my history wasn't consideredWith this color I changed from dark blonde with reds to light brown. Unfortunately this time I only got one bottle of color, which was barely enough to cover all my hair. As it was a bigger change a few minutes for the ends is just not enough to have one color all-over. I am not happy with this general instruction for every color. Doesn't workI purchased hair color and was so excited to try it out. I was incredibly disappointed to use it and find my hair to be exactly the same. I thought maybe I didn't leave it in long enough, so I used the free second bottle to try again the next day, carefully following all the instructions. Guess what: MY HAIR LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME. Color to brassyI was so looking forward to getting a nice, rich, all over color using the esalon formulated hair color. But this was not the case. MehThe instructions were very clear and the application went fine, but the color is nothing like I wanted or like the picture looked. The color I got was supposed to be a violet/ash brown color, but it turned out just plain golden brown like my hair always looks. Colour not at all what I was expectingFirstly, the box arrived and I was very impressed with the presentation and what was included. The process was strange, when washing it out, I was worried as my hair felt almost like rubber but this soon washed out with the shampoo and conditioner. After drying, my hair has been left feeling so soft, however, the colour i was expecting was a dark, mahogany, full of rich red tones, however the colour I have can only be compared to an Icy brown with virtually no red tones. Love the color, but....This is the second time I have tried this product. love the color, how long it lasts and how it covers my greys. However, I can’t get the product to rinse out of my hair even after several shampoos. It feels like a rubber texture on my hands and there is a leftover film on my hair. Too DarkI like your product it covers very well we just don't have the color right yet. Still too dark, a little too much mahogany. I am 70 years old and my roots are now white, so they show immediately, and it seems too dark for my age. Needs to be a little more auburn but not mahogany. Will keep trying, thanks. Too lightI received the soft blue black color and unfortunately it was lighter than I expected. My hair looks like a dark brown tone rather than soft blue black. The shampoo and conditioner were not to my liking either as they had very little lather and my hair did not feel clean. UndecidedThe color is very nice but there wasnt enough color. My hair is shoulder length and thick which i mentioned. I usually by 2 boxes . i do have grey in the front not alot but it didnt cover it very well. I was happy though that i didnt get the hot roots. I would try it again. It's okay..The eSalon appeal is that it takes all of your hair info and needs into account, then gives you specific choices based on that info that your hair can achieve through a personalized formula. So, I assumed that it would turn out differently/accurately based on the color I chose. The color was nice, but not what I was going for. It definitely seemed like just buying a typical box of store-bought color. To me, it just doesn't seem worth the extra trouble for something I probably could've picked up at Walmart. My hair still feels healthy, which is great. And the color does look good, although it's not what I was going for. Maybe it would work better for someone else depending on what they are trying to achieve with their hair. All in all, not bad. Not what I expectedI was so looking forward to using this product . . . . to say the least it was a disaster! The whole process was messy, time consuming, stunk, and the results were not at all what I was hoping they would be. My hair was intended to be a dark golden blonde. I now have the color of dirty river water. It made a total mess of my long hair to the point where I've had to literally soak my head in conditioners and masks to help overcome the dryness. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCEI'm extremely disappointed with how this turned out!! Immediately when I received the box, I opened it only to find out that one of the bottles had leaked out into the plastic container. I still decided to move forward, which was a huge mistake. I was looking forward to this since I'm a professional and can't stand the amount of time it takes going to the salon, let alone the cost. I asked for an ashy blonde color, my roots ended up bright orange and the remainder of my hair turned a blonde / green color - my ends were green!! I ended up having to go into the salon and sitting there for 3 hours. $300 later, they were able to somewhat fix it. It was a terrible experience, I'm extremely dissatisfied. They couldn't match color & killed hairI went in to get color matched, yet they chose a color that resulted in a lot lighter band to cover the new growth. So failed to deliver for what I went in for. And I now have to pay extra for a professional to fix that next time I go to a salon. Also the formula is very strong, my hair was healthy and silky when I walked in, now it's like dry hay. second time having it come out and this was worseIt was too dark and too flat. It made me look washed out. Honestly, this is the second time the color has been shipped and I was my hair EVERY 3 days. Color was dull looking and washed out after a month... do the math, it should have lasted much longer than that especially when I was it every 3 days using a color safe shampoo and cond that is sulfate free. UnhappyUsed the soft black last night and followed instructions to the tee. I can still see a few grays and my previous hair color is still noticeable through out. Bottle for ColorWhile I love your product, I was surprised by the new packaging. I dig the new box for the gloves, but find it unnecessary. It seems that your packaging cost would increase. Also, the color bottle's opening is much wider than the developer's bottle opening. This made pouring the color into the developer more challenging with more likely of a chance to spill some thus messing with the developer to color ratio. I'm still going to be a loyal customer, but the wider mouth on the color bottle is off-putting. Not sure yet...Just notified today that my 2nd hair color shipment has been sent to the shipping carrier. Problem is that I used this product to color my hair for the very first time just 10 days ago - which means that "the jury is still out" as to how my color is holding up, whether or not I wish to make a color change, or if I even plan to continue using the product! So stickyI have dyed my hair for almost 15 years using box hair dye from the drug store and my hair has NEVER felt this way. My hair is really really sticky and stringy and so tangled i ripped out half my hair trying to brush it. Im am so unhappy with this product and am very disapointed with the results. Too darkThe color came out much darker than I was anticipating. I stated I wanted a light golden brown. Something that would blend well with my highlights. I think I’ll stick with the salonIt was sub par hair coloring. I have blond hair it usually holds color well. I wouldn’t pay the full price for the color I received but at a discount it made it a little better. I think I’ll just pay the extra and get it done at the salon. Loved the coloringI bought this hair coloring in hopes to cover my grey hair. The coloring I had been using was from L'Oréal and within a month it was already fading. I have a difficult time trying to find anything to stay on the grey more than a month. This stayed on my hair about the same length of time. Terrible ProductThe color came out very different than it was supposed to be. It was a flat ugly color. It took me forever to wash out of my hair. It felt sticky and grosse for several days. It also didn't cover my grays at all. To make matters worse I just got charged again and received it again. I don't remember signing up for them to send it automatically every couple of months. Horrible ResultsI am very unhappy with the results of my most recent color. The root color has always been too dark, but every time I tried to get it lighter, it just turned orange. I was going to try to just stick with the dark root color and do highlights every time I did my roots, but that isn't going to work either. The highlights turned the dark hair orange. It looks awful and now I'm going to have to go to the salon to get it fixed. Wanted blonde got blahI started with light brown undyed hair and chose to go to medium beige blonde. I included a photo of my hair and wrote a note to the colorist. In the note I stated that even with ash colors, my hair will go golden thinking adjustments would be made. The finished product is a bland and boring dark golden blonde. Not the color I was going forI was super excited to try out this hair dye and my hair turned out way darker than what I was expecting and hoping for. I followed the instructions and was looking for a brighter copper color and ended up with dark brown with a red undertone. After explaining to the color expert that I did not get the color I was expecting, she told me my hair is now too dark to lighten (which is why I was upset in the first place). Not what I asked forI asked for a brighter red because I liked the color I got last time, but it faded quickly to a copper - which was pretty, but I wanted something more vibrant with the red. Personal Stylist did not listen wellI originally worked with a stylist, and the first round of coloring was way too dark. There were two different colors, one for the roots and one for the ends, and they were different colors and did not blend at all. So I asked for more auburn red in the mix, so the color would be lighter, and the same color for both ends and roots. Instead, they sent me two different colors again, and the root color was still way too dark and I can't wait for it to wash out. The dark color is too stark against my skin tone, and I hate it. I feel that the stylist just did what they wanted and didn't really listen to me. Actually, if I had a box of the color I purchase over the counter, I would have used that instead, but since I already had this color from Esalon, I thought I would give it one more change. Never againWhen I placed my order, I specifically said I wanted to cover my greys, and said I did NOT want my hair to be orangie. The color was supposed to be dark blond.. nope.. Dull looking hairI was very disappointed this month with my color and then I realized that my colorist was changed without letting me know. I was very happy with Vanessa and I finally had a color I loved. Impressive at first....then, not so muchWith the first kit, The color came out nice and lasted for a good while before my persistent grays started showing. uneven resultsI was really excited when I received my color. The packaging and step by step instructions are great. You get two bottles of color: one for you roots and one for your ends. I asked for an eggplant color that was more on the purple side of the spectrum than red. Unfortunately my color came out a bit uneven. My roots came out lighter than my ends and are showing more red than purple. I'm actually ok with this color because it is giving me some multidimensional highlights. However, my ends look very flat and dark. I'm seeing very little purple. Nice Colour Awful FeelI was so excited to try this new way to dye my hair customised just for me. First issue was that it took a while to get to me, but still came earlier than expected. All in all the colour is great but thats about where it ends. Nice subtle smell, easy process, but afterwords my hair feels absolutely awful, during washing it out and after it had dried. I made sure to try my best and wash it all out but even after drying my hair is so greasy all over and made the back of my head full of tangles. Color complaintSorry, but I have a complaint about this last order #6532991, Sept 8. I have been using your products for some time now and have been very happy except for this last order. The color just was not the same this time and even hair stylist noticed a difference. The mixture was a lighter shade this time. Color not as expectedI chose the "medium pearl golden" which, on my computer screen, appeared to be a medium blonde with a cool, slightly pink tone to it. The result was more of a dark, coppery blonde, kind of an auburn. It's not bad but it's not what I was expecting. Packaging was personalized at perfect!After two weeks of using this product my scalp has not stopped itching. No signs of bumps, but whatever was in this was apparently too strong for my scalp. I will not be purchasing this again unfortunately. Not HappyVery displeased with how difficult Esalon is having matching the color I'm able to create using in store purchased coloring. It has not been convenient at all for me as their advertisement leads the public to believe.
