I have received a couple of shipments of my color.... I found it easy to apply.... very similar to the store bought box. The color is just a bit darker blonde than I like, but still like it. I like that it stays in much longer than the kind you buy in the local stores....even after several shampoos. I have put my order on hold for now because I am trying a "new" color that I am not sure I am going to stick with, but if I go back to my blonde, I will probably request a bit lighter shade.... and if I stay with this new color, I will probably try ESalon on this too. It is a bit more pricey than the store bought brands but it last much longer. I would definitely recommend folks to try it.
Love the convenience. Such a nice color that is mixed for me. Only drawback is my grey by my sideburn area doesn't seem to last covered long enough. The rest of the hair keeps a beautiful color for weeks after my grey pops out.
Copper color hard to change to golden honey color?

I really do love your product. But I think the problem is my descriptive words. The time before this one I ask for a copper color not realizing how red it would be. This time I asked for more of a golden tone to my brown, but it is still very red. Maybe my hair wants too much to stay in the red copper family instead of the golden honey brown I was after. Any thoughts?
I thought yeah ok, this is just some regular old hair dye that they supposedly customize to fit. Cute - take a pic, answer questions, WAAALA. Admittedly, I let 2 shipments sit before I tried it. I was game cause I got tired of trying to match colors & developers on my own. The name brand boxed colors, ended up NOT delivering the color I wanted on top of NOT covering grays. Plus, I no longer live close by my hairstylist---I'm shell shocked from bad experiences w/others, so it's hard to keep my color up --- until now.
WOW!!! I'm mad @ myself for waiting to use my custom color! After a long awaited visit to my stylist - weeks later the grays were back & it was personal this time lol. What the heck, try the eSalon and hope it covers and doesn't over or under process my hair. I have unrelaxed black natural hair and that normally adds to the dying woes. I'm happy to say NOT this time. eSalon did the darn thing! Color is what I want AND my grays are covered AFTER 2 to 3 washes (lol that was my test).
Hope others have similar experiences if you follow the directions and if your hair is in a healthy state (which makes a difference). Yeah think I'm a customer for life---let me review my autoship schedule :). Best to all & THANKS eSalon!!!
Hi, I really like the quality of the hair coloring. This is second time I have used this shade. As I found in the first coloring it is a very nice color however too red for me. Many dyes make the reddish tones in my natural shade more pronounced. When I was younger my preferred shade was a honey blond. Now that I am older that shade does not compliment my complexion and washes me out. Can you make a formula that would dye my hair more light brown than reddish (copper)???

I absolutely love the adjusted color, it's exactly what I was aiming for. However, I've found that even when using my Aveda color care/color stay shampoo and conditioner and limiting my washes to once every 3 days, my grays show back up within two weeks or less. It's like the color just falls right off of them.
Any advice you can give or adjustments you can make would be great!
I like the color, but am a little disappointed in the gray coverage. I am pleased that my request to lighten up the color did work well. I am hoping to go one shade lighter and then evaluate for a final decision.
This formulation works so well on my stubborn greys. I wish I could get my hairstylist to use it on me. Her hair color just doesn't give me the coverage for the amount of time that I feel like I should have considering the cost of a single process color and blowout these days. I can spend $65-$85 on a professional or the $25 at esalon. I'll choose the latter.
My color covers grey beautifully and the color last long. My only negative, is that even after rinsing several times, my color lacks shine. Other than that, it's definitely worth buying my hair color through esalon! It gives a professional hair color look.
When I received my first order, I cracked up a little bit. I don't know, maybe I'm your first male customer. Obviously, the hair clips were not needed since my hair is only about 2 inches long. And the gloves were worthless for a man. A buddy of mine is a doctor & he gave me a few pair of large disposable surgical gloves so I'm all set. Going forward, all I need is the hair color and activator. You may wish to advertise for men also because it works great. You'd just have change a few things in the accessory kit.
Darker than expected without the tones expected - heavy on the dark brown / mahogany, copper almost non-existent. However, it is a nice color, covered greys well and application was easy. I will see how well it wears. Was very drying on hair vs. other formulations, even using the products provided. However, I used my usual cleansing conditioner which helped.
I do like the color, but it's just been 5 wks and already I have gray at the temples and my roots.
Is there an adjustmenton the color possible or another suggestion?

