I love the product. The color was a great choice. It's now 2 weeks into the color and it looks just a bit lighter. The color covered my gray completely. I may just go one shade darker because of the oxidation.
Over the years, I've used Sun In to highlight my hair. But, as I've gotten older, I've realized that it doesn't cover the gray hairs. So, I've started looking for a product to start coloring my hair. (I've also used the temporary hair colors over the years, but wasn't that thrilled with them.) When I placed my first order, the person who helped me to select the right color was awesome. She realized that the color I had chosen was incorrect for me and knew exactly which one to choose! It was perfect and I've received MANY compliments since using your hair color (and shampoo/conditioner). (People say they like it better than the Sun In color!) Thank you so much for a great product that truly does look great, easy to use and clean up!
Better than salon color and more affordable. Would never go back to salon for base color except to get highlights. Wish eSalon customized a formula so we could do our own highlighting.
I have not used liquid color for years. I have gone total cream for so long I completely forgot how easy it was to apply and work with liquid coloring.. I am really pleased with you products. the only thing I have a problem with are your prices. Being on Social Security is really hard and I cannot afford to double my cost in hair coloring.

Silver haired and finally convinced to color my hair. Product and instructions easy to use and follow. Has taken a week or so and seems to have darkened a shade or two since first day. My hair feels great, I like the look, everyone says I should go just a little darker. Covers the gray ok. Still don't know about the long run outcome.
About 2 weeks after I first colored my hair with your product, I got a body wave. It hardly oxidized my color. Just colored my hair 2 weeks after body wave and still loving how it makes my hair feel.
Being partialy handicapped it's hard for me to color my hair so my sister-in-law does it for me. Although the instructions are easy to read and follow it took us a couple of tries to perfect the whole procedure. She's not a beautician and was petrified that she would ruin my hair. If I have a question the employees are always there to help. I called once to tell them the color wasn't covering some of my gray hair. The technician listened to my concerns and adjusted the formula and its been perfect since. My color is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! I've had strangers actually come up and tell me I've got gorgeous hair. When I tell them it's dyed they can't believe it because it looks so natural. Of course, I tell them how and where they can get the same results. I've been a satisfied customer since September of 2014.
The made for you hair color is a great match for me because it matches my roots that come in. My hair used to be light blonde but has been coming in darker as I get older so it's best to have a darker blonde. The new mixture turned out pretty. Hair color tends to bring out the red in my hair but the mixture did not turn my hair orange, which is the problem I have had in the past with over the counter hair colors.
I have been using the e-salon custom hair color for a couple of years now. They have customized the color to my liking. I don't think I will ever go back to store bought hair color.
The color change recommendation was right on time. At first when I applied the color I thought it was going to turn out bright red. That's not what I was going for. When I rinsed it out,

Giving up dark blonde and admitting I really have mousy brown hair led me to make my first order. I had no idea what I was doing (It was the first time I've ever colored my hair by myself) and selected a color I thought I would like, but it turned out I didn't. The color itself looked fantastic and I got a ton of comments - I just didn't like it. I left feedback and was able to talk with a live person who helped me problem solve. Just finished applying my second order and absolutely love my hair! It's good to know that eSalon cares and is responsive!
I had tried all the hair colourants on the shelves, so many in fact that I started making a list so that I didn't make the mistake of getting the same one again. They either made no difference to the colour of my hair or was too dark which makes me look ill, too light makes me look old. eSalon has changed all that I'm now more than satisfied with my colour, it's exactly what I've been looking for, for about 14 years.
It was a little dark to start with but it lightened up just fine. I have been pleased and my hair stylist was shocked how good the color was & the great job I did.
