I love that this product is easy to do yourself at home. The whole process online is fun and intriguing. The only reason I gave four stars is because I'm very used to my hair having highlights. I wish the product would offer some dimension.
I love the color and coverage of this product however, I do have one complaint. This product leaves a glue like substance in my hair that is extremely difficult to wash out. I did not want to give up the coverage but, the "glue" is gross. I found a solution, I do not use the shampoo and condition it comes with rather I use a clarifying shampoo and follow up with intense conditioner. I wash and condition twice with my own products and it works great. So glad I didn't have to give up this product.
eSalon is most definitely the closest thing to any Salon I have ever been too. It looks better than my sister who swears by the Salons. Not me I am hooked.
I think a bigger bottle would be great. Even using it on roots only, if you have long hair I have found that you need to use a little more to touch up and refresh your hair. Otherwise it is brilliant. The scent is clean with no residue. I recommend following the instructions for best results. Awesome product...great way to keep your 2nd day blowout looking great.
This is my third batch of color from eSalon and I'm very happy with the results. It colors the grey until my roots grow out and the color is as vibrant at the start as at the finish. Advice - make sure you only do the roots if it says to as using it all over (as I did the second lot) will actually make the ends darker!

I am a 35 year old woman going gray- like, almost 60% of my head. I have been going to the salon every 4 weeks for the last several years to keep my brown up and could probably be going every 3. I have had enough and finally tried eSalon. The color was perfect and the directions were very easy to follow. I used the two step color the first time and now I can't wait to keep it up. There were a few grays in front that didn't take the color as well, but I called the 800 number and was immediately told they would send me the color (cover up) spray, complimentary, to get me through until my next color shipment. I don't really want to wait for four weeks to get these guys covered, but maybe I'll just pluck them. The color is almost an exact match to what I have been paying much more for. It took about an hour, but at least I was at home and could get other stuff done. I was hesitant to try this product, but I'm glad I did. If you're on the fence, go for it!!!

Just what I was looking for! I did feel like it took a few inquiries on my part to hear back, though, and was getting nervous close to the shipping time. But all was well in the end!
I was really worried when I ordered my first order that the color wouldn't be right. Happily I was wrong! The color is better then a salon ever could be and your hair feels fantastic afterwards!
Why oh why did I not find this YEARS AGO? ! THIS IS THE PERFECT COLOR THAT DIDNT FRY MY HAIR, AND DOESNT SEEM TO BE GETTING DULL. It's not my color before the grey started but I like the one they mixed for me. I like this product better then "drug store" versions because #1 the color seems to last longer; #2 I really like that I can shampoo the excess colorant out immediately and #3 it gives my hair 'body'. I know most hair colors cause the hair to have some body to it but overall I'm very happy I tried the eSalon product. It costs a little more but I figure "I'm worth it"(Ha, ha.) With your order you are also given 'real latex' gloves not plastic. You also are given samples of their shampoo and conditioner, a 'stain guard' and 'stain remover'. You are given clear,. easy to follow instructions for application. And it is nice how they are always making sure you are satisfied with your results. (They send e-mails asking for feed-back.) Having a 'personal representative' is always a plus with any service. I've used this product 4 or 5 times, had them adjust the color 2 times. And hey, if in the future I want to 'tweak' the color again that's my option. I'm a happy customer.
I have really appreciated your hair color product but at 75 and recently widowed I've decided to try to let my hair "go natural" to see if the thinning will stop and also to see if i'll like it. Thanks for your excellent service!
I fancied a change of colour, but nothing inspired me from the shop colours and unable to afford salon prices, I thought I would try esalon.
Really liked the process of explaining your hair type, colour and previous colourings ( it was exactly like a salon)
When my kit came, I was super impressed that my name was on the bottles (nothing is ever mine with 4 kids, but these bottles had my name on)
I'm not going to lie, I was apprehensive to try the dye, but the process was pretty easy ( better with 2 pairs of hands) and surprisingly didn't smell as bad as I expected, plus half the time taken to dye as usual.
The colour itself is lovely, I have deep brown hair with red and purple lowlights, better than expected, I absolutely love it!!
My only criticism would be that there isn't quite enough shampoo and conditioner for long hair.
My hair now feels thick and soft.
Thank you esalon, I will definitely be using you again.
I only applied the roots this time and am satisfied with results . The test will be when I apply the ends. Over all I think I have less of the red than I used to but will reserve judgement until I apply the ends
I LIKE THE QUALITY OF THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE IT COVERS GRAY FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME THAN OTHER PRODUCTS INCLUDING HAIR SALON PRODUCTS YET IT LEAVES MY HAIR SHINY AND SOFT!
Have a lot of gray and haven't colored in over 5 years. I picked the wrong color. Not only did a colorist e-mail me, but when I called Shannon walked me through everything and helped me pick the perfect color!
I used this product, it covered the grey. My room mates didn't know I had colored my hair. When I mentioned it they said "oh the grey is gone!". Not brassy at all.
I loved it! I'll order again, but not on auto order, pls. note!!

