I want less brown and more purple. I can barely see the purple. Product is good for the first order but the second I'm.paying 2x more and get 1/2 of what I got in order 1. $34.00 for root touch up. Last time I order
Color was perfect, I didn't get hot roots, and it was easy to use. The only thing I might take one sparkle off one star for is my second pair of gloves ripped apart when I put them on. I think they were smaller than the first pair.
Love the color finally!! My color stylist suggested ash and it worked perfectly to get rid of the unwanted red/black/orange tones. It took several times but I'm happy with the color. Only thing is after a couple of weeks my roots at my part line start to fade and turn gray. That's only reason for the 4 stars instead if 5.

In all my years of going to a hairdresser, I never had to color my own hair. Since the economy changed and I needed to learn how to conserve, I started using a do-it-yourself hair color that I liked, Clairol Foam, #9, however, it was discontinued. My hair is 80% grey now, which means I have to color approximately every 6-8 weeks. It was getting very expensive. When I was online reading the Allure Magazine and saw a section called E-Salon, I stopped in my tracks. The article was very informative. So, I informed the colorist assigned to me that I wanted to replicate the color that Clairol Foam #9 product was giving me (blonde with variable color highlighting). Oh my gosh, the color turned out perfect. Exactly what I wanted, even better. So natural!! The packaging of the products sent with your first order, and thereafter, is first class. And, they personalize each order! I started on the auto-delivery program right away. I have purchased your leave in conditioner as well...great! I have been with the program for about a year now, very happy! Thank You E-Salon for your high standards and professionalism.
I was not quite sure I would get the color correct because, color on a swatch on a phone could l ook completely different than what shows up. I didn't realize that there were 2 different colors in my kit, but they both look great. I do like color for the ends better, bottle 2. I thought this was ammonia free, but its not. I made the mistake of taking a big whiff an of course gaged. Love the color.
The only thing I wasn't too excited about was the fact that it faded/washed out REALLY fast. Not sure if it's because my hair was bleached before or if it's just the hair dye itself. Also wish I could pick out my new hair color myself and not have to message my stylist with how much or less of certain colors I want....
Had to leave 5stars so people can see.
I ordered last year once, cancelled and they still sending even after canceling my plan. I just received one more email from them saying that was shipped.
I have photos showing the ugly color almost red, not black at all!!!
The color looks nice, but it fades fast and it goes down into a weird yellow color. I’m not fond of and the grays are not staying covered very long. There’s not enough shine.
I have used Esalon for some time now. I am happy with how it leaves my hair and how well it covers greys. But on my hair at least some washes out (the water is definitely 'coloured' the first few times I wash my hair after colouring). I don't go back to my natural colour but instead of the dark blonde warm beige shade I started with it ends up more light/mid blonde. So I tried light brown warm beige with my last order. Obviously it came out a darker shade than before, but after a week's washing my hair lightened and has stayed at a lovely colour of dark blonde with a hint of gold that shines in the sun. I am very happy with it now.
I have always done my own dye I bought it at Walmart or CVS L’Oréal blonde lightest blonde but never did it turn out like E salon has my hair looking seriously everyone thinks I went to a salon ty e salon!!
OK here it goes- My hair is naturally jet black, and recently I dyed it a copper color. My hair grows pretty fast and I have so many greys so I have to keep going back to my stylist every 6 weeks or so because it’s so noticeable. I have tried box dye from the drug store but it never works the same as salon quality hair dye and that’s mainly because it’s more expensive, and consumers aren’t able to purchase professional color, you need a cosmetologist license to do that (unfortunately). Cheap hair dye will only color my greys, but won’t color my natural black hair. SO, I decided to give this a try and I’m SO HAPPY I DID! this worked JUST AS GOOD as when I go to my stylist and it was 10000000% cheaper. It actually dyed my black hair!!! I’m so happy! I already recommended it to my friends and family. At this rate, I think I’ll only be seeing my stylist maybe 2 to 3 times a year.
