Changed my hair colour last night was darker than expected but is nice as I've been this dark before really wanted to be lighter but you can't really tell what the colour is till you try it.
This is such a good company, the colour was to perfection, the only little quibble I would have is that I didn’t think the conditioner was very good that was in the box, that’s just my personal opinion, other people may like it. Will definitely be re-ordering next month again.
Colour was amended to not be as red but actually feels redder. Coverage wasn’t as good this time either. Placing my account on hold for the time being 😫
A good product, lovely presentation, everything that was needed and plenty of the product for my longish hair.
Unfortunately I was after a natural ginger/auburn similar to my own and the colour was deeper red.
Whilst it isn’t the colour I’d hoped for it is a nice colour, vibrant with a good shine to my hair and smells good.
I would recommend salon to friends and family, particularly if the colour they are after is more straight forward.
Very pleased with the end results however I could not apply to the roots and then the ends so I ended up putting a good amount throughout and then combed it through and leaving it for 25 minutes. I’m lucky that it worked out so well however I will definitely ask my daughter to apply the next one
I don’t know if the colour has been changed since the last order but it’s darker. However, it did cover the greys this time although that may have something to do with the method of application, length of time I kept it on which was a little longer and the fact I used it all up. However, out of all 3 shades of “black”, I preferred the shade in the first order which was a richer golden hue .
I ordered the dark brown.My hair color is so natural and you have so much color left over,I will continue to order this but change my order to 1 month instead of 3.wks
I love the color and because it light the gray does show to bad. But we will see how long the color last, as this is the second time coloring after they made adjustments. But still didn't cover all my grey..
So we shall see. Want to give it a chance cause I really like the color.
Over all the color was okay, but it was more auburn then cooper. It honestly looks more brown. It did cover my grays and the color matches through my hair, but next time I think I would like more cooper in it. I will order again from eSalon because I love the price and convenience of doing it myself! It may just take a couple times before I get the color I really want. The last time I started it took a couple colors to get it right. I'm okay with sticking with this color for my next autoship if it is too difficult to change, but I do look forward to getting to the cooper color I really love!

The color turned out beautifully but I found it couldn’t cling to the grays above my ear area. I applied it there first and followed the directions completely.
The color was perfect for what they suggest. However, I stay with 10 more minutes extra with the color and still had some gray hair :( ...Overall, the suggestion and the color they made for me it was more than perfect.
I liked the new colour, but thought it might be lighter , but just looked the same as the medium brown, I had before ,but hopefully the next one will lighting it more , just have to wait and see .
hi, i loved the colour result but was a little concerned that it was only for root application as i have never done that at home myself before, i have always done full coverage.
i found it ok, but a little difficult to apply to just the roots and was constantly worried that i would get some on the length by mistake.
there was a lot of mix left in the bottle at the end which then made me think i had done something wrong, but the colour came out ok, missed a few greys at the front but i think tht was down to me rather than the colour coverage
I recently had esalon change my current hair color with them to a slightly darker natural color and love it , I could not have gotten this color out of a box from the store
Good quality products with quality shampoo and conditioner. Unlike shop bought products you also get a barrier cream and stain remover and the gloves are quality not made if polythene with 2 pairs included the box
I have NEVER died my own hair. It was always done by a trusted hair dresser.
When opening the box I had no idea what it all was, let alone how to use it.
Thankfully the directions were detailed on paper and on video. I did select permanent which I assumed was the standard option. Apparently not. It doesn’t washout of your hair like semi permanent 😬.
The color was a little darker than I realized. Although it is pretty and my hair was so soft afterwards. Great color for the winter season instead of being washed out when I have lighter hair.
i ASKED TO GO A LITTLE LIGHTER BUT THE COLOR I USED TODAY LEFT ME WITH LIGHT RED ROOTS, DIDN'T COVER MY GRAY. I'M GOING TO HAVE TO GO TO A REAL SALON TO GET IT FIXED. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED.
I have used this product on and off for a couple years and I just love it the reason why it is only four stars is because I wanted my hair darker than it is but it pretty much looks the same
Love the color just wish it would cover my grays. For some reason it will not fully cover my grays on my sideburns. I always apply on sideburns fist leave it a bit longer but still no full coverage.
The colour is very pretty, the only thing that didn't cover very well was the gray hair on the edge near the ears, but it could have been my mistake... I'm going to place my new order!
A little time consuming doing 2 parts but it's worth it. You can see that difference of the color all in your hair, will have to leave little extra longer for the grays though.
I don't know how you did it, but you sent me the perfect color from the very first shipment! I am 70 and have Salt & Pepper hair, but it used to be medium to dark brown. I was using a mixture of neutral and warm blonde Ion brand, so that the "pepper" would look brown, and the "salt" would look golden. It wasn't working as I had hoped, but I did like the midtone auburn color I was getting. It just wasn't my first choice. So I explained what I was hoping to accomplish with my first order, and you delivered! The funny thing is that I didn't realize it at first. When I used the first shipment, I colored my hair as if it had not been colored before, leaving it on for probably 30 minutes on both the roots AND the ends. The result was my old color of medium to dark brown, which was a shock, but a welcome one. I had forgotten how dark my hair had been. I specifically didn't adjust the color, and on the next shipment I followed the directions, leaving it on 20 minutes, and only the roots, and it was not as dark. Then the next time, I decided to leave it on only 15 minutes and see what happened, and BINGO! There was my Brown with Gold highlights! I realized that basically what I needed was to not try to get 100% coverage of the gray. By cutting the processing time, it just refreshes the old color and "tints" the new growth golden, but NOT brassy! And the new perfect color combo really hides the line between it and the new growth as well. I'm anticipating that I will continue with this same color until I give up coloring it altogether. After about 20 years of trying to achieve this, I'm so happy to have found the solution!
We combed it through this time and the color seemed to blend better. Last time it faded in some places. Hoping this time it will stay darker longer instead of fading to a carmel red in areas.