This is my first time ordering. I had ligjt blonde hair and chose the beautiful picture of dark blonde copper. Needless to say my roots did not change much or they darkened, and my ends turned pink! Then I used tinted love in copper. Ot helped but now my hair in mixes of blonde, strawberry blondeish, and orange ends. The package is cute..tinted love was amazing, but the color was off. I will retry it and re-review
I liked my last shipment however I found it was a little too dark.

The last shipment was what I had ordered, however, after applying it to my hair I found that it was a little darker than I expected. On my next order I would like to receive the colour that I received prior to my last one. Thank you.
I am happy with my new hair color but not happy with the results I got following the instructions. I colored my roots first and let it set for 20 minutes. Then I combed the color through the rest of my hair and waited 5 minutes before shampooing with the remaining color, then washed and conditioned. The color did not really take on the top of my hair. There is a definite color change line at my part. My hair is thick and perhaps it did not get distributed well enough and I believe that 5 minutes was not enough processing time.
This was more expensive than what you buy in the store, but much cheaper than going to a salon, but the color is just as good as what you get in a salon.
Love the color but when rinseing and washing I really don't care for the slimy, rubbery feel. I think it's difficult to rinse. I shampoo/rinse twice after coloring.
Love the personalization. I wish it had a little bit more gray coverage. I feel it's good for about a week then grays show up again... But that just could be how fast my hair grows. I've only used this product twice... So I'm still getting use to it... Still had a hard time with the residue that's left on my scalp, it's still there after a couple of days.
I noticed a slight difference between my trial color which I had used in May, compared to this latest one I purchased. It seems like the ammonia smell was very strong on this latest product. But otherwise, everything else was ok.
I found the previous color a bit too red for me and requested a color change. The newest color is much better. Thank you for being so responsive to my color change request.
Got rid of the orange/brass highlights at my request by adding Ash. As a result a little bit darker than I desire, but definitely preferable to brassy.
This color was perfect although I didn't notice any difference between the two bottles as I was under the impression they varied in color I would have been able to use the second color for in between deliveries for a root touch up down the road

I am very happy and pleased about my results after dying my hair over a month ago :-) After trying mass production hair dyes and even hair salons, I found one biggest problem with all of them: the gray hair coverage was simply very poor and the color was washing off shortly after. What I also did not like was that I could not seem to find the right color, even hair salons were not so understanding and willing to do their best (my hair color has always ended up to be very dark brown). Overall I was disappointed and upset. I have completed my profile with eSalon and sent to my personal colorist my pictures. That was THE BEST experience I have ever had (very personal and caring) - They got back to me with a proposal of a color for my overall look/appearance. I could not believe how nice "light brown" looked on me (finally no more dark:-)) It made me look younger and covered my gray hair. My advice is to send your pictures to get some ideas from your creative colorist. I found my peace and will definitely save lots of money. My next custom hair color + color hair care are on their way. Definitely not tempted any more to waste money - wisely spent :-)
After my first order, I realized this was meant for people with gray hair and got embarrassed that I was using this for my own hair. I'm in my early 20s and I just love the color. It took me a while to find the right shade for me. The first was just too coppery. (Mind you, I am dealing with the color red here which is very hard to replicate a REAL ginger color.) The second time was the same color as before because I was too afraid to change it much. The third time was when I decided to change it to a lighter color. It was cool. That was the perfect one for me and then I got brave and decided to change it yet another time to just play with the red color family and this time I am LOVING it. I deciced to go strawberry blonde. It's such a lovely color for me especially since I'm naturally blonde with a slight tint of strawberry anyway. This just makes the natural red in my hair pop out more. I hope this review is helpful for other people who like to use red hair dye. The only color I didn't like was the copper color for the first round. It was a nice color, but it didn't look natural enough for me. My family members don't have that color and maybe other people's families do, but not mine.
Would NEVER spend salon prices or time ever again ....people ask IF I color my hair it looks so natural

