does not lastI am disappointed in the product because it simply does not last. I think the color is great the first week and by the third week I have a whole new different color which is much lighter than the original and brassy. I am canceling my future orders because it's not a good value for me and I shouldn't have to color my hair every 2-3 weeks to have a great color. Hair like strawI requested an ash blond color for my thick, shoulder length hair. Unfortunately, the end result was dry, dull hair with way too much gold. The shampoo provided dried my hair terribly and the tiny amount of conditioner that was in the kit didn't even cover one eight of my hair. My hair feels and looks like dried out straw. Instead of providing silly extras like stain-remover and extra gloves, why doesn't esalon simply provide a sufficient amount of conditioner like L'Oreal does? This is not a light brownSomewhere in between chestnut and a darker brown. Definitely not light. My hair was blonde before this dye. It is now incredibly dark with red-orange tones thanks to esalon’s “recommendations.” This has ruined any chance I had of getting a light brown. Super disappointed. Didn’t send what I ordered!I’m a redhead or at least I was until I went gray. I ordered a color that I thought would give me back my red hair. eSalon decided, sight unseen, that I needed a color that was different from the one I ordered. I used that color today and I hate it! It really didn’t cover the gray. It’s not really red and my roots are pink. Did I say I hate it bc I really really hate it! Now I don’t know what to do. Great idea for personalised colour.It is a lovely idea as you can get hair colour adjusted for you and delivered to your door. Nice and easy way to use. However the colour is not holding on my hair for long and it washes away. Also shampoo added contains SLS. Find a boxdye colourI paid for a custom shade that, once done and dyed, was much darker than what I'd selected, looked like a popular brand I could've bought for less than half the cost but didn't because I wanted a lighter, coppery gold shade, not a dark tangerine ginger, But even on trying to own it and be happy with the wrong shade for a while, it started fading on the second wash and looked terrible anyway. Run if you are Blond! My hair is orange again!So I was really hoping last time was a fluke but now I received my second order and I followed the instructions to a t and I am really orange this time. No one responded to my emails so I am trying some other company products to see if I can somehow tone down the orange though my hair will never be the blond I asked for. (I am naturally blond with some grays) I am never doing this again and its back to the professional who actually knows how to mix color. Did not like colourI wanted auburn ginger hair, but i ended up with quite a vibrant red. Also, I have very long hair, and there was not enough dye to cover my whole head so I had a large portion of hair undyed. My fear is I will need to keep purchasing and adjusting my colour to get to the actual colour I want, which can be very time consuming and costly in the long run. I wonder if going to an actual salon may actually be the best option when colouring or changing the colour of your hair. Not what I asked for so much darkerThe color is so dark!!!! It’s almost black. My hair was a golden medium brown. My natural hair growing in was lighter than current color. I asked for my color to be lightened. I was told couldn’t be done. What I didn’t expect was for color to be soooo dark compared ro my dyed color; and worst it’s darker than my natural brown hair. To long of a shipping process and wrong color.I waited so long for this to get here I think it took 5 or 6 weeks to here and by the it got here I had already colored my hair. I had to wait a month but I got sick so it was delayed again. So I finally tried it and I was so disappointed.There was no no light copper that I wanted. I sent a photo of my hair clearly showing the color that I wanted and picked it out of you color chart and even told you to make a little redder. I texted you he informed you what had happen and all you said was I'll send you a free shipment of it. I stated that I didn't want it because it was the wrong color only for them to come back with the same answer. I asked to talk to a supervisor and they said someone would be calling me soon. Color fades fast over graysI gave this a fare try with 4 uses, and found that it fades faster than the store box color I use. It's not worth the money to me. Also, I cancel my subscription over the phone with CS the day I received the next months box and got a refund. Then I end up getting another box this last month that I didnt want! Turns out they didn't cancel my subscription like I requested! So, I went online into my account and cancel it this time myself! Initially perfect colourI’ve slightly added more red to my copper which I love however when washed off the colour was a slightly different colour to my roots. Today I have washed it for the first time an my roots are now noticeably orange in comparison the the red hair. If I could give 0 I wouldI was excited to try this and save money doing my own hair at home but I never even got my first shipment. When I tracked it, it kept saying it was on its way. I contacted customer service to see if I could get another one shipped