What is happening???First, the color bottle would not open (even when my husband used pliers on the cap) thus I had to cut it open spilling a lot of it down the sink. Next, the Developer was runny and not the rich conditioning feel of past Developers. I went ahead and applied to my hair, The color came out OK and will hopefully not fade quickly. It use to last so much longer….what happened??I have been an esalon customer for many years (>5). Recently there has been a change, Color that use to last 6-8wks now fades very quickly (in about 1-2 wks) and my grey coverage is dismal. What Happened?I guess I'm not alone when I write the color just doesn't seem to last as long as it did previously. I've read some other recent reviews indicating other customers noticed the color doesn't seem to be lasting or seem as rich and lustrous, and I agree. The last two times I've used my color kit, the color seemed to fade quite a bit and looked dull after just three weeks (previously it would last well for a full five!). I don't even wash my hair every day, so that shouldn't be a factor. I looked at my hair yesterday in the mirror, and the color seems to have faded significantly after just 2 1/2 weeks. Semi permanent colourI used the semipermanent colour for some greys but it lasted only for 3 weeks instead of usual 6 weeks. I did not find any difference with other brand hair colours. Red rootsI adjusted my color to a darker shade and told the team of my color concerns and its not right. I follow the process they have listed and always after using their color my roots are a red shade. Its not a bright red or anything but its not pulling a soft black like the color says. 1st couple of orders I was happy with reults. 6 months into subscription after I use esalon color I haft to purchase a separate color from a separate company to fix my roots to match my ends. Waste of money and my time!Well, I was really excited to try the eSalon color kit. Honestly, I was terribly disappointed! I have never had such dismal results from any hair color!! I have very short hair, almost shaved in the back. After a recent haircut the back was mostly grey, plus root growth all over. I have colored my own hair for many years, so am comfortable with the process. I followed the instructions to the letter, but it barely deposited any color on my hair. In fact, you can't even tell it was "supposedly" colored!! Color usually adds some body to my fine hair, but this added none - proof that no product was deposited on the hair. I will have to recolor it immediately with my usual brand now - not the healthiest thing for my hair. I tried spraying the roots and back with the Camo Mist, but that was not very effective, either. The roots didn't change much, and the back looked blotchy and irregular. I don't remember if you have a money back guarantee, but you should refund my money anyway. Something is differentI use to loveeeee eSalon. I tried other brands and came back to color my hair with eSalon’s hair coloring. But something has changed in the last few months. I noticed after applying the color that my roots and gray hair where more of a redish brown rather than black like the rest of my hair. I thought I had made a mistake coloring my roots so I tried it again they next month and again the color was way off. Mind you I have been using eSalon continuously for over a year and hadn’t had a problem before. I had my color adjusted twice and saw minor improvements but it still not covering my grays and my roots are still lighter than my ends. I have an unopened box of the “lighter shade” that I don’t know what to do with it. I definitely won’t be coloring my hair with that. The money I’m spending in this trial and error process doesn’t justify the end result. Love the colorLove the color mix for my hair but seems recently product has changed because the last few color set have lasted just a couple of washes and it's not covering my grays. I have dry curly hair so I don't wash my hair often and when I do I use color shampoo and conditioner so it's a problem with your product, I'm reading other reviews and seeing the same complaint. Nice Kit Awful FormulaThe kit came with everything you need to successfully color your hair at home. The color was worse than a box from Walmart. It immediately started turning blue/black even though my color is medium brown. It was wayyy darker than I had wanted. The good news is that it washes out quickly, so after being too dark for a few days, it’s already fading back to a more desirable color. I am allergic to eSalon hair colorI really wanted to love this custom do it at home hair color. The shade (a light cool brown) that was made especially for me was perfect and I dislike taking the time and expense of going to a salon. However, a patch test showed no skin irritation, so I applied the color as directed. When I rinsed off the color, an excessive amount of hair was lost. After drying, my scalp itched for days. Also, the product didn’t cover my grays completely and made my hair texture feel brittle, I thought at first that this was a temporary adjustment to the new hair color, so when it was time to color, I used the color again with the same results. I called an eSalon color specialist and the next formula was changed, and did help with gray