Washes out and does not cover grey also made my hair brassyI’m most unhappy your first box washed out and didn’t colour greys so I had to buy a colour in the meantime you sent me a free one which I couldn’t use straight away as I had just coloured my hair. Wrong colors sentI spoke with someone about my hair and what we should do with the color. She had me do 2 Demi colors and they were not even close to the colors we spoke about. DisappointedFor some reason the color did not stick as well this time. It was not as rich as the first time and did not last. It seemed to wash out and I do not wash my hair that often. Good at first…The first set sent was great. After that every bottle turned my hair a different colour and I ended up going on holiday looking like Ronald McDonald! (Yes there were tears!) I still have two bottles that I had pre-ordered. I will not be using them and have gone back to my original brand. Good concept, bad coverage!This is my second time trying this hair color set out. I waited a year due to thinking maybe postpartum hormones were a factor but I don't find that to be the case. The first time, it didn't touch my very few grays. I went a darker color so I expected this to work. Aside from the horrific, eye burning smell, it didn't touch my grays. A year later, since my hair girl was put out of biz due to COVID, I decided to try again. This time, the awful smell was still there and my few tiny grays were only magnified by the copper in the color I chose. In my otherwise dark hair, they stand out like a lighthouse! Dries my hair out and color washes outI was excited after my first shipment and color. The color was nice and I felt like it lasted until it grew out, but I don't know if the second shipment was different, but my hair became very very dry after I touched it up and after only a couple of days the color on the roots began washing out and the grays began showing again. I had already added the Tint Rinse onto my next order before I applied the second color and forgot to cancel the third shipment, so now I got the third shipment with the TInt Rinse that I will not be using and is a waste of money. I am very disappointed that this dried my hair so as much as I wanted to use this service it is not for me. Still turned reddishThe color im going for is a cool beige which the ends of my hair are. My roots are still a reddish blonde color. I mentioned this the first time and was given a credit. Then despite sending a picture and expressing this in writing already...twice....was sent the exact same formula (after I get a msg about gray coverage which I never said anything about bc I dont have any gray hair so if there really is a note in my acct like I was told I dont why...not a word about changing it like I asked though) and what do you know....same results. The color specialist don’t communicate or seem to listen to your issues. Color didn't turn out ?I tried out eSalon not for grays, but just for fun. I chose Med Brown Ash Pearl for my natural dark brown hair expecting a real change, but it just made my hair a little lighter with a little red tint. Color does NOT last more than 3 weeks!!!Have trie this product 3 times, applying as directed. Color IS pretty. First time did not completely cover gray but color was adjusted and it then DID completely cover gray. However, after 3 weeks, about an inch of gray again was visible despite fact that I shampoo with color friendly product only about twice weekly. HOLY CRAP WHERE ARE THESE OTHER REVIEWS COMING FROM??I wish I could give this zero stars. I tried this because so many reviews on YT praised this hair color. So I decided to try the blue black. I gave up going to the salon after my hairdresser turned into an ass and would not dye my hair black after begging her to for MONTHS. She would lie to me and tell me that she dyed my hair black, but instead dye it dark brown. So I gave this a try against Madison Reed. Madison Reed had ZERO smell to it and looked BLACK. tbh it made me a little nervous because of how black it was. But! It turned out great! I thought oh good! I'm spending a bit more with esalon, I'm sure it's just as great. It's NOT. I followed this shit to a T and my roots were BLONDE. HOW??? Esalon was nice enough to get me a new box. Fast forward two months. I find my rhythm with Revlon natural blue black which has never failed me. It keeps my hair as black as I want it and hey!! It's $3! I have another box of esalon and I think screw it, I'll dye it with this. They say they fixed it. HAHAHAHA. what a joke. This stuff smells so BAD that I literally had a headache for two days and I thought I was going to pass out in the shower. I had the windows open, my bathroom door and shower curtain open. IT WAS AWFUL. this stuff is awful! For $3 I can use Revlon and it doesn't SMELL AT ALL! oh! It's also been a week and my roots? Just light brown and my natural hair color is dark brown. My hair has pink tints, this is not what I asked for. You guys don't listen.Very frustrated, I received an email with 4 new colors, bold black, warm brown, golden blond with highlights, and copper red. I