The color was true to the color I expected and was a nice brown. The instructions were clear and the kit was nice quality. I used the brush that came with as the applicator and liked that. My complaint is that 1 of the 2 bottles had opened at the top and some liquid spilled out inside the package during shipping. Not thrilled with that. Otherwise happy with everything else.
Very much like the color,and was easy to apply, the only trouble I had was it did not wash out very well. Left my hair coated and sticky
Used the whole packet of shampoo to try and remedy but took almost 3 days of waahes for it to feel like my hair again.
Heart Lock shampoo makes my hair feel softer but it also seems to make it more oily. I have oily hair to start with and shampoo everyday maybe I'm using too much.
So my hair has grey lots in the front. Browns and reds. I wanted a hint of purple. It covered my grey lovely and in certain light can see purple but not covered great on rest. I have long hair and was plenty in the bottles.
Overall it did kind of work.
Will look for different colour next time.
The only thing I'd change with the formula is to make it thicker so it wouldn't drip as much. Other than that, the color is awesome and it lasts a long time!! Thank you!
The color of my roots and most of my hair was what I had expected but towards the bottom of my hair it didn't hold the color as well and is much lighter
Already received feedback from colorist and I believe adjustments are being made for next order.
I have very thick and stubborn roots and color was gone by the following week.
I like the convenience of the product the color is good just not thrilled with shampoo and conditioner. I don't feel like if cleans my hair good enough. Other then that I do tell people about eSalon. I even go to the site with them.
I was impressed finally getting a perfect colour balance. I would have got five stars if the colour was permanent. I noticed every time I washed my hear colour came out, it was a colour safe shampoo. Before the roots were growing the colour had a ginger cast as the balance was lost. If this this product was permanent until the roots needed doing it would have five stars and my continued custom.
Loved the way the product came with everything easy application but upon washing the dye turned like clay in my hair and was difficult to wash out as it coated the strand the shampoo that came with the kit wasn't nearly enough to remove whatever formed on my hair so I had to apply additional shampoo and comb through rinse then shampoo again to remove all the dye from my hair after conditioning my hair felt great. I blowed dried and flat ironed but I think I stripped my color attempting to wash it out of my hair. It covered all of my greys which is great but it isn't as vibrant as expected. Going forward I think I would like to try a lighter brown this chocolate is still a little dark. Overall it was worth the try if we can figure out why the dye got clay-like upon washing and I can get my shade right I would continue to use it the service is very convenient.
I need up with 2 time color by following the roots only method. My previous experiences have been fantastic, but I will do all over color to prevent "the stripe"
I love the color match from the information they gather. I just wish the product lasted a little longer in the temple area where my gray is pronounced.
Okay, so first, I've never had color last this beautifully, and for that reason alone I love this product. However, I was a little bummed, my hair didn't seem to match as well to the coppery color I had hoped for. Don't get me wrong, the color was still nice, but it looked more auburn than copper. I am looking for that gorgeous, carroty, coppery hair, and while I thought I had chosen carefully enough, it just wasn't quite there. A little trial and error. But still, for the way this stuff lasts, I'm more than happy to try a few times!
This is my first time trying eSalon and I'm definitely going to continue. I liked my color, but because I was starting with balayage/shadow roots, the color didn't take evenly and I had to use my second bottle to do touch ups the next day and I'm still not sure it's totally even, but I'm hoping that some washes will even it out. I did mention the balayage/shadow root in my message with my order but still received the same color for roots/ends, although I'm not sure that's relevant. Overall, I'm happy with the service because it came quickly and I appreciate certain colors being blocked out so that you can't choose them (I like drastic changes and sometimes need to be stopped!) and I felt like the color was way more multidemensional/natural looking than any store-bought demi I've ever tried.

I was really happy with the color and shininess of my hair. It was a bit dark but I emailed to let them know I would like it a bit lighter. But I noticed right away that there was breakage on my forehead hairline. I also noticed my hair really dried out on the ends and was very untamable for 2 weeks. Now my hair is looking very dull and I don't want to use this product anymore. I'm thinking maybe the ammonia in it was a bit harsh. The color is lasting pretty good and the brittle finally went away with coconut oil, but I'm not head over heels with the product itself and will probably seek a professional to fix my hair with a deep hot oil treatment and spend way too much money on coloring it through a salon. It was worth the try though. My hair is just very fine and didn't agree with this product.