I love e-salon but this last time it lightened my roots and I always do those first. Don’t know what happened this time? I did everything as directed. It usually does an awesome job!
I have used eSalon in the past, although it had been a while, so I was excited to use it again. Unfortunately, although the bonus roots and ends bottles supplied more than enough dye for medium/long hair, it came out a bit uneven in tone. My roots came out a bit more auburn and my ends a bit more chocolate/espresso colored. I was hoping for the opposite effect. Perhaps, the roots and ends bottles were mislabeled? I did use it exactly as directed, took the time to part my hair, brushing out each section, applying to each section and setting a timer for each part. Of note, the hair was clean and free of product (I rarely use any product or styling tools). It isn't 'bad,' it is just that I was expecting the opposite effect - darker roots and lighter ends. Although it is probably only noticeable to me, it is not bothersome enough to need to correct through a salon/stylist. I will be optimistic that the next set I receive will turn out more even.
Color box has everything needed to prep and color hair. I like the customized color. The only issue I'm having is with it covering all my greys by my ear area. Even leaving it on longer than suggested.
I have been ordering your product for a long time this last order I received was a quarter of the liquid in the bottle not enough to do my head I am very dissatisfied with the service
I needed to saturate my mids and ends more but if I had, I would only have been able to do half of my head; I have very thick hair. I like the color, it did well on my roots with how much I was able to apply there and with letting it sit longer. However, the rest of my hair, not so much. The highlights sucked the color up well, but for the most part, I needed more color and to let it sit longer. If I didn’t have to put another application on right away, I would have given it 5 stars.
This was my first time using esalon, I love the color, I love the way my hair looks and feels after I used the color but unfortunately it didn’t cover my grey and since the only reason I wanted to color my hair was to cover the grey, I don’t see a reason to buy it again.
The color is spot on and I'm thrilled with that (per the 4 stars) but it does not cover the gray for longer than 2 washings max. That's really disappointing to me.
I was looking for a natural deep red, the instructions said to leave in hair for a certain amount of time but I don't think I left it in long enough to get the results that I had hoped for. You could still see the lines from my roots and the color just wasn't as vibrant as I had hoped. I am hoping next color I receive will go better!
So delighted with the ecolour. I unfortunately am unable to use it as I am now on steroids and have Polymyalgia rheumatica. I have had to have my hair cropped and it is now more grey than before. I have passed the product to my daughter and recommended both my daughter's to esalon.
The colour looks amazing on me. However, my stubborn grey coverage was average and I felt it could have been better. Apart from that this is a wonderful product.
I just wanted to thank you for always addressing my concerns and my many changes in color! I get bored with my natural color and like to change it up sometimes, but I’m in LOVE with my current color and hope I can maintain it. You guys are truly experts and your color products are exceptional!
2nd order was a better adjustment. It's hard to find a Demi permanent color in a beauty supply store nowadays. Only cons is it is expensive for a home hair coloring system and it takes a long time to rinse out. By the way I locs past my shoulders and this works well on them.
My first color was not good, this one is not as red and has the cooler tones I was looking for. The 15 Vol did not cover the gray as well as the 20 Vol.
This kit is brilliant! They make everything so user friendly and I had such a great time using everything. I’m just really sad that my color didn’t come out how I had expected. It hardly changed at all.
I like how this color did not leave my hair as red as other colors I have tried. It was darker than anticipated, but that is probably healthier for my hair -my hair does look shinier which I appreciate. The only issue is there are still some itty bitty grays on the frontmost part of my hairline even though I soaked that hair and left 10 minutes longer than indicated!
Well, it covered my roots, but I guess I waited too long, because the rest of my hair is a completely different color. I’m hoping the root color fades a bit soon. I might want to adjust the color next time. I want it less dark.
