Worst Experience EverSo there needs to be a prominent warning in your products regarding what happens when you add water to the remain colour and then apply it on your hair in the shower. The fumes gagged me and I could NOT stand the burning in my eyes, nose and throat. This should NEVER be done in an enclosed space. I could barely get out of the shower dripping wet w hair color dripping off me - to take a breath of air that wasn’t fumes. Why would you not put a notice on your products about the fumes?? Aside from that - nothing happened. My color did not change around the roots or scalp or ends. It is exactly the same. I won’t even mention how dried out my hair is. Don’t ruin your hairPlease please please do not buy this product. Just pay that bit extra and go to a hairdressers or go to Asda and just get a decent box dye!! My hair is ruined. It’s dry and strands keep falling out. I’ve taken so much care with my hair for a year now and this has erased all of that hard work of keeping it healthy. Soft hair or I would have rated it a 1 🌟So yeah it was my first time, it was hard to rinse out but all color is for me, nothing terrible like I keep reading about. Left my hair softer than ever after a hair color. The bad part is the color didn't come close to the picture online. My brown is jet black.I had high hopes. I went into the esalon studio for my first time, I had a really bad color job done a couple months ago where someone tried to give me a lighter brown, like a chestnut but it came out rusty and with each attempt to fix it, brassy and patchy. It was so damaged I left it for a while to grow out despite the horrible warmth and brass tones. About two inches grew out and my greys started to come out and I decided i wanted to go back to my natural dark brown. Had a consultation and thought i was getting dark brown but my hair turned out pretty much black. Its so dark and darker than my natural dark brown. It looks like i used a box color from the pharmacy... its that kind of black. Im hoping it will wash out a bit after a couple washes?? I did also notice once outside in the sunlight there is deep burgundy tinge in the black which is a color i cant stand. A miss for meI used the light set along with a fall adjustment color this month and it was a miss for me. I have used your salon for quite a while and I expected much more than I received. Also... the pricing for the light set is considerably higher than it should be. The misses: Not enough color to do a full head of hair for a seasonal color adjustment. The light set needs to provide more detailed instructions and a better way to separate the pieces of hair that the light set was intended to be applied. Balayage for home colorists is not easy..... Didn’t fix issue as weellI have old highlights and was given 2 separate colors. The end color was pretty but the highlights still showed through a lot Not as blatant but it was still quite noticeable. Great color. Unusaly hard to wash outThe color I went with is amazing. I did leave it on about 10 min longer than the instructions stated but I had a hard time getting it to wash out. I scrubbed and scrubbed with both the shampoo and conditioner but I could only get it to really come out with a towel. It had turned into a Vaseline texture and just sat on my hair. I had to use my nails to scrap it off my roots and finally a towel. I'm not even sure if it fully washed out. I contacted customer service requesting to mitigate this asap and was told that my colorist would adjust my next order and if I wanted it sooner, I should change the delivery date. Extremity DISAPPOINTED!The picture when I clicked on the color of my choice is no where near what I recieved!! All you did was darken my hair a shade. I asked for a red. It's just a darker brown, now my natural red highlights are died brown I absolutley hate it. I emailed you and recieved one back saying to send a message above so I replied along with a picture of my hair the color I want, which is what my hairdresser achieved in one session along with my natural hair pic and what I got from your dye so you can see where you went wrong. I haven't heard back. I will close this membership of you don't fix your mistake. DissatisfiedI used the first order yesterday, 10/20/18, and was dissatisfied with the product and the whole process. The ammonia in the hair color was so overwhelming that it made my eyes tear; the process was too many steps to do at home by myself. The rinse part of the process made such a mess in the shower that it took another 1/2 hour to clean. did not try color, they adjusted what I orderedI ordered something to take my light brown, reddish hair darker. They adjusted it, and I agreed, but there was no way of seeing what they adjusted it to, so I trusted them. It arrived and it is plain dark brown, matte. I cannot change my light brown, reddish hair to almost black overnight. I also do not want something that looks so dead, I chose something with some shine to it. My custom color was not even close to my hair color.I sent a picture of my color when I first sent in a order to try and the custom color isn't even close. I have been traveling between family member in Texas and Arizona and this is the first time I had a change to try your custom color. I was extremely disappointed in the