I love that there was separate color for roots, however it didn't cover my grey very well and roots were lighter than rest of hair. The rest of my hair looks great though. Color is nice a warm and shiny

After having a bad experience with expensive salon color, I decided to try eSalon. The price was good and I liked that it ships directly to your home. I filled out all the questions for my first order and waited for it to arrive. It was packaged well and instructions were simple. The color was very good, no harsh smell. The color was rich and provided even coverage. The price is fair although it has gone up to $24.95 this month and I'm not sure why. Not sure if I want to continue at that price. The only con is that the color seems to fade rather quickly, even using color-safe shampoo. I would, however, recommend giving this product a try. I am happy with my purchase and am on my third consecutive order.

Loved the 2nd round eSalon made for me as far as color. Can't get past the fumes though. And the shine did not seem to last past 3. I use quality shampoo.

I am 65, have been coloring my hair since I was 16. This color doesn't fade, is easy to apply, better than any drug store products. I wish there was a way I could get 25% more product with each application. I have thick hair, and run out of product half way thru the back of my head.

I do love the quality of your hair dye. What's frustrating is that you don't send what we order! The color always comes out too dark! My medium brown comes out like black.

This product seems to be a professional level product for the public to use. Drug store hair color products did nothing for my gray except tint it yellow. This is the ONLY hair coloring that completely covers all my gray hair. However, since it's a liquid, it's very messy to use. In the directions, if you're still stating for the last step, to get into the shower to rinse the dye off, then I still think you're wrong in your instruction. I wouldn't want to turn around only to discover that the back of my body is also dyed brown.

I am now 4 weeks post-color application and there is NO evidence of roots. I am blown away by the color match. I DO have a few gray hairs peeking through so my only complaint is that they broke through about week 2 and I would love to improve on that,but otherwise definitely exceeded my expectations.

The adjusted color captured what I desired for the outcome. The one negative is the directions. It needs to be rewritten so it doesn't sound like a scolding on following the process on how to color. Overall satisfied customer.

I got my first box of made for me color. First, the presentation was fantastic. Directions were easy to follow, albeit a bit daunting because my first color required one bottle for root application and one for ends. Total time from start to finish took me a little over an hour. I asked for some tweaks on the color as the roots were lighter than I wanted and more orangey tone. Also could tell where the bulk of my grey was. The colorist responded that they'd tweaked my next formula to make it darker and with a different tone and more grey coverage. What I CAN say is almost a month later the color is still there. It has not faded out as the box dyes ALL did for me.
Time will tell with my next formulation bit for now I'm a happy customer. Much more cost effective than a salon visit every 4-6 weeks. 😊

My grays were covered thoroughly and lasted until my hair grew out. The color was just watt wanted and it lightened just a enough to let the sun reflect off my hair.

I love the color, the only problem I keep having is it fades pretty quickly. My colorist has been working with me on each new order to adjust. The product is of good quality, and the instructions are very easy to follow. Very happy with the decision to go with esalon.

I have had my hair colored at salons before and after 3-4 weeks it starts to fade and turn grey again. But with e-salon my hair still has its beautiful color after at least 6 weeks and is still shinny and sleak. I love e-salon and would recommend to everyone.

The color was a little darker this time and tends to be more brassier than I like it but I did get my highlights in good this time so it does lightness some. I don't so much want to go blonde because I've never been a strawberry blonde ... Its great, just never paid 25.00 for one-time color use. On my budget, its a wee bit high.

I have been using this hair colour for about a year now and it is the only one that covers grey completely. It is possible to adjust the colour if you fancy a change and the results are really good.
My only concern is that using the colour is quite messy and even though I cover as much as I can in the bathroom I still end up with splashes everywhere.

I love the product; esalon colorists have matched my "before-gray" beautifully. But the instructions leave a lot to be desired. No reason is given for different instructions--apparently I'm supposed to spend $20 to color just my roots, now that I've been using esalon for a year. It would be nice if the instructions came with a paragraph explaining the changes.

My first delivery was too dark so I contacted esalon to adjust the formula. The first adjustment still had a little too much brown and purple. My second request has given me the perfect balance of red and brown for a great auburn color!

I really like my color and it is easy to change when I want a bit more red or want to go more brunette. My only complaint is that it is so difficult to get off of the scalp. I scrub and scrub in an effort to remove it. After a week or so, I finally feel that it is completely clean.

I am not a hair person! I just don't know how to do all that stuff but I'm telling you this was almost as easy as washing your hair, the results though were well beyond what I had ever expected, my Daughter who does know what she's doing had dyed my hair red I didn't want to do the upkeep of it so wanted to go back brown, well I've done this before at the salon and it's never easy because they can't take you from red back to brown in one process. Well shame on them because eSalon took me there no problem! I have a lot of grey now that I did not have then as well. I recommend this very much. What a fantastic product and experience!

