After following all directions and coloring my hair I had the blahest finish, I had dk blonde copper and a little gold, making it dk.strawberry blonde, was not happy with finish at all! Next day added the toner refresh and next day again after that and had some life to color otherwise ill be discontinueing this color for sure .
Colour matched my current colour. I did find i probably could’ve been done with more product luckily I still had a Previous order so had 2 boxes. Missed the fact you don’t get a brush with it now as I couldn’t find mine.
A little redness on roots but not bad. Maybe a tad bit more brown. Love this though. Thank you. Some little hairs around hair line didn’t cover (white vs grey) but I am sure it is user error!
I like it better than the last one I know I didn't explain what I want the right way I should've said copper. I don't think it's possible to get copper now since I've coloured my natural hair but I'd at least like less brown if I can't get copper. I'm sorry for being such a problem

This is my third set since I started using eSalon and I am finally ready to say I am thrilled with the overall experience. I initially started doing this because my colorist was raising their rates again (again!) and I was just about over it. Add to that parking downtown and the time it took and having to deal with people and traffic and… you understand. Right? Then there is the color. My colorist is great but I was having to go in every eight weeks and even then there was a huge amount of grow out - and my grey grow out is not subtle. I usually spent two weeks wearing scarves and hair bands. Don’t misunderstand, I love my scarves but I t was not a fashion choice. eSalon was going to be too good to be true or it was going to be the savior of my bank account, sanity, and, of course, hair color. Turns out it is all of the above. The color is spot on. I mean PUHR-FEK-SHUN. They even suggested I start with a slightly lighter color because the color I was going for was so much darker than the color I was now. Okay. Sound reasoning. They were correct! I went with the lighter color for a couple of applications then, with the color this week, I went just a bit darker and I adore it. My color is rich and my hair shines with the mahogany reds and browns of my youth (even better actually). And the grey? Covered. I mean covered! I am 56 and I have intense, stubborn grey that is difficult to cover and grows out and seems to throw off color quickly. My color is delivered every six weeks and I only just start looking “dusty” at the roots and around the edges by then. What’s not to love? With each application, my color is refreshed, I don’t have to find parking downtown, there are no people to deal with, and I am spending less than my colorists tip! In my experience, eSalon really is as good as the hype.

Super easy to do, and covers all my grey. its a great colour with excellent shine. I find in my case the colour fades after 3 weeks. I also on my last order it arrived 10 days late because of a courier issue, only after enquiring did I get good service on the status of my colour. I unfortunately had to live with the grey longer than I wanted and would of appreciated a heads up from ESalon on the late shipment.
I just wrote a detailed note and was almost done. All of a sudden, it deleted it. It is too long to write again.

This color is much better than the 1 st color. I am disappointed that the color washes off around my face with 1 st wash. I don’t think it covers the gray as well .
The shampoo that came with the most recent esalon order was different…a clear rather than creamy shampoo. I did not like it. I never use clarifying shampoos. They are drying to my hair.
It’s just a little more orange now that I wanted. I think instead of a blonde base, I need a light brown base. I want to it to be more copper than orange
There’s several things I love about this product. First the color looks natural.
Second, how it leaves my hair shiny, soft, and manageable.
Thirdly, my hair stays healthy and never damaged from over the counter hair dyes. But, what doesn’t work for me is coloring grey hair. About 30% of my hair is grey. The next day the grey hair is visible and having to use an eye pencil to color the grey on the front sides. Next a week after, color fades and more grey uncovered. Would like a longer lasting grey coverage. Furthermore, its too pricey for every 6 months.
I received your product 4/14. And I must say that I was very impressed with the outcome of my chosen color. The only problem is my gray is too aggressive for this product. This is the only color I've tried in the last year. After using the first application, it lasted one week before the gray reappeared. I would like to cancel the subscription at this point and let my hair grow out fully gray. That's first the opportunity to try for myself. I've shared your site with some friends. While I really like having a custom color developed for me, I like the results better! The color is a rich brown that covers my gray completely. I won’t go back to to the same old bottled products.
i am a man with short hair - have you ever thought of making this into 4 or 5 separate applications - i use approximately 1/5th. everything is else is great and i like the product and service but since i need to color every week and a half it feels like there should be an option for smaller applications...
