Hair color is very natural looking. It does not fade like those for sale in pharmacy. With the directions given I found it quite easy to do myself. Ordered it delivered every five weeks but I have decided I would like to keep a backup box in case I would like to do it a week or so earlier because of a special occasion or if I need to go away before my delivery date. Otherwise, 5 weeks seems to work out very well.
First time for me and was worried as I've always been the salon for my colour. I am so pleased with the result. The colour is perfect and lasts very well. In fact I'd say the result is better than the salons. The only thing I would do next time is comb it through to the ends for the last 5 minutes instead of massaging it in whilst in the shower. This is because the fumes are overpowering and I had to open the shower door. I think I'd also wash it off in the sink.
I've read reviews that people keep receiving the product and have difficulty cancelling orders. This is not difficult to do if you open an account. You can change or cancel any order any time ( unless it's currently on its way to you)
I received an e mail after my first order to invite me to give feedback. They also replied to my feedback so I'm happy with the service too !
I love the color and the durability of course my hair grows very quickly so the whites are coming through but the color did not fade. I am ready to get my new one by the Week of thanksgiving.
I love your product. I found that after 4 washes, with a color treated shampoo, the greys started to show again. Other than that, I will still continue to buy your product. I might change the color too.
I wasn't sure about this website/vendor, as I am very particular about my hair color. However, the formula arrived and I really found the product to be great. I just need to tweak the color a bit to give this a five star!
My goal is to cover grays and match my natural color. The color is perfect. No one knows that I dye my hair and as a result, there are no roots showing when it starts to grow out. Great shine too. The only thing I find is that the gray shows through pretty quickly afterwards. Like in a week or two.
I've only just moved from semi permanent to permanent. I was a little nervous as if it went wrong what would I do? However I didn't need to worry. The instructions were clear and the results are gorgeous.
My color came out exactly as I wanted it and the gray coverage was perfect. I do not have money for salons and was using OTC hair color which was fine until the grays became too difficult to color.
Awesome color for aging and damaged hair. I usually lose a handful of hair every time I shampoo, but after using this color, it changed to about a quarter of that (or less). In case you thought it was a fluke, as my hair, and color, grew out, I started losing more hair. Colored again, much less hair loss!! GAve 4 instead of 5 stars because they wait too long to send me my next order of color.
I really liked the way it covered and how soft and shiny my hair was. the color was just too dark or I would have given 5 stars. We adjusted and ill see how the next one comes out.
This hair color had better gray coverage than my first order. I especially like the color starting about a week after application because some of the variation in my hair color starts to come out so it doesn't look so obvious that it is dyed.
Love the product and how I am becoming a pro at coloring my own hair! Great product! However, I am not liking the copper, reddish i am left with. I just want a medium brown with great gray covering . Is that possible? I know I have some stuborn gray and will have some reddish left. I do like it just see if those issues can be worked on! Thank you so much

I just tired my first shipment and had some feedback to share with the stylist. I was hoping to provide feedback THEN place my next order. I didn't realize I was signing up for an auto shipment option- little disappointed that money was drafted when I wasn't ready for it.
Regardless of the misunderstand on my part, thank you for a wonderful product. The directions were really easy to follow!

I'm a redhead naturally, but with all the gray coming in I needed something better than what I can get at the drug store. The initial color I was getting was auburn, but I wanted it slightly redder and less brown. The new formula is very good. It's a subtle shift, but more natural.
Just added a bit of copper to my colour and it is fantastic. Really looks good against my skin.
Only reservation: my hairdresser observed the mixture was just enough to cover my hair. A little bit small sized.
I was so nervous in doing this. I have had my hair colored by a salon and it was just getting too expensive. The color was almost perfect (but then this is my first), and easy to apply. It has held up great after three weeks. I think my next batch will be even better. The only thing my hairdresser said was, "you missed a little spot in the back." And that was my fault.
colour is brilliant but would like a little bit lighter. I did the roots and brushed it through the remainder of my hair to get an even colour which worked perfectly.
Pleased that there is no residue smell in my hair. Very Happy.
I love getting my color every 5 weeks and generally speaking I like the color. I am an autumn colored red head and its been a little difficult to get the red right but certainly not embarrassed with the color I have.
Easy to apply. The cream worked to prevent stains on skin. Easy to wash out. Haven't used the enhancer to perk up the color. I did find that the color (red) faded too quickly.
I was not sure about doing this at home. After first color, I liked the results. Then as I have identified some challenges, they have 'tweaked' the process in the same way my salon did. Add a minute here, etc. The cost savings are great and I am getting more proficient and my color is what I want it to be.

My hair is slowing becoming the color I want it to be. The eSalon color on my white-gray hair looks like a highlight but it looks like I have to grow out my old flat color so my hair is half and half now! I'll keep using this color until my whole head looks like this!