So I just received my product from eSalon I was really excited to finally use it well I did but my hair die exploited all over my bathroom I just wanted to know how could that happen if you need pictures I can try to send them but just wanted to let you know
I love the rich, reddish brown color. Unfortunately it didn’t cover 100% of my gray. I don’t have a lot of gray hair, but I guess it’s stubborn. I’m going to do it again and I hope it fully colors the gray this time.
Wanted to go lighter with an ash tone and it worked.

Have been dying my quite grey hair medium brown for a long time (different product). I switched to e salon hoping for a better color result (less red tones). Using the light ash brown, I got the color I wanted and used light set to lighten sections of my darker hair while it grows out.
The idea of an at home salon quality color is amazing and love the option to have a custom made color. I have a few complaints that were enough for me to cancel after my trial. 1. I didn't love my color. It's fine, it looks different than when I started and it was good but not great. It wasn't super vibrant and I felt like I could have achieved the same result with the $6 box from the drugstore. 2. My hair is so dry. Sahara desert. It feels like straw. I have not colored my hair in well over 3 years so I had silky soft extremely healthy hair. I know all hair color is damaging to some degree but I wasn't expecting the life to be sucked out of my hair in 30 mins or less. I think eSalon is a great idea but I think it just needs a little more love in the system to get it perfected.
Amazing..you are a great team with an amazing colour that I can't get at home...

Love the colour match and how much better quality it is than a regular box dye. My only fault is it is fairly expensive for an at home colour and then on top of that it’s nearly £5 delivery. It’s a lot and not something I can justify spending long term.
The colour match was perfect. Personally I found I had far too much colour and had to throw at least half away as it was mixed and couldn’t be saved for next time - I could have managed with half the amount. Perhaps you could consider a smaller size for root touch-ups between more overall colour refreshes are needed?
I ordered dark brown (intense pearl) as 8 usually get medium brown and it's to light.
1 it colored my few Grey's perfectly
2 it is darker than my natural but amazing
3 I have always wanted to color my hair some fun colors but never wanted to much. Its just enough red/purple tint.
The only flaw was that my hair seemed dryer/damaged than usual. I just bought some new color safe shampoo to help, and it seems to be.
The color was beautiful and I loved that it didn’t burn/ itch like box colors. Unfortunately it only tinted my grays with the tint fading during the first week. Planning to try it again and leave on a little longer before giving up though!

it seems a big 'hot' or too bright still - better than last time, but still the color can look a bit overly strong and come off not natural enough.
I don't know if the 'fix' would be to tone down the red? (go ab it more in the darker blonde direction ? and/or if there's a 'toning ' change that would make it better? thanks! and i'll call in as well. looking forward to getting there with you guys! :)
PS - i consulted with Arianna and she was great! she suggested a swap between the golden and the dark blonde - i believe..? all i want to make sure is that it still will look RED - just not as bright or 'brash' - that's my only lingering concern at this time...thanks so much!
First time using and I'm happy with the end result. I only used on my roots and it did a great job blending with my previous color and at covering my grays. Four stars, because my kit didn't come with the shampoo and conditioner that it's supposed to include.
I’ve spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours in salons. My hair dresser basically owns my hair for the last 10 years - until this product. I’m actually afraid to go back to her and tell her!
I have been a "chemically induced" redhead for 20+ years3 (home/salon). However, since COVID + stopped undertaking salon services, red hair color had been much more difficult to source. Drug store reds are either too dark or dull.
On a whim, I decided to try esalon for the first time last night (01/25/23).
The blond-red is BEAUTIFUL. Whenever I went, I got compliments! The only issue I found disappointing was that the dye did not cover my gray/white hair around the face even with a 40min application. Please advise. I do not want to have this gray until my next color in 5 weeks.
My color was much better than past versions (THANK YOU to the team for listening to feedback and adjusting it!), but it faded within the first week so it's slightly lighter than I'd like. Not a huge deal - I'll ask the colorists to adjust going forward!