After reviewing my pre photos, my stylist picked a different color than I originally asked for, so I was a little apprehensive. Especially after reading some very negative comments on a Facebook advertisement post (where I had first hear of the site) mostly from what I now assume were professional stylists trying to ward off Esalon's potential new customers. However; in the end, I agreed to the Esalon stylist's suggestion and went for it. I was pretty excited when it arrived! The box itself was adorable. I carefully followed the instructions exactly, even though it was quite edifferent than the store box brands I'd used before! Well let me just say, I am beyond satisfied!! The color is amazing, all the greys are covered, from root to tip the shade is flawless (even though I had a severe line going on), and to top it all off there wasn't a strong chemical smell to my hair after using the complimentary shampoo and conditioner. I'm soooo hooked! Consider me a customer for life!
The colour match and advice was spot on. The shampoo and conditioner were also fab. My curls were lovely and shiny afterwards which I haven't had previously with store bought dyes.
After 3 weeks my roots are coming through unfortunately.
We're trying to save money this year and pay off our debt. So, I decided to try this. It works good. The gray seems to not take so well....I tried to put ALOT on it. But, overall I like it!
I liked the hair color you matched me with. Didn't cover the grey around hairline and part as well as I thought it should. Maybe I removed it to soon? Followed directions but my grey is stubborn. How often can I color again?
As a redhead, nothing and nobody has ever matched my natural hair colour, until I found this product. It is exactly right and I don't know how it could be better.
I have had my hair dyed to its natural color in salons since I was 28 years old due to early greying. Until I found eSalon I would never have dreamed of doing it myself, because that is not the type of woman I am. I always go to the highest rated, and therefore often the most expensive salon, I can get an appointment at where ever I live. However, twenty years after I started coloring my hair two events coincided: I learned about eSalon and I finally had enough of paying $200 every 4-5 weeks to have my hair colored. So I tried eSalon and I love the result! I can do it at my convenience, it is quick (and my hair appointments are significantly shorter) and I pay a tenth for it. If I can figure out how to do it without partially dying my bathroom walls as well, I will never go back.
Matching colors with the many on the shelves is really difficult and I was pleasantly surprised how the colour matched my hair, having some old hilights has enhanced the effect of the colour, it is natural, hair feels smooth and best of all is easy to use, everything you need is supplied. I shall be using in future and it's a lot cheaper than my hairdresser but just as good!
I don't have the nicest hair - fine, frizzy and so curly it makes Orphan Annie's hair look straight. It snaps off as it grows and I have spent my life dictated by the weather.
Having found a form of a Brazilian relaxer to give me the hair I always wanted my next mission was color.
Being frustrated by increasing prices at the salon (just for color - I always leave with wet hair) and prissy hairdressers, I decided to color on my own. Only problem was trying to get grey roots to take color. After reading the reviews on esalon, I figured it was no different then any other over the counter product and I had nothing lose.
I am extremely surprised at the results. No dripping, very very little odor and grey coverage was magical. The color is spot on (and I was playing chemist and blending colors to achiever a certain red).
Try it - it is worth the time
So right from the start of creating my colour profile was a great experience, after placing my order a colourist called me to discuss my colour and as my hair is very very light, she wanted to be sure about my mix, as was worried I had used a high lift colour and anything Esalon could offer wouldn't be able to achieve the ultra light look I currently have, upon having a good long chat I explained my hair is crazy, I usually would use drugstore lightest ash blondes and that my hair I think just takes colour extremely well. I have previously bleached my hair but we are probably talking years ago, this shocked the colourist as my photo shows my hair as very light, I explained to her I feel the main issue I have is brassy orange/ginger tones that come through, they sent me an order to do my roots to try, it was a mix of the lightest blonde they do with ash and pearl tones! I was sceptical about the pearl, however, I have just done my roots and cannot express how much I love Esalon, the colour is an amazing match!(If not so much better!) The instructions and packaging is personalised and just beautiful! And the customer service is AMAZING! I am so impressed! Thanks Esalon!