The color is a perfect match, golden highlights and all. Completely covered my grey.
I needed some help from my husband when doing the back of my head, and the fumes got pretty intense, but not enough to keep me from doing this again. What a savings, I'd normally pay about $80 just for color.
I've tried many products, even professional treatments, but this is much better

This is now my 4th purchase with e-salon. I've been frustrated with store-bought, "professional" boxed and finally professionally salon treatments but none have held color. In fact, with the other products, I would see grey sprouting again in about 2 weeks. I decided to try this. I loved the way they customized my color with all kinds of questions, surveys, even having me download a picture for them. It's been 2 months now and I see only 2 grey strands! Amazing. I'm supposed to get my next color delivery in another month, but not sure if I'll need it since this treatment has held so well! It's an extra added bonus for me was having my best friend help with the applications. I wanted to make sure I was doing it right for the first time. I was able to do it by myself from then on. By the way, my friend was very impressed with the color, too! The only critique I would give about the product is that I'd like to see them put in more stain guard (1 more?) and stain remover packets (4-6) as part of the kit, rather than having to purchase extra packets. This way you can deal with all quadrants of the face and neck without worrying if you got it right. This suggestion does not take away from the 5 stars. It's just a suggestion.Finally, the customer service is excellent and immediate.
I have complicated hair! Mostly grey, and I color it Red. They sent me a darker color for my roots; another color for the ends. It worked Perfectly!!! My hair grows fast, so I do often use a 'roots touch-up' in between colors (about every 6-8 weeks)
When I decided to go more natural red, the first color they sent was ok - Together we tweaked it and NOW - Perfect!!!!
The only thing was when I first tried the color, it dried out my hair. BUT, I used their leave-in conditioner; Worked REALLY well and Smells good!!
I've been using eSalon for over a year now and I LOVE Them!!! Their support team is Great and while we were working out my NEW hair color, they had me send pics, and asked me questions to get it Right!!!
PS. Get their 'Tinted Love' Color Enhancing treatment-LOVE!! And 'On the Bright Side'. Helps the color stay vibrant. If I had makeup on, I'd take a pic and show you! ;-)
I always had a problem with using blond color over my now gray/white hair. My original color is blond. Anyway, over-the-counter products were too dark for the first week, nice during second week and then got too light in the third and fourth weeks. E-Salon is the perfect color from start to finish. I am sooo satisfied.
I usually pay a small fortune to have my hair coloured once a month at the hairdressers, so thought I would give this ago, and I am amazed by how easy it was to do, and how fab my hair looks. I won't be going to the salon for a colour ever again!
I have been coloring my hair for 30 years and have tried every at home color out there. I was never happy. I gave this a try because I dread wasting time and money at the salon.
The products are high quality and the packaging and instructions are great. The first thing I noticed was that the color did not burn my scalp which usually happens even at salon. I was nervous as the color ripened on my hair because it looked dark. I hung in there waiting the correct amount of time made easier by purchaded timer. After I washed it and started to dry my hair the color came alive and I saw the shine and multidimensional color. I could not be happier. Now I just need to buy bottles of shampoo and conditioner that are amazing!
Color was what I had expected and the directions were easy to follow. My consultant gave me great advice. Next time I will leave color on the grays a little longer before applying color to rest of hair for better "take". Grays reappeared after 3 weeks. Only wish I could get more highlights for a brighter look.
My color was perfect! I did notice it did not seem to completely cover my grays, but that could have been my fault. I think I washed the color out a couple of minutes too early; next time I will be sure to leave it on the full time.
I was leery that the color would be brassy or not match at all since I ordered it on line, but recently lost my regular hairdresser to a move, so I gave it a try. I was very impressed. The only complaint at all, is that I get too much of it. I can't figure out how to change the delvery times. Beyond that- excellent product!
My previous colour had become very unnatural, giving my hair a purple tint. The Esalon colour looks really natural ... A lady in a shop approached me recently to say how nice t looked!
From time to time I would try to save money by coloring my own hair but was never happy with the results. The color always came out so harsh. That is until I tried esalon color. It is lustrous and every bit as good as salan color. Love it!
I went for a haircut 2 days after coloring and the stylist complimented the color. When I told her I'd done it myself with eSalon custom color, she said, "I'm not supposed to like it, but I do!" Again, I may never go somewhere else to do my color again. I didn't feel like I had to arrange my whole life around a trip to the salon because it only took about 45 minutes at home all in.
Love the color-it was a bit darker than I thought it would be but I love it. The smell, while processing, was strong, but the color is natural looking and my hair feels great.
I had plenty of hair color to use. I've always worried I wouldn't have enough to finish the job and it covered my stubborn gray hair without being a lighter color than the rest!
Love my latest color! Covered all my gray and blended great with my current hair color. Wish the product was just a little less expensive. Otherwise, very happy.
