I have never coloured my own hair, I always go to a salon. I wasn’t happy with the first colour I received, I asked for it to be adjusted and it is really lovely and I’m super happy with the colour now. I love it. I am a definite convert to home colouring.
It took me a while to pick out the color as I wanted to ensure a perfect match to my red/brown color. The pictures seem quite accurate as the one I chose is a perfect match. I also uploaded a photo of my color after my most recent salon visit. I only had to color my roots to cover the grey and it was pretty easy with the instructions, even completely by myself. I'd suggest if possible having an extra mirror to be able to see the back of your head if you don't have a friend to help. Plus, the kit is incredible with everything you need and I even loved the shampoo and conditioner. However, I would suggest shampooing your hair twice with dark colors as I was worried about it on my scalp and hairline. Definitely will do again - looks as good as the salon for hundreds less.
When I dye my hair I usually need 3 store-bought boxes to have enough to get all of my waist length hair. They sent me 2 bottles and it was more than enough. The results were amazing! It's so soft and shiny and it almost glitters in the sun. Their conditioner even stopped my waves from frizzing afterward which I've never had outside of a salon color session.
While there is a bleachy smell while processing (I was going lighter so the smell was to be expected) it's much less than any box dye I've tried.
This is everything as advertised. I couldn't be more pleased. I was going to let my hair grow out then decided to
try this. I will wait awhile now to grow out my hair.

This was soooo easy. I had only had my hair professionally colored before (for more than 30 years) and my stylist recommended eSalon when it became clear that she would not reopen in the foreseeable future. I talked to the colorist twice, completely reassuring, knowledgeable and professional. They got the absolute right color, my daughter could easily apply it and it looked fantastic. I no longer am reminded about the holding pattern we are all in every time I look in a mirror. I know it is self-absorbed, but I feel so much better and my mood has really improved. I am in a much better frame of mind to go to work and can focus on others. Now if it could get an e-hair cut!
I have a full head of gray hair that is hard to color. This product worked well and covered my roots. I did not use it on the ends because it is so long since I've had a haircut.
So I had an allergic reaction to the patch test. Of course, this meant that I couldn't use the dye. When I rang up customer service they were super understanding and even sent over the ingredient list so I can find out what it is that caused my reaction. They also refunded my order right there and then. All of this has resulted in my four star review. Of course, it's sad I couldn't use my dye, but eSalon's customer service handled this really well, and I'm impressed.
I was so happy with my first experience with eSalon. As an unnatural redhead, I've had plenty of color disasters in my life (think bright red roots with the rest of my hair nearly black), plus my hair is just difficult to get to an even color because there's more build-up as you go down the hair. eSalon included two different dyes in my first package, the first just for my roots, and the second for the rest of my hair, and it blended to a perfectly even color! I'm honestly amazed that they were able to make it work using one selfie better than the results I've gotten from some actual salons. Plus, my hair is shinier and feels smoother than it was when I was buying dye from a beauty supply store, and the shampoo/conditioner they have you use after the dye made it so that I didn't have purple pillowcases and towels and no color running the next time I washed my hair. Also, the dye droplets didn't seem to stain my white bathroom as much. I don't know how it's possible, but I'm very happy! If I had to give one critique, it's that I wish they could use more eco-friendly packaging, like maybe less cardboard/paper/plastic and I really only needed one pair of gloves instead of two, but I also know it's a challenge to package these chemicals in a sustainable way. This product is easy to use and the color was great.
If you are afraid of coloring your own hair, the instructions put you at ease and the color match was very good.
I started having gray hair at a very young age. Therefore I been dying my own hair for over 30yrs with store bought hair dye. At the end of the day, I was not happy with the color. I could never get the correct color no matter what color I bought.
I love my hair color and texture since I started coloring my hair with esalon. I have used it 3 times in a row, and each time it gives me consistency, which was what I was lacking previously.
Highly recommend for anyone requiring hair dye.
Staff is on top of any changes you want to make in color. Great results. More diffused highlights . Looking for my next shipment. I suggest trying it, you'll be happy!
This product is so much better than the boxed brands. It is easy to use and gentle. I love the way my hair smells after I use the shampoo that comes with this. I would recommend!
I was a little hesitant about purchasing-just because of nerves & wasn’t sure how it would turn out. I was so nervous to dye my hair b/c it was platinum/gray (very light) & wanted a more natural color. I didn’t know how to achieve this. This product worked great & was tailor made just for me.
Can’t wait to receive my next order in July. I’m curious to see how this product does over my natural roots.
I must admit, I was nervous when I first colored my hair, not really knowing what to expect. I had alot of white in my naturally red hair. I was shocked to see all of the white gone and was afraid I went too dark red. Those feelings didn't last long when I started looking at old pictures of myself. I couldn't believe how close to my natural red the colorist came, and on the first try! I am so happy with the color and my hair could not be softer! A lady coming out of the church across the street just stopped me and told me how gorgeous the color of my hair is and how it shines in the sun. Could not be happier!
I have had my hair colored professionally for more than 30 years. The E Salon products really exceeded my expectations! I think the color looks better than having it done in a salon. Beautiful color and the packets of shampoo and conditioner leave hair very soft and healthy!! Really love it!