Color is fine and it did a good job of covering my gray but had a bit too much ash in in for my liking. Have stopped any further shipments until my hair stylish can get it corrected. This happened when I was on vacation and gone for 8 weeks.
I wanted some auburn in my hair and that's what I got. It's not any more or less effective than drug store dye. It is, in fact, already washing out to a more muted auburn color, instead of the almost purple color it was to begin with. I kinda liked the purple, but I kinda like this color that it's turned into as well. I am by no means a hair color connoisseur. I do not regularly dye my hair. My hair is pretty healthy normally, but curly and frizzy without some hair oil (thanks ma). This didn't make my hair feel moisturized or more healthy than it was. Like I said, it's not more or less effective than any of the drugstore coloring products. The introductory price is definitely at the top of the price range i would purchase hair dye. It was super easy to apply and get a full coverage, no streaky peices or anything.

I have, unsuccessfully, tried to explain the color I wanted (the couple times I got brave enough to get my hair colored) in the past. So to be honest, I was more than a bit apprehensive. I bit the bullet. Each min that passed I got more nervous. What if it wasn't mixed enough? What if the color is uneven? See, I'm very hair stupid... I can barely braid. Thirty minutes lasped. I added water to the remainder and finished the instructions. Oh MY GOD!! The color is fabulous!! I have always just wanted the red highlights in my hair to be much more pronounced. I was able to get the EXACT color I'd always wanted, that no stylist ever got anywhere near close to, in a short time. All while sitting on the side of my bath tub! I think ya'll have a customer for life. (Sorry so long winded)
The first order, ended up with a bit too much red. I sent photos and my colorist recommended changes which on the second color looked great! I am especially delighted with the shampoo and conditioner -- NEVER after a hair color experience in a salon did my hair come out so soft, smooth, and healthy!
This hair color is long lasting - I can go 10 weeks between coloring, where I had been coloring with bargain brand every 4 weeks because the color had faded so much.
I have used your product 2 times now and love the color. It's perfect for me and last longer then store bought. My only negative comments is the price. A little high.
The first application was beautiful (likely due to the gloss add in product that was free for first time users), the second application was dull and weak, no gloss. The third application was better but not as nice as the first by far so I guess I have to have the gloss. Color and gloss cost $19.99 for the first order but now its $34.00+ I used to buy haircolor (same shade for 17 years) at $8 so this is much more costly but if I can have the look i got on the first application again it will be worth it - crossing my fingers.
I think the color matches pretty well, but the coverage could have been a bit better.
I am wondering if using more of the product will help; this is my first time coloring on my own.
While I was generally happy with the formula, I asked my colorist to adjust it slightly and she seems to have done it perfectly!! I still have some super stubborn grays that want to come back quickly, but they are few and far between with the new instructions.
I've been seeing the ads for some time, but hesitated in using the product because its an online salon and I don't do permanent color- I have also been doing my own hair for years; and I wanted a more salon professional color without going into a shop and spending a fortune. However, after reading the reviews and wanting to do something different and have expert advice at the same time, I decided to give eSalon a try. After getting all my info and a picture of my hair, eSalon added a second complimentary color for my ends to help begin the process of lightening and giving more richness to my current color - dark dark dark brown - almost black - as a result off all the root coloring I've been doing myself. I love the choice made for me along with the color for my roots! It's perfect, I can see the difference. eSalon was very helpful and responded to my questions right away. The only issue I had is my hair is very long, I could have used a second pair of hands to do the ends at the back. Next time I will enlist the help of someone. The instructions were very easy to follow and I had more than enough product for my hair length. I will use again.
Great product. I hate to cancel, but as of Nov. 28, 2016 I will no longer be receiving this product. Found someone to do it for me. So ya'll enjoy. No more shipments for me.
I have cancelled my pre shipment order almost a month now and would no longer like to receive any more of your products. Then I received an email from you that a shipment will be shipped the end on Nov 30...Please cancel this delivery or shipment as soon as you can....thank you. The product is too expensive and it takes too long to receive it that's the reason why I have cancelled my order previously...
I started with eSalon about 6 months ago and was immediately pleased with the color I got. However, I wanted to try and tweak it a bit to see if I could get it just a little darker. My colorist worked with me until we have what I think is the perfect cor for me.
When you say not to recolor any areas so it won't be darker, well it has been over a year since I overall colored it. I also went a shade lighter but it won't be until I do root color every 6 weeks the rest of the year that it will actually get to the shade that I like.