Was very unsure at first as have loads of white hair to cover but after reading all the reviews thought I'd give it a try, glad I did just saved myself £15!
Most box colors darken my hair for a few days and then it lightens up and fades to gray in just a couple of weeks. My hair is usually dry and hard to comb through for a few days after, also. With eSalon custom color, my hair was and is soft all the way through the process. I admit that this is my first time, so I'm waiting to see how long the gray coverage lasts, but I think I've found a new color company!!
The directions were easy to follow and the color turned out great. A few weeks in and my grey is still covered. Just a very small amount is starting to show versus huge sections after a week.
The coverage is excellent for me, even my stubborn greys. At the salon the coverage sometimes isn't even as good as this is. It's a little drying for my fine hair and I need to use extra conditioner than normal.
For my first order, I did roots only to be sure I would like the color. I just did my entire head with my second order and I've had 3 people tell me they can't tell I colored my hair because it looks like the same color I've always had. Thanks eSalon!
Loved the color, fading with nice coppery tones, gray creeping in by 2nd week on longer side around front of ears, gray creeping in around hairline but not as fast as other brand so I am happier,. Was hoping gray stayed away a little longer but some of it is new hair or regrowth I am sure
The color looks very natural, doesn't dry my hair out, and lasts a long time! My only complaint is that the application process is messier than other hair color products that I have used.
I like this product, it does a great job of covering my grey and the color is beautiful! It's easy to use, also. The only downfall is the very strong odor, which I wasn't expecting from a custom color.
I originally choose a darker color but after looking at my photo the colorists were able to mix a lighter color that matched my current salon color perfectly.
I was very impressed with eSalon and the colour was exactly what I asked for. I decided afterwards I wanted a slight change and it was easy to amend it online. I am confident that the colour I want will be achieved. My hair feels great and looks in fantastic condition. The only slight downside is that I thought the mixture really did smell very strong. But apart from that I am really really pleased with everything. It's just so nice to be able to custom the colour to exactly how I want it!
I wasn't sure what I really wanted to do with my color besides not pay a fortune to have it colored at a salon. Had been wanting to try e-salon so I decided it was time Iinstead of getting talked into something I would end up not liking by my stylist. LOVE the color chosen for me based on the answers to the questions on the website. You will be doing yourself an injustice if you don't give e-salon a try!
I didn't like this color at first because it had more red in it than I was prepared for (I have some natural red) but, after wearing it for a week, I really like it. I've liked how vibrant and natural the color looks from the start. I've also caught other women giving me dirty looks because of how nice I look in this color. The customer service is good as well. I've had quick responses every time I've sent an email.
Was recommended to use this website by my hair stylist because she was relocating and I just did not want to have anyone else to put color in my hair. Best option I cold have taken!
Hello! Your product is something I will recommend to others. I have decided to stop coloring my hair altogether. My hair color has turned white and I am loosing hair due to the type of medications that I need to take
I've used this hair product three times. My review: ease of ordering = 10, colorists professionals = 10, packaging & delivery = 10, ease of use for product = 10, product effects (color retention) = 8 (add the tinted love & it's a 10)
I have a lot of hair but each strand is very thin. It's naturally light blonde & spaghetti straight.
I always got my hair colored by a professional but I injured my neck and I have been out of work. I decided to try eSalon because of the cost difference and, even more importantly, the salon's scoop sinks caused pain when I had to tilt my head back.
When looking at the shelves in a store, I can never decide on a product or a color. If I actually buy a box of hair color I chicken out when I get it home. I have at least 6 boxes of hair color in my closet that I've never been brave enough to use! Waste of time and money!
My first set came in a sturdy box with all the products securely housed in a convenient way. Even though the customized directions were easy to read and to follow, I still had questions.
I contacted customer service and spoke to a colorist. I know that they all probably answer the same questions all day, every day but I was treated kindly. In today's world of automated Q&A machines and disinterested CS reps, eSalon's professionals are a rare experience! I have been impressed and overjoyed by every one I've talked to in their colorist department.
My first hair color packs were blended as a 'strawberry blond' and it wasn't quite as red as I wanted. I spoke to another eSalon professional and we switched the color slightly to a 'copper' red. It punched up the color just enough and did not cause my hair to look brassy. Highly recommend!
I have been so happy with the hair color! I color my roots, and it all blends in. The color is so rich, and I always get great compliments. Easy to do at home. My only complaint is that it can be hard to rinse out. If you do not do a rinse in the shower with the extra color watered down, then it clumps and takes a long time to get out.
... Even my hair stylist says I do a great job with Esalon color!