Overall, great color! But my gray hair didnt hold the color but only a # of days. :-\Good thing I'm not totally gray, yet! Maybe my hair doesn't "grab color" like it used to. So, I'm going to try a darker color next time. :) I will continue my experience with eSalon.
the color covers my grey 100%, the color is beautiful, exactly what I like, the only down is I find it a little drying but nothing a good treatment can't cure... I'm not grey, I'm happy :)
I get great personal support and advice from my colorist, Joshua. I let him know for each order if I want to make a change and he formulates my eSalon color just for me.
I oedered a shade lighter and it seems a good colour.

I have just used the new colour as I wanted to time it so I could have my hair cut in a weeks time before going on holiday. It elooks very good so far so will probably want a repeat of the same colour .I will be interested to see the colour after say four weeks. Coloured hair on 29th April.
I've been using esalon haircolor for several years. If I want to adjust the color a bit, I just go online to esalon and tell them what I'm thinking. I get a response, verifying what I said and the color comes to me just like I asked. Oh, another thing is that the color doesn't have the strong smell that other color products have. It also doesn't drip. I can't say enough about how nice it is to get my perfect color sent right to me so that it's ready when I am.

I have been using eSalon hair color for well over a year now and not only is it easy to use and so affordable, when I go to my hair stylist to get my hair cut, she has complimented on how healthy my hair is. So this proves that the eSalon color isn't your ordinary, run-of-the-mill box hair color that usually dries your hair out terribly and just leaves your hair an overall mess, especially if you do it often. I have saved so much money using this color - which I mainly use to cover grays and to lighten my hair slightly, that I can afford now to go over four months or so and get a GOOD haircut and not have to go to the cheaper places that don't always do a good job. I would HIGHLY recommend trying eSalon color out - you will not be disappointed in the value and the outcome on your hair in the long run.
Great color match and grey coverage. My hair felt great after coloring, too. I do feel like the quantity was lacking. Given the info I provided on the length and thickness of my hair, more product should have been included.
this product is very easy to use and colors well I still have a little problem around my temples but other wise fabulous stuff . I'm grateful all the extra stuff comes with it ..gloves color, remover, ect.
I really like the packaging and the instructions were easy to follow. An added bonus are the 2 pairs of thick gloves they give you. The color overall was great. I will have them make it brighter for next time but they did a good job of listening to my needs. The only downside is the length of time it takes to color it!
I have been an eSalon customer for over 2 years. I love it so much that I have introduced many friends to eSalon. As I approached my late 30s the gray hairs started to come in faster. I didn't want a head full of gray hair (there is nothing wrong with gray hair) and I didn't have the time to spend going to the hair salon every 6 weeks. I will admit I was scared to color my own hair. What if I messed up? What if my hair turned a weird color or worse what if it fell out. (Crazy thoughts, I know) eSalon could not make the process any easier. From the packaging to the custom instructions the process was easy and the results fantastic. eSalon not only saves me time but also a lot of money.
So far color may work for me, give me time to adjust and I do have a supply of what I was using and must use up, unable to return, do send me the color in June and I will let you know when I will get it on a regular basis. Thank you
I used to hate going to the store to buy my hair coloring product. I couldn't find the right color and had a hard time choosing the best color for me. Esalon is the next best thing to getting it professionally done.
I have been using the custom colour for some time now and since leaving the hairdressers and using this I have not looked back. I did have a problem with my bank card going out of date and as I forgot to update the details my colour did not get sent out. I made a huge mistake by buying a box colour from the local supermarket (as I felt I couldn't wait) omg its only when I used it I realised the difference in the quality, shine, how well my grey is covered and how long esalon custom hair colour lasts before I have to do my roots. I am truly hooked on this product and cannot recommend it enough. x

I've tried this haircolor twice now. The first time I was sent medium brown. The process was easy and stress-free. The color was beautiful but much, much too light. My medium brown was more like dark blonde. So I requested a darker color the second time. Received it. Same easy process. The color turned out exactly as I'd hoped. It is really amazing how natural it looks. My hopes were high until after about the third shampoo when I realized that just like all the other hair colors I've tried, the color was washing out. Everytime I cleanse my hair I step out of the shower looking just a wee bit blonder. So disappointing. I was hoping this haircolor would last a little longer. So I contacted eSalon and asked them if there's any way they could make the color last longer without making my hair darker or without using more chemicals. They responded positively, and my third application will be sent to me shortly. I will let you all know how it works. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I was actually sitting in the stylist's chair getting a cut when another women said my hair color was "perfect" for my coloring, clothes and time of year. Does it get better than that? P.S. I'm not sure my stylist was as pleased as I. Thank you, eSalon
This was easier than I expected and I was pleased with the very detailed instructions. They helped me do a decent job. Now that I am a little more comfortable, I may try a lighter colour. The $24 per treatment price seems a little high considering the cost of dye at Sally Beauty
This product is excellent if you are wanting to cover gray hair! It's a bit more expensive than the drug store brands but it does a superior job and lasts a lot longer!
