I had dyed my hair with each salon earlier in the year. I loved it, but it still wasn't exactly what I wanted. After adding a note to go a bit darker, they sent out my next order in time to dye my hair before my wedding. It came out perfect. I'll probably use it for the rest of my life!
At first I was kind of sceptical as it said I would only apply the colour to my roots and the lather it in through the rest of my hair att the end. But I did as is said and it's so awesome! I didn't thought it would be this good. The only down-side is that my hair still isn't as light as I want but it's defenitly lighter than before!
No salon ever could get this right but eSalon did!

I've been chasing my original hair color since it started turning grey and getting darker and duller. In my 20s and before I always got all these compliments on my hair . . . I got used to it. And then they stopped and I kept wondering why until I realized how much my hair had changed. I tried henna, I tried fancy salon jobs . . . nothing worked. The salon would make it super dark red for weeks and then it would fade to close to the right color, but that's not what I wanted it to look like. One try with eSalon and . . . NAILED IT.
This is absolutely the best hair color for home use. I see no difference in the result of this product from the one used by my hairstylist except the savings. Will definitely keep using it.
I think the hair coloring product is quite good, the color was exactly what I wanted. My only issue has been that my hair seems to be falling out after coloring. I hope that stops pretty soon!
It was a bit unclear how to mix it. I mixed the whole bottle then had a lot left after doing my roots. Next tome I will use less and not mix in the bottle, but equil parts in a bowl. I really like the color!
I have red hair (by choice) and the coloring doesn't last and tends to wash out with every shampoo. eSalon is completely different! It doesn't face or turn brassy. It last in the same color until you redo your color or cut your hair.
Definitely a difference and huge improvement over drugstore color.

I have yet to show any gray...this is 3 wks after e salon color and drugstore color would have already shown some breakthrough gray. I wish e salon would develop color and Highlight kits. I found my own highlighting kit and am happy with the result but think e salon could add this step and help me do a better job overall with their expertise.
Very easy to use, great shine and depth of colour but grey hair showed through in a week and some fading at the roots within 2 weeks also. 6 weeks on the mid to ends are still glossy not brassy.
I used your product once and had them change the color slightly. It was supposed to arrive on 6/2. Here it is 6/5 and I have not received it yet. I wanted to do my hair before vacation, now it's to late!! Cancel me for auto shipment!!~!
Only took 4-5 days to get here with international mail, which was surprising. The colour is nice, but too bad it's not more bright and vivid. I'll see how it goes and then decide if i want to keep subscribing.
I ordered this product and when I recieved it ,I was quite happy with the colour ,maybe I needed just a bit lighter colour and it would have matched my colour
My color that was selected is the perfect shade and comes out looking like a salon color. I'm not particularly sure of the method after the color application which is rinsing and massaging with existing left over color though.
I had originally contacted customer service about returning my product even though it had already been shipped. I had hoped I ordered it to be sent in time. Tracking told me however it would not get here in time before I left for vacation. Customer service was not friendly but I'm happy to report my color came in. I will not have to return it and I couldn't be more excited. Thank You!

I LOVE THE COLOR BUT IT DID NOT LAST LONGER THEN TWO WEEKS. GAVE A REVIEW BEFORE. MY HAIR AT MY HAIRLINE IN FRONT IS COMING OUT. I DONN'T UNDERSTAND IT. ANYWAY I NOT GOING TO PUT ANYMORE DYE IN MY HEAD SO I DON'T WANT ANYMORE ORDERS. PLEASE CANCEL ANY FURTHER ORDERS

Old post: Great quality, hair is in amazing condition afterwards as always. Just a shame about the colour. I hadn't expected carrot orange. Thank goodness it faded within a couple of washes but it wasn't the colour I asked for. I will be going back to my previous colour after this.
I was okay with 15.00 bucks but to go up to 25.00 is a bit much. I can go to the Salon for a few extra dollars from there. I have to color every 4 to 6 weeks
A stylist called before my first order shipped to discuss my order. Since colors on a screen are often not true, I had been unsure which to choose. The stylist talked me through it and made recommendations and changed my order. When the color came, it was exactly what I wanted! However, my grays were visible again less than two weeks after application. I decided to try it again, using a different application method, to make sure it wasn't just me not doing a professional-grade job. The second time (root touch-up) seemed to last a bit longer, but still not as long as I'd like.
Love the color and coverage but don't love how it suppresses my natural curl. For this reason I'm thinking of stopping unless a curl friendly option is available.
At first I thought Ithat was to dark on me but only because I wanted my hair much lighter but now gotten used to it and would like a red tint to it aND it would be perfect
I am writing this 5-star review of eSalon to let others know what truly great hair color they have. I'm a brunette and have colored at home for years, using different brands, trying for the same color, but getting the same lousy results--and the professional colorings weren't much better. Sometimes the color covered the gray, sometimes it didn't. Sometimes the color was spot on, sometimes it came out brassy or almost black. There was never any consistency! With the fail-proof coloring formula and application offered by eSalon, it comes out right every time! No guesswork, no finger-crossing, no hoping you won't have to put it in a pony tail until the roots grow out--it's perfect and it leaves your hair in perfect condition thanks to the gentleness of the products! Oh, and if you decide you want to lighten up a bit for summer time, they can tell you how to do that, too--without the brassiness! I can't recommend it enough!
The color wasn't exactly what I expected; however, I love the way it looks. It also covered all the gray which was very surprising. Thank you to whoever came up with the idea of eSalon.

