Really like my colorI really like the color. Even my hairdresser does, although I'm sure she wants me to have her do it!!! My problem is the grays come in quicker and quicker :) ...I wish there was a sponge or something that could fill in the grays in between coloring. The options on the market are sticky/tacky. Great hair colorI've been using salon for my hair color for over a year now and have gotten tons of compliments. People can't believe I don't spend big bucks at a salon. I noticed with this last order that the instructions were different. Instead of adding water to the remaining hair color after applying it to the roots, and massaging it thru your hair for 2 minuts, the instructions say to comb the color through then add water and massage the scalp for 1 minute. Looks great, lasts a long timeSend a photo of yourself and info on your present color. Giving as much info as possible will ensure positive results. Easy to use. Final step is messy. Amazing color that is spot on!!!!I have tried two colors. One for when my hair gets a red tinge to it from the summer sun and a darker one in the colder months with little sunlight. I at first thought the second darker color was a bit dark, but after waiting a day, even my husband said it was nice to see my natural color again. Therefore, I was mistaken with it being a bit dark. Great Way to Color HairMy hair color has always been between readily available products. Dark blonde is too dark and medium blonde is too light. So, I have mixed colors, but it is hard to get it exactly right. This product does it for you, and changes it if you want the color slightly different. Roots didn’t take. The rest of color, great.My roots did not take the color. Just okay.Works great for a week or less. Everytime I color, I love it but it just doesn't last. I generally only need to do my roots. I'm sure it probably works great for others but I've actually found supermarket touch-ups and semi-permanent colors to be longer lasting and significantly cheaper. The color looks just as good, my hair feels great and lasts for at least 3 to 4 weeks (my hair grows fast). I've been using eSalon for a few years but it only takes two washes and the grays of my roots are significantly lighter than the rest of my hair. Does not cover greyI love the customer service and believe colorists are experienced and customer friendly. I tried 5 times and worked with them to change my color. Looking for dark brown hair and grey coverage is not enough, I still see Grey's after following all instructions. I still like to go with them as it is ammonia free dye. Ruined My CountertopI've used your hair color a year ago, decided to give it another try because the compliments were non-stop and I loved it. I used most of the solution and noticed the bottle was warmer than when I started but I left the bathroom to set my timer and to get another towel. Not the colour they said.I sent a picture of my present colour which had root growth, that i had tried to do, this had a very warm tone. I spoke a couple of times saying that i definitely wanted no warmth to the colourist, so i was advised that a light brown with ash tones would be the best, i was only going to do the root growth although this was now a good 6 inches, but the rest of the length was fine. I paid for fast delivery but it still took about 9 days to arrive. I followed the instructions and was left with a very strong warm colour more then before. I washed it a few times and even put a blue shampoo on which didnt make any differance. I have now had to put a colour stripper on and have a fair ginger colour on my growth. Fades quickly, can’t get more to refreshI absolutely loved this color when I first ordered it, so much so that when it began to fade I immediately ordered more. I only received my root color. I was shocked by this since I used esalon in the past and the kit typically refreshes the entire color. While it’s a great product, I feel like that was there was to save money at the customers expense. I don’t think any product designed to color my hair that requires me begging customer service to include enough product to complete the task is worth it. Not worth it!Not sure how there’s so many great reviews. I was pleasantly surprised with the presentation of the box and everything they sent however considering i colored my hair on 10/6 and today is 11/10 that’s not good. $4 revlon lasts longer and did a better job. Maybe because I’m a redhead but I don’t think that’s the case. This coloring made my hair multiple colors. I was grateful I did it right before Halloween. They sent a “root” color and a rest of the hair color. These colors looked like night and day they were so different. So in general, not for redheads! Too expensive and only lasts 3 weeks if that. I wasn’t planning on giving a review but I would’ve liked to have known this before purchasing so here I am. So today I’m trying the second box because I forgot to cancel autoship. I am hopeful that since I don’t have a “root” color that it won’t look as bad this time. Unless a miracle happens with this color job (highly doubtful) I will never purchase esalon again. Very disappointedI was looking to lighten up my natural dark hair so I decided to give myself a try. The palette offered through the app seems limited in terms of variety of colour for my taste but I decided to give it a go anyway. I chose one of the lightest tones available thinking it would be noticiable change. I followed all the steps, I covered all my hair and waited according to the instructions but the results were far away from my expectations. It has been 5 days since I applied the colour kit and I can't see a difference between my original colour and the formula chosen for me. Yikes...When I recieved this color I was suuuuuuuper excited. It looked great until week 3...then...there it was....suuuuuuuper hot roots. I chose a level 3 mahogany brown. My roots...well....they are a cranberry red....what the huuuuuuh? Didn't even last a weekStated I was 50% gray, colored my hair making sure to