results. Bad; the color, after 3 washings is not like the pic. not happyI sent a picture. Sort of strawberry blonde. gold tones I guess. Not what I got at all. It looks brown with a hint of maybe some red casts. Only in the sun. But not in normal lighting. I am not happy with this at all and would like this redone. Please. I don't want red hair!After carefully following the instructions in my first kit, I was anticipating a gorgeous dark blonde color on my hair. Dark blonde is my natural color. Instead, after drying my hair, I saw that it was a dark strawberry blonde! I was so disappointed. The results were no better than that from a drugstore kit, even though the esalon kit was considerably more expensive. Not evenly dyed.It was my first time using eSalon and I was pretty excited to try a hair dye that I didn't buy at a drugstore. After using the hair dye it did leave my hair super shiny and silky which I appreciated. But I was left feeling disappointed because after using the 2 bottles of dye on my long hair the color just didn't turn out as vibrant as I expected. Need a richer conditionerI will preface this review by saying, I LOVE MY COLOR. I was getting my hair colored at high end salons in NYC and they were never able to achieve a color I was happy with. It’s kind of amazing that a colorist with only a photo of my hair was able to provide such great results. Full disclosure: I had to adjust the color once. That said - I am disappointed with the conditioner quality (and amount) the color package comes with. My hair does not look or feel “glossy” after I condition. Any suggestions? Waxy, sticky mess!After dying my hair, it would not rinse out. I had to shampoo it 4 times and still it was sticky. I finally used Dawn dish soap and my hair felt normal again. I am surprised the color did not strip out after so many washes. I was excited about this service, but very disappointed with the gross waxiness. ScamI ordered this product to see if I would like it. I did not. It was so waxy and thick in my hair like glue. I was getting really worried that I wouldn't be able to get it rinsed out. After shampooing three times it began to rinse out. I've colored my hair for almost 20 years and never experienced this before. I called and complained they apologized. Then next month they charge my credit card again almost triple my original price. I call to tell them I dont want this product and they said sorry we cant refund you. EditedEdit: After a few days and in just the right light, I am finally starting to see the golden tones of my color, so I guess maybe it just takes time. I paid about 3 times what I would pay for store-bought color (which would have been acceptable with good results) and my hair looks exactly (I mean EXACTLY) the same as it did before I dyed it. Color not what I expectedI ordered a dark brown, natural golden color. It was all dark, with no golden at all. I followed the directions, but the color has no life to it. Sadly disappointedI was so exited to try this product as the options for copper/lighter red options are dwindling in the drug stores and I have little time to head to a salon. I followed the instructions explicitly and everything seemed to be going well until I followed the final and “do not skip” last step. I added water to the remaining dye from bottle two and poured the mixture over my hair and began to, as directed, massaged vigorously. My hair almost immediately turned into a gelatinous mess. The consistency of everything changed, I could barely move my gloves fingers through my hair, and I had waxy build up on my scalp and through out my very thick curly hair. 30 minutes and 5 shampoos. That’s what it took to get whatever it was that built up in my hair out. I have no idea what the color *might* have looked like if I didn’t have to shampoo that many times on freshly colored red hair to not have all the waxy residue to remove but the end result was pretty unimpressive. It was dull, light auburn color that looks similar to the shades I was trying to avoid in the stores. Given that the introductory pack included the very much needed second bottle (ends refresher) for thick longer hair, I cannot say that this product is worth what will be $35 for each additional coloring on my hair. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Shady business!DO NOT deal with this company unless you want them taking money out of your bank account without your permission!!!! I didn't even have time to color my hair with the first kit they sent when I see they charged my debit card for another kit!!!! Of course they charged my card on a Sunday when there was no one in customer service to talk to!!! I even cancelled the order before shipment so they can refund my card and they shipped it anyway!!!! I called customer ASAP first thing on Monday and they were going to make me pay for return shipping!!! Upon talking to a manager they said they would give me a full refund, when I get the package put "return to sender" on it put it in the mail and call back customer service and they would credit my card. Well I did all that and when I called back to get my refund after putting the kit "return to sender" back in the mail the customer rep said they will give me the refund once they recieve it in the mail!!! Now they are giving me the run around