My hair looks natural after coloring, and it is so soft. Usually when I use a boxed color, my hair will feel a little bit like straw. Not so with this hair color!! It covered all of my gray, and the color really lasts!
I, at first was truly sceptical. I ordered, deleted, reorderd...finally i commited. Wow, i am So impressed! Not only did they produce a hard color to mix, im naturally strawberry-blonde, my hair is soft and shiny! Im NEVER buying off the shelf again!

Coloring for red hair can be scary, believe me, I know. The Team has matched my original red hair to what it used to be when I was younger, so much so that people are surprised when they find out I color my hair, even my neighbor who sees me all the time!
I won't buy Haircolor any other way it was awesome!! I love the hair colour I love the kit they gave me full of everything I needed it was perfect only thing that I could say wasn't that great was the amount of time it took for delivery but other than than that I was 100% happy
I really like my very custom color. I would like it just a bit more custom however. Just a bit more plum would be great. Having said that I have never found an option that does a better job than esalon at getting this close to the color I want. Unless I go to a salon and that is too expensive and inconvenient. I recommend esalon to everyone
love the hair color from ESalon. The color seems so natural. I've had people come up to me and say that they like the color on me. I had used other brands, some that I tried and my hair dried out, it felt like straw, and it just didn't feel right. Some that I had used, the coverage didn't cover all of the grays, some of the colors didn't seem to appear as natural-looking as I wanted and some of the colors have faded and changed quickly. With the color from ESalon, I haven't had these issues. Yes, everyone's hair and self is different and people may get different outcomes. My results, I have been happy with, ecstatic that I don't dye my hair every month and yet it still looks terrific. I could go longer between dying with their hair color than other brands that I had tried. The coloring in the stores are less money than going to a professional, that's often the biggest reason as to why people color at home, because of the cost. This hair dye from Esalon is not going to cost you only $2 or $3.00 or $5.00 like some of those that you could get in the store, it will cost you more, not a lot more, and it is still going to be less than a hair stylist at a salon.
What you do get from Esalon is not only excellent coverage and a beautiful lasting color, but you get real people who talk to you. People that explain things to you, not only through emails, but also through phone calls. You get personalized service and your questions answered and they ask you questions if needed to find out the information to help you get your best product. I am happy with my hair color and service at Esalon. I also look forward to receiving them when they come, and I could change them up a bit, say if I want to go a little lighter, just drop them a note in the order.
Perhaps, one day, they'll be options for other dye items such as a smaller amount or bottle with a comb on it designed for root touch ups or a spray bottle that you could squirt for highlighting, especially during the summer.
I really like the color n the coverage. I was just wondering if some highlites can be added to my color. Love your site!!! Wish I had gotten on ESalon along time ago!!,instead of wasting my money on store bought color that only lasts a month.
I have used lots of different hair colouring ( I am English so please do not correct my spellings!) products over the years but have never had one that settles so quickly, looks so natural and lasts up until my next cut so well.
I like how it is simple to use and does what it says it will as far as coverage and conditioning. If you rub those areas you have grey I find it lightens or comes right off. I have very few grays and the ones I do have are almost white and hair color doesn't seem to cover them well or for long. I find this with other products I have tried as well.