As a note, I recently got my hair cut and mentioned I might color it, too. He asked who had done my last color because it looked so good (shiny, lots of depth), and was floored when I said it was an at-home kit!
I needed to cover grays and some old highlights . Going to the store has never been successful and I always end up with a crappy color I know I will hate. I was very hesitant about using this product, even as I applied it I was saying “Oh crud, it’s going to horrible !”, especially I saw tints of red coming through the brown. The color was copper brown btw . However , as I pulled my towel off after my shower , I was SO HAPPY! It’s like my color ! Like how the heck did they get so close ! I had planned on canceling after I got my $10 box , but I can’t now because they have my color ! Lol
I didn’t think I would like the colour because it wasn’t as light as what I had been using. All I can say is wow- it was the perfect colour for my skin tone. I would never have picked it off the shelf but I can’t believe the difference. It has just enough warm to make my green eyes pop. The colour was pretty easy to use but I didn’t find the squeeze bottle that flexible. I will likely use the colour bowl and brush method next time. Also, my roots are always fussy and need toning with my old colour but this colour came out perfect root to tip, even though my ends were very light
It was okay, but it was very much orange and brassy. I have hair to my waist, and it's thick; 1 bottle did not cover enough. Shampoo and conditioner were nice.
I was excited to learn that e-salon had introduced an ammonia-free version of the permanent color. I tried it for several colorings - and while the color looked ok to start, it faded quickly and lacked the brilliant shine I was used to on my mahogany/copper/highlighted hair. When I last saw my stylist (haircuts, only) I mentioned the issue, and she immediately told me to go back to the ammonia formula, which I have instructed my colorist to change back. Not sure why the ammonia-free color was dull and faded, but as I understand the technology, the ammonia opens up the hair cuticle which allows the color to penetrate deeper into the hair shaft and therefore produce more shine and depth of color. I am hoping my next coloring with the ammonia based formula restores my color to the shiny, deep color I have been used to.
Im satisfied with my order but wish I could get the toner at a lower price. I don’t need it every time I color my hair just every other month. So I go to Sally’s and buy it. The price of the color is a little more than I thought I would be paying.
Happy to finally find a light brown shade that doesn’t turn out black. I have almost 50% grays and this color covered my roots (6.71 Light Brown Matte Ash). I advise that you divide your hair in 6 sections for better application and gray coverage. I purchased it again and will continue to use it for root touch up.
In the other hand, I had a negative experience with the “light to medium brunette toner” should not be advertised as a “toner”. My experience with that product is that it is a BLACK Demi-permanent color that doesn’t tone but darkens any shade you have in your hair. I would refrain from recommending it to anyone with even dark brown hair.
It’s a risk to buy a color from somewhere and not be sure of what it will look like. The color came out pretty well actually. I just wish it had a bit more of a red tint to it. It just came out pretty dark brown.
Although the cost is a bit more that I would spend but I do think it’s worth it because the after effects of how my hair feels is really soft and not dried out. I have locs so it’s not so easy for my hair to have that nice softness immediately. With other dyes I have used my hair always feels dry and rough for weeks. So I will be continuing my subscription.
I am trying to contact someone here to ask if I can use a 20 volume instead of the 15 volume? The last color I was given had 20 volume and not sure why but the 2nd color that I adjusted was 15 volume. Love the color but I need my grays to be colored.
I’ve been dying my hair myself on and off 20 years. The packaging is great but there was more to it then I was expecting. I’m not a neat person and there was a lot of product and it was everywhere in the bathroom. Way more than when I buy a normal high street colour.
Wanting to have red tones I panicked that it would be a fake red. But I have to say I am so surprised at how perfect the colour is as to what I wanted ( which wasn’t easy
To get without looking a bit fake and it doesn’t) it was worth all the mess and now I know for next time to plan the treatment a bit better. I would 100% buy this product again.
