I absolutely love the results. The instructions are very clear. If you give to the team the correct information on how your hair is and how do you wish to be - definitely they will give their best. For me it worked better than going in a salon. And a big plus is that my hair still looks shiny and not dry because of these great products. I would definitely order them again. I am a biracial African American woman in her early fifties. My hair is thick and grows quickly so during the COVID crisis I was desperate to find a hair coloring solution to color about 3 inches of my grey roots.
My needs were:
1. Maintain healthy hair.
2. Find a quality custom color product that works to color thick ethnic hair but also protects the health of my hair.
3. A custom color to match my professional hair color and highlights.
4. Straight forward and easy process from creating a profile to ordering product.
5. A sample to conduct a strand test on my hair before buying
6. Good communication with customers

Areas that can be improved:
1. Allow for 2 pictures to be uploaded when completing profile with a maximum of 4 photos
2. A sample to conduct a strand test of custom color (nominal fee)
on my hair before buying
3. Allow for more color for long and ethnic hair
4. To see how the custom color would look on you with a virtual mock-up with the custom color
5. General Hair care instructions after the initial color. (not just selling products)
One that shows natural color and the second to shower current hair color
Tips: 1. Follow the instructions closely. 2. Take the the time to comb through hair and section prior to beginning the coloring process 3. Have at least 3 hair clips readily available 4. If you have some one to help you, bribe them because you need their help with coloring the back of your if you only want to color the roots.
Everything was as promised. For the first time to color my hair at home, I was thrilled how it turned out. I had watched lots of videos on how to foil my color in for lowlights and wow, they made it look easy! I struggled with the whole foil thing and just decided to brush it in and while my technique was lacking, it still turned out great! The shampoo and conditioner they sent was awesome so I came back to order some of that today! My hair looks and feels smooth and shiny and smelled great immediately! I had planned on canceling after trying but they made a repeat customer out of me. Thanks!
I am so, so happy I tried eSalon. The website is easy to use and allows you to easily add pictures, view your colour and message your stylist - as well as change your shipping date if needed with ease!
Onto the hair dye, the application is easy to use and unlike other dyes doesn't go hard and sticky when applying, this stays nice and smooth making application easy and less to no chance of missing a patch!
The colour is exactly what I wanted a vibrant red - better than when I've had it done at the salon or by box dye.
I cannot comment on the longevity of the dye as I dyed it yesterday but regardless I cannot rate it enough.
Even if it fades, which red is prone too anyway, I have a lovely looking tint rinse to use until the next ends application!
Normally, I'd get a box dye and put it all over my head every 4 weeks (if not going to a salon) my roots needed 15mins with this kit and my ends 10mins - I followed the instructions exactly feeling as though 10 mins isn't going to be enough (not used to a short amount of time)- but it's all that was needed! And my hair is probably thankful!
Less damage, vibrant colour, saves money and done at home!

I have always loved the color system and the compliments I get are always amazing. The one thing I didn't like was having to clean up my bathroom from fly away drops of color. Today I colored my hair and didn't realize that there was a new developer. This stuff is fantastic!!!! Not only did I see the color better for application but the best part was no fly away color droplets when I applied it to the back of my head. Then when it was try to rinse in the shower- that developer mixed with water was heaven on my head. No runny color and I was able to better massage the color into my hair. Please don't change back to the old developer..
This was my first kit from eSalon and the ordering process was easy. the base color is really lovely- exactly what I wanted. After following instructions to the T, my hair looked good but felt dry. I emailed my colorist and she sent me the repair conditioner. I'll review that apart from this. I have had better gray coverage from Matrix but I like the color so much and the Cust. Service was so good that I'm going to give it another go. Overall this was a very good experience- I have my 1st auto ship arriving this week. I wanted to leave another review but it looks like I can just update this 1. My 1st auto shipped has arrived and eSalon Customer Service is incredible! This 2nd kit showed that they read , listen and remember. My hair looks AND Feels fabulous!! Was 4, now 5 stars!!!

