I very much like the color. Nearly dead on match to my young adult natural color. I am 69 now, though, and think I would like it to be bit warmer or more golden so the contrast with my skin is not as great.
Finally used despite having 1 inch roots due to lockdown. Was a bit faffy and more complicated than those at boots but results are great. Will see how it looks in a month. Might go slightly lighter. Only problem how do I tell me my hairdresser she has done my colour for 15 years
So the day salons closed here due to Clovid, I had highlights put in my dark brown hair, hoping with the additional toner that things would work out for a while. I have waist length, thick hair. Given the quarantine, I haven’t been washing it frequently, as it is a chore. Even so, the toner prob didn’t set long enough at the salon and I was a brass (Sun-In) looking mess. I wish I could provide the before and after pictures!!
I liked that Esalon provided a questionnaire and could take my (Native American) skin and hair tones into account.
When the kit arrived, it said the color chosen was dark brown, which freaked me out a little bit. Made me think of store bought dark brown, which is REALLY dark. Having uploaded a pic in the consult, and reading reviews, I went for it!!
Awesome!! Even though the picture I submitted was trash and no where close to my natural color, I colored it today and I am so pleased with the result!! Be not afraid! Absolutely worth it! And the quality was wonderful. Not all drippy like store bought hair color. My kit came with a bottle of color for roots and a bottle for my length. I had more than enough leftover to lather up with for step 3, (you put water in the developer bottle and lather the leftovers into your hair).
I typically use salon Moroccan shampoo, but the shampoo is a dream!! Like I said, my hair is super long. I squeezed out about half of the packet and it was a foamy slice of heaven.
I plan to subscribe to the shampoo and will continue the color as well.
Treat yo self ladies! No regrets here!
I finally just got my hair done with this brown color, it turned out to being very beautiful and so I think that i might be sticking with it. But I'm not sure yet.
Wow! Worth every cent if you don't have gray issues

Update: unfortunately the gray roots came back in about 3 weeks and I can't afford to keep paying this price for a root touchup.
I wish I could give you 5 stars. Loved the color, but I could not keep it on the required time because the smell was too strong and affected my breathing. I've never had a color that burned my eyes from the fumes before. It's me not you. so sorry
My custom root tint was a perfect match. However, instructions did not advise me to keep color on an additional 10-15 minutes for grey-resistant hair. Luckily I didn’t use the full bottle on first application but I had to reapply in some areas after washing/drying. Just an FYI. Also, hard pass on the shampoo/conditioner included. Overall very pleased with this service.
It was easy, hair felt great, did not ruin my highlights. My only issue_ did not cover stubborn grays and they are right in the front. :( I followed instruction s to a T &n redid same spot 3 times, still did not work. I am hoping it colorist will change formula before my next shipment schedule May 1st. HELP!!!
Pros- very low price made this first try a low risk experience. The colorist corrected my selection and was right! Color is very nice although I just needed to touch up basic med brown roots.
Cons- no bowl or protective cape were provided; I improvised and wore a garbage bag.... instructions had no illustrations to help. My biggest annoyance was the fact that plastic clips didn’t come with the set. No message of any kind anywhere prepped me with saying please buy plastic clips.. I couldn’t divide my hair and it was a torture. I couldn’t do the back of my head as I didn’t have clips and also messed up the front so the end result is that under daylight my roots are still visible. I would need to buy the kit again with add on clips in order to fix this properly. But overall this has potential! I will keep going to the salon unless I get this figured out :)
This is a fairly good product overall, but no one can match my hair like I do. Typically, I buy two or three boxes of drugstore (Revlon has no ammonia) and mix my own custom color. My hair has an ash cast to it, but I guess that didn't read in the photo or my remarks to the colorist because the color was the right shade, just not the right hue. It was WAY TOO RED, so now I have red roots and brown hair. I know it's hard to tell from a photo... I've used this company in the past, so I may give them another try.
I just received the order on Friday, April 24th. It took longer than I expected for the delivery. The colour was good but I had a difficult time applying to the back of my head and I missed a big area at the top because of the clips still in place. I also feel like I need a hair salon sink for the rinsing because my bathroom is very small and I did not want to get the hair colour all over the bathroom.
Please change my account I didn't want to be on auto-ship every 5 weeks I will order when I need it please change it I recommended your company to a lot of people but I will control when I need it my hair salon should be opening next month
Excellent coverage albeit a bit messy. The smell is what really gets you when you're washing the color out of your hair but I think the color came out exactly as pictured. I have black brown hair so it's hard to tell but the pigment did deposit onto the highlighted brassy parts of my hair nicely.
I like just about everything about this service. The color is terrific, it lasts, and I like the kit that comes every time. What I don’t like is all the packaging. If there was a way to opt in for less packaging and just reuse the bottle and/or bowl rather than getting all the plastic each delivery, then I would rate 5 stars.
Loved the way it turned out, and loved the detailed box with everything in it. I stopped the next auto order luckily. Why would I color my hair again in 3 weeks??? I didnt know I was on "auto color".
I didn't sign up for another box in 3 weeks. That was so wrong, that I might find another online color place.