Just tried your hair colour for the first time. Can't believe how well the colour turned out. The directions were explicit and easy to follow. I did the strand test and decided to leave the colour in place 10 minutes longer than the directions as the roots were pretty white. Very pleased with the results. I will be telling my friends and family about esalon. Thank you.
E-Salon treats me well, and never hesitates with my color changes, although they do give great advice. I wanted to go a certain color at the beginning and they convinced me that it would not look attractive on me. Their permanent color stays longer than others I have used before needing root touch ups. It looks good, feels soft and I love it!
Great and I am now on the auto ship. I was skeptical at first but love it! I went from a brassy yellow blonde to light brown in one coloring and it was perfect.

Followed directions (all of them!) Hair color perfect coverage and blend for partial gray hair. Has not faded so will be able to extend time between using color too. Surprised and pleased with result. Will continue to use this product and service.
This was the easiest, fastest way I ever colored my hair. My husband helped me and it was easy following the directions and video. Color covered all the gray. Next time I will go a bit darker.

So I think I've had 9 orders so far with esalon. Every. Single. One. Has been amazing. The color is beautiful, evenly distributed. It looks so natural. Shipping is fast, and they are great about listening to feedback. Oh, and the price can't get much better. I'm not an expert, and I can definitely say this product is fool proof
I am in LOVE with my color. I simply followed my colorist instructions step by step and seeing all of my gray hairs fully covered for the first time its simply amazing!!!. At my hair dresser she would charge me up to $120.00 for the amount of dye she needed to cover my grays and still didn't get the coverage needed like eSalon did.
I will definitely continue using eSalon for my hair dye needs now and in the future
The color is perfect! This is a great at home color! There is NO odor and the directions are very clear. I highly recommend and I will continue to use after the quarantine
I'm almost ready to give up my salon after using this product.

One of the bright spots about quarantining during a pandemic is finding this product. It includes easy instructions and a quality salon grade product.The service has been excellent as well. I made a small change with my last order and they were spot on with the color. Shipping times have been timely. I would recommend eSalon with high ratings.
I took the leap out of desperation, with my head increasingly filled with gray stripes and orders from my stylist not to cut or color my own hair. I stumbled across the eSalon ad, was impressed with the reviews and the fact that I was asked to send a photo to make the color match more likely. The package arrived and worked like a dream. I had help in the back from my daughter.
The color was easy to apply and was a perfect match to what I was looking for. It took only one experience to make the decision to color my own hair going forward. The result was essentially the same and I saved a great deal of money - can't beat that outcome!

