Great color - needs more than 30 minutesMy first trial turned out ok. The color was an ok match but a bit too red/warm. Also, it is critical if you are very gray to keep color on more like 45 mins instead of 30. They sent me a second color free bc mine was red and did not penetrate enough. Covered greys but wrong colorI ordered a medium ash brown and I ended up with the darkest brown nearly black. Yes it covered my greys but it was far from the expected color. You take the good with the bad pointsI have used the color for a while and it is fine. It makes my hair incredibly limp for the first day and a LOT falls out. I have tried to ask questions but about these issues but there is no way to do that. I tried the highlight kit and it torched my hair (not in a good way) . It became terribly brittle and the ends split badly. I would never use that again but I have continued to use the color because it is a good price and I have gotten good at it. The website is the worst though. Two big things that any website should have is 1. search and 2. contact us. This has neither. Not like the previous shadeThis color was okay, not as rich as the last one sent. It doesn't last as long either. For the money I spend, I'd expect the color to not fade so quickly and my gray also starts showing at the roots 2 weeks later. Anybody Home?Very disappointed in product considering price point. Sent a good photo of light blonde lavender color. Tried to match up color as best as possible. Product turned my hair burgundy, only washed twice a week and color last was very poor, leaving me with a dark brassy blonde. Sent a letter to get help along with photos to no response but happy to send me that color again for $28, would rather invest in a salon. Customer service is a high priority to me, if you can’t do that what’s the point of investing in your product. Not copper blonde- green toned light brownI had medium blonde hair with a subtle blonde baylage, and natural strawberry undertones. I wanted a dark blonde copper for fall. The color did not come out as expected, it is more of a beige light brown with green undertones (and almost no copper.) the color application was pretty even, but was also very damaging- I took 10 minutes to apply and left it on the recommended 15 minutes. I’m surprised at the unusual amount of damage for only a demi permanent. only root coloring at a lower pricethe product covers gray hair well and the time needed is good, however it is expensive and there is too much product for one coloring. I would like about half as much at half the cost, I don't need the paper hangup each time, but I do like the color remover and the vaseline like material to prevent stains on skin. do you have anything like this. SorryThe color came quickly but it wasn't quite right for me, though this is not esalon's fault. In general, I felt the product was a little difficult to use, what with first applying to the roots area, then the rest of the hair. The worst part was pouring the remaining product mixed with water over my head in the shower. I promptly got it in my eyes and had to rinse them thoroughly--my fault. Gummy and sticky hairI'm honestly mad at myself how long I used this for. The first time in 5 years I was unhappy with my color they ignored my complaint and I did not get a refund or replacement. I picked up some Garnier to attempt to fix my roots and was amazed my scalp did not sting and my hair didn't require rinsing for 20 minutes...and then over and over to get the gumminess out. Sometimes I had to use dish soap. This stuff is all I had used so I didn't know how awful it really was. RESIDUEAlthough the colour was a great match, I have washed my hair twice and have been left with dark residue all over my scalp. I am not very happy about this. I am not sure on the ingreedients of the colour mix, but it is very strong and smells like ammonia!! My normal hair colour does not contain this so I will continue to use that instead. Still not quite rightI still can’t decide if the copper tones I continue to get with this color are a result of how I am applying it, or the coloring that I received. Or maybe it’s just my hair. Whatever the case, I still can’t seem to get the results I’m looking for, which is no copper tones and more Ash tones. I really like the convenience of esalon, but I’m thinking of going back to drugstore box color or spending a bunch of money at a salon to get the color I want. Very hard to wash out of my hairI love my colour and have been a customer for many years, but I have to agree, I have to wash my hair several times to get the colour out, after the first wash it's all stuck together, perfectly described by another lady like "glue". It takes a few washes over the next week to get it back to normal. I persevere as I love the colour but do hope you can look at this or the instructions for taking off the colour. Then until all color product was 6 weeks old it has finally quit matting when I wash my hair. And color did NOT last two weeks on my hair. Grey was all over even in long strands. Awful smellThis is the third time I ordered and the last. The smell was awful stung my eyes, scalp was burning and very unpleasant. Contacted them to get a refund and no response. Just a sorry it happened and next time to be in a well ventilated area. No really, this isn’t my first rodeo esalon I know that. Not enough productThey sent me a small bottle which is not enough for my long hair. They asked how long and how thick my hair was before I ordered and yet they still sent a tiny bottle. The color didn't work outWhile I liked the kit in general, the color didn't turn as I hoped. The instructions were easy to follow and the box was packaged nicely. I appreciate that you sent 2 sets of gloves and they were good quality. The color came out more copper than I would have liked but overall it is even through out and it did cover my gray. One Star only!Your E-Salon hair color did not cover my gray roots. Your, colorist made an attempt to make some changes with the color and length of time for color to stay on the roots. Unimpressed with color resultColor result is a very long way from what I wanted. Far too much