since I had an event coming up soon and needed my hair done and it was obviously lost in the mail. They responded by telling me to wait another week since I was not going to get it on time regardless.. I had ready waited almost a month (my next order was being ready to be shipped). A good reputable company would’ve shipped it to me overnight since it had breads been almost a month since I ordered my product and I had been patient about it. You don’t tell your customer you’re out of luck you’ll have to wait some more because we don’t want to spend the extra money over nighting it. Shame on you. Instead of saving money, I ended up spending more because I had to go to a salon at the last minute and I’m sure everyone knows how hard it is to get into a good salon at the last minute. I still haven’t gotten my product or refund since they still have the hope that my product will arrive sometime in the future. SMH and Rolling my eyes. Seriously! Wake up! Shipping is SLOW!!I can’t really review the actual product yet because after 2 weeks it has not been delivered. I can say that I am very disappointed in the shipping. I decided it must be lost and was just going to have them re-send it. Apparently it can take 12 business days from the day shipped to be delivered. According to the tracking the package has not moved in the last 5 days. I can’t imagine a package in transit that long would be delivered un damaged. Not covering my graysUsually, I don’t give low reviews, but after following the directions very very carefully and even keeping the hair dye in my hair for a bit longer for those stubborn grays, I came out of the shower and noticed that my grays are still very visible. This is the second, actually maybe third, time I’ve been using the dye and the last time I thought maybe I’m not doing something correctly. Stubborn rootsAlthough the change a a bit darker color did help a bit, the top of my head and sides still don't want to take as well where my roots are whiter. My customer color (sad face 😦)Well I asked for light ash Blonde with a hint of purple tint to it. In fact I even sent a note way before my hair color was shipped just to stress the purple tint. I got medium ash blonde with not even a hint of purple. I was very disappointed and sent two messages back to my colorist and I received no reply. Product is Fine. Service Stinks. Overcharged.I like eSalon and the color was good. My hair felt soft and wasn't dried out or frizzy after application. However, all the good things are overshadowed by poor customer service. I have attempted MANY times to have the tax rate corrected on my account, but they refuse to make the change even though I've provided detailed proof from the state and county tax authorities where I live. They are overcharging me 5% on every order. Not a lot, but it adds up over time. The money is less of an issue that the fact that they argue back and forth thru messages and absolutely refuse to correct the problem. Doesn't dye my hair at all.I ordered my first custom color set, and it didn't dye my hair at all. The color had too much brown in it and I wanted more purple in it. I contacted customer service and they gave me my second color set for free. I told them to make the dye stronger and add more purple to it. They didn't listen to me, and the hair dye came with even more brown and less purple pigment. This time, it slightly made my hair darker brown, but the dye didn't last long in my hair. There was not enough application to cover my hairMy hair is not that long but there was not enough color to cover ends. As a result it covered only 75% of my hair. Fifth Element OrangeI am mostly disappointed in myself for trusting something I saw on the internet. I trusted that I found somewhere to get professional quality dye but that’s not at all what I received. I wanted to take my hair from blonde to a cute natural copper red? Easy right? Nope I look like a pumpkin. Even with giving pictures of my current hair color and hair goals. I’m beyond disappointed and upset. A warm chocolate mousse volcano...I can't review the final colour, because I couldn't finish. After waiting 15 minutes for the root application, I went back to finish, and had an eruption on my bathroom counter. The bottle was warm, the smell of ammonia was overwhelming, and the colour had completely changed consistency and looked like chocolate mousse. Somehow the dark brown with a neutralizer to get rid of the red turned my roots LIGHTER, and of course, I still have the red I was trying to get rid of, and was assured by my colourist would be gone for good. My hair is naturally a light / medium brown. ***Edit*** A replacement has been sent, a demi-permanent, rather than permanent. For all their "shock and awe" that this happened, it's happened to others. DisappointedI had my first purchased last October ‘24 and it didn’t work to my hair and i still have some color left. I was shocked when i checked in my email i had ordered notification last December 8, 2024. I directly contacted customer service in the same day just a couple of minutes difference to report the issue. Jackelyn who reply me after a day and said the item is already ship (how come??) just received the notification and ship already!!! She adviced me to wait my ordered to arrived and return the item in order to get a refund and i will pay the shipping. I am charged 2x of shipping.
