Color wasn’t as dark as I wantedI absolutely loved the package and how the products are presented. I feel like there should be three pairs of gloves provided since there was 3 different steps but the gloves were good quality! Clown red hairI’m a natural redhead with some grays. Months ago I had my hair colored darker with some dark red highlights. I chose the copper red color for my hair, explained I wanted the highlights gone and sent a pic of my hair. Now most of my hair is clown red, with brownish roots and an orange colour where the highlights were. This is so much worse than it was before I really don’t want to go out in public. Too darkOrdeted light brown, came out almost black on strand test. Called to adjust sent me dark blonde. That was the darkest brown and dull. Nice gentle product. Still have grays...Beautifully packaged. Love the custization. Love the check ins from my stylist. The actual product didn't cover my grays all the way. Already showing grey at hairline after 4 days and no washingThis was my first try with eSalon. The kit was nice and arrived on time. The instructions and tools were good. However, when my hair dried after applying the color and washing it, the color was too light to match my natural roots. So the colorist should have looked at the photos I sent and adjusted the color to be darker to match my roots. Also, it's only 4 days since I applied the color and I haven't washed my hair, but grey is already appearing at my temple. I'm having to spray Root Magic on the temple area to cover the grey. Not a “custom” color setI ordered the product with the understanding that I could customize the color. When I asked my stylist to do this, I was told they would be sending me one of their premixed color options. As predicted, the color was not what I wanted. I know these are crazy times and perhaps you are unable to make custom formulas currently, but you should state that. Disappointed but eSalon is ListeningWhen completing my initial information in April 2020, I documented on the forms that I have very resistant extremely hard to color 100 % gray hair & a very sensitive scalp. I explained that prior to COVID 19 I had been going to the salon every 4 weeks to get my roots colored for many, many years. I documented on forms that several products that salon(s) used over the years caused my scalp to burn and or hurt. I wrote the brand of the color product that the salon used to color my hair successfully for years. I sent a picture in from my last color & another of my favorite color with highlights from 6 months ago. I called eSalon & explained all of my hair color challenges. After being assigned a colorist, I sent a few emails explaining my challenges and requested that he review the information I submitted to eSalon. My colorist & I spoke as well. We discussed my needs. He is very knowledgeable. I watched the "how to videos" he recommended. He is always willing to answer my questions. Since this was my first time coloring, it took longer. My husband assisted me. I was thrilled that my scalp did not burn. I thought everything was good until day 7 when I washed I hair with my sulfate free products in effort to preserve my color. Immediately, I noticed quite a bit of my gray coming through. Today is day 12 after coloring my roots. Today, I washed my hair for only the 2nd time since coloring my roots. Now you can't even tell that my roots were recently colored. My gray roots are completely showing all over my entire head. I contacted eSalon this afternoon to speak with my colorist. Adjustments will be made to my next color to hopefully make it last longer & cover my gray much better. I forewarned eSalon staff about my issues with color orally as well as in written form in effort to avoid these exact issues. I am disappointed in how my color turned out. Good product, just not quite what I was hoping for.I’m truly sad my hair didn’t come out the way I had hoped color wise. Color wash outI colored my roots left the product on for 30 minutes didn't want it longer in my hair . As I was rinsing out the color it was a formula of mush I can't describe it I was washing out the color like 15 minutes in the shower finally . it turned out brighter than expectedNot entirely happy with the colour after following instructions to the last letter. Nothing like the color I choseI carefully chose a color for my completely gray hair. The warm honey brown I chose made my hair RED. At least the hair it actually covered was red...there was a lot of gray left over. eSalon kindly sent me another color to cover the red, and the box said "light brown." I now have DARK brown with a MAROON glow. I look awful. Beautiful color, terrible covering grayI absolutely love the color! However after 2 days I washed my hair for the first time with the shampoo included in the kit and the color immediately came off the gray hair. I was so disappointed! I left the color on for 30 mins as the instructions stated. No graysAloha, I was happy that the color covered my grays, but i