3 orders with not enough productIf I can rate them as 0 I would..I've received 3 orders with less than half the regular amount of developer...I've sent messages each time with photos of unopened product and each time I get an apology and issued another shipment that comes with less than half developer..I cant use a full color with half developer so these shipments are no good for me to use..so I am discontinuing my subscription 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. .SpilledThe product arrived damaged. The box was black. Upon opening it . It appears if the lid was not placed tightly on the color bottle and the color spilled in travel. Color was alll wrongI ordered what I thought was a medium blonde. The color was too dark. It has faded to a brassy red blonde. It looks terrible. The roots are white and the girl that cuts my hair said it was a "mess". It has dried out the ends and they are splitting. She cut about 2 inches off the length. She said she would have to strip the color before she could get a color that would work. I know this will further damage my hair. I need help. I have not cancelled the order just put date off. Don’t order if you are in CanadaThe company ships from California, so after a month I’m still waiting for the first shipment and they are about to charge me for the next one. My colorist messed up my colorLong story short, I ended up with brown roots and orange-pinkish ends. I looked like Johnny Depp in Alice in Wonderland. Great shine but more red than before and gray only gone for a weekI tried to get an ash color to remove the red from my hair. I also wanted to cover the gray. The color turned out a dark redWhen I selected the color I wanted I asked for Violet Tones. Then I selected Violet 6.25 which came as Light Brown (Pearl Mahogany). After I colored my hair following every instruction including time down to the minute, my hair came out dark red. I did not want my hair red. I wanted light brown hair with violet(purple) undertones. I have light skin with pink undertones, so the red hair color makes my skin look very flush all the time. I even purchased the website suggested Tint Rinse color purple, so that I could maintain the purple undertones. I have not used Tint Rinse yet I'm scared or what it would due to the red color. I still gave the Custom Color Set 2 stars not based on the color I recieved, but on the ease of use and it did cover the few grey hairs I had very well. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Washes out extremely fastFirst of all when I did my color profile I said I wanted permanent and when I recieved my order I was given demi permanent. When I dyed my hair I followed the directions to a T. I actually left the the dye on a couple extra minutes. After two weeks which is about 7 washes the color has faded dramatically. I even bought the tint rinse to help keep the color and use it with every wash when it only recommends twice a week and it apparently hasn't helped at all. I'll give it one more chance. Way too darkThis came out nothing like the color swatch picture. Really hard for redheads to find a shade, I have golden strawberry blonde naturally and wanted a little more vibrant red. I'm now a brunette with a garnish red tint. So disappointed. Why do reds have to be classified into a blonde or brunette category? That should have been my first clue. Wanted Brown, got redI was happy that my grave routes were covered. But my hair is Brown with red undertones. Now it is red with Brown undertones. Thankfully, I have not been out in public often due to the virus. It did Make my hair very soft and conditioned. I will say you can tell where my Gray roots were and it did not blend the new colors at all. Ifeel like i have two lines on other side of my head. It probably would have been a great deal happier if I used the root color on my whole head instead of the color which contained no brown. Low cost, grey was gone, wong color. They even changed color based On a photo I sent which I thought was a great touch but it still turned out the wrong color. Thank goodness it’s quarantine.I dyed my hair last night. When drying it looked like I had faded pink highlights. Went into different lighting and it looked much better. This morning, I find some of the color has faded a bit, but am catching the red tones. It makes my hair color look fake. I applied according to the instructions, but still see grey. customer service?I tested hair strands but had a problem with the hair dye not depositing any color on my hair at all, despite following directions. I contacted customer service but the replies took an average of one week each, which can be understandable during these times but I was eventually ignored and have not gotten a reply for 5 weeks. Too thick, new formula is awfulYou announced a new thicker creamier formula and today is my first application with it. I found it so thick it doesn't want to come out of the bottle. How is this helpful for a roots only application? Seriously, I'd have been better off mixing it in a bowl and spooning into my roots. Why would you change? Home coloring is messy enough but having to shake the bottle down (even when keeping upside down) and having just air burp out spots of formula is even messier than a thinner mix. Wrong colour. Terrible serviceThis was my first time to use esalon and I was nervous but excited. I ended up just being disappointed. I did have blonde highlights with long roots due to lock down. I ordered a blonde full head colour. I recieved a kit only for my roots that ended up being dark brown. I emailed customer services and after 6 days I have had no response. So disappointedFirst let me say, I am a trained stylist. I just wanted to give this product a try. I took the "quiz" and stated I have very resistant gray. I also mentioned it on the comments. I even sent pictures. The color recommended by the stylist did not cover my gray and did not match my hair. My roots are way lighter than my hair shaft. I followed the instructions exactly. Love the color but...I love the color and would like to try other products but they have been "out of stock" for months & months. I contact them every month for an ETA on "out of stock" products but so far nothing. Colored hair needs protection so better to use a different brand product outside of esalon than no product at all, right? Updated review May 27th 2020 I still love the color but recently had to buy a color from the grocery store because May 5th order was lost in the mail and replacement is "suppose" to be delivered today. 