and don't want to refund my money like they said they would!!!! This is so not fair!!! They never should have shipped that order and they shouldn't be making transactions on people's accounts on days and times there is no customer service available!!! I haven't used the first kit they sent me yet and even if I do and I love the hair color it will be ashame because I will never do business with this company again!!! Hair turned to silly puttyEverything was fine till I went to rinse out dye. My hair turned into a blob of rubber. It was not penetrated by water. The water solidified it. After panicking, I reached for the strongest shampoo I could find & was able to dissolve the congealed blob section by section. It was a frightening experience. Disappointing after a first great experienceI made a first order for a semi-permanent light brown and I was so impressed with the colour and everything. I recommended eSalon to my sister. She got a permanent darker brown/soft black. I helped her to apply the colour and it was a disaster. Like another customer, Laurie, despite following the instructions to the letter, when I tried to rinse my sister’s hair color, her hair seemed caked with glue. I used your shampoo and conditioner, then another shampoo, then an oil-based shampoo but her hair still felt gross and the water was still dark. After an hour in the shower we decided to stop washing as there was no improvement. We used a towel instead to tried to remove the ‘glue’ attached to the hair, applying lots of force. After another half an hour of this, there was still a slick coating on my sister’s hair. I was mortified by this. I had suggested your company to her and convinced her to give a try. But her colour was totally different from the one I received. I thought something was not quite right even when I mixed colour and developer for her - it smelled bad, like ammoniac, rather than nice like on my first experience. The glue effect went away after almost a week of vigorous shower and towel massaging. She looked messy and gross for almost a week. This is not acceptable! 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. Not my desired colorI'm considered a "natural red head" but my natural color is kind of a strawberry blondish brown...? I really wanted to have a copper orange red. So I went with Intense Copper... but ended up with just an auburn red, with copper orange-ish hue when the sun hits it....... :( I've never been able to achieve the color I desire... I was really hoping by trying this with a "personalized colorist" and adding my picture of my natural color I'd get a better match. It's not all for not... Waxy feelingI used the product 2 times. I liked the color, but I had to wash my hair anywhere between 5 and 6 times to get the color out after the allotted time. Color was too dark and product stuck on my hair.I wish to give a good review, because the idea is really good, but e salon didnt work for me. I wanted to change of a brown burgundy for a brow violet, My hair now is just a boring dark brown with any burgundy or violet and I waited until wash my hair few times before to write this review. In addition my hair is dry, because I need to use shampoo 4 times to remove the product of my hair, it was as a glue. Nice colour, too long of a process!I like the colour, the process however is just too long and the dye is extremely difficult to rinse out, I don’t like the shampoo or conditioner supplied, I had to wash and condition my hair a second time using my own to get it completely out of my hair, now let’s see how long the colour lasts. Too darkSo, I was told by the specialist that it was gonna be an ash brown with no red;however, it ended up being black blue and ruined my hair! I had to spend $120 at a real salon trying to get this hideous black out of my hair....they had a horrible time trying to remove this color....esalon offered me a different color for free, but did not respond when I asked about not being able to just color over BLACK! Living in Uk makes it difficult.Colour itself fine .but for me i do not like red tones that my hair throws .however freddie and team rectifying my awkward hair ! .i have every faith will get there in the end ! Toxic and bad colorA powerful and persuasive marketing effort, but the product does not match the pitch. My color is reddish, not the blond I ordered and moreover, the smell during application was so bad, like an old perm, that I had to open a window to keep my eyes from watering. Sadly DisappointedWas so excited to try this colour. I watched the videos and followed the enclosed instructions. The results were so disappointing. I have two large areas of grey, right at my temples. Like skunk stripes. The dye only VERY slightly coloured these grey areas, and washed out on the first shampoo (using eSalon Big Love Volumizing shampoo.) The colour itself had no dimension or gold tones. I am going to try one more time before canceling completely. I did love the shampoo that was enclosed with the colour kit. Not for meI sent an email asking that the color be made with a light blonde rather than a medium blonde because I wanted it to have a strawberry blonde look. Well it arrived made with a medium blonde color. I thought ok I'll try it. I was right. I don't like it...it's too dark and not red enough.