coverage, but I kept loosing hair! I then cancelled my order and received an emailed response from their color specialist that said it is normal to loose 200 hairs a day. Roots white and brownI colored my hair roots with half of each product, follow all the procedures washed it and my hair roots were still white and brown, I had to repeat the same procedure after 3 days. DisappointedThe color is as expected, not as shiny as would have liked but biggest disappointment is that the grays were not covered as needed. As I dry my hair, using a circular brush I can still see the gray line when under the light and hair is wrapped about brush. I have to use the color spray to fully cover. IF it is that way right after doing my hair I am not going to be surprised that it will be even more obvious after a few shampoos. I left it on an extra 10 minutes being careful not to pull to the ends as they are too dark as is. I know how to color my hair, been doing it for a long time Just disappointed, can't seem to get anything that will cover gray completely. AwfulI joined this scheme towards the beginning of the pandemic attracted by the ease of being able to skip an order. As the company has become more greedy, they have made it nigh on impossible to Skip an Order. You just get an unwanted order our of the blue. I thought I had cancelled my account last time but the hair colour keeps coming....I now have 3 x unwanted boxes. Color wasn’t rightI feel like in my explication of what I wanted I was very specific and the color I received just wasn’t what I asked for. I wanted it to be more mahogany reddish and when I used the color you could barely tell I had even dyed my hair. I really want to like itI really want to like this product and service, but I’m yet to be satisfied. I’ve used the hair dye 3xs so far. Each time I’ve asked for a brown that doesn’t have any red to it, as my hair captures red tint easily. Both color options have had red and have not covered the grey. Also, when my colorist emails me, I truly don’t know if it’s an automated response, or if I truly have a colorist. Color is WAAAAAAYYY offOrdered this "custom blend" to refresh my medium to light copper blonde hair. Im not sure if it was just someone mixing it and making an error, because I have had good results with the same order before, but this time it ended up a BRIGHT Mahogany Red! It was ridiculous. Way too dark of colorI went to dye my hair 12/14/21 and I had requested for more of a white blonde hair color in the comments as well as picked the lightest color they allowed on the survey. However, what I was sent was a darker blonde. For coloring hair light blonde typically a 19 or 20 vol. is used and I was sent a 15 and the color itself looked way darker than what myself or a stylist would normally use. Thankfully, I realized it was way too dark when I was less than a 1/4 way through highlighting my hair (before too much damage was done). I had even wrote out that I specifically wanted white blonde, so I’m a little confused on why I was sent something much darker. I am disappointed and lost some trust. 50 colours bought but now disappointedI was so glad I took a look at the reviews on line. Have to say that having been a customer since 2014, I am so disappointed in my last hair colour. What have you done to your product? Definitely not lasting and not covering all the grey. I thought it was me, my age, my hair changing etc but I can see that others are having the same issue. New Formula not as good as old formula!I have enjoyed using your color products for the past few years. The color was equal, if not better than the one my hairstylists use. However, I noticed with my last two orders, the formula did not last as long as it had with the previous formulas. I could see the greys, within 2-3 weeks! It is a disappointment, especially since the price has increased, since I first started using your products. I skipped my upcoming order for now. I had my stylist color my hair, which for the price was about the same, as if I had used E-Salon hair color. Lot of hairlossI had a huge expectation from this brand. I have been following them from quite sometime. Finally bought the medium brown violet mahogany. Color is really rich. Love the quantity they provided compared to the box dye but..I had hairfall which I could possibly have for a month in a day.:( The color turned out more burgundy. Problem w whole dealColor seemed different after mixing. After 35 minutes, and went to complete, the bottle was quite hot (that did not happen before). Ends and rootsEvery other month you should receive a free ends refresher. As I need it every month I am being charged every month instead of receiving a free one every other. The colour fades to quickly to not require and ends application. My box this month said my ends refresher was free however i was charged. Not happyThe only thing that was nice, was the color was prepped. I didn't get complements about the shine. From my experience it's needing to order more products to keep the grey away when I want to be able to use product and it keeps grey away longer. I don't want to keep apply product especially after a few weeks. The other half of the problem is I had an order that I was able to get a full refund back on that I returned. Another