Decent Product, Poor Color SelectionI liked the products but even after speaking with them I still cannot understand what the problem is. If I tell you I've been coloring it light blonde then give me a light blonde. Not light brown. If it is a difference between highlighting and regular color then tell me which one I need. If you don't have the capability them tell me. I can walk into my stylists shop and say blonde and I come out blonde. This is advertised as having the range of colors then refuse to make more than a 2 shade difference in color. I'll just go back to paying my stylist. At least then I know what the color will be. So, as long as you aren't trying to change you hair by only 2 shades, not a bad service. Not as expectedI was promised natural golden brown. My hair is dark brown after using their custom, formulated color. I emailed asking for a refund and a replacement and was told I should adjust my color settings on the site. I went to the site to cancel my membership and learned that they do offer refunds and replacement if you're dissatisfied, unless you're me. Great Gray Coverage But.....I love how well it covered my gray. I love how soft my hair is after coloring. worse than box colorI bought this to fix my hair after a beautician botched a color job twice and colored my brunet hair red. My hair still has quit a bit of red in it and my scalp is still died even after several washings. My hair feels like straw and has had very little improvement even with hot oil treatments and deep conditioning. I will never buy this color again. Color-resistant greyI had high hopes that the eSalon personalized hair color would take care of my grey hairs that are starting to show up with a vengeance, but the color seemed to wash completely out by the end of the second week. I followed directions like my like depended on it but the greys won the battle. I think I actually had better luck with some of the other hair color on the retail market and I colored it about three weeks ago and the greys are slowly returning - at a slower rate than when I tried the eSalon hair color. Worst I have ever usedI have never used a color that I could barely rinse out. I had to shampoo my hair 3 times to get all of the product out of it. It was ridiculous. It matted to my scalp and wouldn't rinse off no matter what I tried!! The color came out fine its red as I wanted but I could have spent less money and been just as happy if not happier with the result. Panic AttackThis is not the right product for me. It was one of the most toxic smelling colors I've ever used. Then when I went to wash it out, my hair clumped into dread that were thick and sticky. The product would not wash out. I had to spend almost an hour in the shower with a comb to try to get it out. All the while my head kept getting heavier because the water was causing it to become a paste like gooey substance. Horrendous CommunicationMy color was too light on the roots and I am quite disappointed with the service. I received an email saying that my hair color was adjusted to be lighter. However when I called (because I did not want it lighter), there was no adjustment made to the color. In addition, when I received the color, the instructions stated to place the hair color all over (2nd bottle). I had previously received an email saying to only apply the color to the roots. Just not what I'm going for. Plus the colorist doesn't follow my directions.I was looking for a dusty violet, or even lavender shade when I began. My first color came out more like a deep auburn than anything. I requested more of a violet shade, and my second coloring came out a deep burgundy. Still not the lavender/violet shade that I was going for. I requested a new adjustment to the color, specifically asking that all red be removed from the dye and that the level of violet be increased. While the violet content did go up, so did the red content. By the time they get it right, my hair's going to be fried, and I'll have spent hundreds. I'm just going to take myself to a local hair salon and have it done right in one shot. Still having trouble getting the right color..I've noticed my gray coming through in appr 4 weeks. Not new growth, fading off the gray. This that I just put on is what was sent to my complimentary for my roots. I applied to roots and after 20 minutes put the remaining on the rest of my hair. It is just too dark. Drug Store Color/Salon PricingSo disappointing to try this color and have it be nothing as described. I purchased it to have the brassy tones blended out and ended up with the same pre color only deeper than I started with. I even had my hairstylist apply it so it would be correctly applied. Horrible....After following the directions to the letter, I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed until the water was clear. ..or so I thought. Used the sad dollop of shampoo and conditioner as instructed and it was like the conditioner would not wash out. Hair LossAfter using this product for the second time, I experienced a great deal of hair loss. After applying the product and leaving it on as instructed, washing it with eSalon product, my hair was left with this waxy, gooey mess. It took me over 2 washes to get it out of my hair. Not GoodI bought March 2, 2017. Waited until today to color my hair. Was excited. Did as the instructions told me. I have grey and some lighter areas that are hard to cover. Washed out the color. Seemed very rough textured and kind of dry. Did the conditioner. Hate it. My roots are brassy tone and not an even color throughout. Not what I expected!I had such high hopes for this! I had heard so many good reviews! But sadly my experience was less than par. I followed the instructions to a T! My roots did not dye completely, I still see somewhat my natural color. The worst part is I have washed my hair TWICE now and it still smells and has an odd texture. Color is good but won't wash outI enjoyed the color, convenience, and items provided but the color just wouldn't wash out of my hair after dying. I scrubbed and scrubbed. Shampooed multiple times and I kept finding more. I also didn't think the quality of the dye block or shampoo or conditioner. I switched to Madison reed and have great color, great kit(even has a cap), no issue with dye washing out and love the dye blocker and shampoo and conditioner. DissapointedI have dark brown hair and the color I picked was suppose to help lighten it a bit and give it a nice violet/red hue. Did the strand test and it looked pretty good. So I dyed the rest of my hair today and I'm so disappointed with the color. Definitely doesn't look like the color I chose at all and you wouldn't even know I dyed my hair at all unless I'm out in the sun. Even then there's only a slight color difference. Poor customer serviceI tried the product 3 times. Burned my head 3 times and turned my roots orange. When I sent the info to the colorist, I was told I was not applying it correctly, but that they would make some changes with the next shipment. Nothing appeared to change with that shipment. It did not cover all the grays and my grays were showing well prior to the next shipment. I have dyed my hair with home color that lasted longer and colored my hair uniformly at a much cheaper price. I also requested to go lighter and was told that was not possible. Made my hair very stickyI really love the color of my hair but I have never had a hair color make my hair feel sticky. I don't know what to do to make it feel soft. I am a bit disappointedI am a bit disappointed with the product as when I wash my hair the blackness of the colour is still there even after 5 weeks, root of my hair is also black which means when I touch my hair my nails are getting black for the first 4 weeks, is not very pleasant feeling! They have changed the colour of my next order and I hope that would change the result for the next time. HarshI found this product to be very harsh on my hair. The smell while using it was very much like ammonia - stinging to the eyes. My hair has been unusually dry since using the color. Also, I indicated in my preferences that my hair tends to show copper tones when lightening and I did not want copper tones, and yet alas, I have copper tones prevalent in the new color. It fades so fast!I color my hair every three weeks because of my gray. Well before I need to color because of my gray, I need to color because the color has faded so much. There is no excuse for a color fading that quickly. I use color safe shampoo and conditioner. I kept tweaking the color hoping it would help and it didn't. When I contacted eSalon, they tried to sell me products to fix it. If I was coloring every eight weeks, I could understand that, but not for every three weeks.
