Does not workI have hard to color gray. I made sure I noted this on esalon. My box from the grocery store works better! This was a waste of time and double the cost. A lot of my gray did take the color and the ones that did look blonde. I did everything just like the directions and I am not new to using box color. Did not cover grey and poor serviceI followed the instructions. Product did not cover my grey at all. I was not offered a refund but told they would adjust the formula and send me a new kit (which I would pay for). Several weeks later, the new kit hasn’t come. HesitantI was scared to try this new product at first, it took me a week to open the box, the instructions were really clear, many steps to it and I thought the process was going well until I washed it out and it stained my bathtub. My hair looked dark more black than any blue and a bit dry. It did look natural on me, regular black color. UnsatisfiedI was under the impression that this color was "brown" with "purple highlights" but I was very wrong! High Hopes But Little resultsMy color was a cool blonde. It was applied as described. The processing of color looked good - very similar to salon, but the end result was very disappointing. My natural hair is very gray, almost white and the eSalon color had no impact on roots at all. Even with a 20 vol developer, no change, other than my hair felt a bit dryer. Roots are still grayI had someone apply color to my hair carefully, covering all the grays. After I washed my hair by the provided shampoo and conditioner, most of the roots were still gray. I timed it and kept the color on for 40 mins. I am not sure what should I have done differently, but the outcome was not satisfactory. I thought i will apply it again, but in few hours the color foamed out of the bottle. So, I still have all my grays even after doing everything right and following the instructions. Too redI was so excited to try this, but the color is nothing like I expected, which is part of the risk I anticipated. It's very pretty, but it's RED. I was not going for red at all. My hair is super soft, so that's a plus. ColorI finally received my color we did a test area color seemed ok. We did the process as directed. Humm color didn't cover the grays well and its not a dark and more red than mahogany. When I placed the order I was almost 5 weeks from last professional color, by time I received color I was almost another 4 weeks. Giving me almost 9 weeks since color so a lot more. gray. Applying color was easy just not thrilled with color as it is more strawberry than mahogany. color didn’t turn outI got this with the thought of wanting to dye my hair dark blonde. I got the semi permanent dye because if i didn’t like it then it would wash out. Once i got my kit it was put together very nice and easy to understand what to do but my hair turned out very orange and not dark at all. Absolutely terrible colour, and I don’t know how to fix itNot even remotely close to what I had imagined or my natural colour. My ends are darker than my roots in a terrible cherry red. My roots are a lighter Cooper brown and lighter than my ends, but blotchy colour. The copper latched on to my front and the grey are now brown. But not a brown that is the same as my natural dark medium brown. There is nothing consistent, natural looking or close to an medium brown with some Cooper. The red given to touch up my ends is so unbelievably fake looking I haven’t had hair this bad since I started dying my hair in junior high. Not happyI chose the color I wanted via the color chart- it looks nothing like that at all. Its darker, I even screenshot the color I wanted- it was closer to the color I had before. I am very unimpressed. I followed the instructions to a tee. My birthday is coming up and although it doesn't look like it got botched- it doesn't look like what I wanted or had picked out. Not exactly what I was hoping forI went through and entered my hair and color information as accurately as possible. My hair was golden and I wanted more of an ash color. When I received my Dark Blonde Ash color I didn't expect it to be spectacular, but I expected it to change. The result was just a more noticeable golden color. It was supposed to be a darker color compared to what my hair was. The least I expected was less gold and more ash or even just a darker blonde. Not the desired colorI ordered a pearl mahogany color after I read a review recommending this product. While the instructions were easy to follow and the product was very gentle on my scalp (I usually have issues with dyes stinging and itching), my roots, which were quite prominent with my previous hair color, are the just as dark, while the dye is not nearly as red as advertised. Hair too dark for the dyeI really wanted this to work. But unfortunately after following all the instructions I can't even see a tint of colour peeping through. Part of the problem as well was that the colour I chose was the lightest one that was available, as the colours lighter, which my hair probably needed, were unavailable to me. Not the right shade and no gray coverageI spent a lot of time adding pictures, explaining what I was looking for. None of this was taken into account for my “custom” blend and I’m almost positive the shade was just sent as is with no customization. When I stated that the color didn’t work for me (was not even close to the shade I asked for, gave me hot roots, and didn’t cover grays) I was basically met with insinuations that I was too old to get the shade I wanted, the colorist stating that the models in the photos I sent “didn’t look like they were also trying to cover grays”. I’m 34. Maybe this is a good solution if you want exactly the shades they have available, but if you are looking for customization or the kind of consultation/thought you’d get in the salon, look elsewhere. I’m just gonna try blending my own with products from Sally’s, little tip that maybe these “master colorists” could use: when blending yourself, use the percent of a natural color (i.e, brown) corresponding to the percent of gray hair you have. So, for me I have about 20% gray, so I’m planning on using 20% brown, the rest bright red (my desired shade). Good luck! Way too dark and not what I thought I was gettingMy previous hair color, a box color, was a medium auburn I liked and received many compliments on. The color in my eSalon kit, applied according to their instructions, is a solid dark brown which looks unnatural and is not what I ordered. I am very fair, have very pale eyes and had natural auburn hair, which suited my coloring, for the first two decades of my life. This color makes me look older than I am and is way too dark for my complexion. I am very unhappy with it and will not be ordering from them again. I bought this because I was told it does NOT have bad chemicalsI'm so bummed. I am breaking out like crazy. I looked for a product that would not have the PPD additives or any harsh chemicals. Madison Reed promised that I would love this product and I've done nothing but scratch my head, my neckline and its even effecting my eyes, ears, forehead--basically everywhere. The presentation of product is nice, I like the color, although I wanted dark ash brown--the blue black is tooooooooooooooo dark. I didn't even put all of the color on. Once you go black, black you cant do anything else. The color was too much and I'm breaking out like crazy. So Madison Reed lied. Not the color I wanted and expectedThe online experience was fine (up to a point, see below). The product was beautifully packaged. My hair felt good afterward - texture, coverage was good. But the color itself wasn't the rich, vibrant red I had wanted and expected. I think if I could have talked live with a colorist it would have been better. Tough greys?I was going fir a neutral light briwn. The salon team recommended I do a two step process with a gold filler first. Unfortunately this has left me with a very brassy light brown. Further it doesn’t cover my greys, just makes them brassy. It will wash out quickly . I’m frustrated as I either end up with very bleached white streaks when I get it professionally or I end up with a color that is not natural and very brassy when I do it myself. High hopes, sorrowfully disappointedI was really looking forward to this product. I was so happy when it came and couldn’t wait to try coloring my hair for the first time. It didn’t change my hair color at all. I followed all the instructions but after applying all over my head, waiting 30 minutes, blending, and washing everything out, and drying my hair, nothing happened. Same color before and after, absolutely no change. Very upsetting waste of time and I hope I can get my money back.
