Did not cover the gray as I needed it to.Aside from the color being too light, which I assume eSalon can do, the color did NOT cover the gray. This is the reason why I started going to a salon years ago to get a better product that covered my stubborn gray as opposed to the L'Oreal or similar you can get at the grocery store. UnhappyThis color set made my whole head of hair feel very waxy and greasy. It took two washes to get my hair back to normal. Custom color setThe color is wonderful. My hair is very thick and curly. I did not have enough with just one bottle. There was no way to get another bottle while doing my hair. Not as good as it appearsThis color is not any better than a great many drugstore brand hair colors. The color they show in video was done in a salon. They sent a "free" one with my original order but it must have been a "one off" mix!! I need to get a brown color at the store to cover up the orangey red I was left with!! Gray coverageLittle disappointed this time as the gray coverage wasn’t good enough to cover the gray. The gray roots didn’t come out with the same color, it’s about three shades lighter than the rest of my hair. I would like the roots to blend in with the rest of the color. Lovely colour but really difficult to wash outI really like the colour I have achieved with the dye however washing out the dye is impossible as it goes very gluey and takes about 5 shampoos over 2 days to get it all out. My color was changedI explained that I like dark underneath and a light color on top, I didn't get that look at all . My color was light and it didnt have dark underneath at all. Can’t get it rightMy color has been wrong since day 1. I uploaded the color (pic from FB) and the name that I obtained from Facebook and an esalon rep on messenger. I emailed the pic and name as we’ll order 1 wrong, called and emailed again, sent pic and name, again WRONG. 3rd time uploaded and email name and pic and called over 5 times since day 1, STILL WRONG. I’ve asked for a manager 2x still waiting on the 2 calls. There have been at least 5-6 calls and 10 emails, multiple uploads of the color and name. Can get it right and it’s the customers fault. That’s how they make you feel. No apology, no expedited shipment. I used the 2nd color they sent mistake too dark. They have never said why they can’t get me what I want. It didn't cover my roots and the colors don't match...I colored my roots around the beginning of November and the color didn't totally cover my roots and the color that it did deposit, didn't match the rest of my hair....overall, I'm not thrilled with this. Disappointed by Esalon!I placed with Esalon, until now 29 orders consisting of 1 bottle of color and 1 bottle of conditioner. For these purchase, my bill was $31.99 which included free shipping. I was then satisfied with the products and with their prices. Suddenly this bill jumped to $40.49! I am disappointed. So, I am cancelling the purchase of the conditioner from this day forward. Had a few issues with this color setI’ve been using esalon for about two years now, and overall I’ve been very happy. The color always looks great, and I’ve been really loving the highlight set too. However, this last one did not go well. Firstly, the dye had a nasty fishy smell to it (a card in the box said there was a new formulation, so I’m guessing that’s why). Not a huge deal, but just kind of gross. My main problem however, is that when I washed the dye out of my roots at the end, it must have stained my highlights on the way out because they’re now almost completely covered up! I’ve touched up my roots with highlights a number of times before with no issues, so I’m guessing it might have something to do with the new color formulation as well. I recieved my box and followed the directions exactly and yet when I finished my roots where a medium bright red and none of my gray was covered. Now I have to pay more to fix this. Extremely DisappointedAfter watching Brad Mondo's video I was so excited to try this hair color, so I ordered it. I ordered dark brown golden mahogany, and it did nothing to my hair except mess it up. It made my roots turn lighter and did nothing to the rest of my hair. There is no mahogany in my hair what-so-ever, and that's what I was really excited for based on the picture. poor qualityThis is terrible hair color. It doesn't cover even after leaving it on for 45 minutes. I have had the color reformulated twice -- still terrible. The first order I received was great but after that they have all been horrible. Maybe it's a trick to get a person hooked on the plan - send one good bottle and all the rest are junk. Don't waste your money! This is a terrible product. Now after spending 45 minutes coloring my hair I have to do it again to cover roots. What a joke. I really wanted to like itI’ve seen this is on social media for a long time and was very excited to try it. It fell far short if my expectations. I customized an icy darker auburn. I chose gray coverage. It didn’t cover my grays at my roots. But, the dye did change my root color. The rest of it? NOPE. So, my roots are a nice color, except grays are still visible, and my “ends”, which include all hair but the two inches around my crown, didn’t change one bit. OverwhelmedI have used this product twice before, loved it! But this last time the ammonia smell was so bad i was having a hard time breathing, i could not keep my eyes open they were burning so bad. I started to feel my head burning and i had to have my fiance come and help me get the color rinsed out of my hair. the applicator bottle always seems to have a problemSometimes the hole at the tip is too small and you can't get anything out. Sometimes its too big and the lotion comes out too fast. Often, including this time, it leaks from under the screw cap. The lotion ran all down my forehead and made a mess. I couldn't use the bottle at all. Cotton candy pinkAfter several discussions with the stylist, I was shocked when I colored my hair. It was pink, cotton candy pink. I had to go to a dollar store to get a cheap bottle of hair color. It actually turned out the way I had asked esalon to make for me. Ruined my hairI was referred to try this out and thought 'how cool, build a hair color for your hair!' Wrong. I've colored my own hair COUNTLESS times and it's not that hard to do. But, i don't know WHAT went wrong, or what was actually IN these products but it completely ruined my hair. I had semi-thin hair, but after using this TWICE my hair was so thin you could see a whole run way of my white scalp when i'd part my hair. It was HORRIBLE and extremely notice able. I was even question by my family if i was going thru issue because my hair was so thin!! Once I realized it's THIS product - I had to cancel my subscription. I spend HUNDRED of dollars on tape-in extensions to feel better about myself, then after about 3/4 months I cut all my hair off to remove the damaged/extremely thin hair. Wrong colorIt could be a miscommunication but I gave a clear picture of the color I was wanting which was light pinkish brown. I had dark blond hair and the result came to a complete black, and don't know why this happened. She told to wait 2-3 weeks to apply another color. Great packaging...crappy product. The packaging is fantastic but when it comes to hair care it's what's inside that counts. The dye, shampoo, and conditioner all suck. After the first time using it a ton of my hair fell out. I chalked it up to diet changes at the time but the dye I'm sure didn't help. It was impossible to wash out and left my hair feeling gross and dry. I've given feedback and kept my subscription going hoping for improvement but nothing ever changed. Gorgeous presentation, BUT the smell! :(It all came in such a beautifully and personally prepared and perfect package. Absolutely blown away by the whole process; the order, the personal colourist, the precise and very carefully color mixture, the charts, direction, etc....but when I opened the bottles and started to make the mix, the smell was beyond anything I had ever encountered. The ammonia, yikes. Not good, not healthy. When I wrote the E alone Care Team Member was kind enough to quickly respond with: "The odor is caused by an ingredient in your permanent color called ammonium hydroxide, which is a solution of ammonia in water. It allows your hair follicles to totally absorb the dye, so you can fully penetrate your hair with color and get total coverage that’s long lasting. While it has a strong smell, we believe it is a safer and a much more effective choice than other color substitutes out there used by other color companies. When I color my hair, I like to apply it in a well-ventilated room with windows or doors open to ventilate the area. I find it really helps with the strong smell." This was information from the e salon help line. I could feel and taste the smell on my tongue, it was so extreme. I am so bummed out for this. Inconsistent, messyI was recommended this product my a family member and I thought it would be a great way to color my grey at home and save a trip to the salon. Although the instructions are straight forward and it comes with everything, I found it messy and ruined my shower curtain. I also found the color to be very inconsistent even though I followed instructions.