I really love the color, it's brilliant, and has a very natural effect. The shipment basically got lost, so it arrived much later than I expected. Also, after the first use now I see I have to get it more frequently because it covers gray hair for up to 5 weeks and not longer...

Color products are easy to use and leave my hair soft. Also, they don't have a strong smell. I love that I can adjust my order and request adjustments to my color. My only complaint/comment is that I need to remember to super-saturate the parts of my hair that are more color-resistant because it takes a lot of product to cover the grey in those spots.
I usually have my hair professionally colored every 5-6 weeks. Unfortunately, due to the Covid Pandemic, I am unable to meet up with my hair colorist for my scheduled appointment. Walking around with my grey roots is not something I want to do and so I found out about eSalon via Youtube. I was skeptical at first, but saw such positive reviews through different Youtube people that I decided to try it. Product came in a lovely box and personalized just for me. The results are wonderful. Although it was difficult to color my own hair (mostly the back of it), the final outcome was great. My hair looked shiny and 99% of my greys were covered. The other 1% that wasn't covered, was due to, accidently applying some of the protection staining cream, onto my temple greys. Now that I know this, next time, I will be able to avoid this and get 100% grey coverage. I will be saving over $100 every 5-6 weeks from now on, as I will be using eSalon from here on out. I'll continue to visit my hair stylist for a hair cut only. I will definitely recommend this product to my friends and family.
I have light blonde hair and the color was good, but can see a little of the grey at roots, so perhaps I should have let it process a little more than 30 minutes? Will try again next month.
When I read the information about the product, it mentioned a lot of good things and that it was free of lots of chemicals; when you open the color bottle, it smells a lot and as you are coloring your hair it smells pretty bad too
Even though I left it on longer than suggested because I have very stubborn gray, it still came out a lighter shade on my roots than the rest of my hair. It’s subtle but I can see the roots coloring vs the other color
It blended perfectly with my roots, but doesn't cover gray very well. Needs to have gray coverage. Will try one more shipment and hopefully it will work better if it has something added for gray.
Before I found E-Salon, I went to a professional salon three times for my color. It turned out absolutely horrible. I asked for a golden light brown with a hint of copper highlights, and my hair turned out to be pure orange. The next time I went another so-called pro and she made my hair a purplish-red.. another catastrophe! And, the next time I worked with a third so-called 'color expert' and this time my hair color turned out to be a deep burgundy. I just hated my hair. Even my doctor looked at me and said, 'What on earth did you do to your hair color?" That is when I decided to either go back to using color in a box which never worked well for me or to try E-Salon. I decided to give E-Salon a try.
I have dyed my hair three times now using E-Salon's custom hair color. The first time I told my colorist I wanted to calm down the burgundy color and make it more coppery. It worked exactly right. The second time I asked for their lightest brown with a little golden hues in it. I got EXACTLY what I wanted! Well, today was the third time I used E-Salon color going with a repeat of my last order, and I love it even more this time than the last.
I have learned a lot about hair coloring from E-Salon. Their instructions really are different than color in a box. When I do my final three to five minute rinse through my hair ends by combining the leftover color in the applicator with water, it really does blend the ends beautifully. This is a step I never did before and I really believe this is key to make my all over color blend so well. I cannot thank E-Salon colorists enough for their expertise and for always being here to help me if I need anything at all. I will always stay with E-Salon going forward!! I recommend them 100% !!
I love the way this product leaves my hair feeling. I just can't get the color red enough. I really wanted a vibrant red. This one was somewhat lighter but still looks like a lighter brownish purple...
During this corona business, my hair was looking just dreadful. Grey was showing through by nearly 2 inches and the colour was almost ginger. i was nervous about using the colour as I normally pay over £100 in my usual salon.
From the start, the whole kit looked so professional and personalised which is a lovely touch.
I bought the extra kit , so the bowl, brush, clips and I'm glad I did. There was no cape but I just cut a hole in a large charity plastic bag and put my head through it and it was fine. It looked quite dark during processing and I was a bit worried but being in lockdown I thought it wouldn't matter anyway. After I had dried and styled it, I was really thrilled. it is a perfect color. Just need it cutting now1 But at least I feel human again. Thanka you so much. You have made my day.

