Darker than AnticipatedMy hair came out much darker than I anticipated, or wanted it to be. I was looking for more of a summer color with more golden tones. I thought that where my highlights were, the color would be shaded differently than the areas where my hair was dark. It pretty much looks all the same color - much too dark. No good serviceIt is too easy the dark colour, but for blonde colours you do not want send to me and tell me that I must go to a hairdresser. If you are good colourist is been supossed that you could make an ash blonde, but you do not want to sell to me. Just like drugstore coloursVery unhappy with product, I started with a light brassy blonde going to meduim blonde and specifically noted avoid brassiness in clour and my hair looks identical to what i started with. Wrong colorI originally ordered a copper color. It came out more brownish then reddish as in picture! I reordered with the color suggest and got a dark brown instead of a reddish/copper! Just so-so.This color does not seem significantly better than regular boxed home hair dye I have used in the past. I purchased the highlights kit and can't even tell I used it. Severe Chemical BurnsDidn't use right away, waited til my hair needed coloring, which means I still have 2 unopened shipments. Unfortunately I loved this color, but got severe chemical burns from it. I tried to make arrangements to return my other unopened shipments, but was told they are not eligible, even though I got a severe reaction from it. Half in love.I really do like the simplicity of this process and how I was able to apply myself. I am in love with the color chosen for me but I have one big problem with the results- my grays are still gray! I applied on them first, per the instructions. I don't have many but the placement of the ones I do have are visable with my hair up or down. One of the main reasons I wanted to change things up was to cover the grays. Wrong color, drying, and not enoughI specifically told them I hate violet reds and always use orange reds to color my hair. They sent me a violet red. I went ahead and used the kit because I was out of time and out of options and I figured: a color I don’t love is better than the grown out mess I have. WRONG! I ran out of color with 1/4 of my hair left to go. Half of my head is shaved and I ran out of color. I chose the longest hair option you can choose, knowing how much hair I have, and I still ran out of color. This whole experience has been a nightmare. Terrible experienceThe first time I ordered my hair color, I followed their directions, when I went to wash out the dye, spots wouldn't come off leaving my scalp and hair sticky and dye coming off on my hands from me running my hands through it. I chalked it up as not scrubbing enough, I had long nails at the time and didn't want to break them. So, I jumped back into the shower with a scrub brush and scrubbed the shit outta my scalp. Didn't help. Over time as the dye faded and my hair grew, it worked itself out. The color turned out great and my hair was shiny and felt healthy so I ordered from them again. Dyed my hair yesterday, this time, my nails are short so I was able to scrub my scalp real good to get the dye out. As I'm relaxing I notice what happened last time, dye was stuck to my scalp and hair again, this time much worse. So jump in the shower and scrub with a brush and brought a comb with. Nothing. This stuff does not come off! I've been in the shower three times trying to scrub this hair dye out. I scrubbed so hard my scalp was bleeding. After doing this over an hour sobbing from hurt and frustration, I gave up. Never again with I put myself through this bullshit! I've never had this issue with box dye. I'll also fork out over 100 bucks going to an actual salon so I don't have to go through this again. I'm stuck with sticky nasty hair and my scalp hurts. Nothing intense about itI was excited to try my new colour as I loved the idea of this. I am honestly so disappointed with the result. Intense copper i asked for is a boring Auburn. Nice shiny Auburn but there is not a hint of intense anything. In fact I get better results from a £4 or £5 box dye. Really hoped to be happy with this colour but unfortunately this will be the one and only purchase for me. Custom Color Set-Fell a little FlatThe odor from the ammonia was nauseating. I actually worried about potential health risks because the odor was so strong. I opened all my windows and decided I would try one application before I decided either way. The color didn't have any shine. Unlike when I go into the salon for a semi-permanent color it was very flat and my hair didn't feel soft. I am not sure that I will continue with this product. Missing ItemsI have been using eSalon for quiet a while and have been very pleased with the product. My box includes instructions, "mixing bottle with cap", color, box with 2 pair of gloves, stain remover, stain guard, shampoo, and "conditioner". This recent purchase did not have all of the following. Upon opening the box, I immediately noticed that the mixing bottle did not have the top on it, and instead of a shampoo and condition, I received 2 shampoos. I truly enjoy using the shampoo and conditioner because it makes my hair feel and smell amazing, but I was not able to use it this time due to not having it in the box. I am glad that I did clean and save a bottle from a previous order and was able to use the top from the other bottle. Hair color turned out terribleI ordered what it was supposed to be medium blond with a few copper highlights in it and my hair turned out dark Auburn. Completely opposite of what I was looking for. And if a person compared it to the picture I picked out the color I picked out is like night and day. Completely completely different. I am completely dissatisfied with this I look terrible! I won't be getting this again! The people were really nice and answered all my questions in the beginning. But they have you go through and answer a bunch of questions so they can get an idea what you are looking for and have you pick out a color that you want. Not quite my colorI finally used my color kit. It