This is the best color I have ever purchased. I have colored my hair by purchasing products from Beauty Supply stores and the color never matched. I was never able to duplicate the same color twice. Each time the color was different. I also had my hairdresser color my hair. It never came out the same twice. I would have 4-5 different colors at a time. It was horrible. This matched the color I already had and looked wonderful. I have recommended the product to several of my friends.
I decided after months of thinking about it, to finally try this. I put in all of my info and what I was looking for and waited to see. I always have to dye my hair a darker color because color seems to wash out of my hair within 2-3 weeks, so I was skeptical. I received my box and dived right in. The color came out a little brighter than I wanted, but I expected that because like I said color washes out of my hair. Two to three weeks later, it dimmed just enough. It's been 7 weeks and my color is still bright and beautiful.
This is the first time I had a great experience with coloring my hair myself. I have brassy tones which makes it difficult to find a color that won't give me orange highlights. My beautician recommended safe colors that turn out dull and boring. My experience with kits at the drug store were disastrous and looked nothing like the color on the box. Finally, I got up the courage to try eSalon. I explained my situation, included a photo of my current color, described what I wanted - and I got it! Never have I received compliments on my hair color, until now. I'm gradually working toward my natural, darker hair color. The colorist has done a wonderful job adjusting my color each time and instructing me how to apply it for best results. I couldn't be happier with my hair color since I tried eSalon. I tell a colorist what I want, it's delivered to my home, and I can do it at my convenience. And, it turns out better each time. Now I get affordable, professional results at home thanks to eSalon!

I just got done with my 5th order and 3rd color change, tweaking it here and there and then going lighter and roots only for the last one. I was always terrified I would turn my hair green, orange, or some other color I did not want or fry my hair. Each time when I have dried it after coloring it, none of those things have happened and have been happy with the color and the ease of the process. For the summer I am doing roots only so my highlights still show. I let ESalon know and they mixed up the perfect color to cover my roots and gray. I can stay on top of that and then occassionally get highlights which is much more affordable than going and having my hairdresser do both. I am not scared anymore and appreciate ESalon's patience and desire to help me find the right color through the fall and winter and what I needed to do now that I have highlights. It is comforting to know a professional is assisting in the hair color picking process and not jjust left to what looks good on a box at the store and what that box does may not be what I need to get the results I want. Would never have had the nerve to color my own hair without ESalon! :)
I have had my hair colored for decades. Never did it myself since it is quite long and grew up with a mother who did her own hair and had black fingerprints on everything in her bathroom. My greatest fear was becoming my mother ;-). Big bold step, decided to try since am at the point where the grey hairs are coming in more frequently and having moved out of state no longer able to dash in and get my roots done inexpensively (long hair costs so much more even though the roots are at the hairline) at my favorite salon. Spoke with so many people regarding dyeing my hair, heard all the horror stories but decided to try at least once. eSalon guided my step by step and really worked with me getting a good color. Great part is with each order they provide you with a "kit" containing gloves, shampoo and cleaners so you just need to supply a couple of items. I did have my color adjusted recently and am still extremely happy. No longer timid, I can fly thru my roots and only need to go to the salon twice a year for highlights.
Always be skeptical of hair color when ordering online...except from eSalon!
I asked for a specific red color...I know, I know...red doesn't stay in very long, red can look 'magenta-ish', red can wash you out...blah, blah, blah....but what I asked for and what I got....WOW! my color looked as good as when I go to a professional salon...better yet, it wasn't near as $$.
eSalon gives you the option of changing anything about your hair color that you didn't like from last time. Not a problem for me....I asked for a color that a certain celebrity sported and I got exactly that glorious, red color I have so wanted!

I think I will continue with esalon because of the results I get and how it conditions my hair. I have very slow-growing hair, so I only need to redo every 3+ months or so.. till then the color does not seem to fade and actually I like it more after a few washings. I recommend you give it a try!