It surprised me how nice by how well it turned out.

I have not done my own hair in years. I did miss an entire spot on my part so, I just changed my part for the time being and give it a little tease to cover it up when needed. I would like to try and smell the different shampoos to see which one I would like to buy, but I can not get it ordered that way. I am struggling with the website, it must be these grey hairs. I was born before the gene that makes this easy.
I was so disappointed in a hair coloring I had done in a hair salon. It was much darker then I had asked for.
I decided to try eSalon. I took the quiz a few times and I got the color I was hoping would lighten my hair a bit. They ordered me the medium brown (cool beige). Let me start with the process.
It’s fancy. The box is big and it has a lot of moving parts to it. I read the directions 4 times before I started. I choose the brush method. I mixed the color which is extremely viscous and applied it as instructed to my roots. Waited 15 minutes and then applied the rest to the ends. There is plenty of color was short medium hair. Anything longer than shoulder blades will need 2 bottles to apply properly.
When my ends processed the 10 minutes I then took the bottle and included shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Fill the bottle up with water and shake it. Then pour it over your head and massage for 2-3 mins. This part is tricky. It stinks and my nose burned a little at the chemical smell. Then the water ran clear. Applied the shampoo and conditioner and was done.
The result: my dark brown is now a lovely shade of medium brown. It is not completely ashen. It has some gold tones to it but it’s exactly what I pictures. I’m glad I did this and will continue to purchase.
This is the first time I have used Esalon. I ordered my. Color. When I applied the color and was blow drying my hair I noticed that all the Grays were. Gold bronze not dark brown. Easton and my color specialist sent me a new combo for free. Unfortunately, I got the same results. Esalon and my specialist sent me another color FOR FREE ! They were more concerned that I received the correct color, rather than making money. I was blown away by the way they handled it and helped me. I’m still trying to find the right color; however. I think I’m making the error somewhere, not them. Just because of their costumer service I will stay with them !
The product at times does not consistently cover my roots. I have learned that others I recommended to use the color are saying the same. But I think what is the worst is that I have been a very long time customers and spent a lot of money and have remained loyal. In doing so I order every 4 weeks for years now and they should reward their loyal customers with some kind of benefit in free shipping or at least reduced shipping. That is a very nice incentive that they should have been implementing!
I’ve been using kits from the High Street but have struggled to match my shade of red. For the first couple of weeks the colour was really harsh and dark with an artificial pink hue I didn’t suit. Thibault at E-Salon got it right first time, I love my customised shade Jo
I found a good color combo for me and with red hair that’s hard to do. I do notice that I get too much product and end up throwing a lot of it away from the first color container
I want less brown and more purple. I can barely see the purple. Product is good for the first order but the second I'm.paying 2x more and get 1/2 of what I got in order 1. $34.00 for root touch up. Last time I order
Color was perfect, I didn't get hot roots, and it was easy to use. The only thing I might take one sparkle off one star for is my second pair of gloves ripped apart when I put them on. I think they were smaller than the first pair.
Love the color finally!! My color stylist suggested ash and it worked perfectly to get rid of the unwanted red/black/orange tones. It took several times but I'm happy with the color. Only thing is after a couple of weeks my roots at my part line start to fade and turn gray. That's only reason for the 4 stars instead if 5.

