Custom Color SetOn a positive note this comes packaged so wonderful! Very good directions that are easy to follow. The color is NOT great. This was my first purchase from this company. I specifically explained what my goal was for my hair. I wanted brown then add chunky highlights. I explained I get my hair done at salon and it comes out great for about a year then something happens and I end up with carrot red brassy looking color. I hate red/brassiness for hair color. Well, here I go again. The color still came out very brassy. I sent a note and picture and have not heard anything back. Sent a secondI liked the dye from esalon, however I did not lije the use of my debit card for another order sent 3 weeks later. I haven't yet received a reply. WrongI’m disappointed. I really had high hope. My roots didn’t turn out right. Film covering my hairIt took about 30-45 minutes to wash this out of my hair. After I was done, my hair felt crunchy towards the ends and very greasy (like a film) all over the rest of my head. I have washed my hair 4 times in the last 24 hours to make my hair feel like normal hair. I finally fixed it with DAWN DISHSOAP! Every other shampoo did nothing. After all of this, my hair is the exact same color! I followed directions and followed the How to videos. What the WAX ??After reviewing ALL literature enclosed in my custom color kit, I followed the instructions and began coloring my hair (which I have done in the past with store brands) and much to my surprise during the last step and rinse out my hair was coated in a HEAVY waxy substance. It was as if someone had melted a candle and poured it into my hair. It was embedded in my nails and in a comb I used to try to get it out. It would not rinse out even with HOT water for over 10 minutes, and took 3 shampoo ings to remove. Very surprised by this. Sadly the outcome of my hair color was dull and heavy. I would advise e-salon to mention this in its literature if this is a normal process in there coloring product. hopefully 3rd time is a charmSo excited about my personalized color kit. The kit had everything they show. But the color was not what i was hoping for. Neither was the shine. I was looking for that deep "pop" color of copper. But i got more of an orange than even a red....i also have a problem keeping my gray covered and i really did not see a difference in how long my gray stayed covered with esalon compared to a box color. seem to work about the same. Forgot about adjusting the color of my next order..until i rec'd email it was on its way . So, i sent in request of change. keeping my fingers crossed that my next order (3rd times a charm) will make me as happy as these other customers on these reviews. Not the best shampooI was not impressed with the shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo provided did not lather and it left a thick, sticky residue. My hair was matted and was impossible to brush the tangles out. I had to re-wash and condition my hair with my regular hair product. Pretty Color but disappointedI love how the color turned out, the color just did not last. It tured a brassy color 2 1/2 weeks in with almost a red undertone. I use a color protective shampoo and conditioner that is sulfate and paraben free so that is not the cause of the fading. We are always happy to adjust based on your feedback if we are able to, however since color chemically cannot lift or lighten other hair color, we recommend visiting a traditional salon if your desired result is still to lighten your existing base. Pretty, but washes out quickly for meThe initial color is good, but my hair will not hold the red. I've tried for a couple months and after the first couple days, if I want any of the red hues, I have to use a tint rinse. This could be my hair, but I've had red before and never had this bad of washout, but it could also be the fact that my job requires me to have my hair slicked back and pulled tight, so product (and washing) is a daily chore. Incredibly Drying but good coverageI have used eSalon color for several years. This time I knew something was different. As soon as I went to rinse the color out of my hair I could feel the rough, incredibly dry texture of my hair. Rinsing it only made it worse feeling. Once hair was dried the color coverage was great as always but my hair feels and looks like dried out straw. My hair was in very good health prior to this color application. Very DisappointingLeft my hair extremely dry and dull and feeling like it still had some type of thick film on it - definitely did not feel clean and definitely had no shine. My hair is naturally very shiny so this was not good! I immediately shampooed and conditioned with my own products and got a cleaner feel and some shine back, but not like with my regular store color. Loved it UNTIL....I used eSalon for about 5 years. LOVED the multi-faceted color, the texture, the gray coverage. After about the 4th year, it would no longer wash out of my hair in the shower. An eSalon colorist told me to mix baking soda in with my shampoo which I did. That worked for a short time and then I couldn't rinse the color out of my hair - It looked greasy and dirty and barely moved...like a thick gel had spilled on my head. I'm VERY disappointed this happened because I loved the color. I'm waiting for eSalon's creme-based formula to become available. Not really like my natural color...I really was so excited about this. I was hoping to get close to my natural color which is hard