The color was right on. Didn't look like a fake red head. Looked very natural. However, the grey came back almost immediately. Which was the main reason I bought the color in the first place. That's why I only gave 4 stars.

The color didn’t work on Some grey hair along ear line and sides of ear . I tried twice it didn’t touch at all

I used to love my formula with eSalon, but this one was different. Not enough copper, too much blonde and it did not cover my grays well even though I saturated my roots!
Very disappointed this time around. Does not even look like I colored it at all. I wanted it to look good because I have a beach vacation coming up in a week! 😒

The colour covers my greys and had good coverage but this is not the colour I requested. Got no response from customer service when I contacted them. Very Disappointed. i feel like they have me a colour they wanted rather than what I wanted.

I have brown hair and wanted a rich copper, it showed me that with my current color I could get that with their specific formula. Not only is it not even remotely copper, it looks exactly like my hair before I dyed it. I followed all the instructions to the letter, so I’m bummed out because I was really looking forward to a change

I wanted to try this as it seems better quality than the regular box dye from the supermarket market - and while the package was layed out beautifully, there was absolutely no change to the colour of my hair. I asked for dark brown ash and specified that I wanted the red tinge gone (hence the ash) but it’s still there - potentially even more prominent. I strictly followed all instructions. Pretty disappointed so will probably just have to go back to the trusty Cole’s box dye

Bonjour,
L’avant-dernière fois j’avais demandé un peu plus foncé, puis comme c’était un peu trop foncé, j’ai ensuite demandé une teinte entre les deux.
À ma grande stupéfaction, la dernière teinte reçue était ROUGE 😳
J’ai été obligée d’acheter des produits pour retirer le pigment rouge tant que possible puis ai acheté un châtain au supermarché !
Je suis extrêmement insatisfaite et ne comprends pas, certainement une méchante erreur car jusqu’à maintenant c’était plutôt satisfaisant.

I love the product and I needed the large bottle the first time I purchased to fix a colour mistake. This time though, I just need to do my roots and it’s nearly £30 for a whole bottle to use maybe a 1/3 of it?! It’ll last a couple of weeks before I need to purchase again. So I won’t be purchasing again unless esalon introduce a roots only option for a much lower cost AND the delivery price really needs looked at. £6 for standard delivery and £10 if it’s express which still takes a couple of days is really not good enough. You have a great business and I love the product but the prices are simply too high if I’m just needing to colour my roots every couple of weeks.

If you feel you have been losing significantly more than this, you may have had an allergic reaction. We have reached out to you via email as well. great concept, lackluster results

I love the idea of a custom at-home hair dye, but the results left something to be desired. I selected the dye I wanted but was told that it was too far from my natural color and that I should select something more subtle. My intention was to go darker so it’s not as if there was bleach involved.
I followed eSalon’s guidance and went with a color closer to my natural hair and the result was hardly noticeable. Furthermore, it lasted maybe three or four washes before completely washing out. I did select a Demi dye, which I’ve done at the salon in the past, so I knew it would fade gradually, but it was SO temporary. I also typically have super shiny hair after getting it dyed at the salon or with other at-home dyes, but that was not the case here. My hair felt a bit gritty even after thoroughly washing the dye out.
I want to love this so much and would maybe give it another go with a new color and permanent formula, but for now I think I’ll suck it up and shell out some $$$ at the salon to get my preferred color for the holidays.

Followed the instructions step by step and sent in a photo and description of my desired colour which was an auburn. I specifically said I do not want it red. So now my hair is very dull looking and red - like someone has coloured it with a crayon. I didn’t even take up the offer of a free replacement it’s that bad!

I have been using the same color set for more than 2 years, so I do know what my tone looks like after I retouch it every 6 weeks. However, this time I am not sure why the color is different, darker but it didnt cover grays the same way either! So odd!

I’ve used box dye for years and thought I’d try esalon. Since using it my hair is in poor condition. Now my hair is knotty, tangles easily and my curl clumps are no longer fat and juicy. I’ve tried deep conditioning and a protein treatment with minimal results. This dye is the only new product in my routine. The coverage is amazing and, although darker than I expected, the colour is great. Such a shame

I love this company's hair color. It colors evenly and is easy to use. But as for there customer service is horrible. I can't get a simple question answered! Time to find another user friendly company that doesn't make you jump through hoops just to get simple question answered.

I was sent black like I asked for but once I had put the colour on my roots went ginger not the black it says I've had to go to a salon to have this corrected though I was cutting the cost using salon but I've now had to pay out for this to be corrected at a salon