In all my years of going to a hairdresser, I never had to color my own hair. Since the economy changed and I needed to learn how to conserve, I started using a do-it-yourself hair color that I liked, Clairol Foam, #9, however, it was discontinued. My hair is 80% grey now, which means I have to color approximately every 6-8 weeks. It was getting very expensive. When I was online reading the Allure Magazine and saw a section called E-Salon, I stopped in my tracks. The article was very informative. So, I informed the colorist assigned to me that I wanted to replicate the color that Clairol Foam #9 product was giving me (blonde with variable color highlighting). Oh my gosh, the color turned out perfect. Exactly what I wanted, even better. So natural!! The packaging of the products sent with your first order, and thereafter, is first class. And, they personalize each order! I started on the auto-delivery program right away. I have purchased your leave in conditioner as well...great! I have been with the program for about a year now, very happy! Thank You E-Salon for your high standards and professionalism.
I was not quite sure I would get the color correct because, color on a swatch on a phone could l ook completely different than what shows up. I didn't realize that there were 2 different colors in my kit, but they both look great. I do like color for the ends better, bottle 2. I thought this was ammonia free, but its not. I made the mistake of taking a big whiff an of course gaged. Love the color.
The only thing I wasn't too excited about was the fact that it faded/washed out REALLY fast. Not sure if it's because my hair was bleached before or if it's just the hair dye itself. Also wish I could pick out my new hair color myself and not have to message my stylist with how much or less of certain colors I want....
Had to leave 5stars so people can see.
I ordered last year once, cancelled and they still sending even after canceling my plan. I just received one more email from them saying that was shipped.
I have photos showing the ugly color almost red, not black at all!!!
The color looks nice, but it fades fast and it goes down into a weird yellow color. I’m not fond of and the grays are not staying covered very long. There’s not enough shine.
I have used Esalon for some time now. I am happy with how it leaves my hair and how well it covers greys. But on my hair at least some washes out (the water is definitely 'coloured' the first few times I wash my hair after colouring). I don't go back to my natural colour but instead of the dark blonde warm beige shade I started with it ends up more light/mid blonde. So I tried light brown warm beige with my last order. Obviously it came out a darker shade than before, but after a week's washing my hair lightened and has stayed at a lovely colour of dark blonde with a hint of gold that shines in the sun. I am very happy with it now.
I have always done my own dye I bought it at Walmart or CVS L’Oréal blonde lightest blonde but never did it turn out like E salon has my hair looking seriously everyone thinks I went to a salon ty e salon!!
OK here it goes- My hair is naturally jet black, and recently I dyed it a copper color. My hair grows pretty fast and I have so many greys so I have to keep going back to my stylist every 6 weeks or so because it’s so noticeable. I have tried box dye from the drug store but it never works the same as salon quality hair dye and that’s mainly because it’s more expensive, and consumers aren’t able to purchase professional color, you need a cosmetologist license to do that (unfortunately). Cheap hair dye will only color my greys, but won’t color my natural black hair. SO, I decided to give this a try and I’m SO HAPPY I DID! this worked JUST AS GOOD as when I go to my stylist and it was 10000000% cheaper. It actually dyed my black hair!!! I’m so happy! I already recommended it to my friends and family. At this rate, I think I’ll only be seeing my stylist maybe 2 to 3 times a year.
I love e-salon but this last time it lightened my roots and I always do those first. Don’t know what happened this time? I did everything as directed. It usually does an awesome job!
I have used eSalon in the past, although it had been a while, so I was excited to use it again. Unfortunately, although the bonus roots and ends bottles supplied more than enough dye for medium/long hair, it came out a bit uneven in tone. My roots came out a bit more auburn and my ends a bit more chocolate/espresso colored. I was hoping for the opposite effect. Perhaps, the roots and ends bottles were mislabeled? I did use it exactly as directed, took the time to part my hair, brushing out each section, applying to each section and setting a timer for each part. Of note, the hair was clean and free of product (I rarely use any product or styling tools). It isn't 'bad,' it is just that I was expecting the opposite effect - darker roots and lighter ends. Although it is probably only noticeable to me, it is not bothersome enough to need to correct through a salon/stylist. I will be optimistic that the next set I receive will turn out more even.
Color box has everything needed to prep and color hair. I like the customized color. The only issue I'm having is with it covering all my greys by my ear area. Even leaving it on longer than suggested.