I love the colour so much and it’s a fantastic kit with plenty of product for my length. My only down point is it really dried out my hair and caused a bit of damage
The hair colour was exactly the right shade! The instructions very simple to follow, and the end result was better than expected! My only complaint is that it didn’t cover the white hair completely at the sides! Maybe that was a error in my application!
This new updated color is exactly the color I wanted! Very pleased with it, however, I have a lot of thick hair, so I didn’t have enough more solution to fully coat my hair. I had to make do with what I had on my head so therefore there is some hidden spots that I missed
The new formula covered my grays very well but the overall color is darker than the last formula. I like the coverage and my hair feels very soft but I think I'd like it a little lighter. I have to wait to see if the color stays on my grays,
I’ve requested larger gloves. Last order gloves were useless. Small and too wrinkled to use. Couldn’t apply color! Couldn’t separate hair. I’ve loved this product for years. No one even called me back
Needed a 3rd bottle of dye for my whole head and length. Unfortunately I ran out of the small containers esalon sent and had to buy more dye for the last part of my hair. Looks almost black so I'm just hoping it fades a bit more to a dark brown after a couple washes. Otherwise, it's easy to use and luckily I can tailor it better the next time, still better quality and multifaceted compared to box dye.. just wish they sent more for people with longer/thick hair.

My hair is back to normal! I was able to speak with my colorist who was very informative and helpful. She also introduced another product to help (hate when your offered add’l stuff when your not happy), but I listened to her, trusted her and now I’m hooked on the wonderful smelling Weekly Retreat I believe in commending a job well done and that’s what I’m doing here. Thank you. P..S. I’ve been a constant customer since 2018, and love coloring my hair at home when I’m in the mood and in the comfort of my home.
My hair is breaking off. When I shampoo my hair it is extremely dry, and it’s near impossible to get it to lather. My hair very is listless, and full of electricity too.
My hair used to be so pretty, as a matter of fact the student body voted me as having the prettiest hair in the entire class.
There’s a ton of broken hair on my shower drain and hairbrushes too
All the above I would say, started about a year ago.
Have y’all changed the quality of your product?
There’s a great possibility that I’m going to cancel my membership. And that’s so sad.
Hope this Review gets read by upper management or someone that can do something for customer retention.

