Greys Go Bye Bye, but too GoldI am 40 years old, I have white course Grey's coming through which are very hard to color. I would give this color product 5 stars for grey coverage, but I would give the actual color 4 stars, it was very close to my request but too gold red. I would give the condition 2 stars because I had to treat it with a deep mask to get out the tangles. Overall, 3 star experience so far. I love that the stylist will work with you to get the right color and you can send messages to her. Great personal attention for an online stylist and the price is very reasonable. Even my local stylist had gotten it too red once, it happens, but she could tone it down right away, which I couldn't do with this product. Made my hair fall outThe color was not even close to the picture of myself that I sent. I followed the directions to a tee, and clumps of my hair fell out, the color was dark and ashy, I had to turn the fan on in the bathroom because of the strong odor, and my remaining hair is fuzzy and damaged. No result but it didn't spoil anythingI expected the color to be lighter. I bought number 8 and I think it turned out way darker. Hardly visible touch up on my natural color. The mixture smelled very strong which would be ok if it worked. I'm glad I used it not only on the roots but on some highlights as well. It blended them a little bit. My hair was suppose to be red it is now DARK BROWN!I have strawberry blonde hair and I was going for more of a copper color. I was so excited for this product. I use the hair dye and it turns my hair DARK BROWN!!!! Not only did it not give me the color I want it gave me a color wayyyyy darker than I was asking for. Not even close to the color I was asking. It was OK....really nothing special and the shampoo and conditioner left my hair extremely dry. Felt like a bird's nest, despite following instructions. Felt like very strong chemicals, not a big fan. Disappointing overall. BummedMy first esalon was amazing! It was rich, vibrant, soft and we'll covered. And it lasted quite a Long time!! This is my second time, which meant roots touch-ups only. It seemed to begin great, but within a week (not even a week) the color was fading out fast FAST! ! 2 weeks in, I can hardly tell there was a "touch up" at all :-( . Every bit of the gray that grew out was now very visible. I want to know why initially the application was amazing and why the touch up was not? HorribleI have colored my hair for many many years and have never been more disappointed in a product. I ordered auburn and it tinted my hair purple that washed out in one week. People had a "oh dear" look when I first colored it, asking me if I meant to color it that way. Also the final horrible side effects were that my scalp has a slight itchy feel to it still and my hair is now super brittle (I've always had pretty healthy hair). I can't seem to get the color I want.Even after speaking with someone from Esalon my hair is still not a nice color. The color fades quickly and I keep having to dye all my hair to achieve the same color from root to ends. This has become very damaging to my hair. Did not want red under tones..I specifically requested no undertones. The color I chose via the photos was a medium dark golden blonde. After fully following instructions I was totally disappointed in final color. I did not want red tones. I am totally dissatisfied with this professionally mixed color. Perfect color!!!I have been trying to get this color for 3yrs. Gone to many different Salons and played over 200$ at each appointment and never came out with what I wanted. UNTIL NOW!! 17.00$ and got exactly what I wanted!! Beyond happy with the color!! Only issue is wasn't enough dye for my hair but in all fairness my hair is ridiculously long (pass my butt) and thick. But still extremely happy!! Customer for life right here!!! Edit. My first dye was perfect.. unfortunately the second shipment was more of a red color. I decided to continue with the "autoship" hoping the next one would be better. Added Gold ToneThey added Gold Tone to my custom mix. Which I never use because it really brings out the red in my hair. I did use the red tone down cream, but it did not help much. I left a note for my next order not to add the Gold Tone. If they do it again I will not be placing a new order again. It's okIt does not cover my stubborn grey at my temples. The color is still too warm for me. I really need an ash it is very difficult to find. I've washed my hair several times trying to get it to lighten up, but it hasn't helped. completely wrong colorI requested color to lighten my natural hair by one shade. I sent pictures and I picked the color closest to my natural hair and the color I wanted to change it to. The "professional" stylist decided my hair was actually darker than what I had chosen so she insisted I go with a different color to achieve the "one shade lighter" that I requested. Of course, it came out at least one shade darker than my natural color. When I asked for solutions, I was told I could buy only one shade lighter (my natural color again), but I couldn't buy highlights without buying another full kit. It seems to me that if they wanted to keep me as a customer they would have offered to ship the new color with highlights if that would fulfill my initial request. Would not rinse outI was super excited to try this product but it was a terrible experience. The product was very gummy on my hair and would not rinse out! Problem with resistant Gray coverageIt did not cover the resistant Gray but i saved a little of the extra hair color and went along the hair line a second time to cover the grey along the front hair line. But the first package when arrives the bottle leaked and they sent a replacement right away. Extremely disappointed and upset by this product.While I initially had great expectations for this product, I was extremely disappointed. I've been dying my hair on and off for about three years and I decide to try eSalon because I thought it would last longer than drugstore brands and be cheaper than the salon. I was SEVERELY disappointed for two reasons. First off, the hair dye is next to impossible to wash off. It took me one wash with the provided shampoo and four washes with my own shampoo and my hair was still left with waxy black gunk all over it, to the point where it wouldn't even dry. Secondly, the product caused my hair to fall out in clumps and thin like never before. It should be noted that I dyed my hair darker and have NEVER experienced hair thinning or loss from dyeing my hair or any other reason. Upon reading other reviews online after my experience, I found that many other women experienced hair thinning and loss. This product is falsely advertised and I am extremely saddened that my once thick hair is now damaged and thin at the age of 19. Way too darkYou sent a dark color that ruined my hair! I had it professionally stripped and lightened per your instructions, costing $200. All i wanted to do was cover grey and roots. This is way darker than it should have been and it leached into anything that was light! It now looks like shit and i am going to have to pay $200 AGAIN to get it fixed! I followed the instructions to a t but you did not adjust the color like i asked. I specifically said i had put a lot of blonde in my hair that i didnt want ruined. I even set 3 different pictures. doesn't do the trickFirstly, the customer service team did their best. When I wasn't happy with the first color formula, they sent out another. Alas, it's just not at all the color I was hoping to have... LAST MONTH. Secondly, the stuff feels awful rinsing out. It sticks to your hair and is just horrible to wash out. Yuk. Light Blonde to medium blondeI tried the kit and really liked how simple it was to color my hair. The only problem is the color! My roots are naturally a medium-dark blonde which ended up becoming light red and my ends which were a light blonde became a dark blonde with a greenish tint to it. What happened?I loved the initial color and got compliments on the color. The follow up was the same. However, this 3rd issue turned out darker than the others. The same stylist applied it according to directions as with 1st & 2nd. [edited from March2017] MediocreI started with eSalon back in March and was happily surprised. The color was rich, a much closer match than I'd been able to achieve from a box, and smelled like heaven. Unfortunately it didn't last very long at all and gray and root colors started to show at 3 weeks (home coloring didn't do this until about 5). I requested a change in color and formula (told them it wasn't covering my grays--even within days of coloring) and then it stopped smelling so nice. Actually smelled worse than at-home kits. And also left my hair just as brassy. Leaking bottleLast bottle leaked by the time I received it 3/4 of color was gone. Had to purchase store bought color to replace it.. color is great, packaging horrible.