22 days! Very disappointed esalon couldn't send me a rush replacement. My suggestion is to always have a backup color on hand for emergencies. I've some grays that seem resistant to color!So, there are quite a few grays that are resistant to color. Also, the color could be a touch darker. MehhIt was a great presentation with really cute packaging. Easy to follow instructions and for the most part painless. Unfortunately 3 weeks later it’s really brassy and so much lighter around my hairline. It looked great the first week but it started losing its luster quickly after. It may be my fault and I might’ve ordered the wrong color for my hair. I’m not a professional and I’ll admit I was a bit overwhelmed at choosing the color I needed. UpsetI accidentally ordered just a root touch up. I called 2 days later and spoke to two different people. They said they would send me another bottle with my order since it hasn’t shipped out. Color Didn't Match-- Would not recommend this product based on the experienceThe color provided didn't match my hair and turned it red. I emailed eSalon regarding this and was informed it would never match because I have highlights. eSalon should screen those potential customers to give them warning of this. The team member then said he would ship an ash to me to take the red out and cancel my subscription. It never came. 1st time userI was so excited when my kit arrived. I got my daughter to do it for me incase I missed anywhere. Unfortunately the brown was too dark. DisappointedQuite frankly I did not care for this product at all. It smelled intensely of ammonia, mixing two separate bottles seemed unnecessarily complicated, and my hair is dry and strangely fuzzy in the root area. While the coverage and color is decent, I expected something that left my hair feeling healthier than when I started. However the opposite is true. Not the color I ordered.Although it covers the red that I was not liking. It is way darker than the dark blonde that I was going for. I had talked to my colorist before the order went through and she said that she was going to make it a more of a light brown. My hair is still darker than that. DISAPPOINTEDI found the color to be messy from start to finish. I have been coloring my hair at home for years and have been using the "over the counter" brand for many years and have never encountered hair color being as messy as this was. I followed instructions from start to finish. When rinsing color out, color stained my hands, fingernails, and ran all down my face into my eyes burning my eyes and making them red. Nice, but faded quicklyIt was a lovely package and easy to use. I especially liked the separated roots application, although this did mean there was a lot of waste product. After the colour was done it looked great, but very quickly my grey hair were visible and after a couple of weeks the colour has totally faded. I do use a colour protection shampoo and conditioner and only wash my hair a couple of times per week so I did not expect it to fade so quickly. Long lasting colorthe main complaint i have is only on my most recent order. The directions were different. After coloring and setting for the wait time, it said to put water in the bottle of dye and get in shower to add it to my hair. I was so asphyxiated by fumes in the shower! Bad scene!I received my color box in mid-May but just colored yesterday May 24. I was surprised to see the box didn’t include the rat tail brush for application of the color since I used the brush/bowl technique before & it worked out ok. I checked the instructions/ contents list of items and no brush. Since I only had the bottle this time I tried that and what a MESS! My hair is thick and below shoulder length. I could not get a good part just using bottle tip - which is blunt. The parts become more random as I went, my hair got goopy with color and tangled, and color got on areas it should not have. I had to rub the color in at the roots and hope it would cover the gray as needed and not the previous color. My thick, long hair is not easy to color by myself at best. This was an especially difficult process with the bottle only and a very frustrating & disappointing experience. If you no longer include the brush as part of the package, I want to know that because I need it to successfully apply color. Way Too Much Red!!I should have known when I saw the word copper, this was not the right color for me. It has Way tooo much red in it, in fact I didn't want any red... I picked a medium blonde. Maybe its the more gray my hair turns, the more red highlights come out. I'm going to give it one more try with adjustment of color. I like the whole kit plan though. Do not useIt literally turned my hair orange. I sent 3 pictures of my hair and explained what I wanted - no red tones, cool ash tones, & to get rid of brassiness in my highlighted hair. This turned my hair literally bright orange, I have never had this happened to me before with box dye. I wish I had never used this product. Wrong color!!!So I was so excited to finally have hair color specific for me. Unfortunately that thought bombed!! My hair color is no where near the light blonde I ordered, plus there's alot of red, in my notes to my stylist I informed them I pull red tones therefore color has to contain Ash, normally I simply highlight ugh I'm so frustrated right now!! 0 of 0 people found this review helpful.