Good grey coverage but color only last about 2 weeks, then fades out. I only wash my hair 1-2 x a week or it would fade faster,even using the shampoo and conditioner they offer. Still better then store bought.
The color based on the survey came a bit darker than I expected, but it was also a perfect color for me! I won't go lighter like i was previously, I love this color!!
This is only my second time using this product. While I loved the color, I felt that it does not last as long as if you got it colored at a salon. However, I have very prominent grey roots and very dry hair.
As a child/teen I had the most beautiful hair colour. It was strawberry blonde. Some strands however were very blonde, some fire red and underneath you could find some almost burgundy. I held off colouring my incoming grey as long as I could. Although I finally found a hairdresser that could match my colour as best as she could, I simply can't afford $100 every few months. I've tried several boxed colours as well. None could ever match the colour I wanted. I know I'll never get the variety of colours I had then but I wanted something that didn't look like I coloured my hair. I came across eSalon and thought, what have I got to lose?? I've been thrilled!! I sent several pictures of my hair as I have a lot. A lot. Very thick, very curly and long. I'm about to receive my 3rd (or 4th?) shipment. I'm so very happy with my colour. I have a lot of grey and with the thickness of my hair, it's hard to colour. Thank you so very much eSalon. The colour I get is so close to my natural. I love it!! And it lasts. I don't send kudos often but this product is more than deserving. Thank you for taking the time that you do to match hair colour perfectly. I'm telling everyone!!
Product was ok but who financial sI tuition changed and I requested to stop order, you continued to send it even though I cold not afford it!!!!! Very disappointed in your company and would not recommend it!
I loved the density of the colour and how it covered all my greysdedpite bring a Demi. Only complaint is that There is no purple visible I my hair as I had asked for
First off let me start with I started to use eSalon back in 2013 I loved the color but never maintained it because I canceled my subscription.
Two years down the line I'm using drugstore hair color kits and not seeing the results I wanted. I was looking for a full coverage of my gray hairs and a brown shade, nothing too dark or blonde.
2016 comes around and I get and email from Esalon. I have grays growing out of my head faster then ever and my color is dull, plus my wedding was in 4 weeks.
So I did it and yes I'm happy I did. Great product, cute kit and great service.
I have no problem with the product per se. What bothers me is the time between the shipping date and the actual delivery date. When I select a delivery date on the calendar.....it isn't the delivery date, it is the shipping date. My last order shipped on June 10th and I didn't receive it until two weeks later.
Tell people often about eSalon. Unfortunately am not aware of any of them trying it out. Have suspended my account only because of my financial situation. I did state reason as too expensive but this was referring to my situation rather than your product being too expensive.
I LOVE THE GREAT COLOR BUT NO MATTER WHAT I DO THE FIRST DAY MY HAIR IS ALL SLICK AND RUBBERY FEELING. I CAN RINSE FOR 1/2 HOUR AND NOTHING HELPS. THE SHAMPOO AND CONDITONER DO NOT SEEM TO HELP.
The color is great grey coverage. It also does not fade as fast as most reds. However, I still would like it a bit more red and the pictures I had sent were more of an orange red as that is what I use to use.
It was too reddish, but on a positive note, no one noticed it except my husband so it must have looked close to natural! Very easy to understand the directions and apply. It was fun, just not ready for another yet!
I really liked the color. However, it didn't cover all of my highlights. I have a few spots sporadically throughout that the color didn't really take. I am going to try again and see if it covers my blonde highlights more!
I liked the color this time, but not as much as last time. Not sure why, though. It really is a good match for my skintone and seems to stay longer than the store-bought versions.
I like the convenience of it, but it is too much product for my hair. My hair is very fine and short. I only used a half bottle, therefore it's a waste. Otherwise I like the color made for me.
The color was wonderful, but the price for reorder was too high. I was sent an offer for reorder at $10. When I loaded it in the cart, it charged full price. So I never submitted the order. Next thing I know, I receive an email stating my order was received. AND my credit card has been charged full amount. In spite of two emails to cancel an order I did not make, I've received no response. Today I receive an email that my order has shipped! Watch this company. It's saving your credit card info and sending unauthorized shipments!

At first I thought it didn't color my grey hair well enough. I went back to using the best OTC hair color I could purchase. What a mistake. My hair is so dry and brittle. I think my hair just grows so much faster and needs to be colored more often than I thought. I am ordering Custom Hair Color more often than before and won't go back to OTC product again.
I have been dying my hair for many many years and have been many colors.
mostly a light brown/dark blonde over my formerly dark brown (now with lots of grey)
I have tried a few things but have always gone back to L'Oreal, mostly because it leaves the hair the softest, color is good and low price
this color held better and looked great, but I did not like the feel as much.
I am going to adjust the color a tad and give it another go to see if it is worth 3x the price
Hair is in better condition than with a shop bought box colour, which was why I bought this brand. However it works out a bit expensive with postage. I would recommend it though.
The E-Salon is wonderful! My color was spot on. I have to cancel my membership for now due to I don't have the money right now. Just can't afford it. I'm so sorry. I'll be back as soon as I can. Thank you