asked for the golden blonde, I got blonde with red, which has an overcast of pink. I told the colorist, I wasn't happy with the way your red come out in my hair. Easy to use but didn't cover greys at all.If I could give 0 stars, I would. Problem #1 - Original order did not cover greys at all. My colour was changed (to a slightly darker colour) and I was given a credit so I didn't have to pay for the second shipment. All good, right? Problem #2 - Second order was good. Covered the greys. But my third order was changed to a darker colour without me asking for it or being made aware of it before it was shipped. Problem #3 - Although I initially had better grey coverage the dye was fading quickly. I went back onto the website and realized I was getting demi-permanent dye and not permanent (Permanent is better for grey coverage.) So I asked to keep the same colour but switch to permanent dye. Which leads to... Problem #4 - When I mixed the 2 bottles together the smell was so strong - stronger than the demi-permanent and stronger than other box dyes I've used. I had to keep my bathroom door and windows open while using it. This wouldn't have been so bad but when I got into the shower and mixed the dye with warm water it was overpowering. The window and bathroom door were still open but the smell was so strong I felt like I was going to pass out. I had to get out of the shower (dripping with hair dye) to get air. I still felt nauseous half an hour later. I have been dying my hair at home for more than 10 years. I have never experienced anything like this before. Apparently, this is normal. Problem #5 - They could not keep the same color in permanent, but failed to tell me this, so now my roots are nearly black. I'm done! Ugggg!I loved the first few times I colored my hair with your hair coloring products, however this last coloring was a bit frustrating. Good product but not life changing!I've been using esalon for the past year and a half and I'm realizing that the real difference between esalon and otc hair color is the color choice or the ability to tweak your color and that's it. I think I'm going to go back to my Loreal color only because I think paying $11 instead of $32 (with shipping) is better for me since I really never saw a difference. I recently made a change to my color so I will keep that order going but I think it's time to cancel. Also when I requested my color change it took 5-7 days to get a response. Not what I expectedThe packaging was nicely done. It comes with everything you need to color your hair however there were two bottle. In which one is for the top part of your hair and the is for the ends. Not sure if everyone gets two bottles or it’s because I have long hair. I didn’t like the fact that it tells you to wait for 15 minutes for the top part and then apply the ends bottle and wait another 10 minutes. Beautiful color BUT....I have colored my hair twice now with a salon color. They sent me the initial color which was a beautiful copper brown but it was a bit light for me so they sent me a complementary adjusted color which came out a beautiful darker copper which I liked very well. However, and it’s a big however, my hair is absolutely dry straw. I thought that it would calm down with a few washes and lots of conditioner but unfortunately it appears that my hair has been damaged by the chemicals. Horrible customer service and the product is no betterWhen I filled out my initial questionnaire one of the things they asked is when I would be ready to use the kit. I said in about 6 weeks. It arrived a few days later. Six weeks later I am ready to use it -just about when I said I would be. But, when I opened the kit tonight, I discovered that the directions say you need plastic clips. They were not enclosed (so much for getting "everything you need") and I would have to pay another $10 plus shipping to get them. I resent having been told I would be sent a complete kit when the very first instruction in the directions mentions an item that I wasn't sent, and no alternatives are suggested. Adding insult to injury, because I was sent my kit way before I said I would need it, I am past the 30 day limit to return it. When I wrote to customer service they responded basically by saying "tough." Didn't offer to rush me the clips, didn't give directions for how to proceed without them. I am not interested in giving business to a company like this and you shouldn't be either. UPDATE The above review dealt only with customer "service" since at the time I hadn't tried the kit. I used it last night and am very unhappy. 1. The haircolor kit is significantly messier and more difficult to use than others I have used. I told.myself that at least this would probably be superior, salon quality color. NOPE. Read on. 2. I requested a dark blond with ashy tones. Not enough colorWanted a little more color..left on as directed. Washed out with first hair wash. Do not wash my hair often. Use dry shampoo at least twice a week. Still didn't last long. Didn't even color right when sent to me. Disappointed. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? |
