Good product butI have to say this was easy to use and very gentle compared to some other products. I have it 2 stars because the color faded really fast and I use a high end color safe shampoo and conditioner. will never use againThis is by far the worst hair coloring product I have used. It is extremely runny and created a huge mess. I have never had this problem with any other hair coloring product. WORST customer service I have experienced in a LONG time!I have been a loyal customer of eSalon for 5-6 years. I recently thought I was adding shampoo and conditioner and root touch up to my color order at a reduced price. I was informed I could not get the reduced price bc my color had already shipped. It had not. In fact, I received the shampoo and conditioner and root touch up 1 week before my color. I spoke with customer service at different steps during this past 2 weeks. I was told I could return the shampoo and conditioner and root touch up but that was it. When I expressed how disappointing this whole experience had been and how I have been such a fan for over 5 years but that I will now be considering looking at other companies to get my hair color I was told that customer service would be happy to cancel my account for me! So that is what being a loyal fan of eSalon will get you! They lost a lifetime customer over 18.00!!! I was on repeat auto ship color every 5 weeks and recently began adding products to my orders and I was lied to about why I could not receive shampoo and conditioner at a reduced price and then when I expressed how this was handled poorly bc I received them a week before the color I was basically instructed on how to cancel my subscription. Need the lightening kit. It's one dimmensional.As a first time dying, it turned out far better than I expected. It has all over color, it has shine. Although I think the color I ordered is the actual color of my hair, when I look at it, it seems a shade darker than my normal color. I think that is because I normally have natural highlights in my hair and it is not just one color. So right now when I look at it, my hair looks dyed not natural. Not what I expectedI was so excited to try my color, but when I put in my color (followed the directions exactly the way it said), it barely made any difference. My second order I had them add more red and purple not realinzing it would be roots and ends. Again I followed the directions exactly as indicated and still no difference. Good process... not so good colour!I am a little disappointed by this product, especially as it was so much dearer than off the shelf dyes. The process was great and pretty straight forward. However, after two washes, the roots are a very warm (slightly orange) brown and the ends are a yellowy brown. Unfortunately I have had to revert to the shop bought dye and colour over it! Color Kit Fantastic!I colored my hair with the kit on May 19,2019, unfortunately the color was too dark and came out dark auburn very close to my own natural color however, that it not what I wanted. The gray is covered for now I liked the fact that everything I needed was in the kit,including an extra set of gloves. Difficulties for Disabled!!!!!When ordering for the first time I was unaware of what would be required as regards to doing the ROOT COLOURING BEFORE THE REST OF THE HAIR to match up the colour. Having the disability I have, unfortunately I am NOT able to do this. I started out LOVING this!!Yesterday I colored my hair with my Medium Brown Pearl Mahogany and I was absolutely pleased that even though it was brown (I was hoping for a more pronounced red. Glad I didn’t get it) it was multi tonal. I really loved that. Then today it sort of felt sticky and I felt I needed to wash it. Twice. I used cold water and color safe shampoo and through all that I still lost color and it seemed to be the purple and red that was in my color to begin with. It wasn’t all of it but I can already notice it’s lessened. Really disappointed as I know the potential for this color. I want to love it. I gave this product a chance and I am done. 2 more boxes arrived and I still can't get this cancelled. And yes I want my money back. Would be over $100 now. too redI just want a basic rich brown. Everything that you have sent me is pulling too much brassy red. You even sent a second color and it was more red than the first (although darker). Hair color recievedUnfortunately I am very dissatisfied with the color that was sent. The color that was sent is at least a few shades darker than my existing hair. I now have brown hair versus the blonde I desired. The highlights helped some. It this point i cannot recommend eSalon. Disappointing.I just received my second order, for $20 I got a small bottle for roots touch up instead of the full two bottles I would need to completely refresh the color for all my hair. I will have to use the ends touch up bottle I ordered separately, which is an extra cost, that should have gotten me to July, to get a full color done. I will be going to a salon supply store to match my color, and set up a subscription, which will be a fraction of the cost of Esalon. I understand you pay a little extra for the conveince of having everything you need to keep your color amazing delivered to your door, too bad you don't get all you need. Color is nothing like I described I wantedI noted several times I wanted a “yellow” blond. My first color was ashy. My second was a light dirty blond. I just colored my hair 3 days ago and it’s platinum blond, almost white. Didn’t listenThere was a promotion for $10 so I tried it. I submitted pictures of my hair as requested. The coverage was good but I didn’t like the color. It was a little darker than I wanted and a little brassy. I messaged them to let them know and I included pics of the color. They responded that they would send me a complimentary new color because they wanted me to like my hair color which I appreciated. Just received the color in the mail and it’s the exact same one as before so I decided to cancel my subscription. Update: After submitting my review they refunded all my money which was nice. Not RecommendedAs a natural redheaded, I just wanted the same color just more vibrant. I asked for a