think the color overall was too dark. I expected some kind of golden brown that would lift some color from my dark hair. The shampoo smells great lots of lather, sorry not happy with the conditoner. After blow drying, my hair felt dry, no shine. Did not workI dyed my hair before doing this from a black to a dark brown. I ordered the violet/brown. In the picture, it showed purple. When mixing the solution with the developer, it was purple. Not customized, roots onlyI was sent a kit for roots only. I need color for all of my hair as it is usually medium brown and I color it copper/red. Most of the red has faded. I was sent a "custom" medium brown that is apparently not red at all. I'm not willing to try and ruin my hair. I was never able to get in touch with a stylist and finding a way to return/get your money back is confusing and time consuming. No thanks. Update: I was sent a form email response telling me to do a strand test, even when my feedback was that I do not have enough color and do not want brown in my color (the color wheel in the instructions provided shows WAY more brown than I wanted). My request for a refund has been ignored. Easy to apply but colour wasn't what I asked for....The process of applying was a breeze and the kit contains everything you need to colour your hair. Sadly I asked for a cool/neutral shade of brown with no red or golden tones. The result is extremely red/golden so it's not what I asked for. Wrong ColorI ordered a light brown ash color. What I got was a medium cinnamon brown. The results I got were nice, but not what I wanted. I have been able to achieve the ash brown I was going for more successfully with drugstore box color. The fact that I can't look at a color chart after ordering makes me think that the stylist formulate the color how they want to and not to the liking of the client. The kit was nice though. Made my hair way darker!!I had been a beautiful redhead for 20 years. This color turned my roots/hair way darker. Did not cover grayI used the eSalon hair color on my gray roots following all instructions and the suggested time needed to cover and match hair color. The temples did not color and a few areas on front top of head did not take the color. Not sure what happened since my gray roots were totally saturated with dye and I let it sit for the whole time. 3 x not a charmI wrote to e salon to not send my color. They said I would get an email when shipped which I didn't. They said it would be delayed I get that. So I told them to cancel order because last 2 orders to brown and this one lighter but still brown I did not want gold. When I called to cancel they said it was shipped.I said I did not get an email. They said to send back but I have to pay shipping. I do better on my own although I had to bleach the to get last color out.It is 7 hours later still have not been notified it shipped . If it was shipped this morning it would of been scanned. I was asked to understand why it was late. Much Lighter than expectedI requested darkest brown (my hair is nearly black) and the roots are orange-tinged. Not at all what was requested in spite of following instructions to a T. Did not cover gray even with doubling the timeI liked the color much better. It did NOT cover the gray. After checking it throughout the process I added an additional 40 minutes Which means it took over an hour to process . This does not seem normal. The hairdresser does not take near this time. Wrong color was made.I had high hopes from reading the reviews for this site. I selected my color and another color in the same color wheel but slightly less bright to have a color made in between the two. I’m naturally blonde, virgin hair and wanted strawberry blonde. My shipment came in....stoked about it. I painted the color in as per the instructions making small sections (not my first color rodeo by any means), full coverage. The color was starting to turn a red wine/merlot color on my hair. I had already started so there wasn’t any back tracking from there, I had to finish. Final color was a light brown with a slight old penny copper tint in the light. Nothing even close to what I ordered! Not even in the same color wheel! I called the next morning and stated my dilemma to a colorist and she asked for me to upload pictures of the color so that they may fix the color, or that I could buy clarifying shampoo and gradually wash the color out. I was disappointed with this response. However, I uploaded pictures on 04/21, same day I spoke to colorist, and have yet to hear anything in response on how to fix my color. Save yourself the money and go to a professional where you can verbally speak your concerns and have an immediate response. Extremely disappointed with this product and service. I had a private appointment and fixed my hair to a natural red/ginger color. I’m completely happy with those results, but now I have to have my hair gradually bleached to achieve the strawberry blonde I paid for on eSalon. I never should have purchased this product, nor