Not goodI am happy I was refunded due to not being happy with my results. What I’m not too pleased with is the fact that this company promises.... I mean PROMISES to find a custom color that works for you, but if you ask for help too much they cancel your account and say “sorry can’t help you” and your left with brittle hair that looked better before you ever used esalon. I recently tried they’re light set, I followed all the instructions to the T, and surprise... it didn’t work. I emailed them and just simply said hey Your super expensive light set didn’t do anything.... at all, and within minutes they sent me a refund , full price, along with an email saying “ we can’t do your color, sorry” so on that note, esalon 1 does not take criticism, I’m telling you your kit doesn’t work and your dismissing me and 2 is not custom , they’re colors are codes and if they don’t find a code that works , they send you on your way, it’s false advertising. worst colour product I have ever usedif it would be possible to give minus stars or at least no stars i would. i am very unhappy. my hair was light blonde with hints of yellow and my own colour, reddish, copperish blonde. i ordered a root kit to make my hair a cool blonde, grey, silverish white blonde. i spent all this money and effort to end up exactly my own haircolour, copper blonde, warm, bronish/red. everything i don´t like!! not at all what i ordered, am sad and dissappoint i messed up my hair. very unhappy. wonder if i have ben sent the wrong colour. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. I did not like this product.I had my cousin who's a stylist apply the color and followed all guidelines as suggested...cool water to wash my hair, special color safe shampoos, ECT..but despite that the color began to fade after 2 weeks or so. In addition to that it was supposed to be a violet shade and it wasn't even close to that. Also, my hair is now brittle even though we followed the directions exactly as they were written. I don't often dye my hair and have never had this problem in the past. My hair was healthy, thick and shiny. Now it's rough and frizzy. I would like a refund. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. First tryI love the ease of picking a color and having it shipped to me whenever I'm ready. My color didn't turn out the way I was hoping, I picked too dark of a base color. I don't know why but it seemed like it took forever to get the color out of my hair. Green was not the shade I wanted!Was a lot darker than expected and was incredibly difficult to remove. It also left my hair with a definite green tinge. Whether the green beats the orange tones that are usually left is debatable. I had to go to the supermarket to get another colour to cover this. demi is not temporary color do not be fooled as I wasafter nearly a year with salon,the color became increasingly redder!!Several attempts to correct were made to no avail..finally it was STRONGLY SUGGESTED I seek professional assistance.Long story short,$160 later most,not all the color is removed,the rest will have to regrow,something I was trying to avoid,with semi permanent. Color Mix upIn the past, my purchases have been just fine. However my most recent shipment of color was not. The #2 bottle was not the color I wanted. Not crazy about the new packagingThe new packaging sucks! The color leaked. The toner bottle I couldn't get tight enough I guess and it was coming up out of the neck. It's a big bummer. The shampoo and conditioner packets are way harder to open especially with wet hands. Not Copper Enough and won't wash out.I ordered this hair color previously and it was a decently bright copper red. This time I feel slightly like a brunette with some red highlights. I knew it might be slightly darker the way I dyed it but it is waaaay darker and barely even red. It was quite disappointing since last time it went mostly well. However both times it was nearly impossible to wash out of my hair. I used all of the shampoo given and then had to use my own to just get the stuff out of my hair. Then I woke up this morning with parts of my hair still feeling weird and had to wash my hair again. Really loved the presentation but didn't do much for my hair.When my package arrived I was so estatic to unbox it. I have to give it to esalon for making hair color so fun and personal, I loved the whole concept and they really make sure your coloring experience is seamless. I just didn't love the color. It's not at all what I imagined. Maybe my hair needed more time to process, etc. but this shade of blonde only slightly diminished some brassy tones. Used to love it, now...I have been a faithful eSalon customer for years, but I’m considering moving on. This product redesign is to blame. I hate when companies can’t leave a good thing alone. 1. Too much unnecessary plastic is making the environmentalist in me twitch. 2. Redesign colors and fonts are bland and I can’t quickly tell products apart like I used too. 3. New developer bottle pinhole is too, too small. I have to adjust it myself with scissors which sometimes results in too much product being dispensed. 4. New color bottle has a wide mouth that you are trying to pour into a smaller developer bottle, making that precarious. Somewhat disappointedI have been using this product for almost 8 months to a year. sadly, this does not cover my grays like it claims. I have emailed regarding "adjusting" the color for coverage. However, nothing has changed. I have tried their root cover up and that was a bigger disappointment. It made my hair look dirty, didn't cover and if i ran my fingers thru my hair the dye got all over my hands!!!! Eventually i would have dark spots all over my face, i was horrified being in public and eventually noticing the spray had flaked all over my face. i will give this product a little more time but I'm thinking if you have stubborn hair this may not be for you. Colour was disappointing and faded very quicklyMy first colour was much darker than I had expected. I was not offered a refund or free second colour, despite their guarantee of this. The colour then faded within a week anyway and has left my hair a dull brown. Worst hair dye everWhen I selected my hair color shade I chose a shade of orange-red. I just dyed my hair and it is splotchy, waxy and ashy brown. This was the worst hair dye I have ever used. Great color, but limited staying powerI just started with eSalon. I love the hair color. The instructions are great, and hints on the web site are very helpful. The only issue... this