Copper blonde and they made me a RED AUBURN. Brown with red. It was all one color. I would have been fine with Orange. Copper isn't red or brown. It's orange and blonde. Also to note that the color DIDN'T cover my ultra blonde (Grey hairs). So it was Red Brown with white blonde hairs. Looks Horrible. The color was terrible and even after the past 2 weeks. The RED BROWN hasn't changed at all. I'm extremely disappointed. SMELL!!When I open the bottle the smell of ammonia was breathtaking and I don't mean that in a positive way. The color while pretty, is very red for my coloring and I said that I was a medium blond. The biggest problem I have is the smell it was so overpowering that I had to open all the windows on the bottom half of my house. Wrong colorThe color to cover regrowth was correct but they gave me another color for the older, previously colored hair and it was way too much red. Very disappointed since I did not want red. I wanted brown. I thought the bottle seemed like it had too much red. I am not sure if it was a combination of the wrong mix for the ends and maybe the wrong developing time. Didn’t change muchI’m kind of disappointed because I bought this dye going off of the image of how it said my hair color would turn out, and it barely changed at all. The only difference is that there’s a little more of a red color through it and only in the light, but it’s a very slight difference. I followed the directions carefully and did everything I was supposed to. Incorrect instructions. In tears after coloringI followed instructions precisely. I partitioned hair and brushed on color at roots and let sit for 20 minutes before applying the the remainder of my hair. Great customer service, not so great resultI was very impressed with the steps my stylist took to make this a personal experience and make sure we were on the same page as far as what I was going for. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE HORRIBLE COLORDon’t use this service. The pictures don’t reflect what your color will look like. Then when you say something they will give you an attitude, say they have “credited your account” and will send you something to help lighten it. Nothing happened. This was two months ago. I got better service and advice from YouTube. This was the worst experience and extremely frustrTing. My hair look like absolute crap and they had no solutions to help me. What a POS this company is. Gorgeous color; weird textureI've been using eSalon now for several months. I love the color and the kit; I hate the greasy texture of my hair after I use the product. The company keeps telling me that they are working the formula and that I should just use a bit of baking soda when I wash my hair to counteract this issue. To me that means the product is still in beta testing, not fully ready for production. Customers shouldn't have to use home remedy work-arounds for a flaw in the formula - not if you want them to pay full price and shipping. So I'm on the fence...I'd love to keep using the product, but I have to be careful about when I color my hair. If I do it too close to an important meeting when I want to style my hair, I have to wait because the greasy overlay prevents styling. Last time I had to color my hair one day, wash again the next and then style...too much work for this lady! Extremely difficult to wash out but nice colorSecond shipment, still followed directions and cannot understand why I have a gooey mess to wash out. I read all the reviews I could find for advice. Tried washing with cold water as well. I had to shampoo 2-3 times before my hair had no sticky residue, and certainly not enough shampoo in the package for washing out. I am going to switch to the highlight to see if I have the same problem. The color is very nice however the second time my hair felt straw like. Lighter regrowth than endsThis was my second time trying the coloring product. Again, my roots/outgrowth turned out far lighter than the rest of my hair strands. The color is completely uneven and now I don't even know what else to do but wait for it to relax on it's own....if it even will do that. I've told the mixing techs that I repeatedly have this trouble but for me this product does not work. It's thick and goes on and clings to the hair and that's a good thing, the packaging is a good thing - I think for other people it's a good thing. JUST not for me. Not the color I orderedI have always dyed my hair with blonde highlights. So my hair was a light blonde with darker blonde shades. I ordered medium golden blonde so my hair should still be blonde. Not for gray hair and it’s orangeI used my color for the first time today. I followed the instructions to the letter but all of my gray was still visible after drying my hair and my roots have an orange tint... I let my colorist know my hair tends to turn orange and that is a recurring issue I have. I also submitted a photo of my hair with the roots and gray showing. I'm sorry that I believed that this could work for me.First off, it was difficult for me to do my hair alone. If having to deal with 2 steps wasn't enough, the color on my roots came out a lighter red color, so I am disappointed that I trusted this to work for me. Not color I requestedI was really excited about this company, I purchased the color kit and the light set. It came super quick and packaging is amazing. I was emailed a few questions of my intentions. I replied with current photo and photo of what I was trying to achieve. Unfortunately, the base color came out super dark, not much like the picture I sent at all. My hair is naturally a soft black and I was hoping for a brown with copper tones in it and when the kit arrived, the color they formulated seems to have some copper in it on paper. However, after I dyed my hair, there was as very little change only to my roots. The rest of my hair looks black. I’m just upset because my hair had finally grown out to natural color, I don’t have white hair so I could have just kept my natural hair without adding chemicals if I wanted the same color. Mix OutcomesCustomer service great. comes in a cute little box, stain guard smells n feels lovely. Colour application was easy BUT THE COLOUR WAS COMPLETELY WRONG!
