my color is ruinedI finally tried this, it took so long to receive my kit that i bought my regular kit and used it. I'm so disappointed! it suppose to be light golden brown, even i sent a picture of my hair color, now my hair it's a lot darker, nothing to do with the color i use to wear and not even covered my grays. eSalon's New FormulaI am reviewing mostly to see if anyone else is struggling with their hair color since eSalon's recent changes to their formula. My next order will be my 3rd try at readjusting my color. Previously my color had golden mixed in and it was the equivalent of a nice highlighted look. But after the formula change, my first color was very dull with little golden. So it was adjusted. Now it is too much golden which has gotten even lighter within a few days of coloring my roots. I'm am hoping my 3rd request to return to my original color will even out all of the gold. I have definitely noticed a change in the coloring product, both consistency and a strong bleach like odor which is unpleasant. I previously would have rated eSalon with 5 stars and I'm hoping my communications with the colorist can resolve this soon. Not what I wantedI didn’t get what I asked for. I think I was clear about my goals, however, I was very disappointed with the outcome after using your product. I wanted red. Red not pink - Not pinkish red. Just red, like natural red color that actually grows out of a person’s head. What I got was brown. Now that it’s almost time to color again, it’s faded off to something I can stand. Brown with some golden highlights. I can’t recommend your product or services because I emailed directly with a stylist, went with her recommendations and was still disappointed in the end. God but expensiveThe gray coverage is good, not sure if it’s any better than what I can buy at the store. Most of us used a coupon and got the 1st order for $10 then it jumps up to $29 including $5.95 for shipping. I do not enjoy coloring my own hair so for that price it’s not worth it. Horrible shade of brown that looks hideous with my skintoneI requested a medium bling and sent two photos. The color that arrived was called dark blonde but was truly a mousy Orange 🍊 brown that doesn’t match my ski tone in any way. This product is not anywhere near the product advertised. I feel conned and ugly with this color. I’ve now spent another $40 to get a better product to remove this color. Even the toner as a bust. Will not use again.I used my order during COVID. It did not cover my gray well and after a few days it was turning orange fast. I called and they said that you need to use it within 6 months (it was 8 months). And nothing more. No offer to help with my hair. No offer to discount a new order. I was not told nor saw an "expiration date" on the product. Will not use again. Glad my salon opened again. Very Disappointed....I sent in careful instructions and several photos of my hair to the colorist only to get a color that turned my hair bright red/orange after I specifically said that I did not want ANY red to my hair color. I was offered a new color free of charge but that color formula appears to be hardly changed and I will not put any more colors on my hair that will further turn it red. Grays showing alreadyAfter the first wash, the color on my grays was coming out, a few more washes it's only gotten worse. Not happy nowI received my new color opened it up and seriously some of the color had spilled out the developer had a strong scent of I went ahead and colored my hair I loved the results -no grays or reddish highlights my husband even loved the results and new color I washed hair a week later the color started fading here it is three weeks later a little gray and red highlights I am not happy I hate venting because I feel bad afterwards husband will vouch about the color sorry for bad review 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Something was offFirst off, it took over 2 weeks to reach me. When I added the water as directed little flakes came out of the bottle. I figured I either didn't shake it properly or the developer was old. Regardless, I got in the shower and massaged the remnants into my scalp. Some dye dripped down onto my face but since my hands were busy with my scalp I didn't wipe it immediately. After the shower, after dressing and drying my hair, my face starts to hurt and turn red. The location of the redness is coincidently where the dye dripped. I thought dryness might be the issue but sadly it seems to be a chemical burn. Since this has never happened before I'll give esalon another chance as there truly could be a bad batch of chemicals but please check into this to verify so others are not harmed. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. The Colorist Ignored EverythingBeware that eSalon does not appear to read the requests of its clients, which is sad because I used this company 5 years or so ago and had a good experience. For example -- and I use this because it's a great example that it was not my fault -- my hair had no dye in it. I explained that. What did I get? A root kit and an ends kit. But there were no roots! Why would I need two different sets of dye when all of my hair was "virgin" hair??? One color should have been created. That's just an example of just how much eSalon did not care what I said. The color was horrid and nothing like I wanted, which was basically just the color I had. I just wanted to cover up the whites that were popping up. When I called just now to explain the situation, the customer service representative said, "I cannot work with you if you are going to be negative about the colorist." When applying and rinsing, the consistency is weird and it gets everywhere. Then a month later we received another box. When I ordered, I specifically chose a single trial. Complete disappointmentFirst colorist jumped too light with my dark blonde/light brown underneath hair- made it red! The very thing I warned the colorist of happening. I had wonderful customer service with the second colorist empathizing and sending out correction dye. This made it more red! After a second attempt to correct- which I appreciate this, since you guarantee satisfaction. The 3 Rd coloring attempt made it dark red! I wanted light blonde, not Auburn red! Lazy/ I wanted one stepI dislike colouring my hair very much. I was disappointed because it was two separate steps roots + ends. I (personally) need one step. I did not get the full effect of my colour because I only used the root bottle on my whole head. I however LOVED the colour for my roots. I was a bit scared to try the other because of how different the colour ratio looked (totally my fear & I didn't try) it was just me being unfamiliar. The price + shipping on top of it, is not something I want to commit to paying that much for. I usually buy store box dye, so quite a bit cheaper.
