ExperimentingMy first order I thought was too dark so I asked to have the next order lightened a slight bit. I find that the revised color seemed to fade faster than the first order (which I didn't like because it was too dark). So I'm contemplating what changes if any to make to my next order. not so crazy about my last shipment after color changeI'm still trying to get to the color I need. I sent in a request for alterations, but the color that was sent on Jan. 24th was worse than the previous one. The color was more one dimensional, and even more reddish/coppery tones than the previous one. Don't wish to buy againI put the colour on as per instructions. My hair has been on for one week and is two different colours, you can still see the difference between my roots and the rest of my hair. Completely darker than expectedI have mixed feelings. On the one hand I think the quality of the dye is great (great coverage and happy with the overall dyeing experience), the color is about 5 shades darker than what I was expecting based on the color I chose. I don't hate the color per se, but I am trying to adjust to the fact that it's darker than what I was aiming for. Not much I can do about. Will probably continue to use it and keep the color because I don't HATE it but I was disappointed and did receive unexpected results. Too darkMy hair came out almost black this time. I thought last time it was almost to the ash tint. Please fix it back to my first order I like it that color the best so far. Wouldn't sell me the right colorAfter a few months of using esalon, I had to have my hair stripped due to ashy residue from the color. I requested a change; they never responded. I kept using the color I had on hand, had my hair professionally lightened again, and a LICENSED stylist helped me select the correct color. Esalon REFUSED to sell me the requested color. I had my friend, a salon stylist, help me apply the color because I had a bruised rib and she was very curious about your product and we both wanted to make sure it was done properly. I am so disapointed that it did not work for me because I was so excited about it. Do I still get a refund for trying it? Smells terribleI used Madison Reed Color service online. Their color didnt damage my hair at all. After I used esalon color (dark brown) my hair was so damage. It's smells terrible, like a box color for $3 from the store. And I couldnt color my long hair as fast as it required. It was hard to wash it off. Now Prons: love the shampoo and condi, smells great. MehhhhThe color came out orangey, brassy, I'm not happy. Not sure what happened. My roots were gray, I supplied 2 pictures of my current color, and so I don't know why roots would turn out this way. I had to purchase another color product at Pharmacy to somewhat correct. I don't feel this is personalized at all, They just take information from the questions, but the questions were too general, they need deeper dive into a person's color situation to be "personalized" More question on the roots. Great coverageThe reformulated color is good. Provides great coverage, but looking for ways to preserve the highlighting. Since coverage is so good, has a tendency to color the entire head, not just where it's applied. Losing that shineI have absolutely loved the convenience of having my hair color delivered to my home every 5 weeks ---- I travel alot for my career so it makes it convenient and easy to keep up the color by having home delivery; however, these past two applications my hair has not looked as healthy as the previous applications. Will not repurchaseThis was my 3rd time coloring with Esalon color over the last 6 months. The first two times, I was very happy with the color and the process. It left my hair feeling very nice. This time around, I applied the color per the instructions. The only difference this time was I changed the color. When I rinsed the color off, it literally took an hour to get the color out. It made my hair feel very rubbery and slick. I had to shampoo it 4 times. I think it totally defeated the purpose of coloring my hair and I had to use different shampoo because the little packet of shampoo they provide you wasn't enough to get the color out. After drying my hair, my hair is VERY damaged and fried (my hair was super healthy before this color application) and my hair feels very greasy. You also cannot tell I colored my hair. Better and yet notLet me begin with this....I LOVE YOUR PRODUCT but more than that I ADORE YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am still havenjoy to have some tweaking done with color and coverage. The gray on temple and front hairline still don't seem to stay dark but better than first few. My other concern is that it being a more Golden color vs the red chocolate brown color I prefer. When first colored it has a deepness to it but it lightens quickly and to a a golden color. I know while continuing it will become the rich chocolate brown I am wanting. Expected colorHmm, sad to write this review. My before hair color was dark brown and I wanted to get entirely copper colored hair from Esalon. The package and instructions came very professionally and i followed every details to how to color my hair. The result was I did not get copper colored hair and my previous color more likely to dominated on my hair. Still a little too red....Know red is hard to cover. Really want to