FailedFinally used the product last week, June 10, 2020. Not happy with the product because it left my hair dry (the conditioner wouldn't even soften it up) & it didn't cover the gray for long. I followed the directions, this is not the first time hair color was done at home. I specifically stated that my hair turns gray 3 weeks into color. This time after 4 days, the front of my hair was white, the color disappeared. Not happy with the product. Not for me...This is my 3rd colour order. After the first 2 my greys are still untouched and my hair is dry and brittle. My colour was amended and developing time lengthened but still no difference. I can't fault the team for customer service and commitment to trying to get it right, they went above and beyond. Unfortunately no instructions for very short/pixie hairstyles to help with sectioning hair etc (I found this very frustrating) I have used the esalon shampoo and conditioner religiously and do the once a week conditioning retreat, but the condition of my hair after colouring has been terrible. Also the amonia/chemical smell was overpowering (my bathroom window open and extractor fan on the whole time) All of which means that no matter how much I want this to be great.... Roots not fully covered, greys still visibleIt made my lockdown hair look better but didn't quite do the job. Greys still visible and roots look diff colour to ends, but it looks OK. Loved it, until...I was impressed with the color when I first did the application, although I didn’t notice my hair was any softer or less frizzy than using a store bought color. But, I was happy and ready to continue. It is two weeks post color and my grays are horrid! I have never had a hard time covering grays before and I look like it’s been 8 weeks since I colored my hair. I am willing to give Esalon one more shot to see if maybe the first one was a fluke. I am a licensed hairstylist but loved the picture of the pearlized copperI loved the color this was supposed to be. I loved the way the system was set up and the directions. It started out too dark, made my hair feel strawlike, but this is old lady hair I am dealing with. The color faded quickly at the roots but left my ends dark. I will have to work at getting it back to where it was before I used it. Also as it faded it looked ash, seriously ashy, which isn't copper even pearlized copper it is just dull ashy brown hair. I do not want to continue receiving, I have tried to call and cancel as it was auto deducted from my paypal. I was glad to try it out, but not something I want to continue. Not worth itI was really excited to receive my colour and was looking to achieve a light ash blonde root. The colour was not what i requested and made my hair even more golden. I would have saved money by getting a box dye from the shop as this was the same result. Loved the color, not the fade!I chose a color and the stylist adjusted the color, so I went with their suggestion. I actually LOVED the color after I immediately colored my hair. Way different than expectedMy hair came out WAY too dark. It seems nearly black. My natural color is light brown to dark blonde. I was sent a shade of dark brown. This was definitely not what I was expecting when I normally dye it a light copper mahogany. Now I need to figure out how to fix it. I was looking more for a light shade of copper red blonde. A little disappointed.I ordered a custom color kit and wrote so many notes and attached pictures of the exact color I wanted to have my hair. I didn’t receive any guidance, advice, or any concern from the colorist assigned to me, and the mixture seemed way too generic, not realizing my concerns at all. I followed all of the instructions provided, but the overall application was just patchy and didn’t cover all of the brassy and coppery colors, and actually added too much gold in my hair. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!I have been waiting weeks for my order and have still not received it. I finally received a tracking number a few days ago. It was delivered to Burlington, ON depot which is 1 hour away from my home. Now it is on its way to Richmond, BC, which is a 6 hour plane ride away!!! When I called to inquire with customer service they said to call back next week!! They would not call the shipping company to look into it. Farbresultat sehr gut, aber.....Als ich meine neue Farbe gemischt hatte, habe ich tatsächlich überlegt, ob ich mir das auf meine Haare tue: Der Ammoniak- Gestank war so heftig, dass mir die Augen und die Nasenschleimhäute brannten. Mit dem Farbresultat bin ich sehr zufrieden und Gottseidank hat diese stinkende Lösung mein Haar nicht angegriffen. Easy to do but color is no good!So the kit came packaged nicely. It was very easy to do. However, after coloring my hair I noticed no gold undertones in which I requested when making the formula (which was dark brown with golden tones) Lastly, the color started really fading in about 3 weeks and has more of a reddish tint. My hair almost looks like it did before I colored it. Not at all the color requested.I asked to lighten up to a strawberry blonde, similar to Nicole Kidman’s color. The colorist adjusted my order to a different color than I requested, and now my hair is darker than it was before I started - it came out more like a Susan Sarandon color only without as much