to do with a box. The only time I have had luck is at a salon. I ended up with reddish medium-brown, when I’m a sandy light brown. The color I got is the same color I always have when I’ve boxed dyed it before. Not for me at allThis product was a complete waist of my time. Absolutely no color change to my hair at all. I get better results from the 4 dollar bottles at my local drug store. Also not enough product for my length and definitely no where near enough shampoo or conditioner . The grey came back after only 12 days!!Looked really good right after I used it, however, the gray is already back and it was only 2 weeks! I only washed my hair 3 times during the 2 week period after the color--I only use quality shampoo made for color-treated hair. There are no adjustments that can slow or prevent regrowth, and adjustments for better gray coverage on hair that has been dyed equate to darker color. It could be betterI didn't get the result that I am expecting from the first hair color that I order. It doesn't cover the entire hair just only a few parts and it doesn't fully cover all of my gray hair just only a few and some still light in color. I am not satisfied as I didn't get the desired color that I want to. I am expecting more from this product as I pay more than the store brand. MUCH darker and redder than expected for a dark blondHad hoped to lighten my hair up a shade or so into a warm blond shade, but the color that I recieved developed into a darker copper auburn mix red base...about a shade darker than my normal tone and noticably quite red...absolutely no golden tones. My hair was completely free of any dyes or bleaches for the last few years. Reddish color instead of beige blondeSorry to say your product is not for me. I was disappointed in the formulation as the color is more reddish than ash/ beige blonde.I think I’ll stick with brands that have worked in the past for me. Really messed my hair up!I followed in the instructions to a T. When I got out of the shower, my hair was a huge matted mess and it felt like it had a thick layer of goo on it. I got back in the shower and shampooed it two more times and did a deep conditioner. It feels slightly better now, but I think it fried my hair! I also ordered ash blonde and it’s not ash. Didn’t really want dip dyed grey hair!My hair has gone a weird dip dyed grey colour. It’s orange at the roots and grey after that - it looks truly awful. I also didn’t want or ask to be put on a monthly plan and didn’t know anything about this until the money was taken from my credit card. Now I have another box of the dye that turned but hair grey which I obviously won’t be using. Color bleedsI really loved the ease of coloring and no stained forehead, however I have now ruined the second nail color because my hair stains them. So mad that’s $80 down the drain. Take "TWO"Was super excited to get this done & be gone with the grey hair, To my dissapointment the greys on crown & temple area did NOT take color as they proudly advertise. As for the color mix, it was "alright...." But what i was hoping for a deeper Plum-blackish color. This was brown wirh a suttle dull plum like tint...... Not what id hope for. New Product Inferior From the OriginalPreviously eSalon provided a kit with one color for roots and a second color refresher/sine enhancer for ends. The result was great. My hair had great color and shine. The new kit has a single color for roots only and the result is OK. but the depth of color is not there and no shine, Disappointing. Color turned my hair RED!I am very disappointed. This is not the first time my hair has been totally brassy after coloring my hair. Wrong orderYou sent me something i did not order and i emailed you twice about sending it back at your cost and sending me the color mix i always get with no response from you at all. All i did was restart my plan the last time you sent the order and it was something i never ordered before. I told you if i did not get a response from you i would be done ordering from you. in three weeks i heard nothing so i am done with you do not send me any more emails because i am unsubscribing. Not DIY at allI had to canceled my subscription after the first try because it was so difficult to do it myself and it damaged my hair. I followed the video instructions and it still turned out horrible. A lot of my hair fell off that I had to rinse it after five minutes. Don't know if the chemicals were to strong or I took to long doing the roots. I always use ammonia free products to do my hair since my hair is too delicate. If you have the soft, thin, and shiny baby hair definitely recommend you don't try this. Not satisfiedUnfortunately I am not satisfied with the “permanent” color I was sent. It was nice to receive an extra set of coloring which was used on the ombré of my hair but it did not take at all. The color washes out of my hair within a week. I am not sure if this line is a “Demi” or “permanent” color line. Previously bleached hair is more porous and cannot retain color the same as non-bleached hair, and it requires regular glossing with a color that has base in it if covering those highlights is a goal. It is inevitable that the color will fade fastest over bleached areas, and it important to wash as little as possible using only color-safe products to preserve your color over bleached hair. did not blend nor get the correct hair colorThis product only caused my hair to go a darker brown instead of the auburn it was supposed to.