cover grays several times to make sure they were good and saturated. Followed instructions, probably left on for 5-10 minutes longer due to application and getting ready for rinse, wash, etc. Once I was done and dried my hair, the reason I colored it were staring me in the face. Grays white and bright with no color sticking at all. I'm three weeks after color and my hair is more gray than when I was 4 weeks past due w/ color - and its dull, has no shine and looks totally flat and unhealthy - and gray. I will never purchase again. And now I'm stuck becuase I don't want to put more chemicals on my hair until at least 5-6 weeks. I wanted to love it, but didn'tI started using this a few years ago. I love the company and customer service was really good for the first couple times when I had questions or wanted to adjust things. I found the color fades extremely fast on the hair dye and I ended up adjusting it so much because you can't really tell what it's going to turn out like. It often didn't look like how I was trying to get it to look. What would be good would be to see X is what your hair will look like with this color or a shade sampling but you don't get that unfortunately. My roots are still red and fade out so quicklyMy request/goal was a hint of red in my medium-dark hair. This is auburn or was when I was choosing a color. A small amount of red to add a tone that was noticeable when the sun shined on my head, that was what I wanted. When I'm indoors under recessed light, my freshly colored roots look very red. A week later they are pale, almost pink taking on a glow. I'm now buying boxed ash brown to get by. The dual process should be the perfect system to create a completed coloring for my "simple" request especially with increasing grey to deal with. Wrong Coloring 3 times nowI was so excited about my order. When my daughter applied my first set, it was roots to cover gray and 1 bottle of color for the rest of my hair. My roots (gray) were not colored at all which was bad enough but the color actually didn't color the regrowth as I am a medium brown and I like my color dark brown/black. Therefore you could easily tell where my gray was and regrowth was and my darker hair from about 2 inches from my scalp to the ends of my hair. I wrote in to my colorist again and sent photos, explaining what had happened and that my color should be even darker, they adjusted it. 2nd time weeks later after my adjusted color arrived we tried again, much to my dismay it still didn't cover the gray or the lighter regrowth. I wrote in again, explaining the same issue. E salon was kind they readjusted my color again and sent me 1 bottle free of charge. The one bottle they sent was for roots and all over color. Weeks later, my daughter applied this new adjusted color last night. After I rinsed it out then shampooed & conditioned with the product they sent, guess what? The yet again adjusted color did not cover the gray, nor did it color my lighter growth AGAIN. I literally cried last night as I cant keep doing this and paying for this product as well as the time wasted. I love the idea, but how many times can a woman re-color her hair before its destroyed? Not much because I do have damage and had to have my hair cut between my last color and the one last night and it is still not what it use to be. Don't misunderstand I am not reapplying every 2 weeks, I am waiting the typical 5-6 weeks with a lot of gray and light brown regrowth. I am extremely upset and just want to cry again today. Yes we follow their directions to a T. Before eSalon, the product I was using from my local beauty supply store gave me zero problems and it covered everything to perfection. Not the color I wantedI want it to get the color disclosed to my natural hair and to dye my ends I add photos and everything. I color my hair for so many years now and this was not even close. They suggested dying my roots and then everything else. I DID IT! and now my hair is so much darker at least 3 shades difference and my roots have some reddish in it. THAT I TOTALLY HATE. I will wait for a little bit and I'm gonna use toner and try to lighten it. Overall was an easy and quick application. E salon SUCKSFirst off, I was super excited to receive my color set. Rave reviews and quick shipping…love. I told my colorist my current hair color and the color I wanted to achieve. My natural hair color is brown, however, my hair is currently blonde. I wanted to go for a light brown. However, I would’ve been nice to know that I would need an orange or red color beforehand to get rid of the blonde. So, my hair is completely the same. Nothing at all as changed. I’ve been crying forever. Oh and also…..my volume 20 developer just EXPLODED everywhere. I was sitting in bed and heard a strange noise. I look over and the developer is on the ground with hair dye ALL over my room. My walls are now stained with hair dye (which I will get fined for so thanks eSalon, I appreciate that). My sheets, blankets, makeup, skincare, carpet, floor, walls, clothes, and blinds are all COVERED with hair dye. I highly recommend staying away from this company. When were they mention in those high-valued magazines? What, in 2010? Because they sure don’t deserve it now. Color changeI just had Sara change the % of peroxide now 15% but color is still too yellow. I would like a beige tone; my hair stylist suggested a Pearl color without peroxide.. What do you think? WOMEN BEWARE!!! SEVERE HAIR LOSS!I have very long, naturally red hair. I've used this product two times to cover my grays. After the 1st application I noticed heavier than usual hair shedding. After the 2nd application on April 2nd I immediately had severe hair loss. It's been 2 weeks and I'm still losing hair at a catastrophic rate. I was literally crying in my bathroom this morning as I very cautiously brushed my hair and watched in horror as hundreds of strand of hair fell into the sink. The color was not for me. (Dark Pearl Copper Blonde)I was anticipating a dark blonde. My natural color is dark blonde. I dyed my