gold! I dislike the result intensely and am grateful I opted for demi over permanent color for this order. I will still be stuck with this for far too long. I’ve had better color results from a store bought rinse. This is a messy process, and with 2 different color mixes for roots and ends, a far more time consuming and complex procedure than I expected. The color did however did turn relatively even, so perhaps the extra step is worthwhile, provided of course, the color is what you’re aiming for. The shampoo and conditioner are nothing special. Worst Experience EverSo there needs to be a prominent warning in your products regarding what happens when you add water to the remain colour and then apply it on your hair in the shower. The fumes gagged me and I could NOT stand the burning in my eyes, nose and throat. This should NEVER be done in an enclosed space. I could barely get out of the shower dripping wet w hair color dripping off me - to take a breath of air that wasn’t fumes. Why would you not put a notice on your products about the fumes?? Aside from that - nothing happened. My color did not change around the roots or scalp or ends. It is exactly the same. I won’t even mention how dried out my hair is. Ive never experienced this before. You have a great idea but fail on the execution. My brown is jet black.I had high hopes. I went into the esalon studio for my first time, I had a really bad color job done a couple months ago where someone tried to give me a lighter brown, like a chestnut but it came out rusty and with each attempt to fix it, brassy and patchy. It was so damaged I left it for a while to grow out despite the horrible warmth and brass tones. About two inches grew out and my greys started to come out and I decided i wanted to go back to my natural dark brown. Had a consultation and thought i was getting dark brown but my hair turned out pretty much black. Its so dark and darker than my natural dark brown. It looks like i used a box color from the pharmacy... its that kind of black. Im hoping it will wash out a bit after a couple washes?? I did also notice once outside in the sunlight there is deep burgundy tinge in the black which is a color i cant stand. A miss for meI used the light set along with a fall adjustment color this month and it was a miss for me. I have used your salon for quite a while and I expected much more than I received. Also... the pricing for the light set is considerably higher than it should be. The misses: Not enough color to do a full head of hair for a seasonal color adjustment. The light set needs to provide more detailed instructions and a better way to separate the pieces of hair that the light set was intended to be applied. Balayage for home colorists is not easy..... Great color. Unusaly hard to wash outThe color I went with is amazing. I did leave it on about 10 min longer than the instructions stated but I had a hard time getting it to wash out. I scrubbed and scrubbed with both the shampoo and conditioner but I could only get it to really come out with a towel. It had turned into a Vaseline texture and just sat on my hair. I had to use my nails to scrap it off my roots and finally a towel. I'm not even sure if it fully washed out. Extremity DISAPPOINTED!The picture when I clicked on the color of my choice is no where near what I recieved!! All you did was darken my hair a shade. I asked for a red. It's just a darker brown, now my natural red highlights are died brown I absolutley hate it. I emailed you and recieved one back saying to send a message above so I replied along with a picture of my hair the color I want, which is what my hairdresser achieved in one session along with my natural hair pic and what I got from your dye so you can see where you went wrong. I haven't heard back. I will close this membership of you don't fix your mistake. DissatisfiedI used the first order yesterday, 10/20/18, and was dissatisfied with the product and the whole process. The ammonia in the hair color was so overwhelming that it made my eyes tear; the process was too many steps to do at home by myself. The rinse part of the process made such a mess in the shower that it took another 1/2 hour to clean. did not try color, they adjusted what I orderedI ordered something to take my light brown, reddish hair darker. They adjusted it, and I agreed, but there was no way of seeing what they adjusted it to, so I trusted them. It arrived and it is plain dark brown, matte. I cannot change my light brown, reddish hair to almost black overnight. I also do not want something that looks so dead, I chose something with some shine to it. My custom color was not even close to my hair color.I sent a picture of my color when I first sent in a order to try and the custom color isn't even close. I have been traveling between family member in Texas and Arizona and this is the first time I had a change to try your custom color. I was extremely disappointed in the results. Bad; the color, after 3 washings is not like the pic. not happyI sent a picture. Sort of strawberry blonde. gold tones I guess. Not what I got at all. It looks brown with a hint of maybe some red casts. Only in the sun. But not in normal lighting. I am not happy with this at all and would like this redone. Please. I don't want to buy a commercial product but this is not me. The former formula just had to be lighter with the copper/red. Please email me! Judy E. I don't want red hair!After carefully following the instructions in my first kit, I was anticipating a gorgeous dark blonde color on my hair. Dark blonde is my natural color. Instead, after drying my hair, I saw that it was a dark strawberry blonde! I was so disappointed. The results were no better than that from a drugstore kit, even though the esalon kit was considerably more expensive. Not evenly dyed.It was my first time using eSalon and I was pretty excited to try a hair dye that I didn't buy at a drugstore. After using the hair dye it did leave my hair super shiny and silky which I appreciated. But I was left feeling disappointed because after using the 2 bottles of dye on my long hair the color just didn't turn out as vibrant as I expected.