get away from red hair and requested a darker brown but got a light brown that on top of red made a mid auburn color. No gray coveredThis product did not cover the gray roots in my hair virtually at all. The kit itself itself is terrific idea but if it does not cover gray at all then it isn't worth much. Even if it did a great job of covering the gray with a tone that is similar to my hair color, I am not certain that it is affordable to most at $20 plus $5 shipping. Still need work on the stubborn grayThe 2nd time around the color was customized and it did justiced. However the 3rd one still the same as the very first one did not cover the gray well. I still see my gray. I did follow instructions as it indicated in the booklet. Please adjust appropriately like the second one. I was happy with that. 1st and only coloringI am happy with how the dark brown turned out, however I'm not happy with the product itself. I have never used a hair dye that burned my scalp and stained my skin so badly. I don't believe I will be ordering again unless I have someone to help me to deal with the drips and scalp stains. Very Pleasant Customer ServiceI have to give two stars for the wonderful customer service. Each individual I interacted with was a pleasure to speak with, receptive & followed through with whatever they said they would do promptly. However, my color change was from blonde highlights to my root base, with a hint of mahogany red. It was explained that the transition may take more than one service. This is because I needed a colorfill. The color was off though & quite red. I love red, but this was orangey red the more I looked at it. Also, my roots were dark brown. They sent me out a second color which would make my roots & ends the same color. I did a strand test & sadly there was no result. I sent pictures again showing the strand test result, or lack thereof. They did offer to make a new color mixture. At that point I did not want to stress my hair out anymore than it was. It seems my hair just does not take to this dye. The personnel are wonderful & the packaging is adorable with explicit directions. Make the decision for me, despite me voicing my opinionI'll start by saying that the dye is very good quality, easy to use and rinse off my skin, and left hair soft after application. My complaint is that I felt my opinion on what I wanted to do with my hair was ignored in ordering this. I asked for an overall hair color, I had gotten my hair dyed at the salon, and they made my hair more of a red than a copper, and I wanted to re-dye my whole head the more copper color I selected. When my color was sent out however, I was told they only made me a dye to re-color my roots, and received a complimentary ends touch up with my first purchase, all of which only kept my hair the same color it was before based on my pictures. I still used the dye, and like I said, it's a quality dye, and the personalized instructions are great too. I just wish they hadn't overlooked what I wanted as much. not as good as beforeI don't know if the formulation changed, but the texture of my last hair color product seemed "drier" than it used to be, it didn't spread as easily in my hair. I like that it doesn't leak everywhere, but the consistency seemed different this time. I was also disappointed with the color itself. I specifically requested no red, and to neutralize the red, but my brown is definitely reddish. Un-happy hair(color)!I'd written you over a month ago to tell you I was unhappy with the previous haircolir shipment, as the results wrre WAY too dark, as compared to previous. I had NOT changed anything prior to that! I received no response but Now, you sent me another " refill" AND charged my VISA yet again! (NOT in keeping with your "100%satisfaction" guarantee! ) I am unsure whether you made any changes or not? Also, I am afraid the color will, once again, be darker than my original! Color is great, but damaged hair.I love the color and have used it three times now. I have used the same hair products for years, but noticed my hair has become tangled and difficult to brush since using the E salon product. When getting my hair cut it was pointed out that all of elasticity is gone from my hair from the color product. Shortest coverage for grays...ever!Okay, I've tried my custom color - it is a great match and a nice color, which is what makes it even more disappointing - three times now. I apply as prescribed to cover my grays - and I'm 99% sure this is not user error - been doing this for a lot of years now. Each time, by the second day - without washing, mind you - my grays are showing around the edges. I don't know what might cause this, but it is frustrating to go from perfect coverage one day to not so perfect the next. It goes downhill from there. SERIOUSLY!?!?!I've been coloring my hair for AT LEAST 27 years, and have gotten better results with a box dye. What a disappoint!!! The grey still showing, blah coloring, and I asked for a dark golden blonde...Ended up with a light/medium brown... VERY DISAPPOINTING.... Dull colorI tried several times to get my color right but, it never changed. I wanted a nice chocolate with a hint of some red. I really like a mahogany color. It came out drab. I also ordered the gloss and all that was, was another color with 20 volume developer. my hair is completely dried out from it. This is my last order from e-salon.