red tones. Average Provider at BestQuarantine times call for home hair color. I am usually a salon goer and trust the professionals who have honed their craft but have had to turn to home color during quarantine. I saw esalon on Instagram and decided to try it out. The product was fine but faded fast. I wish the turnaround time for shipping was as fast as the color fade! During normal shipping conditions, be prepared to wait a LONG time (1.5-2 weeks) for a reorder of the exact same product I had ordered originally. Product not receivedI cannot give a good rating because I have not received my order yet. On May 29th, Sprintstar sent me an email indicating that I refused my order. This is so false. I was home all day and no one had never been here. I called the delivery company and had left a message with the receptionist to have some one call me. She took my phone number and told me that some one will call me back. As of today, I have not received any calls. Please review this situation and let me know how to proceed. Color doesn’t stickThe quiz method is not very accurate. I mentioned my hair turns extremely red orange or brassy when I color it. And of coarse my hair turned orange. The whole process was very messy and drippy. I colored my hair using the bottle method. Unfortunately I live at high elevation so both of the bottle lids were cracked upon arrival causing a lot of the product to be wasted. Esalon was kind enough to send a new color. I recolored my hair following their instructions but the color did not stick. Overall I would never use esalon to color my hair and I do not recommend them. Expected more noticeable changeThis was the first time I colored my hair myself. I've gotten my hair colored before at a salon so I knew basically what I wanted to do but I was still nervous! The directions were easy to follow and videos were helpful. However, I wasn't very excited about the end results. I didn't notice much of a change in my hair color. Natural hair color is light to medium brown and the color I ordered was medium brown (intense pearl). I was expecting more of the violet color to come through, which I didn't see and even overall the brown didn't seem to get any darker. I know it's hard to see from the small color swatch they put online, but it really felt like my natural color was just matched, and I notice some color change if I was outside in the sun. Perhaps part user error, but I felt like I explained what results I was hoping for, and even sent in photos of my natural color. I like the fact that there is a real person creating a custom color for me, but I was disappointed with the end results. The final color was fine, it just wasn't really what I wanted, I was looking for more of a change. DisappointingThis was my second time using eSalon. The first time everything was perfect. This time....not so much. I placed the order on a Thursday and for a week the message on the site stated "your stylist is working on your color". After a week I received the "your order has shipped" however when I checked the tracking info it just stated that the package was on the way to a shipping facility. I recognize that shipping is delayed currently due to the virus and this may not have totally been your delay. When the package arrived I opened it to find that it was missing the shampoo, conditioner, and - most importantly- the brush. Not a good color matchI intentionally gave you the brand name and number of the product I was using that was the color I like on my hair. What you send me was lacking in the red coloring of the Auburn. So the color you sent is really more brown than Auburn on my hair. My hair is more dry since I use this product. Rather disappointed. Ginger orange 😞Unfortunately my hair came out gingery orange, I was very disappointed and upset that I put a box set over it darker which I don’t line but it was soo finery orange, I have enclosed a photo to show you in my account, it ended up far worse than it was. Coverage of grey/white hair Failed to cover rootsFollowed directions very closely. Once hair was thoroughly covered with product left on for 30 minutes. Applied remainder of color with water and massaged into hair before showering. Perhaps it doesn't work on short coarse hair. Or it needs to be on longer than 30 minutes. Unhappy with color and customer service!I was so excited to finally color my hair after going gray, post-chemo. The color was too light and my roots around my face still looked gray. I emailed immediately to ask how soon I could re-dye or touch up my hair. That was almost three weeks ago, and I still haven't gotten a response. I went into my account to cancel my next order and was offered free color for the next time. I was told I would be contacted by, "my colorist" to discuss the color. No overall color or grey coverageWhen I had my color custom made I specifically stated I wanted my hair all one color since I was still growing out at balayage. I was sent to different shades and I also stated my hair was prone to turning red which it did. Did not like the golden colorI was sent the same color as I had when I started with you a while ago. I stopped getting it and thought I would try again. My hair is dark brown (I mean dark dark brown) I just wanted it a little lighter, the girl sent me the same thing as before. I even sent her a picture of