I loved the results of the color that was chosen for me. However, I don't use on a regular basis, so I want to be sure I'm NOT on auto order....I prefer to wait to order until I decide it's time to color! Thank you.
I Love Escalon When I was in my 2os my hair dresser had a color I tried I Love it. Needless to say He could never find it again.
That was about 30yrs ago.
I came across eSalon by accident.
I checked it out. The price was right..
Why not. So I did all the questions. Sent pictures in. When I got the color but that they came up with, by my answers. I was shocked. It was that color I'd been looking for. I was hooked
They have deals you can't beat. If you need to up or back your date of delivery you can.

Everywhere I go people are constantly complimenting the color of my hair or telling me how pretty my hair is. I have gray hair that I am covering up and have tried many things but have never has as many compliments as I have had with eSalon.

AWSOME stuff. Doesn't destroy my hair as a natural blond with baby fine but dry, brittle, and very sparse quantity existing pre eSalon patronage. Using this product is actually slowly improving it! I seriously thought I was going to be forced to just submit or... GO BALD lol. We eldens used to call women that had hair like me who had no choice but to give up "blue hairs". Forced to cut short after years of bleaching and balding, and forced to curl to cover up the dawm scalp.
I LOVE that I can adjust the color slowly and with confidence to get back to the natural color that was utterly destroyed by OTC products I started using a year before just to cover the doom and gloom of ole age grays and the Elvira streaks that were starting. I swear I lost at LEAST 1/2 the quantity of hair strands and I seriously couldn't afford that lol.
Also the shampoo and conditioner are the BOMB. Wish I had the $$$ to purchase those items to use daily as well. If you can? DO!!!!!!!!!!
Heck, wish I had to $$$ to invest in this company because I would =)

I really like the color mix. This is the way to go...Much cheaper than visiting a salon. Now I wish there were highlighter and toning options with complete instructions!
No more shop bought dyes ever again!!! Like how it can be tailored to suit what you want and also so easy to use with full instructions- especially if you're changing your colour
I'd always had problems with covering my gray roots with box color. It would leave those areas looking lighter and unflattering. E-salon has it covered and it looks like I had it done professionally.
I could afford to go to a salon to get my roots done, but I can't afford the time and the nuisance! Just for roots!? what a hassle. This product makes all the difference - and it's easy. Every now and then they ask for a selfie to make sure they're still on track w/color, and they send me plenty of product. I ordered some extra tools the first time around to make application a bit easier, but that was all I needed. It's not sloppy, and they give you color remover for your hair line. Great product!
As with any other product I try for the first time, I wasn't sure about the results - I don't know anyone personally who's used it. But I have to say I love how my hair turned out, & that there was more than enough product to take care of the job!!

Hair color is very natural looking. It does not fade like those for sale in pharmacy. With the directions given I found it quite easy to do myself. Ordered it delivered every five weeks but I have decided I would like to keep a backup box in case I would like to do it a week or so earlier because of a special occasion or if I need to go away before my delivery date. Otherwise, 5 weeks seems to work out very well.
First time for me and was worried as I've always been the salon for my colour. I am so pleased with the result. The colour is perfect and lasts very well. In fact I'd say the result is better than the salons. The only thing I would do next time is comb it through to the ends for the last 5 minutes instead of massaging it in whilst in the shower. This is because the fumes are overpowering and I had to open the shower door. I think I'd also wash it off in the sink.
I've read reviews that people keep receiving the product and have difficulty cancelling orders. This is not difficult to do if you open an account. You can change or cancel any order any time ( unless it's currently on its way to you)
I received an e mail after my first order to invite me to give feedback. They also replied to my feedback so I'm happy with the service too !
I love the color and the durability of course my hair grows very quickly so the whites are coming through but the color did not fade. I am ready to get my new one by the Week of thanksgiving.
I love your product. I found that after 4 washes, with a color treated shampoo, the greys started to show again. Other than that, I will still continue to buy your product. I might change the color too.
I wasn't sure about this website/vendor, as I am very particular about my hair color. However, the formula arrived and I really found the product to be great. I just need to tweak the color a bit to give this a five star!
My goal is to cover grays and match my natural color. The color is perfect. No one knows that I dye my hair and as a result, there are no roots showing when it starts to grow out. Great shine too. The only thing I find is that the gray shows through pretty quickly afterwards. Like in a week or two.
I've only just moved from semi permanent to permanent. I was a little nervous as if it went wrong what would I do? However I didn't need to worry. The instructions were clear and the results are gorgeous.
My color came out exactly as I wanted it and the gray coverage was perfect. I do not have money for salons and was using OTC hair color which was fine until the grays became too difficult to color.
Awesome color for aging and damaged hair. I usually lose a handful of hair every time I shampoo, but after using this color, it changed to about a quarter of that (or less). In case you thought it was a fluke, as my hair, and color, grew out, I started losing more hair. Colored again, much less hair loss!! GAve 4 instead of 5 stars because they wait too long to send me my next order of color.
I really liked the way it covered and how soft and shiny my hair was. the color was just too dark or I would have given 5 stars. We adjusted and ill see how the next one comes out.
This hair color had better gray coverage than my first order. I especially like the color starting about a week after application because some of the variation in my hair color starts to come out so it doesn't look so obvious that it is dyed.
Love the product and how I am becoming a pro at coloring my own hair! Great product! However, I am not liking the copper, reddish i am left with. I just want a medium brown with great gray covering . Is that possible? I know I have some stuborn gray and will have some reddish left. I do like it just see if those issues can be worked on! Thank you so much