I am not happy with the way my color turned out. I now have reddish brown color when my hair was medium blonde. Obviously, esalon is not the right fit for me. Please cancel any and ALL future orders.
I was unhappy with the previous products I had been using and could never quite get the color that I was wanting. Figured I would have to try with eSalon a couple of times to get it right, but, to my surprise, it was exactly right the very first time. Thanks.
The custom hair color arrived as expected and covered my grey while giving the bit of warmth I was hoping for. The directions were clear and the color was easy to apply. It is inconvenient and expensive to keep up my color at the salon so this color is a big improvement on those fronts. My only criticism is that I have curly hair and this color seems to make my hair more susceptible to humidity than when I had the color done at the salon.
I've used this product several times. The color turns out a little too reddish but after I shampoo about three times it becomes the color I like. My only complaint is the hard to rinse out gel that is left in the hair right after using it. Kinda weird but it does finally rinse out. It's better than sitting in the beauty salon chair for hours!
Of course this wasn't as easy as the salon I went to where I paid $250 for my grey to be covered (and they were inexpensive compared to any NYC salon)....but then, they used basically the same products (demi)....and actually took my hair color almost 2 shades darker even though I requested not. Somehow Esalon was able to match my color IDENTICALLY based on my photos, so this looks MUCH nicer than my expensive salon visit. Do I hate the time it takes? Yeah, I do....but I do have to say it is very very worth it! ;)
I really love my color, and so does everyone else, even my stylist. I have mentioned before that the actual volume of product is a little on the skimpy side (my hair went a couple inches past the shoulder). Since I have cut my hair to the clavicle, it's not a problem anymore, but I think there should be options on how much color you buy, according to the length of hair. The only thing I regret is that there are no self highlighting products. I have to buy it separately at the store, and it shouldn't be that expensive, and it contains too much product for just being highlights. eSalon should sell a $5 highlighting kit with a realistic amount of product. It shouldn't be the same amount as the full color kit, which is what I'm finding on the shelf. eSalon has the potential for improved sales/customer service that they isn't being fulfilled.
I was very hesitant to try eSalon, but a dear friend had recommended it (she's been using it for a very long time). I have very short hair - pixie style, am a natural woody-brown with intermixed gray, and have had it bleached platinum for a couple of years. Recently I decided to use a box color (have done this most of my life) to make a drastic change, so I chose a box color of deep purplish-auburn. It lasted for about 2 shampoos and then began to fade drastically! I looked like an orange creamsicle within 2 weeks =( So my friend gently nudged me toward eSalon again, and I decided I was failing miserably doing it myself, and didn't want to pay the horrendous amount a salon would charge.... so I completed the easy, short eSalon questionnaire, uploaded a picture of my current hair color, and was very happy with how easy it was! The next day I received a personalized email from my eSalon stylist offering professional suggestions on how to reach my ultimate hair color goal and that was it! I received my personalized kit in about a week and it was awesome! Personalized instructions, everything you could possibly need to color your own hair, and the results were excellent! Did I mention the products don't reek like an ammonia factory? And my hair is soft as kitty fur???? Love this!!!!! Don't be a scared rebel like me - you will definitely love these people and their products!
I use to use store color and it was okay but my hair was getting damaged and dry. This color is always spot on and my hair is much shinier and healthier.
Took me a few tries to get the shade right (my hair is medium brown and pulls red like a maniac also I'm overrun with greys at the tender age of38) BUT esalon colorists patiently worked with me and we got it! The dye holds up to shampoos (grateful they send both a skin barrier & color remover for drips and when go off hairline!) The only downside is I feel a little bad for my mailman having to cart it to me lol!
This product is absolutely wonderful. I'm glad I discovered it. Only one problem, if someone was very thick and very long hair, like I do, there isn't enough. I really have to skimp when touching up or doing my whole head.
I bought this hair color for a great 6 week hair color. The first order I got I loved the color but the grey hair didn't cover that great. I let them know and they changed the formula and now it's beautiful color from roots to ends. A box of hair color at a drug store is over priced. This hair color is slightly more but well worth the price.
Even though I love this product more than any other product or salon, I only gave four stars because I wish the color on my gray roots will stay longer. But other than that no other complaints. Great product for your money, soft hair after the coloring, shipment is on time and flexibility of order change.
Love the color. My hair is short and find that I throw away a third of the color. Would like a smaller bottle but otherwise very happy with the product
Color and coverage on MOST areas was good but I'm still having trouble getting the resistant gray around the temples
to take. I had received advice from a color expert at eSalon (for the 2nd time) saying to increase time for processing and also using a 15 developer (rather than the 20 they recommended the first time) but I'm considering canceling the auto ship for my next order.
The first color they mix for me felt a little off, although I got a ton of complements. I made a quick call to them, they fixed it for me, now I'm in love. My hair looks so healthy, and the color is spot on.
Like everything about this hair color except the smell. I have been taking it to my salon and having my grey grow out highlighted with it to soften the impact of growing out my copper hair to it's current natural grey.
The product was paste-like on my part even after using the speccial comb. The container had less product than I expected for $15. Thinking I will pass on this.
Other products that I have used are awesome.
Medium brown with a touch of gold; I was pleased with the outcome of this permanent color; when applied it was a little strong in smell and it slightly tingled my scalp. I colored my hair April 18th, it'll be 4 weeks on Monday May 16th, it has started to fade. I will try the product again.