Finally! Beautiful results with easy step by step instructions - at home! eSalon gave me all over even coverage that lasts! Easy to apply and it covers grey! My hair was immediately silky soft and exactly how I would want it. I have never experienced that feeling of..... let's be honest...relief and instant joy, when using other home hair colour products! My color match was perfect. I was a bit skeptical but once I applied the color to the roots it was perfect. My friends did not realize I had done it at home.
I wanted to go from summer blonde to dark brown with red. When i chose my color, my stylist contacted me to tell me i would need a "fill color" to avoid a muddy look. Without that advice, my hair would have suffered. The product worked great and my hair felt amazing. I am going to try their shampoo and conditioner soon.
The color eSalon mixed for me was just right. It covered all my gray hairs and my roots blended in well with the rest of my hair. It looked very natural. Also, it was very easy to apply.
Directions were easy for me to follow. I used the brush to apply color to my roots. Results were beautiful; color was perfect for me, and my hair was very shiny and lustrous afterwards.
The colorist nailed the perfect color the first time! Super easy to use and everything needed to do a professional job at home was in the kit. I've had my hair professionally colored for years and love my hairdresser, but now I have a dilemma--I like the E-Salon color products so much better! My hair used to really dry out between colorings at the salon, but with these products my hair has stayed soft and manageable with incredible shine. I'll hate doing it, but my hairdresser will only see me for cuts now, I'm afraid.
Loved this at home color system. Not only was the shade phenomenal, the application process was easy to follow and worked out wonderfully.

Was actually the color I was pretty much going for and it actually lightened a little bit instead of darkening. I tried a different salon company before and what they sent me darkened my hair and was not the type of red I was looking for. Definitely happy with the results and it wasn’t difficult to use at home. Would definitely recommend trying eSalon out!
I have colored my hair for 40+ years. I have tried diy products many times. I have never been able to find a color that matched my medium brunette color before. I am completely white headed and my roots would always be flaming red when I attempted to color my hair at home. This product covers my roots, leaves my hair feeling healthy and lasts very nicely. It has not had a color build up where the ends of my hair get darker and darker. The cost savings are great, also. I am extremely happy with the product. I love the conditioner and ordered a bottle to use between colorings.

Love my hair color it is alittle different than usual but I am enjoying the difference, all the tips on how to do my color myself very helpful, so glad I found eSalon!

I loved the product coverage. I have a few grey that wash color out right away. It has been several weeks and the only grey showing is what has grown out. The color was perfect. I was super surprised and happy. Also my hair didn't feel dry after. Super excited about this product.
I LOVE this product. My hair color turned out beautifully, despite my being a complete beginner with at-home treatments. Since it was my first time, I’ll share a bit more for those who may find it helpful. The directions were clear, and included personalized tips for accomplishing what I had said I wanted to accomplish (covering roots w a lot of gray, but also blending with/touching up whole head). The formula was easy to mix; scent was not overpowering. It was easy to apply - not too thick or too runny. I found it useful that the directions included information such as being able to use the brush and/or your fingers when applying. I was rather nervous (I had never even used non-permanent spray-on root color or a wash-in tint out of fear of creating a hair disaster), so such tips made me relax into the process. I used both brush and fingers when applying - whatever felt right. Even though I looked like a mess after applying (nothing like at the salon + color looked freaky DARK!!) the result was fabulous, After blow drying, my hair was soft and shiny, and the color “me” but even better. My sister saw me on a video call and said it’s the best color my hair has ever been. I agree. It’s a brownish/dark blonde-ish with some gold. Looks natural, yet has a bit of pizzazz - exactly what I asked for. Was worried it would look dull, muddy or all one solid color but that is not the case at all. I’m delighted with the results, and a lot more confident in coloring at home. I’m so grateful to the colorists at e-salon. (Note - I included photos when ordering, and described what I wanted. I am not sure if the colorists used the info, but it certainly seems like it!) Thank you so much e-salon!!!