Haven't colored my hair at home for over 20 years but your color was truly amazing. As good or even better than how my hair looks after going to a salon. A little hard, logistically, to pin my hair up since I have very thick and very curly hair. The only problem I would note is that because my hair is very thick, there wasn't enough color to completely cover all the roots and then pull some color through ends as noted in the directions.
Application easy but I don’t like the color (I choose wrong color) and didn’t get all the grey colored. How long to wait before I color again
And. I didn’t feel there were enough choices
I was impressed with the color and how it matched my hair but after 3 weeks the gray is already showing through. I can make it 8 weeks with a hair color from the salon.
I like the color overall but the dark blonde turned out to have deep orange/red tones. I will connect with my colorist to see if we can work on the color.
This is a message and not a review. I’m in Australia and do not know when I’ll be able to return to the US. All international travel is banned. I moved my next shipment out to November but will contact you if I res turn to Colorado before then.

Left color on recommended 30 minutes did not get good coverage of gray. I have short hair & I ordered light brown ends absorbed much darker. Color darker than I usually wear. Doesn't look terrible just not great.
My first order was March 8, I received the product 5 days later, which was very good.
My second auto order was April 8, today is April 18 and I still do not have my product. Ten days since my account was charged, my hair is in desperate need for a color. Tracking report shows delivery today, if I don't receive it, I'll be forced to buy a box color from retail store.

But the next time I want to see blonde color this time I want to see blonde and red but I didn't see the blonde at all. Never had anyone say anything bad about my color .if there is blonde in my hair I don't see it at all
So I think I might have to get two different colors just to get what I want

I've been going to the salon to cover my grays for YEARS. I've never dyed my own hair before, and I've never even helped a friend dye theirs. So my experience level in this department was lacking and I had always let the professionals do their thing.
Well. Now that salons are temporarily closed, I needed to find an option to maintain my roots. My hair is naturally very dark and it now grows in mostly gray. This means I have a crazy stripe when my roots grow in that's highly visible and not a great look for video calls with clients (which is just life right now). I tried eSalon and I'm so impressed by the color matching, gray coverage, and quality of the products. I missed some spots in the application since it was my first time, but that's my own fault. I'll get better the more I practice.
Thank you to the whole team for their work in keeping a sense of normalcy with all the chaos going on in the world. The customer service was amazing, and I know everyone is working hard to keep the lights on with all the social distancing regulations in place. You're all so appreciated and I can't wait to try again in a few weeks when my next kit ships!
The color matches my salon color perfectly. My only issue is that I am missing my highlights given that my stylist refreshes them every month. However, the eSalon color does not overwhelm the existing highlights.
My hair does grow quickly so I am requiring color every two weeks instead of every three weeks.

The color match was great! However, after shampooing out color it's a good thing I saved some in the bottle so I could reapply on grays. Was difficult for me to use the bowl and brush as recommended and clip hair into sections as I missed spots. Easier to use the bottle tip to target areas. When you consider the shipping fees it's not inexpensive.
Just tweaked from the first time to cover gray. Covered all the gray this time (and I'm more experienced.) Timing is longer...follow the instructions! Pros: perfection! Cons: for us older people, larger print for instructions would be ideal, then glasses do not need to come on and off. I love this product plus all the help available!