As always, I think the quality of your product is very good! I know I emailed about wanting the color to last longer for stubborn gray roots but I did like the original overall color. I think the color this time was "too brown" and not the same golden hues it had before. I can only image how difficult it is to get these requests on point from a photo or an email request! Maybe for the next order we can revisit my original color profile. I have shorter hair now and there is way too much product! I divided the contents evenly into a plastic "comb" bottle and stashed away the remainder for the second usage. I have done this every time actually. Thank you.
I was nervous about coloring my hair for the first time. My hair is straight, soft textured, and quite difficult to keep up in clips. In spite of my inexperience, the color turned out quite nice. Directions were easy to follow - except for the difficulty of clipping and reclipping my soft slippery hair!
I am happy with the root color but the gray coverage does not seem to last very long (a few weeks). The ends of my hair are still pretty light and does not hold the color. (these are from too many old highlights from last year).
First time was bit difficult and i took too long to apply the color so it came out really dark but the second time, I apply color pretty quickly And my hair color came out great !!!
HI, I know the packets you send for shampoo/conditioner are samples, but when washing the haircolor out of my hair there just isn't enough to make suds to really get all the hair color out. Along with the conditioner, there isn't enough to leave my hair conditioned and smooth. thank you
The color combination was perfect. I had asked that a new shipment be sent in September due to me completely shattering my right elbow on May 14th and I am right-handed so it was going to be difficult to apply the color without the use of my right arm. I have not received any further kits since this shipment in June and it now November! I am still having issues with my right arm. I have three pins set in the elbow holding everything together and it still hurts a lot but I want my hair color kit sent to me, please - thank you.
I was hoping this would perform as indicated, but apparently it does not work on white hair. My roots on top of my head are white and they do not hold the color each time I apply your dyes. Within days, it starts to fade back to pink. This product did not aid me. Please make sure I do not get on any repeat purchase program for it since it is ineffective for my issue.
Requested another kit of the same exact color and "customer service" wants another picture. I made an order (the 8th of the EXACT same color) that they will not process. Good luck to you trying to erase your credit card info. You have to put in false in info because of no "delete" button. going to beauty supply or salon if they won't process my order.
My hair naturally has red undertones. My hair stylist was dying the red out leaving more of a blonde/golden tone to it. With the cost of going to a salon getting outrageous, I decided to try eSalon. Unfortunately, though I love the ease and the color, the color still wasn't right. My hair now has all the red undertones back in it. I had them adjust it to more of a golden undertone, but the red is still there.
With that said, I think eSalon is a great product and much better for your hair than store bought product, but I'm headed back to my hair stylist to once again get all this red out of my hair. No easy way out for me :(
Everything about the products I really liked. From the gray coverage to the great smelling shampoo and conditioner. All my other colors would have my hair very dry and frizzy. Also it takes the guess work out of coloring.
I was having a hard time finding the right color esalons team suggested I send them a photo to do a personal color thank goodness I did I was way off .I know if I would have just put a photo in when asked it would've saved time alot of us don't like our pictures
Have had my hair colored at salon for many years - wasn't disappointed with color, but the grey coverage. Since using ESalon hair color the grey slowly reappears, but not the very next week (like the salon color did)
have a new colorist.....i like to change my color have fun and until recently I trusted my stylist but she did something I hated and I had to grab a box the next day and go over it since that I found esalon and now will use and do myself all the same fun techniques that I paid her cause I know how to do it i just paid her a fortune to do it....oh well so sad for her....
I just got done coloring my hair. I do hate the process of doing this but the product is fine except the smell is intense. I liked that it was thicker than the store bought one. I did it as directed. The color is fine except that it's redder than expected.
I love your hair color products, but I still feel that the color is too dark for me. I just need a little more contrast. The color seems one dimensional.
I had a slight issue with washing it out, I guess I didn't wash it out as well as I thought as there was an oily spot in my hair, so I washed it again and it was still there but better so I figured it would get better the next day when washed once more.
There is still a slight hint of redness that I wish were not there. But overall, I love the color and the extra among of product was just right for my thick hair.
I would like the color a little more on the blondish red than this darker red. The color looks good on me as far as my complexion but still a little dark
I love the color and I love the conditioner, but I'm not going to use that packet of shampoo ever again. It is impossible to get out of my hair. I washed it 4x myself and ended up having to go to a salon to have them do it.
