Left my Hair Damaged and Did Not Have the Gray Coverage I WantedI've colored my hair with other products, so I am not a newcomer to coloring. I hate leaving bad reviews and really wanted to like this product, but it left me with no choice. I followed the directions to the letter. Once I rinsed out the color, my hair felt coarse and wiry. After drying, it was uncombable until I put in a leave-in conditioning product. Additionally, I still had grays showing immediately after, so it didn't have the coverage I wanted. I really wanted to love thisI really wanted to love this at home system. Packaging is fancy. The colorist probably do know what they’re doing. But the lab and the product itself? My hair is a mess. It never covered my very little grays and whites and some parts of my virgin hair never grasped the color. My hair does feel soft. Would I keep my subscription? Probably not. Destroyed my hairI noticed my hair stopped Growing months ago, I am a content Creator so every day of my life is documented. I went back and found when my hair was at a healthy stage when I noticed it stopped Growing, from then until about a week ago you can see my hair continue to become more damaged, more dry and at the end absolutely DESTROYED. the color specialist should ask about the health of one hair every time they mix color. did not likecolor was way to dark. I followed instructions to a tee and yet when I rinsed my hair there were strands not colored and gray right there. It was a lot of color for the way you said to put on. I was very disappointed because to took time to do color and to see gray was upsetting. Of course it was right in front. Not at all the color I wantedThis past set was not even close to the color I wanted. I had sent in a picture of a dark cherry color and a picture of my current color for the best chance to get the ideal formula. My hair is more bright orange red. Ruined my hair hasn’t covered any greyI am so disappointed with this hair colour ! I was expecting a copper colour and my hair looks a pinky dusty colour , it hasn’t covered any grey at all my roots are still white and my hair now feels like straw . Apparently missed a very important step.I skimmed the instructions but figured it was like all other colors. There was a part when rinsing that the ends color was to be applied back to hair after rinse that I didn’t realize and my color got all screwed up. The Color Is NOT at all what I wanted!I am a freckle-faced 59-year old with a pixie cut and so couldn't figure out how to do a test strand that wouldn't somehow look weird. I should have just thrown everything in the garbage. I have a ginger's coloring and was hoping for something more naturally looking ginger copper not brown. I should have really been worried when I saw that mahogany was in the mix since now with my freckles I have a maroon based color that make me look like death warmed over. Well, at least Halloween is coming! Seems like a decent product, just wish the color had been what I wanted rather than what I got. Not what I asked for!I requested a nice “ash” blonde colour since that is what my natural colour tends to lean toward. I excitedly followed the directions to the letter and ended up with the same reddish tint I can get from a cheap department store box colour. That was my whole purpose for purchasing your product to not end up with brassy clown hair! I am so disappointed and embarrassed to leave my house. Tried TwiceI recently purchased this kit. Followed the instructions and found that the color did not color my new growth. I reached out about my unsatisfactory results, sent descriptions and photos, they reformulated my color, I payed again (no free kit offered), tried again with a darker formula and leaving the color on for a longer time and still new growth has not been changed. All of this happening in less than a month. Very dissatisfied with this product. I won’t try it again. Not good for grey coverageI tried to like this. The product seems high quality and is not too smelly. I love the color they formulated for me. But after multiple tweaks, it just doesn’t do the job of covering greys. I followed the instructions perfectly, and this last time I had grey roots after ONE shampoo. It’s expensive too. DisappointedI called and spoke with a colorist before I decided on a color. I told her what I was looking for, submitting pics of my current color, told her my grays were hard to color…noted this all on my online order. I was assured my hair would not be pink or purple…it was pink and purple! I looked like My Little Pony…4 days before vacation! So upset! Drab colorI’ve done my hair myself for many years using box color and have had better results. The kit is easy, but the colors are very drab. I asked for a vibrant strawberry blonde but got a murky brown with a hint of very faint copper. This is after sending photos of my current color and following instructions perfectly. Hot roots, dull colorThis color wasn’t copper enough. I want a copper red. I ended up with hot roots and the color looked dull on me. I cannot afford to buy your color and then go to a salon, which I have done twice since beginning e salon. I have been coloring my hair successfully for over 20 years, so it is not for lack of experience. Also, the Camo Mist doesn’t work for me at all. I hope this next batch of color is beautiful. My Hair is Brown Instead of RedI just wanted to touch up the roots for my red hair color. I used the kit sent to me and instead of red hair, my hair is now brown everywhere except the roots which are clown-orange. I found the color very drying as well. Probably the worst my hair has ever lookedI did try to cancel after the first time I was supposed to get blonde and the already nice blonde I had was covered with a murky brown. I was told my colour would be adjusted to blonde for next time so I gave it another shot. After paying to fix the awful colour the first time I was short on time to go