Should have gone to bootsWhat a disappointing product. Followed all 'personalised' instructions stringently. The product went everywhere - all over the bathroom. Results. GREY hairs remain and dull lifeless ends. I had some remaining dye left over so I persevered and re-did my grey on the hairline with NO results. Not satisfied with resultsHi, I followed your instructions and colored my hair today, but result did not satisfied me. 1. Roots did not change the color at all and still have my original color. 2. Ends are much darker that I was ordering and expecting. I was ordering based on the picture on your website and was expecting bright vibrant light orange/copper, but the final color of my hair after coloring with your formula is red copper and very dark. Supposed to be Light Brown (Cool Beige) but it turned out dark and red tintedMy natural hair color is medium brown. I wanted to go a little lighter with a cooler shade and chose the light brown (cool beige), but that is not the color that came out. Instead my hair color is darker, and slightly red. It did not completely cover my gray.I still have areas of my roots that are still gray. Despite having expert application of you product by a professional, there are still sections of gray that were not covered. We did this last night and I'm not happy with the results. Please send me the two necessary components to redo it in a little while. Not too bad, almost impressed me..Up until I washed my hair the next day (or 2) the color was perfectly matched to my own. So difficult to get what I orderedOrdered a couple weeks ago, filled in all the information that was asked for including my goal with the color, which was all over color. My order was reviewed by a stylist she changed the color to something she thought would be better but when I got my order finally after waiting almost two weeks it was labeled root touch up not all over color. After calling and speaking with a representative it isn’t enough to get my hair colored so I have to wait another 3-5 days after the color is recreated to get what I ordered originally! All in all I haven’t tried the product yet and won’t be able to for about 3 weeks after my original order. I don't even know what to say...I can't really complain because my goal was to cover the gray hair from my roots, also because I mean this was my decision and in the situation we are living there was no other option. However I was not expecting my hair to be this dark, I mean I had highlights.I wanted the color to match my COLORED hair not my ROOTS. I mean of course not as light as highlights but a light color to match the whole color evenly. The color was a darker than expectedLoved how it was sent although the color was off a little to dark. Adding to my review: I have stuck with this for a while now I really love the permanent color does not fade out but when it comes to coloring my new growth greys I think I am about done, I have tried and tried but nothing no grey coverage at all around my face line, I tried no stain guard, extra time on the roots nothing works, another problem I have is never getting a email back when I send one, I had ordered the highlighter-but decided not to use it I emailed several times telling them but still got the orange color the net order. Covered gray but...My stubborn gray hair that is coming out around my face was fully covered. However, the ash medium brown had more red tones that were slightly brassy than it was ash for me. With my skin tone, the “redder” the color the more it “washes” me out. I have been using purple shampoo to help tone it down as much as possible. Update: The color correction I purchased on April 8 I finally used today April 24, after taking recommendations to use a clarifying shampoo. I have been doing this for about two weeks prior to dying. Today my hair is more brassy and more orange!!! I decreased my stars to one star for awesome gray coverage. My hair has never been red or on the orange side naturally. I just doesn’t understand why my hair doesn’t like this product. Initially I was wanting a cool ash medium brown and it never went there. I think after a week or two I might just go back to L’Oréal to get red and the orange mess out. I’m so heartbroken. I really wanted to like this product. The problem with L’Oréal it doesn’t cover my gray as well. My hair is naturally dark medium brown. Love the service color okPurchased this to go from my bright blonde back to bit darker of a color. My colorists really was amazing at explaining the process and suggesting my color fill. I just don’t feel that the color really pigmented enough. Not any better than what I remember box color to beBased on my overview of the process, no one ever contacted me regarding my color selection. The packaging is cute but I would expect if the directions suggest I clip my hair up in 4 places the clips be provided, at least with initial order. While my first order was 50% off I do not feel this product is worth the full price. No additional service/support or direction than you would get in typical box hair color. This color did NOT cover my grays. Completely disappointed.I was very excited to try dying my hair with my 'custom color' which was dark brown with gold tones. However, when I finally took the plunge and time to dye my hair, I was sadly disappointed. Instead of the color as stated, I wound up with brownish-gold and gray roots along with my already dark brown hair. I left the product on AMPLE time and followed the instructions so there's no reason a custom color couldn't do what any over-the-counter hair dye could: COVER THE GRAY! Short lived coverageI was disappointed that my grey roots ended up lighter than the rest of my hair. The color match is spot on.I really like the color, the match is perfect. The packaging and tools are great, the shampoo/conditioner is great but I think that the gray coverage is not the best. I last colored 9 days ago and there are little grays re-emerging right along the front hair line right at my forehead. Additionally, the color seems quite drying. This isn't a huge issue as I can deep condition as needed but still an issue since I have used store bought box colors that actually improved the overall condition. InadequateThis is the second time I’ve tried Esalon in the last six years. Both times I’ve wanted all over color and both times they only sent me root touchup color. Off a Few ShadesI was embarrassed when I saw the color. It was not what I expected and I tried hard to make sure that I provided pictures and information to get the right shade or very close to it. Extremely disappointed with the colorI was so excited for my color to get here because it was “created for me”. My color choice was darkest brown mahogany copper stated my color was soft black and from the color match it SHOULD have been just as the description of my color selection . But I ended up with blackest black !! I never was that dark as a kid....it’s as if I walk into any store and purchased an inexpensive boxed color. Not quite rightFirst order, root colour one nearly there just a little too dark, colour two lengths and ends, far too light only colour showing is bright coppper didn’t blend at all with colour one there was a stripe line where the colours meet. A lot of my gray did take the color and the ones that did look blonde. I did everything just like the directions and I am not new to using box color. HesitantI was scared to try this new product at first, it took me a week to open the box, the instructions were really clear, many steps to it and I thought the process was going well until I washed it out and it stained my bathtub. My hair looked dark more black than any blue and a bit dry. It did look natural on me, regular black color. High Hopes But Little resultsMy color was a cool blonde. It was applied as described. The processing of color looked good - very similar to salon, but the end result was very disappointing. My natural hair is very gray, almost white and the eSalon color had no impact on roots at all. Even with a 20 vol developer, no change, other than my hair felt a bit dryer. Roots are still grayI had someone apply color to my hair carefully, covering all the grays. After I washed my hair by the provided shampoo and conditioner, most of the roots were still gray. I timed it and kept the color on for 40 mins. I am not sure what should I have done differently, but the outcome was not satisfactory. I thought i will apply it again, but in few hours the color foamed out of the bottle. So, I still have all my grays even after doing everything right and following the instructions.