I have been ordering your product for a long time this last order I received was a quarter of the liquid in the bottle not enough to do my head I am very dissatisfied with the service
I needed to saturate my mids and ends more but if I had, I would only have been able to do half of my head; I have very thick hair. I like the color, it did well on my roots with how much I was able to apply there and with letting it sit longer. However, the rest of my hair, not so much. The highlights sucked the color up well, but for the most part, I needed more color and to let it sit longer. If I didn’t have to put another application on right away, I would have given it 5 stars.
This was my first time using esalon, I love the color, I love the way my hair looks and feels after I used the color but unfortunately it didn’t cover my grey and since the only reason I wanted to color my hair was to cover the grey, I don’t see a reason to buy it again.
The color is spot on and I'm thrilled with that (per the 4 stars) but it does not cover the gray for longer than 2 washings max. That's really disappointing to me.
I was looking for a natural deep red, the instructions said to leave in hair for a certain amount of time but I don't think I left it in long enough to get the results that I had hoped for. You could still see the lines from my roots and the color just wasn't as vibrant as I had hoped. I am hoping next color I receive will go better!
So delighted with the ecolour. I unfortunately am unable to use it as I am now on steroids and have Polymyalgia rheumatica. I have had to have my hair cropped and it is now more grey than before. I have passed the product to my daughter and recommended both my daughter's to esalon.
The colour looks amazing on me. However, my stubborn grey coverage was average and I felt it could have been better. Apart from that this is a wonderful product.
I just wanted to thank you for always addressing my concerns and my many changes in color! I get bored with my natural color and like to change it up sometimes, but I’m in LOVE with my current color and hope I can maintain it. You guys are truly experts and your color products are exceptional!
2nd order was a better adjustment. It's hard to find a Demi permanent color in a beauty supply store nowadays. Only cons is it is expensive for a home hair coloring system and it takes a long time to rinse out. By the way I locs past my shoulders and this works well on them.
My first color was not good, this one is not as red and has the cooler tones I was looking for. The 15 Vol did not cover the gray as well as the 20 Vol.
This kit is brilliant! They make everything so user friendly and I had such a great time using everything. I’m just really sad that my color didn’t come out how I had expected. It hardly changed at all.
I like how this color did not leave my hair as red as other colors I have tried. It was darker than anticipated, but that is probably healthier for my hair -my hair does look shinier which I appreciate. The only issue is there are still some itty bitty grays on the frontmost part of my hairline even though I soaked that hair and left 10 minutes longer than indicated!
Well, it covered my roots, but I guess I waited too long, because the rest of my hair is a completely different color. I’m hoping the root color fades a bit soon. I might want to adjust the color next time. I want it less dark.
So I just received my product from eSalon I was really excited to finally use it well I did but my hair die exploited all over my bathroom I just wanted to know how could that happen if you need pictures I can try to send them but just wanted to let you know
I love the rich, reddish brown color. Unfortunately it didn’t cover 100% of my gray. I don’t have a lot of gray hair, but I guess it’s stubborn. I’m going to do it again and I hope it fully colors the gray this time.
Wanted to go lighter with an ash tone and it worked.

Have been dying my quite grey hair medium brown for a long time (different product). I switched to e salon hoping for a better color result (less red tones). Using the light ash brown, I got the color I wanted and used light set to lighten sections of my darker hair while it grows out.
The idea of an at home salon quality color is amazing and love the option to have a custom made color. I have a few complaints that were enough for me to cancel after my trial. 1. I didn't love my color. It's fine, it looks different than when I started and it was good but not great. It wasn't super vibrant and I felt like I could have achieved the same result with the $6 box from the drugstore. 2. My hair is so dry. Sahara desert. It feels like straw. I have not colored my hair in well over 3 years so I had silky soft extremely healthy hair. I know all hair color is damaging to some degree but I wasn't expecting the life to be sucked out of my hair in 30 mins or less. I think eSalon is a great idea but I think it just needs a little more love in the system to get it perfected.