The question and answer review they have you go through is very precise. To get to the color you want. Also if you don't end up liking your color, you can always change it. I really like the ultra moisturizing conditioner that came with the kit. It does what it says it does and I couldn't get enough of it. I was able to use what I got for 3 uses.
My hair is shiney, vibrant and beautiful. I wanted to color my hair because I felt hair lacked luster. E Salon product has given me back my beautiful shiney hair.
I have been coloring my hair for years using a particular drug store brand. My sister suggested I try eSalon and I am never going back! Choosing just the right shade and then having a colorist formulate the perfect color is just what I needed. I can't believe how much longer the color lasts - my gray hair used to show after 3 weeks and with eSalon, it's lasted 6!
This product was simple to use, just like regular at home box dye. The color was beautiful and picked just for me. My roots had started to show due to the pandemic and the color perfectly covered them and it blended into my hair very evenly. It didn’t dry out my hair at all. The smell was a little strong, but the product was great. I would choose this route again in a heartbeat.
I have had some bad experiences with home color and this was amazing! The shade was perfect (I like a vibrant copper) - they matched it exactly to what I asked for. The colorist emailed back and forth with me a few times to make sure they understood my needs and answer some questions I had. The color kit arrived quickly with very clear instructions which I appreciated. It was a wonderful experience and I will never go back to salon color after this!
Loved this auburn red with blond tones. Semi permanent was nice as I lived in Florida and my natural hair lightened back to a natural copper red without a noticeable change as the dye washed out and grdually faded. Awesome product!

Love it! Love the color so much. I had a bit hard time with the steps because I’m not familiar with doing hair on my own. I struggled a bit but it turned out well. A few strands of grey hairs are not covered completely but they are less obvious now. My color is ash dark brown with a bit of purple tone when out in sunlight which I love 💕. I was skeptical about purchasing a color online ...but with the introductory price of 12 $ and lots of good reviews I decided to give it a try.
I was extremely happy...all the tools were provided to complete the color and it was fun picking a color from the huge range of choices.
My color choice covered my gray perfectly and left my hair so soft and shiny, and it lasted a long time !

I have been coloring my own hair for almost a year using a drugstore color. The drugstore color was pretty but never lasted long even though it was called a permanent color. Immediately after coloring it would look like it was fading after one wash and I always use a sulfate free color friendly shampoo.
I colored my hair yesterday and Immediately after using my eSalon color I knew this was a great product. The color is so rich, has depth to it and matched perfectly. I put in my information with pictures and included the the type/number of the drugstore color I was using hoping to receive something similar and they hit the nail on the head.
Again I just colored it yesterday so I will update my review after a few weeks to tell you how the color has held up.

I asked my stylist for a very copper color and that’s exactly what I got! 🧡 I lightened my hair myself at home and the color took beautifully after that. Surprisingly, the color actually looks very natural despite being super vibrant and well...orange. 🍊🧡

I find my hair super soft and shiny. This time I had better grey coverage. My hairdresser really liked the color. She actually had a customer bring her E -Salon product in for her to apply it. My hairdresser really liked the product herself.
Usually a store bought color, no matter what brand will always leave your hair Dreadfully dry by the time you need to color again.

The Dark Brown (Cool Beige) shade I chose turned out to be exactly what I wanted--and it holds up a lot better than the drugstore brands out of a box!
The follow up by my colorist, Yvette, to check with me and eSalon's customer-oriented focus are both very much appreciated. I'd gotten two sets of color in the first shipment (wow!) and used them separately, so I asked if the upcoming (3rd) order could be delayed. The change was made to the auto-shipment schedule very graciously--with no problem or conditions...now that's GREAT customer service!

I have lots of grays and didn’t want to risk going to the salon during the pandemic so I ordered. I have never colored my hair myself. I have always gone to the salon.

I couldn't ask for a better match to the color I wanted to achieve. I decided to save some money and color my hair on my own. E-salon is a simple and thorough process. They send your color along with simple directions. My assigned stylist even made recommendations on how to change my color to achieve what I wanted. I even did the highlighting!!! It worked out well too. If I can color and highlight my own hair you can too.

This is really like having your colourist at home with you. Was really impressed . Although its always lovely having a pamper at the actual salon right now thats just not possible and I have to say Ive never been truly happy with my colour until now and thats without me even having to leave home. I had a great chat with a colourist and I sent a pic of what I wanted my colour to be and within 3 days everything had arrived. So Im going to save myself some cash staying safe and stick with esalon . Thankyou all at Esalon

this color formula really made my hair non brassy and gave it a light fun summer look! I really liked what you did it didn't make my hair to orange.

The color is perfect! Love the natural highlights. The color is multi demensional and 100% better than anything you can buy at a store. It totally looks like a pro did it! I will never buy hair color anywhere else!