color is very diminished after a few hair washes. It is great the first day, but fades rapidly. I wash my hair about twice a week, not daily, so the fading is unexpected. Made my hair stiff like a broom brushUsed it and it didn't do what it was supposed to. Plus it made my hair really stiff and sticky. Sticky and greasyLast time I chose a different color and I didn't have any problems! I wanted a dark brown this time which the color turned out beautiful, but my hair feels like there is a thick film on it and it looks greasy like I haven't showered in days. May 2018I'm not as happy with the product as I was when the package included two coloring steps. I'm new to this though, I first colored my hair at age 50 with your product so I really have nothing to compare it to. Not the color I expectedI specifically asked for a new formula in the shade of WHITE ASH BLONDE. I received a shade close to the color of a pecan shell with an auburn tint. Quality control issueI have been a customer for several years. My April order was a disappointment. The redesign has shampoo and conditioner in identical packages which makes it hard for those who shower without glasses. In this order I got two conditioners and no shampoo. Likely because packaging is the same and the packer did not notice. The opening on the developer bottle was so small I had to stop and get a pin to enlarge it. It was my intention to send these concerns via a contact us link but could not find one or any way to email customer service on the site. Thus, all can now see these issues. something differentI have been a happy customer for several years, but this color seemed different. First, I had asked for a little lighter, and it doesn't seem to be lighter at all (not a deal breaker) but the product seemed different. It was drippier than usual, but then when it was time to wash it out, it took forever! It just wouldn't wash out! I used the whole tube of shampoo supplied (usually just use half) and then I had to use my own shampoo and rewash again. I still feel a little sticky in one spot on my head. Not overly impressiveI have waited over 2 years to dye my hair after over processing my hair..... I waited til all the old dyed hair grew out and cut it all off..... now with hair that hasn't been processed in years I thought I would give this a try and I wish I didnt. I have started getting greys hence why i decided to dye my hair again and the dye barely colored it... i have dark brown hair and dyed it "medium brown" it made all my greys a dirty blonde color so they are just as noticeable as before.... now I'm wishing I would of went with an Auburn since the brown is very flat..... A small hiccup - no conditioner!My most recent shipment contained two shampoos and no conditioner......not a great mistake when coloring your hair. The color is beautiful, but I’m not convinced it’s healthier than semi permanent color. The smell of ammonia is strong and I can only imagine the effect on my hair. This experience was not goodI’ve colored my hair many times with esalon and loved it but for some reason this time has been the color from hell. My hair feels like a grease monkey that’s so sticky. I’ve washed my hair twice, once in the shower and after trying to blow dry the heavy mess, I washed it again in the sink. I wait for the water to run clear before putting condition in and why it feels like this, idk. I’ve never used the end shine color before that was given as a bonus, not sure if that’s the culprit!?! All I know is, I’m flying to Oregon tomorrow for my sons college graduation and my hair looks just awful!!! Not a happy camper right now. Too orangeHello, I claerly specified in my original order that I needed to stay away from orangish shines I too frequently get from hair colors. And the shade you prepared was no exception, it was faaaar too orange for my complexion. way too dark, blackI am frustrasted. My hair is dark brown, not black. Well, now is it black. I sent pictures along with selecting my natural color through the quiz. The Worst At Home ColorThis was my second time "trying" your at-home coloring, and it turned out absolutely horrible!!! The color came out way too dark, and left this horrendous sticky/waxy residue on my hair that took forever to come off. This is not what I paid 18 dollars for! I am demanding my money back!!! Sticky hairI really liked this color it was easy to apply but when it came to finding out the color it made my hair look and feel sticky and waxy. I've never used a hair color that made my hair feel this way. It took multiple washings to get the coating off my hair. Color was way too darkThe color was too dark and I would have to buy more product to get the color I wanted. I was told without buying that product I can't go lighter. Not the experience I’d hoped for.I was sent a preview of my color shortly after ordering and it was. NOT what I hoped for and I immediately reached out to try and change it. The first response I got was simply suggesting I do a strand test. No offer to halt production and discuss my concerns or even compassion for my situation considering this is my HAIR and not a pair of shoes. By the time customer service responded to my second request for help, the box had already been shipped. I was (and still am) frustrated because other reviews talked about how personal the process was, but it didn’t work that way for me. I tried the strand test but the color didn’t take, so I went for the full application. I had two bottles- 1 roots, 1 ends. What I wanted was to match my current deep red color (which I was VERY clear about and added a photo as suggested). What I ended up with was a muddy brown with limited gray coverage. I hope other people have a better experience than I did. Dreadful experienceIf I could give 0 stars, I would have. After all the advertisements I expecting a fantastic color. color not rightI was so extremely disappointed in my results. The color I asked for was "lighter rather than dark". I even sent a picture. My hair is so dark, auburn I guess. Not what I wanted. I don't recommend.I received the product and I was so excited to use it. The packaging was cute However the finishing results weren't as cute.. I wanted an ashy brown and ended up with a brown. Didn't listen to my feedbackI let my colorist know that my gray wasn't being covered well to blend with the rest of my hair. Nothing about the process was changed, just a bottle of color for the ends was sent. This definitely did not solve the problem of my gray being lighter than the rest of my hair.