has good instructions, & I think the product is good. I wanted to cover my gray hair mostly, but didn't want to darken my natural color. I am somewhat disappointed that my med blonde turned out too dark -- almost brown. I don't want this color again. I guess I'm not med. blonde, but lighter. Still WAY too dark..This is my 2nd time using eSalon and both times I have hated my color. It didn't come out AT ALL the way I was expecting it to. I didn't want to write a semi-negative review from just 1 use..so I decided to wait for my "adjusted" color after consulting with my colorist through my account. Didn't help at all. Very disappointed. I wanted SO badly to like this. The only EXTREMELY POSITIVE thing I have to mention (which is why I gave it as many stars as I did) is how well it covers my grays.. If I could ever get the color I really wanted, I'd have zero issue using eSalon. An additional comment, which really has nothing to do with eSalon but just home color in general... It is much harder to do the color yourself than some will lead you to believe, especially if you have very long hair like mine. Hair dye chemicalsThis is the 3rd time ordering, the smell is so intense. I dont know if you have changed the ingredients but I dyed my hair 2 days ago and twice I felt the chemicals actually burn inside my nostrils. Since then I have the most severe migraine. It actually feels like my brain is throbbing. I am never someone that suffers with headaches and the grey coverage is definitely not worth this pain! It's pretty worrying to think what is inside this dye to have my body react in this way. Reached out about color mess up and never heard backMy first ever order and I love the packaging and fast shipping, however, I ordered a brown with copper tones and the color took beautifully at my roots but left the ends discolored and with a purplish tint. My hair looks multiple colors and I can't even wear it down. I emailed the woman who mixed my color with attached photos of the complete color difference between the ends and roots. Way too dark!My color kit came with two formulas, one for my roots and one for the rest of my hair. My root area turned out black, when it was suppose to be a chocolate brown color. I have LOVED esalon up to this time.I have had perfect success with esalon to date but the color give me was a little darker than I like so I asked them to make it a little lighter. Problem is, it is not covering the gray as well. Maybe something was wrong with this batch, I will try again but am very disappointed with the lighter shade. Dark Blonde turned Dark Red-Brown - UGH!After detailing i hadnt colored my hair in many years but remembered i had alot of red tones resulting previously, the colorist made a special potion just for me. Worst color ever.1st color great dark blonde. 2 color went dark red, I complained so sent 3rd color. It went bright red. I complained so got sent a toning mask. It took out every blond highlight that was left and went an even horrible color. Will never use your product again. Too Dark & AllergyI purchased the dark brown color & yet it came out pitch black. Then after a day, I started to develop an allergic reaction. I’ve used numerous hair dyes in the past & have never had an allergy to any of them. Unfortunately, I now have itchy red bumps along my hairline and ear, and also some elsewhere on the scalp. I’m not completely sure if this was cause by the dye, the stain guard, or a combination. Hair feels horribleI really do not like how my hair feels after using the product. I issued the shampoo and conditioner supplied and it just feels awful. It almost feels like damaged hair and it dried dry and like their is product still on it. I have used home dyes before so know how to completely remove all trace of dye. The colour is a little brassy at the roots which has also disappointed me as especially mentioned that I needed to avoid that so deliberately chose an Ash colour. Custom colour setThis is my third order. The first order was excellent with covering greys although a little too dark in tone. The second order was horribly darker and I was upset as I requested a lighter shade which was not possible as they were afraid that my roots would go orange in colour, so I was sent the same tonality that had to be applied to the roots only. I followed the instructions, but upon washing the product out not only I was left with a horrible waxy residue; I was darker in shade all over. The third time, it seems I’ve been given a slightly lighter shade, my hair is still wet so I don’t know how it will turn out, however, a horrible waxy residue is left on my hair. It’s sticky and greasy and the last time it took three days to wash out. I’ve put my next order on hold for the moment. eSalon Color turns my hair RedI tried eSalon because I’m on meds for RA & since taking them every brand of dark blonde boxed color turns my hair Red! I thought eSalon would work because When I go to the salon my hair turns out just like I want it. So I figured if eSalon colors custom made for me & it’s from a Salon then I should get Salon results, Right?? Nope... first 2 eSalon orders turned my hair Red! I tried to cancel but they offered to change my color at no charge but even the new color turned out Red! Thankfully I had ordered their highlights, which are great & I did Balayage & it hid a lot of the Red! Not ExactlyAfter some back and forth with the stylist, I was hoping for more for the "natural blonde" displayed on the site...What I got appears to have more red tones, than blonde. Color fadedI had such high hopes for this product. I chose medium brown and although the color was lovely in the beginning, it began to fade after the second shampoo, even though I used the color shampoo and conditioner that was provided in the kit. Didn’t like the productsColor continuously way darker than desired. Makes my hair feel horrible, dried out and snarly. I asked for lighter, when done, my hair was almost black again.The first order I got was insanely red. I couldn't use it. You guys were happy to send a replacement package at no extra charge, which I appreciate, but the replacement was super dark.
