Don’t use Demi permanent if trying to grow out grey hair!I decided to grow out my grey hair last spring. My last permanent color was May 1. After 5.5 months of zero color, I consulted esalon about using demi permanent color to help with the demarcation line. I used their product 3 times with the last color 4 months ago. I wash my hair every other day and the color is very much still there even though I’ve washed it roughly 60 times. They said it would wash out completely around 24-28 washes. I am so disappointed that I have lost months of growing out my grey hair. I highly advise against using their demi color if you are trying to grow out your grey hair! Also, why is there no search option in the reviews? How can anyone find anything in over 50,000 reviews? If there was a search option, I would have searched for Demi reviews and likely found that others had similar complaints about the Demi color not washing out. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Don’t do red or auburnI wanted a bright vibrant red, which is practically what my hair already was, it turned my roots copper orange, and the rest brassy red. Fake-Looking Color and harsh chemicalsColor didn't come out at all like the color I ordered. It's literally a medium version of clown orange. It was supposed be "dark brown copper". I just want to speak with someone!This particular order was fine. Now, I’m trying to change my hair color & I’m told that I need to place an order first- so, I’m suppose to order & pay for a color that I no longer want, and then have it changed, hoping that the change is what I receive... Color was not at all what I expected; ended up multi-colored.After my last two colors, which weren't what I was hoping for (first one didn't cover gray at all. I was told it was because it wasn't permanent, so they changed it for the second coloring). This time around, I told them I still needed more gray coverage and that I didn't want the color to be so dark. I got my color and the directions had one color for the roots, which I did, and another color to be applied just below the root line - where I'd applied the root color - and spread throughout the rest of my hair. I followed the directions to a T, wanting to finally have the color I was hoping for. It is SO BAD. The color is not only still just as dark, it now has an orange tinge to it, especially in sunlight. Also, because of the two different colors for roots and the rest of my hair, there is a distinct line where you can see two obviously different colors. I wear a hat almost every time I'm outside now. All I can say is, thank goodness I'm now vaccinated so I can go to my stylist and pay her to fix this. Definitley dark blonde not medium blondeAverage colour. Very even tonal finish. Roots nearest scalp are a bit too warm. Overall colour too dark. Custom color setI talked to Brianna and told her I wanted a color that they had on their website of a woman pictured. So she asked me to post that picture and to post my picture now currently, I had already posted a picture pre Covid. She said once those were posted she would get my color going and send it out. I was under the impression that she was looking for the pictures and that that would be done. I guess that wasn’t the case. I waited and waited and nothing was done so I called back in and got Pam. She said she was also a colorist. Trying to explain the situation she said she could help, so I trusted her. She said that they would expedite shipping and they did which was great. The colorist ended up being someone else and I didn’t get the color I asked for. I saw that it was medium blonde, I am not medium blonde but then it had extra chemicals that they hadMixed in so I trusted them. You can’t tell until it’s done. I’m a medium blonde now. Lovely non toxicMy hair colour did not have any strong smells and did not irritate my scalp. It was very soft & foamy which was nice. Some DisappointmentI’ve been using ESalon for a couple of years and I was impressed with my products & hair color. I did have to adjust the shade because it was too bright & coppery. So I had it toned down a bit. It was great at first. But I’ve noticed the past 2 times have not been very good. My grey doesn’t seem to be covering very well and my hair has a sort of a peachy tone. Didn't cover my gray!I was so excited to try this. My sister-in-law recommended it. I was worried about the color, but the color was fine. The problem is that it doesn't work to cover my gray which is why I color! I followed instructions exactly. I was even worried that 30 minutes would be too long and it would damage my hair. LaboriousI tried this and it took longer than putting any other hair colour on. This I could live with if it wasn’t for the fact that the end result was a horrible colour and my hair felt like straw. The only good thing I can say is the conditioner smells lovely and goes on with the promise of shining, great feeling hair. This wasn’t the result sadly. All in all I found it not something I would ever use again or advise others to try. I’ve asked to unsubscribe from emails but I still get them. Maybe after reading my review you will stop contacting me. I will never use your products again. Oh, one more thing, it didn’t even cover all my grey hair, which isn’t that much but at the sides so noticeable. Sorry, but you asked for a review and I gave you my genuine thoughts and experience. No offence to ginger haired people but this isn’t the colour I asked for. Thank goodness for colour removal products. An expensive lesson learned. You say not 100% satisfied it’s on us! Not trustable colour...After the second wash my hair actually turned out medium brown! The ends are darker, what I ordered it was a medium copper colour but defo there’s something else as well in it! Not at all happy with this shit result, I will need to look for a top hair colourist and explain the situation that who knows how much will cost me! Am convinced the hair colourist did not listen to my hair colour wish and just put in the bottle whatever was over left! Not fair at all, disappointed, my hair desire was medium copper, but this hairdye does not contain copper at all!!!! Learned my lesson, never again!!!! DO NOT GET THIS PRODUCT! TURNED MY HAIR PURPLE!!!!The custom color that I received turned my hair a magenta purple-ish pink color. I was nervous to use this product for the first time so I followed the instructions exactly. The dye did color my hair, but the color mix they sent was completely wrong. As soon as I saw that my hair