my hair. My hair is still 2 different colorsI colored my hair and ended up having hot roots. I contacted esalon via email twice, and no response. I finally called and was put on the phone with a colorist that said "easy fix" and another kit was sent to me. I was excited to have this "easy fix" but my roots are still a different color that the rest of my hair, they just aren't orange. Disappointed. I have to see a professional to fix. This is the first time this has ever happened and now I am very hesitant to even color my hair again myself. Not satisfiedThe top of my hair is very yellow on top. When I first color it looks good after 4 weeks it starts turning gray and yellow on top at the roots by week 5 it’s all yellow and gray mix. Not better than box dyeI sent in a photo so the colorist could see what my hair looked like. Clearly due to quantitative, there was alot of grey. I requested a all over color, dark brown, no black. What I got was patchy coverage of the grey in the back and sides of my head, and 1 side of grey coverage above my forehead. I am left with random light brown patches where color didnt work, the grey wasnt covered and black hair from my neck down and dark brown color on my head. I have used box dye in the past and it has never left patches and inconsistent color coverage. So I assumed eSalons product would be of superior quality and wouldn't have any issues. At the worst, I thought I wouldn't like the color. Never did I expect the mess I got. Now I have to spend more money for a color correction to fix this. It started pinkish light brown ...So it's turn it out pretty good initially, as I was going for a pinkish light brown/dark blond... But now it's turned into this very copper-ish darker brown that I don't like. This color changed too much, despite me purchasing their shampoo/rinse & tint to use in between washes. And unfortunately they shipped yesterday the same color... I think I just wanna go back to my own color which was a Light ash Brown. Ups and downsPackaged really well and arrived quickly, lovely touches having my name on the bottles extra. A little disappointed with the colour I’m definitely a mid to dark brunette instead of dark blonde. Very chocolatey which is really not what I wanted. I wanted to cover brassy tones in my blonde hair by going a little darker and now I’m not even close to blonde. I had a very very brief phone call on an American number from which I was disconnected twice and simply told I wasn’t going to be the colour I’d chosen but I’d still be blonde. All in all a really great product and service but clarity on the colour needs to be more of a focus as in my case I’ve now essentially ruined four years of salon treatments going blonde. Still left with dark roots - waste of timeI purchased a permanent dye plus an ends refresh. The ends worked well - colours good, vibrant, but I think that the eSalon colour is trading off the good work of my normal salon. The roots which are around 10/15cm were a failure - there’s no visible change to my hair unless you shine a bright light on my head. In daylight there is still an obvious place where my roots end and my original colour began. When I placed my order, I provided photos of my hair colour taken by my stylist several months ago as a guide, so I don’t understand the failure. I’ve messaged my colourist and sent photos to show why I’m disappointed, but I’ve not had any response. Rich package, poor productI was so anxious to see the amazing results using two different shades on my hair, one for the roots and one for the length, that I got extremely excited to open the beautiful package when it arrived in my house. I used it while recording a video to post online, so sure it’d work! Poor me. I’ve ended up with an orange root and a red hair. It didn’t color my whites (and a have just a few of them here and there), and it has left my hair heavy and dry for a few days. Really disappointed. I really wanted this to have worked out, but it was a complete disaster! Not 100% happyUnderneath is a different colour and the top of my head is still grey but lighter. The photos I uploaded look like I'm blonde but I'm grey as most of my hair now is grey except underneath. I didn't need a refresh as I had virtually no colour in my hair except for underneath and a few strands. I hope it works next time as I will cancel if not. I had high hopes for esalon. AwfulI have used esalon in years past and I used to love it. However starting up again last month using the product, it’s awful, I followed directions exactly and yet after I washed my hair Thoroughly there were still black patches all over my scalp and when I touched my head I had black all over my fingers it was awful. Not good for gray hairsI asked for dark brown with copper color to do an ombre. The combination worked but unfortunately my gray hairs did not take the colors both dark brown and copper. Great idea, poor execution...My low rating is more for my overall experience and not judging the product. My color goals are just not possible with an at-home approach. The coloring products quality were really nice and deserve a 5/5 rating. The instructions however were confusing and I do not feel like it was as effective as it could me. I confirmed this with a color specialist. The instructions get a 2/5 rating. Take my opinion with a grain of salt.
