tracking says it is in El Segundo/ Uslaxa, USA and has not changed since the June 5th “ship date”. I understand shipping can be delayed due to Covid-19 but customer service assured me in an email it would “arrive by the evening of July 1st at the latest”. International orders (Canada) should be made aware prior to ordering that these delays can mean over a month wait. Not for meI wasn't crazy about my color. It was just blah and too dark. For the extra money, I thought it would be just amazing. I wanted a shade lighter and was told they couldn't do that but would send me more of the same. I had to email them several times explaining what I wanted. They finally came up with an idea and sent me another product. This time the color was too red. The colorist just doesn't seem to understand what I want. Unhappy with outcomeI am beginning to think that the color I am looking for, copper red, can only achieved by going to a salon. I did try the competitor first, only because I had not heard of eSalon. There was nothing coppery about the resultant color. It was auburn, and much too dark. My hair is lighter red after using the eSalon color, but still not what I am looking for. The kits from both companies are impressive. Good quality but not my colour :(Love this product for its brilliant packaging, everything personalised and the quality of the dye. My only issue is the colour didn’t come out as I had planned. Doesn’t cover templesYour product color is very nice however it does not stay on your head very long and within days the grey by my temples are exposed. Awful color!I got my package and was so excited to try this product. It came beautifully and carefully package but the color itself it's awful. I ordered a very basic color (Dark Ash Blonde), even sent pictures for the colorist to review and the end results are a disaster. It came orangy and light. I've been dying my hair for 15 yrs and tried several brands of color. I know this is not a base color 7 let alone an ash undertone. Extremely dissapointed! Color Not AccurateThis is my second time using eSalon. The kit is high quality and has everything you need. My initial color was Dark Brown (Neutral) and it was pretty accurate and performed well although it faded quickly, but since I have pink ends I requested a reddish brown instead. The second box I received had Red Pearl added to the dark brown. I was excited to try it, but once I had applied the color and washed it out there was absolutely no reddish tone to it and anywhere I had white hairs (I'm over 50% white hair as my profile reflects), it was a super light brown. Definitely not the color I wanted. Supposed to be Ash Brown, Grays turn yellow, browns turn redthis color has been very disappointing. This is my 2nd attempt. During COVIDAll bad at home a disaster. Granted your site trying best. I asked for lighter but got darker. I asked for lighter. In the kit I got 3 gloves...? . The actual kit ok..just the color. My roots growing out lighter. No greys. And then trying to charge me again. NO WAY I talked with a colorist took pics of myself...asked for a shade lighter. A previous dye 4 months out not mine. Somewhat UnspecactularI think e-salon is a great concept, and everything works, from the delivery (I like being able to choose the intervals), to the simple packaging and easy-to-follow instructions. Customer service is great as well. My first attempt was admittedly a bit clumsy, but I managed to get the job done. People who are sensitive to ammonia odours may want to take note that the smell of the developer is repulsive and overwhelming - do your mixing and application with a window open! The colour was in the right ball-park, but veered a bit too cool, so I requested an adjustment on my next order. Everything leading up to and including application has gone perfectly fine. My main issue is what has happened to my hair since starting with the e-salon product. Initially the colour looked fine, but the texture of my hair went downhill pretty quickly. It became dry, fly-away, straw-like, and any bounce or body that I formerly had is completely gone. My hair simply hangs there now, regardless of what products I use (discontinuing the e-salon shampoo & conditioner helped improve things a bit). Another issue I have had is the way the colour changes as it fades. I wouldn't mind if it simply became less intense - that's normal. But instead the gold undertones in my shade slowly change to a very peculiar shade of brassy orange. Not having used other home colouring products, I have no frame of reference as to how this would compare to others, but I'm not blown away. Colour is just so/so. I even told my colorist that my hair pulls red to add ash color to neutralize the red in my hair. I did like the color the first week then my color just faded to bright red. I greatly emphasized the need to avoid....This last color did exactly what I expressed I did not want. The previous color was fine and then I requested to go lighter.