was not the correct color I instantly called them. They offered to send me a new custom color correction kit OR to get a full refund. I told them that I had an important meeting in 3 days time and needed the color correction kit FAST! They assured me that they would offer me the priority shipping to get this color correction as soon as possible. They do not offer overnight shipping (although I think that they should for these types of emergency instances). So here I am waiting for my new custom color kit. It's been 2 days and IT STILL HASN'T SHIPPED! The lack of customer service and care by this company is appalling and in the meantime I've been walking around with my purple hair. And to have this important meeting with this purple hair. Gulp. I'll never use them again! Very mismatched results!I've loved Esalon before, but this did not work for me at all! The 2 bottles I received didn't blend well before so I was left with a glaring Ombre result. Hair LossThis product was very harsh on my hair. It caused my hair to become dry and to fall out. I would not recommend esalon or their products. I have used many different types of hair coloring systems in the past, and this one was the worst. I have never experienced as much hair damage and hair loss as I have with esalon products. My roots Aint what they were in my 1st colourMy daughter put my color on perfectly like she did each time. I was unhappy and disappointed to see that the color wasn't the same as the 1st time. it was brassy and had an orangey red tone. The 1st time you sent my color it was totally amazing. I could not get over how my hair looked exactly like my real color. I couldn't tell the difference from my roots to my hair. I was in shock and absolutely loved your product. Virgin HairSince I haven’t colored my hair in 2 years I had what the call virgin hair. I have about 20 % grey mostly around the temples and front. My hair had a natural sheen before coloring and to me at appears kind of dull now. They suggested to go a bit lighter than I had planned so I went with their suggestion since we know color usually comes out darker than expected....well not this one! This new tweaked color is horrific!!Chrystalle has always mixed my color & it is usually perfect.....however,the latest set which was created by a MONIQUE arrived a few days ago & which I used yesterday.It is NOTHING CLOSE TO THE COLOR I WANT!! DisappointedI asked to lighten my color from dark brown intense pearl to medium golden brown. I assumed that with “custom color”, I would achieve something somewhat decent. Very disappointed, my hair is not any lighter. It’s still very purple. The ends are dark. Seems like my ‘colorist’ Just threw in some medium brown dye and called it a day. I just spent over $40 for my hair to look awful. NIGHTMARE! (ZERO stars)I had blonde hair. I wanted to lighten my hair a bit, especially my roots, and cover a few grays. I submitted pictures and explanation of my goals. I ordered neutral light blonde color.... which turned my roots bright carrot ORANGE!!! when I called I was told that there was a mistake in the formulation and the colorist had mistakenly added too little toner. I was told that they could fix it however with a follow up color kit. a week later this arrived and I did it... now my hair is much, much WORSE. I ordered light blonde color (1-2 shades lighter than my blonde hair) but now have DARK red roots, DARK grayish brown long hair with BLUE streaks!!!!! I was told that they would send me other products to try to help this disaster which is great, except they keep CHARGING MY CREDIT CARD without my authorization!!!!!!!! and my original order has not been refunded. A bit difficult to applyNew to me - separating and defining the line to start and stop color was a bit challenging - I had to ask my husband for help. Completely wrong colour, wouldn’t wash outThe box and presentation was great, was really impressed and excited to get started. The dye smelt a little fishy but was easy to apply. Once the timer went off I spent over an hour trying to rinse out the colour, it was impossible. The water still wouldn’t run clear and I gave up before I broke my neck holding it under any longer. When I dried my hair I realised the colour was so unnatural and like a bright purple/red! I asked for brown/auburn. I’ve honestly had better results from a drugstore brand. Great color matchingSo to start, I would say I was a little upset my order was way late. I was patient and did get another order shipped out after they contacted me about it. Which was nice that they asked if I had received it yet or not. Customer service was great and my questions were always answered within a few hrs it seemed. The product itself is good. I like the color I got and they did a fabulous job matching ( I have dark brown hair). I tried both ways of applying and prefer putting it in a bowl and using the brush. That’s about where the issues started for me. It says to fill bowl or bottle up with water and pour on head in the shower and rub that in. Well when you do that the product goes everywhere. I happen to have an all white shower curtain and it got on it. 🤦🏻♀️ The next time around I used my shower sprayer and just bent over the tub. It was better but still made a mess. I’m thinking this step is just going to be messy. I didn’t care for the shampoo or conditioner. The results are good. I wouldn’t say my hair looks like it does after my salon visit. My hair definitely wasn’t as shiny or feel as soft. Actually seems like it might be a bit frizzy but I won’t blame that on the color as of yet as I’ve only used it twice. After I thought about it, it’s cheaper for my colorist to do it because she gives free haircuts. Rip offI used eSalon once and it failed to cover my greys. I had no intention of using them again and then without my permission a few weeks later they sent more product and took money my from my account without my permission. It seems I unwittingly must have signed up to a rolling contract. It was worded like a survey asking when I would be thinking of colouring my hair again. I have red hair. Who’s listening?The “made for me color” failed. It had very little effect on my hair. I wanted lighter hair and it actually made my hair subtly darker. I tried the color on my eyebrows. My eyebrows are blond so there’s no reason it wouldn’t work right? It had zero effect on my brows. Im confused? The one thing I can say is that the smell is pleasant and my hair feels silky smooth. But please help red heads. We are color challenged.