This color is just a little darker than my natural color, but better than the first color which was to red.
My natural color is a little blonde than the ash brown color sent, but it’s manageable. I have not had time to apply the highlights I ordered so I can’t rate them yet.
Very easy to use product but I don’t think the shade is what I wanted. My naturally black/brown hair has just developed a slight brown tint to it (very subtle) but I think I would’ve liked a bit more lightening,
Though I love the color, there doesn't seem to be as much of it as there was before, so I find it difficult to saturate the areas that need a little more to tackle the stubborn grays. Thus, the grays at the hairline, particularly my temples, don't get the coverage they used to in previous applications. This has been happening for the last 3-4 applications. Also, I requested large gloves and got small in this last order, which barely fit my hand and made the application more difficult. This has been great option for me over the years, but, lately, the experience needs some improvement.
The formula has good gray coverage and smells good. My skin is delicate but it didn’t irritate my skin at all. The only negative of this color is that it’s too reddish for my taste. I’ve tried other medium browns and all have red tones. It’s more auburn than a brown color. Other than that I’m very pleased.
The color specialists will work to find your perfect color. The product is good. It is not as easy to use as the videos make it look. It can be pretty messy. I have stubborn gray hair that frames my face. This product does not color those areas as well as I would like and within three weeks my gray hairs are starting to show a lot. I have extremely sensitive skin and this product does not bother my skin at all. I will continue to purchase this product because for overall hair color it is good, and I can purchase a touch up product from the drug store for less than $10 to get me through until my next coloring; though I do wish they eSalon offered a touch up instead. It certainly saves the two hours and $250 every two to three months that I would spend getting a color or touch up at my hair dressers.
I got my updated kit in Aug. 2023. This time the hair color was much better. The first kit was too much mahogany. The kit has everything you need as always, and the instructions, which you can tape to the mirror as it comes with a little sticky thing, makes it very easy to follow. I have never colored my own hair until eSalon and the first time I did it, a bit of a learning curve on the doing part. Now I feel like a professional coloring my hair. The one thing I highly recommend is to put something down on your bathroom or kitchen counters, depending on where you do the coloring, as the spatter or accidental drop of the color will stain your counter tops. Not easy to remove. When rinsing off in the shower, make sure the bathtub is already wet so the color doesn't stain the tub. And rinse the tub as you rinse out the hair. The one thing I would like them to change is the email to remind you of the shipping. The email should come a week before the shipping date, not 5 days before as not everyone checks their emails daily. At least I don't.
I had 2 orders prior to this one and felt them to be a shade too dark. Sent a request to lighten the colour and an image of what I was looking for and the colour was just perfect.
I don’t want to continue with your color. It did not cover my white hair. I have a lot of white glistening through out my hair. I’m going back to L’Oréal, it actually covers everything.
This is a great medium brown, with gold hints and no red or coppery tones, which is the reason I got this color. The only concern I have is that this color does not last as long on roots as I would like. It does fade on the roots after about a week, so I am experimenting with perhaps leaving it on longer than 15 minutes. That doesn't change the fact that its wonderful color for a medium brunette, the trick is in the technique. Esalon has a lot of helpful hints on their site.
Updated on Sep 13, 2023: The solution to the roots problem was to slightly darken the color. That did take care of the root fade problem and the overall gray coverage was better. It didn't lose the gold tinge at all and the shade is not too dark, but this worked. I had almmost given up on getting it right but the colorist suggested a slight darkening and yep - that did it.
Had a conversation with my colorist she recommended a color that was not my choice. She said it would look fabulous. I explained to her my struggles of finding a stylist who knew how to use color properly. Mentioning that I knew that was something she did to match the color. You see my hair for some reason seems to go towards orange or red which I do not like on me. Received my shipment took 2 weeks to finally get my courage to do it to myself. As I massaged as instructed and noticed the color looked on the orange/red. I started to have an anxiety attack even my son who is my ride or die. Started teasing me about the orange color. I just stayed calm initially then after sometime I saw RED.
Son teasing me again. As concerned as I was I did recall there were times when my stylist put the color in and it looked as if it was red/orange but she promised it would match. I held onto that mustard seed faith and told my son I have to wait till after rinse wash and dry to see the true color and I closed my eyes the whole time . I started blow drying it still orange/red. Blowed dryer it more.. than stopped looking. I used the techniques that you had on YouTube... it was easy peasy!! Last but not least the color was spot on !! I was truly grateful for your assistance.
I wanted to add some coppery gold tones to my medium/ light brown hair, The first color was a little too gold but customer service was terrific and corrected the color right away and now it is perfect.
I liked it, it was easy to use, but it didn't charge all the white wires and that was my main goal. I got the color right, with your help, it was the same tone as my natural hair.
Hi I would like to have the next one a shade darker and it is still a bit orange would it be ok to have a bit more violet in there please but lovely coverage and does not fade at all

I left eSalon for a year or two thinking it was easier to just have a salon do my hair color. Each time I go, I bring pictures and describe what I want and never get it. I could have gone to my last salon and paid $225 (honestly!! $150/hour and she said it would take 1.5 hours) for color I probably would still be unhappy with. So, I thought why not give eSalon another try - I was always happy with the color. Well, I spoke to a colorist at eSalon and was a little nervous to try this new color but... it is exactly what I wanted. The quality is so good - no itchy scalp and the reps at esalon couldn't have been more patient and understanding with me. I will never leave again!!
I may have to change and no longer do business with you because of the top line on this page that Oprah likes you. I don't like Oprah as she thinks it is okay for people to groom children into sex trafficing. She said, " as long as they are not harmed" Doesn't she know that sex trafficing children is harmful to their social emotinal well being not to mention their physical health.
My first order was terrible it turned my hair orange. I called they sent another order with different formula. I was looking for Burgundy color this turned my hair orange/red. I thought to myself this is the last time I try and wow the color came out perfect. They did resend all the corrections free of charge and I did appreciate that. This last formula exceeded the expectation I had due to the prior 2 colors. Glad I gave them not one not two chances but three because the third time was definitely a charm!
I'm a month out now from an all over natural brunette coloring. Didn't like the texture of my hair for the first week, so dry. Correctable with treatments at home. Color is good. Grays are trying to shine through, but not enough to bother me. With my second use, i will only use it on my roots.
I love the product. But I am unable to continue right now. So please put my accnt on hold. I am unsure when I will be able to continue. Thank you so .much. I enjoy the product.

My first colour was not great but it was tweaked and I go this as my second colour. I love the colour but it does still have a tad of red in it. I can just about live with that amount although I don't love it. However the coverage is excellent and stays put! With shop bought box dyes I was having to colour my hair every 3 or so weeks. I'm 4 1/2 weeks post colouring and I think I'll only need to colour my hair in a week or so. The smell is very strong. I also find the step where you fill the bottle with water and then shampoo it for 3 minutes leaves it pouring into my eyes and it STINGS!!! I can't see how else to avoid this bar having a backwash like a salon. Other than that I can't fault this product!