have I even received an email asking if I would like a refund. DisappointedI was really excited to try an at home salon color experience. My custom color was supposed to be a light intense copper. Sadly it came out very dark and almost a soft brown auburn, which is more my natural color. I also reccomend several hair masks afterwards, as my curls feel rather damaged now, especially closer to my roots which is where they were once the healthiest. Wish it covered gray betterI told them I have resistant gray hair. It did a poor job of covering, where my hair naturally parts was especially bad. Cheaper store brands did a better job. Color was a little light. I know I'm a level 5, but don't know what brand my stylist uses. Should have gone to bootsWhat a disappointing product. Followed all 'personalised' instructions stringently. The product went everywhere - all over the bathroom. Results. GREY hairs remain and dull lifeless ends. I had some remaining dye left over so I persevered and re-did my grey on the hairline with NO results. Not satisfied with resultsHi, I followed your instructions and colored my hair today, but result did not satisfied me. 1. Roots did not change the color at all and still have my original color. 2. Ends are much darker that I was ordering and expecting. Supposed to be Light Brown (Cool Beige) but it turned out dark and red tintedMy natural hair color is medium brown. I wanted to go a little lighter with a cooler shade and chose the light brown (cool beige), but that is not the color that came out. Instead my hair color is darker, and slightly red. It did not completely cover my gray.I still have areas of my roots that are still gray. Despite having expert application of you product by a professional, there are still sections of gray that were not covered. We did this last night and I'm not happy with the results. Please send me the two necessary components to redo it in a little while. So difficult to get what I orderedOrdered a couple weeks ago, filled in all the information that was asked for including my goal with the color, which was all over color. My order was reviewed by a stylist she changed the color to something she thought would be better but when I got my order finally after waiting almost two weeks it was labeled root touch up not all over color. After calling and speaking with a representative it isn’t enough to get my hair colored so I have to wait another 3-5 days after the color is recreated to get what I ordered originally! All in all I haven’t tried the product yet and won’t be able to for about 3 weeks after my original order. I don't even know what to say...I can't really complain because my goal was to cover the gray hair from my roots, also because I mean this was my decision and in the situation we are living there was no other option. However I was not expecting my hair to be this dark, I mean I had highlights.I wanted the color to match my COLORED hair not my ROOTS. I mean of course not as light as highlights but a light color to match the whole color evenly. The color was a darker than expectedLoved how it was sent although the color was off a little to dark. Adding to my review: I have stuck with this for a while now I really love the permanent color does not fade out but when it comes to coloring my new growth greys I think I am about done, I have tried and tried but nothing no grey coverage at all around my face line, I tried no stain guard, extra time on the roots nothing works, another problem I have is never getting a email back when I send one, I had ordered the highlighter-but decided not to use it I emailed several times telling them but still got the orange color the net order. Covered gray but...My stubborn gray hair that is coming out around my face was fully covered. However, the ash medium brown had more red tones that were slightly brassy than it was ash for me. With my skin tone, the “redder” the color the more it “washes” me out. I have been using purple shampoo to help tone it down as much as possible. Update: The color correction I purchased on April 8 I finally used today April 24, after taking recommendations to use a clarifying shampoo. I have been doing this for about two weeks prior to dying. Today my hair is more brassy and more orange!!! I decreased my stars to one star for awesome gray coverage. My hair has never been red or on the orange side naturally. I just doesn’t understand why my hair doesn’t like this product. Initially I was wanting a cool ash medium brown and it never went there. I think after a week or two I might just go back to L’Oréal to get red and the orange mess out. I’m so heartbroken. I really wanted to like this product. The problem with L’Oréal it doesn’t cover my gray as well. My hair is naturally dark medium brown. Love the service color okPurchased this to go from my bright blonde back to bit darker of a color. My colorists really was amazing at explaining the process and suggesting my color fill. I just don’t feel that the color really pigmented enough.