hair and became an auburn color. After about a week some fading started. Next I was dark blonde. One to two weeks thereafter seems I was at my original color. This is washing my hair everyday or every other day. I was offered a credit and was told I cannot purchase something like the tint rinse or shampoo with that. I’d rather do so because the color I was not as happy with as I thought I would be. ColorMy color had more brown than Mahogany. My color from the salon has more Mahogany tones that are cool undertone and not brassy or warm red undertones. Still on a journey to find my natural hair colourHello, This was my 3rd colouring and even with the slightly lighter shade that was recommended, I still find it too dark. My hairdresser also strictly followed the instructions regarding the step "Blend for shine". Use to be awesome.I've used the Custom Color Set for several years and always had many compliments, even from professional hairdressers. The last few times I used it, the gray did not get covered. 2-stars for the Staff & Process but me.....Not Happy!!!When I first started using the system, it worked! It worked a lot better than the off the shelf systems, As time went on, first I noticed build up on my scalp, then the the color would not last, especially the front roots. I attempted to eliminate the causes. First, gave myself a thorough scalp cleanse every week to remove the build-up. To watch the color wash along the roots on would watch how close I would let soap het to hair while cleaning my face. I woke this morning (Tuesday) after applying the color Saturday now color is missing along the roots AGAIN!... I noticed the non-full-coverage immediately after drying my hair via towel. Coverage failed in places along the front of scalp even though I thoroughly applied the color to every strand using the tools provided. Leftovers exploded - red all over my bathroom - looks like a crime sceneI cannot believe I am not seeing this here as it happened to me twice (I have only used twice). I don't like to use the whole bottle since I have short hair. I mistakenly put the top back on the mixed chemicals I didn't use and staged the leftovers to throw away but before taking it to the trash heard a hissing sound in my bedroom to luckily discover it before it blew up all over (only some started seeping out on the box or else it honestly would have blown up red over my whole bedroom). Round #2 being smarter I didn't put the cap on but did place a tissue on top so it wouldn't spill. Came back to the bathroom with it exploded again all over my bathroom. Countertop and cabinet of vanity looks like a crime scene. Won't come off (not kidding, just finished bathroom reno last month). Look, I get that I didn't use the whole bottle like it says but how is this not noted anywhere in the instructions?!?!? The slightest reference may be in step #2 when it says "this is important, don't skip, lather the remaining bottle before rinsing". I thought that was for the color to hold not to avoid an explosion that permanently ruined my bathroom. Still a little red!I love the package your recieve and it makes it all so easy, however my colour is still more red ! I like ash and cooler shades of blonde but this colour still comes out draker then my hair is and with this red in it. Dull ColorI have never used a color that is supposed to be in the auburn family that is so mousy and dull! I have been coloring my hair at home for more than 20 years, using both professional and boxed color, and I have never had this experience with any hair color in the red family of colors. My hair felt like straw until I used the conditioner. I wish I would have stopped the second order from shipping because now I feel obligated to use it so that I don't waste the $30 that I spent on it. What the hell?I’ve been getting color here for a while and had no issues. My hair has grown a lot so I added an extra bottle to my order and instead of blonde my hair came out bright red. Color was different than the normal color.I colored my hair and then used the light set I had been sent previously. The color seems darker than I have ever been, almost black. pretty good but I missed a spotI just noticed today that i missed an entire area on the top of my head near the back. Anyway I have moved up my shipping date as it took 2 weeks from ordering to receiving last time and I don't want to delay my next attempt! I might enlist a friends help next time. Even the 2. color is terrible...I ordered golden blonde since my hair used to be a goldeny blonde and got darker with age. My current hair color is very dark blonde/light brown. I tested the color on a small strand and my hair color did not change. eSalon was very nice and called me to send a new color, which had a 25 vol. developer instead of the previous 15 and was supposed to be lighter. I tried another piece of hair and lo and behold, my hair may have actually gotten darker. It definitely has a red tint (i would say my hair has green undertones lol) and I genuinely do not see any lightening effect. It may be that we have fundamentally different understandings of "dark blonde" but I honestly gave up trying to dye my hair and will be asking for a refund since even after sending them 8 photos we cannot just blonde my hair. Dark blondI have used this product 3 times before and the color was perfect. I used this last batch (same color) and 20 minutes in I knew it was much darker than what I had used in the past. So disappointedI ordered this product mainly for the ease n natural color The first time using this product it didn’t cover the grey just turned it orange luckily I have little grey n thought I probably didn’t wait long enough so eagerly waiting for the second color I have bought new products I received my color made sure I followed the instructions exactly not only did it not color the grey but has left my hair feeling dry n straw like I have very long hair that I’m careful not to damage so I’m very disappointed would not recommend this product 0 of 0 people found this review helpful.