and get it done again so I risked it with my ‘revised blonde’ only to again have my nice blonde covered with an awful murky browny grey. Will need to pay to get this fixed again. Absolutely wouldn’t recommend, waste of time and money. Plus they keep sending me boxes and charging me even though I keep trying to cancel. Too Strong for hairI used this product for the first time today 10/2/2022 since I purchased in September, upon mixing developer and color I found the smell was a bit strong smelled of amonia when I put in my hair and followed processing times after shampooing and conditioning I noticed clumps of hair falling out of which I provided a picture. why is it so different from the last 2 times????this recent hair color is NOT the same as the last 2. I did not ask for adjustments, so why is it so light? It did not cover any grays, and it was not as dark as it usually is! Why does this keep happening? I was indecisive and had to talk two different colorists and I was told if there is bleach or toning involved I still have to go to a salon. Too harsh to my scalpI sooo love your hair colour and the whole concept but unfortunately I need to stop using it as every time I apply it, I have quite an intense burning and stinging sensation on my scalp for the first 2 days or so. Despite shampooing TWICE after each application! I used to ignore it, but as I just got a skin cancer diagnosis, this really scares me and I am now looking into more gentle alternatives. did not order - did not receive - did not receive creditI stopped my service in June 2021. In January 2022 I was sent, out ot the blue, a free color set due to order credits I had accumulated. One year after stopping my service, July 2022, I find my debit card was charged $33 for an order I did not place and it was mailed to an address that is no longer current. Made my hair brassy and color didn't takeThis color went on healthy soft virgin hair so the color should have took but all it did was fry my hair and make it brassy. I ordered the dark brown with purple and it went on a great plum color, but it washed out immediately and left a frizzy brassy disaster. I'm tired of giving the benefit of the doubt.Been using this hair color since June 2020. I cannot believe I stuck with it for two years... probably because it was so convenient. I get one good color out of every four. Like many other reviews, the color is inconsistent and even turns my roots lighter at some places. I have very dark hair and use a blue black permanent dye for gray coverage. Some places cover well others appear stripped of all color. Been going back and forth with them for a while. I don't change my routine, wash my hair on a Sunday and do not use any product. The apply hair day on a Thursday so it's not freshly cleaned. I'm so tired of playing this game of will it cover my roots or ruin my hair this time. Found another brand online with far better reviews. Will finally be ending this horrible hair relationship. Terrible - total scamAnd still no answer.....it is awful that I cannot change my color on my own. I need to go through some mythical "stylist". I actually didn't not like the color I was being sent so I wanted a new color but was not given a way to change it ..... system only allows a note to be sent to stylist who then ever responds. Good way to make money off customers by sending them stuff they don't want and ignoring their requests. I tried to stop the auto-ship also and cancel but now it looks like that didn't even happen. Apparently they do whatever they want.....geez. Total scam. Interesting....now I am trying to publish my review and it saying over and over again I need to "refresh". Won’t Buy AgainI had done the quiz and saw a color I really liked “darkest brown mahogany” which looked like a very dark brown with SUBTLE hints of red. My hair is quite literally purple. Color Does not lastVery disappointed with this product the color washes out in the first wash and leaves my roots exposed. The second bottle I received started foaming and spilling out of the bottle when left on the counter for less then 20 mins. Not what I expected.I was hoping to go a lot darker and even received an email from the stylist that I was going two shades darker and she recommended going darker gradually. My hair barely changed. Horrible Outcome.Based on the color chart and pictures I sent in, I ordered this color—medium Copper Blonde. I did as instructed and the color was less than appealing. It left my hair dry and dull. In my notes, to the colorist, I specifically asked for more of a strawberry medium blonde than copper plus with the photo it should have been closer to what was requested. I am totally disappointed and now have to go back to my stylist and spend the $120 to get the shine and luster my hair once had. I do not recommend it. Did not cover grayI have not had good luck with eSalon. My Colorist contacted me and wanted to see how I liked my color. I was able to say how I was not happy because the gray hairs were not covered. They sent me another formula to try and it did not cover again!!! I can go buy Clairol or L'Oreal Root Touch up for $7.00 and I know it works. Rep lied to me about the ingredientsIncredibly angry right now, esalon. Despite what I was told by a rep, the ammonia-free formula is NOT PPD-free. The email assures me that while it's made in the same facility as your products with PPD, the 0% formula is PPD-free. Based on that email, I ordered the product. I just did a patch test, because I always patch test, and I developed a giant hive where the product was applied 10 minutes into the test. I removed the solution, took an antihistamine, and then Googled the product and found out that - guess what - it *might* contain PPD. WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE ADVISE THAT YOUR PRODUCT IS PPD-FREE WHEN IT IS NOT? Do you realize that people can end up in the E/R or die? I carry an epi-pen because of my allergies.
