Didn't work for meVery sensitive to dyes, perfumes cosmetics. Thought I would give it a try, did a test spot and broke out in hives. Have had this problem with a lot of different hair dyes. HATE IT - Much, much darker and non-dimensional - can't find how to cancelI hate it. I did the application over the weekend, and I hate it, it's MUCH darker then exected. I even called right after placing the order to speak with a colorist. I specifically shared the conern over a darker shade and she insisted the colors were a good match to my pic. CUSTOMER INSTRUCTIONS AND SUPPORT FAILINGSI just received my first order and wanted to color my hair, but there are no instructions in my shipment at all. I have no idea how long to leave the color on. Then, when I went to call for support, I discovered their customer service is closed on the weekends and there is not even a live chat. Then, the website was down and I could not log onto my account for hours. I will see if I like the product itself. disapointingI ordered a new colour to have a change which I sometimes do with shop bought dye and have never had an issue with colour. However, eSalon dye did not give same satisfaction. My roots didnt change colour and the ends weren't even close to the colour requested. The dye left my hair like straw, I had to wash and condition twice with my own products after. After 3 normal washes the dye was still coming out onto my towels. I also ordered a shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo doesn't lather unless you use loads of it and also leaves hair feeling like straw. The conditioner is ok but nothing to shout about. Not what I orderedI have been using eSalon color for a while and have been relatively satisfied. However, my last order was not what I wanted. I asked for the color to be changed from strawberry blonde (always a tad darker than what I consider blonde). I asked for a caramel blonde, but what I got is brown with reddish tones. Matched color way offI am canceling my plan because the custom hair color received was no way near the actual color specified. The end result was way darker than expected and than the existing color I had. I much rather buy over the counter hair color, since the color described on the box is more actual to hair result. I am trying to cancel my plan, but this site does not make it straight forward to cancel subscription. I will be calling customer service tomorrow to see if I can cancel subscription. We're is the dark blond, it's dark redI tried esalon to cut cost. I think it's great but it's not for me. I wanted dark blond with no red. I got dark red. I have to say it disappointed me. I had high hopes but the red is too much so I'm scheduled to get it done professionally. The product also dried my hair out and I haven't had dry hair this bad in the past. The packets of shampoo and conditioner is for short hair. Not enough for longer hair. Sadly disappointedThe packaging of this system is beautiful. Such attention to detail, love how they labeled everything with my name and supply great instructions. Unfortunately, I did not have good results. There were 2 colors in my set, one for the roots and one for the ends with individual instructions on how/when to apply each. First, I now have a very clear "line" across my hair where the two colors were applied. It did not cover my existing highlights very well which is what I ordered the system to do. Second, the color is very flat, very dull. And finally, worst of all, my previously soft hair is now rough and looks and feels like straw. I now have to put finishing oil on it to make it feel smooth and keep it from kinking. I tried conditioning it. The color boosting conditioner I also bought stains your hands and ears, leaves dark "tracks" down your neck where it runs down and stains the grout in the shower. Custom Hair ColorI was not at all happy with my hair after dying it. I had NEVER dyed it in my 46 years of life. It dried out my hair really bad and made it feel like a wig texture! I was not impressed with the color either. I had to cut 5 inches off my long hair. I will not even use the 2nd bottle. Not happy!Tried this color and was not pleased. The smell of ammonia is overwhelming and it was almost impossible to get all of the color rinsed out. The shampoo with the kit did not work and it has taken two more shampoos to get it mostly out. I don't feel I got good coverage on my very stubborn gray either. Hair color formula changeI have been using the same color for a while and thought for the summer I would change my color just a bit to a lighter tone; however when I tried the new formula it didn't seem any different and my hair actually looked darker than what I wanted. NopeI didn't like anything about this service. That's not entirely true, in the end, my hair was very shiny and manageable. However, the customer service was not great, they charged my credit card and did not ship my color for almost two weeks. They did e-mail me questions, which was fine, but when you answer a question, you get an automated response to continue your answer. They did not ship my product until I complained. Once I received the product, I was very excited, but that did not last long. The ammonia in this is so strong. It burned my eyes, nose, and throat. It also burned my scalp, much more than any product I have ever used. I purposefully waited till I had not washed my hair for 3-4 days before applying, just to prevent this, however that did not help. Also, you should have a friend help you. applying one product to your roots, and a different product to your mid-length to ends, is a much more labor intensive and awkward experience than you would expect it to be. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Not for meI have been using the same hair color for years. Its root touch up #4. When I tried your product naturally I compared it to mine. eSalon just didn't give me the color I wanted, and it took much longer. I found my roots turning lighter than the rest of my hair and almost turned red. I was horrified. I am sorry, I am sure your product is great, but it is just not for me. please make sure you don't send or charge me for any more. I will not be using the one that was just sent to me. Same formula despite change requestsI have asked for a new color every way I know how. I have even uploaded photos of myself with the color I am trying to match. The box comes and says "new custom formula!" but I've saved the paper from each batch, and it seems to be the exact same formula every time. Product hardened in my hair and was difficult to wash outI had quite a scary experience where the product congealed in my hair and I had difficulty washing out. I ended up having to use regular shampoo for 5 washes....and still had some congealed film in some areas. The colour and coverage was OK. Colour too darkThis was my first order and it was too dark however the colourist has communicated with me by email and phone and they have adjusted it in order for me to place my second order. I hope it will be correct this time! I found the shampoo very sticky and was not easy to rinse out. It took 2 full hair washed to get rid of the dense sticky residue. Not what I expectedI was excited to have a custom color made for me that I didn't have to pay a fortune for or sit through I salon session to receive. I hve an anxiety disorder and the salon is not an easy place for me. My hair is high maintenance for color as I have had sporadic grays since I was 19. I have always alternated between salons and box color since I started coloring my hair at 16. The product was nicely packaged and the instructions were typical and easy to follow. I found the product itself very runny and difficult to apply. I made a huge mess in my bathroom and I consider myself skilled with hair coloring as I have done everything from bleaching ro highlighting myself in the past. The color was darker than I expected and much more red. I had been going to a salon prior to this home color session and my hair was a faded purple mess, I was looking for a violet red color with a medium brown richness. What I got was dark brown hair with a hint of red when I went out in the sun. My hair only started to show violet again when it faded which happened after three washes. I use Joico shampoo and conditioner for corlored hair. I also got the purple tinted refresher from esalon and I will say that is a great product because without it my hair would not have looked ok after those three shampoos. After I rinsed the color from my hair it was like straw. The shampoo and conditioner provided did not help me get a comb through it. Color Doesn't Last After ShampooI have tried three orders so far. The color looks about right after the second shampoo. Unfortunately, after the third shampoo, the color fades quickly. For the price, I probably will look for a less expensive color because I am very grey and color frequently. best color for me!!I just love the color when i first do it however....the color fades fast into a very very blonde color. I am assuming it is from the hairdryer. I could not get the Color wahed out if my hair after 2 hours rinsing my hairI loved your products ever since I changed my color to medium brown the color was not able to get out of my hair WHY??? Gray hair looks pink after few weeksAfter about 3 weeks the fade out of the red makes my gray look pink. Also there is not enough color to go through my whole head of hair. 1st time and 2nd experience1st time I dyed my hair it was excellent. I didn't see one gray hair for 4&1/2 weeks. 2nd time I dyed my hair it lasted MAYBE 2 weeks. It goes on so easy and spreads through my hair smoothly. But I'm not sure I'm going to give it a 3rd chance I would like it to last more than 2 weeks. Color didn't turn out rightThey sent me the "blue black" color (which is what I wanted), but it turned out just black. When I was dying my hair, I could see the blue tint in the dye....but literally after washing and drying, my hair turned out to be just a soft black with absolutely no hint of blue. I was disappointed because I followed the instructions word for word. It's still a nice color, but not entirely what I wanted.