I just tired my first shipment and had some feedback to share with the stylist. I was hoping to provide feedback THEN place my next order. I didn't realize I was signing up for an auto shipment option- little disappointed that money was drafted when I wasn't ready for it.
Regardless of the misunderstand on my part, thank you for a wonderful product. The directions were really easy to follow!

I'm a redhead naturally, but with all the gray coming in I needed something better than what I can get at the drug store. The initial color I was getting was auburn, but I wanted it slightly redder and less brown. The new formula is very good. It's a subtle shift, but more natural.
Just added a bit of copper to my colour and it is fantastic. Really looks good against my skin.
Only reservation: my hairdresser observed the mixture was just enough to cover my hair. A little bit small sized.
I was so nervous in doing this. I have had my hair colored by a salon and it was just getting too expensive. The color was almost perfect (but then this is my first), and easy to apply. It has held up great after three weeks. I think my next batch will be even better. The only thing my hairdresser said was, "you missed a little spot in the back." And that was my fault.
colour is brilliant but would like a little bit lighter. I did the roots and brushed it through the remainder of my hair to get an even colour which worked perfectly.
Pleased that there is no residue smell in my hair. Very Happy.
I love getting my color every 5 weeks and generally speaking I like the color. I am an autumn colored red head and its been a little difficult to get the red right but certainly not embarrassed with the color I have.
Easy to apply. The cream worked to prevent stains on skin. Easy to wash out. Haven't used the enhancer to perk up the color. I did find that the color (red) faded too quickly.
I was not sure about doing this at home. After first color, I liked the results. Then as I have identified some challenges, they have 'tweaked' the process in the same way my salon did. Add a minute here, etc. The cost savings are great and I am getting more proficient and my color is what I want it to be.

My hair is slowing becoming the color I want it to be. The eSalon color on my white-gray hair looks like a highlight but it looks like I have to grow out my old flat color so my hair is half and half now! I'll keep using this color until my whole head looks like this!

The color is a perfect match, golden highlights and all. Completely covered my grey.
I needed some help from my husband when doing the back of my head, and the fumes got pretty intense, but not enough to keep me from doing this again. What a savings, I'd normally pay about $80 just for color.
I've tried many products, even professional treatments, but this is much better

This is now my 4th purchase with e-salon. I've been frustrated with store-bought, "professional" boxed and finally professionally salon treatments but none have held color. In fact, with the other products, I would see grey sprouting again in about 2 weeks. I decided to try this. I loved the way they customized my color with all kinds of questions, surveys, even having me download a picture for them. It's been 2 months now and I see only 2 grey strands! Amazing. I'm supposed to get my next color delivery in another month, but not sure if I'll need it since this treatment has held so well! It's an extra added bonus for me was having my best friend help with the applications. I wanted to make sure I was doing it right for the first time. I was able to do it by myself from then on. By the way, my friend was very impressed with the color, too! The only critique I would give about the product is that I'd like to see them put in more stain guard (1 more?) and stain remover packets (4-6) as part of the kit, rather than having to purchase extra packets. This way you can deal with all quadrants of the face and neck without worrying if you got it right. This suggestion does not take away from the 5 stars. It's just a suggestion.Finally, the customer service is excellent and immediate.
I have complicated hair! Mostly grey, and I color it Red. They sent me a darker color for my roots; another color for the ends. It worked Perfectly!!! My hair grows fast, so I do often use a 'roots touch-up' in between colors (about every 6-8 weeks)
When I decided to go more natural red, the first color they sent was ok - Together we tweaked it and NOW - Perfect!!!!
The only thing was when I first tried the color, it dried out my hair. BUT, I used their leave-in conditioner; Worked REALLY well and Smells good!!
I've been using eSalon for over a year now and I LOVE Them!!! Their support team is Great and while we were working out my NEW hair color, they had me send pics, and asked me questions to get it Right!!!
PS. Get their 'Tinted Love' Color Enhancing treatment-LOVE!! And 'On the Bright Side'. Helps the color stay vibrant. If I had makeup on, I'd take a pic and show you! ;-)
I always had a problem with using blond color over my now gray/white hair. My original color is blond. Anyway, over-the-counter products were too dark for the first week, nice during second week and then got too light in the third and fourth weeks. E-Salon is the perfect color from start to finish. I am sooo satisfied.