order was sent when I tried to cancel and I couldn't get my full refund when I did previously try to cancel before shipped. I don't like the automatic sent, technically due to financial budgeting. The talk about eSalon which is why I tried it, was because it keeps greys away longer. Always the wrong colorI have been trying this hair color for a year now and each time it never turns out how it should. I have had it adjusted to darkest brown mahogany and it still turns out a light/medium brown with a hint of light red and my roots turn out bright orange red. Gray roots not covered AT ALLContacted my stylist two days after coloring with pictures of my gray roots. They "reformulated" my color for the next shipment...and here I am with grays until that shipment in 6 weeks. Useless. I had to spend Thanksgiving with my gray roots for all the family pictures. And I'll get my next shipment right after Christmas, fabulous. If this was an actual salon I wouldn't have left with my hair looking like it does, they would have fixed it. Ruined my hairCarefully sent pics, concerns and specifics of what I wanted to achieve. I should have known when they did t even look at my pic that I sent (and asked me to send one) that it was not the personalized experience they claim. Followed instructions to the letter and what I got was hideous. Then, attempted to address my predicament they have caused and no response. Well into 2 weeks now and all I get is bombarded in the inbox to buy more. Not one reply to the numerous pleas I made. Don’t even offer your money back and overpriced. BUYER BEWARE - TOOK 2 MONTHS TO ARRIVE TO AUSTRALIA FROM THE USIf you are in in Australia and you are prepared to wait for possibly 2 months like I did, I recommend you just save your money and go to a hairdresser or buy a box kit from the pharmacy. I searched for 'online hair colour companies in Australia' and found this company. The search results and the website says it's Australian but its's from the USA. Realised this after purchasing. Biggest SCAM ever. I am yet to try the products as they currently sit in a postage depot in Melbourne after landing in Sydney 4 weeks ago. Change your carrier eSalon unless you want more unhappy Australian customers!!! Especially if you want people to have a subscription with a precise time schedule. Covid slow shipping delays cant be the excuse you hide behind...Nike sent me 3 separate orders from Eastern Europe with still time to spare in the time it's taken for my parcel to arrive from eSalon. Formula changed, color doesn’t last, darkerI’m very disappointed & feel like the 2 negative reviews I just read say it all. Why pay for a color that no longer lasts & this last batch was a different, darker grayish shade than my previous muted subtle medium light blonde with a bit of gold. I see colorists worked with the two whose reviews are shown; I would assume I would get a one time free color sample bottle to be sure you corrected it to the longer lasting medium color range. I actually had to sprinkle with peroxide after I applied the color to not have a muddy mid gray with tinge of blonde that showed so dark on application. It was much lighter on roots area but the rest was closer to original so if you want my business & bit a cancellation; please have my original colorist contact me. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Not liking my rootsThe overall color was pretty decent. It is a nice red color, however my roots are not a good color. Using the root color did not cover the grays and came out almost pink and there is definitely a difference between my roots and the rest of my hair. not at all what i asked forI have been hesitating to use my color because it took esalon FOREVER to get my color right, i took part blame for not asking for exactly what i wanted at first but after 5 or 6 tries they finally nailed it, i was so happy. then the next time i tried to order they tell me i have to "update my profile" and start all over because they changed their formulas, well. here we are right back at square ONE with color i HATE. Love esalon but something changedI'm super sad in the color last few times. Something is definitely different with formula. It's not nearly as rich in color and it's washing out. I've been doing medium brown with copper and gold but the color is dull brown. I've loved esalon for years !! I hope you guys can improve or correct whatever changed. Not what I wantedEach time I have colored my hair the color is always way darker then I requested, even with the the help of talking to the colorist over the phone. Colour setThought I would give this another go, I used esalon before and my colour was always fine. Then last year I got my colour which left my roots lighter than they already were, as alot of grey coverage. So I've been growing my hair out to then order the semi permanent dye to put it on and its now not covered my grey at all. So disappointed I contacted them but no help at all this time, basically i closed my account down. Far to expensive for then to be told after buying and using that there is no guarantee of full grey coverage with the semi ( I was not told this at time of order ) my hair is basically the same only my roots are lighter and my ends with the root ends refresher is darker yet again.