The COVID lock down produces very sad grey on red on brown look for me. The color test was excellent, shipment timely and instructions easy to follow. I had my daughter apply it and we had no problems. Great grey coverage and beautiful shine
I like the colour a lot, very nice. My only complaint would be that less than two weeks after I coloured some of my greys are popping through, it's not a huge deal but will try to make sure I apply it so that I cover all of my hair really well next time.
My color was damn near a perfect match to the top and front of my hair. So, I bet your wondering why I only gave it a 4 then. I’m my vast experience of colorings over the years, I know that color fades slightly. And, given that, my root match on the underside layers is a touch lighter than existing color. Alas....I no longer have my silver lining and passerby’s probably wouldn’t notice what I do! I’m hoping the next will be even better! Don’t let the Quarantine stop you from feeling beautiful, give it a try!
The color was a great match, which should be the most important thing. But, I was more relieved that the instructions were so easy to read. Went smoothly, looks great.
While very, very "afraid" to do my own color, I've now completed my first order.
I was very pleased with the customer service and the speed of answering several of my questions (and I have a new one as of today.)
Thoughts: I am going to try using the bottle method rather than the brush. It's sooo sloppy and I ended up with color on my counter top and wall (enough so that I need to repaint a spot.)
The color bled through my gloves and my right hand and nails were a mess. So guess I'll double up on two pairs of gloves.
I have very hard impenetrable roots and it's so-so on them. I've had to use my Loreal spray on color at the crown and at my part. Next time, I'll hit those areas double hard.
But all in all...it's a good product and I'm going to reorder.
The color and coverage of the product is very good. I didn’t care for the shampoo and conditioner that came with the product as my hair seemed very dry after using it after coloring. I would continue using hair color.
This was my first time using eSalon. The application process was similar to other home-dye hair kits I have used in the past. However, eSalon included an additional step after colouring and before rinsing off, which the instructions stressed should not be skipped. I had to fill the empty tint bottle with water, shake it up and then apply all over my head and massage in for 2-3 minutes. I imagine that this is to 'loosen' the tint and make it easier to rinse out, as well as making sure it had been applied evenly. This was an incredibly messy process. My daughter was helping me, so I hung my head over the bath while she applied it and massaged it in. It went everywhere; I don't think I would have managed this on my own without making an awful mess. Also, the formulation of the tint had a very strong ammonia smell. My daughter said it made her eyes sting when applying it. Although my hair has been thoroughly rinsed and washed, there is still a faint ammonia whiff some hours later.
Having said all that, the colour is spot on. My hair feels soft and looks shiny. All greys are banished (for now!) I am not sure if I would order this product again at the full price. I have had equally good results from other off-the-shelf kits, many of which were not so malodorous and were easier to apply.
While I'm trying to adjust to this brighter color of red; my colleagues seem to like it. I must have missed some areas so the older color looks like highlights which is pretty cool. I expected a bit browner red - it's hard to try and match a color especially since this is not my field of excellence, but I think I did okay!!
I have all of my life wanted to be a redhead. I was the kid that watched The Little Mermaid many times. I LOVED her hair. Growing up my hair was light blonde which settled into a unflattering dark ashy blonde tone by adulthood.
It did nothing for my complexion. I was told by multiple hair colorists in my area achieving red hair on my hair wasn't possible. ESalon colorist Tamara proved them wrong , listened to what type of red I wanted, & formulated a red that would look natural yet vibrant with my skin tone.
Such a lovely touch to have it tailer made, including the dye remover as I’m a little messy at applying.
My only issue was the colour I picked was a shade too light but that was my error totally.
I used my color at home yesterday and it was fast and easy. I feel like leaving it on for 35 min may have been too long as the color is darker than I expected it to be and darker than I wanted it. Not enough red/gold and too much brown.
I think that you should print instructions larger type as those of us who need to cover our grey also may need reading glasses! Also, better instructions on how to do the back of your own head would be helpful
The process was easy enough. Difficult to see the back of my head and do what was needed.
I like my new color. But it is more red briwn than ash brown. It's a nice red for me. . .I think. Now my brows really stand out. Not in a good way. Dont seem to go with my hair. Any ideas suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you,.Marie

Covered all the gray and gave the depth of color I was looking for. I did choose a medium brown, and do wish I would have gone a little lighter. Overall- I love the product and will reorder.
The color was great! I loved the feel of my hair after. The coverage of gray was fantastic. I would have given it 5 stars if I had received the brush that it said I would get with this order. I had to buy a paint brush and cut it down. It worked but not the greatest. I wish they would include the brush!
One thing I would like info on is the color isn’t as dark on my roots compared to rest of my hair. I left color on for 30 mins. Used leftover for all over color in shower. First time user so just wondering if I need to leave in longer next time.
I really liked the color I chose but I'm about 22 days out and I am noticing some loss of color near my ears. Don't know if my daughter who is a hairdresser didn't color that area enough or the dye is just fading. I use shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair so I don't think it's the products. Overall, I liked the color.
My hair was really black with gray around the edges,so the color took more around the edges and dark brown on the other parts of the hair.
Looking to get a deep red color,auburn color.
I think the packaging could be a little more environmentally friendly. Sure we all love a nice presentation but I would have been happy with the product in one plain brown box. Just sayin'
The color of the tube and the color of the print have very little contrast and is impossible to read. I cannot use a product without having readable instructions.
The color was easy to apply and did a good job of covering my greys. However, the conditioner was not very good, there was not nearly enough, and it left my hair knotty and tangled. I had to use a different conditioner following to get my hair back to its usual easy to comb texture.
Would have given 5 stars if the gloves fit—- too small for my arthritic hands and the bottle was difficult to squeeze so I had to use a bowl/brush
But product w shampoo/conditioner and color were great
Great alternative to salon colouring if time short and budget tight!

I loved the colour however this time I’ve asked to go a bit lighter as it came up slightly darker than planned. My hair has remained healthy with multi tones and certainly doesn’t look flat.
The color of the roots for gray coverage was just a shade darker. I received darkest brown and maybe I should go with dark brown. All in all I loved it for my first time and I look forward to my next color treatment. Thank you for making it so easy at home!
