This dye did not work.After using this to cover my last dye that was more red than I wanted each time I washed my hair the towel used to dry it came off covered in dye. The result is I am back to the red that I wanted to cover. My daughter who studied hairdressing at college applied it so I know that it was done correctly. Brassy lookingThis was my third time using esalon and the result this time wasn’t good. My hair had distinct brassy tones. I contacted customer service for assistance in correcting the problem and after a full day I received a reply that basically suggested I buy more dye. Brassy and dark balance is off!Was at a 9 Blonde light in color and they would not match me they sent me a 8 medium (a whole year of work gone ) to a dark color with red and yellow tones. Was told ( afterwards sending me a second box that made my hair darker) they could not match my color! Was told they would not go lighter than two tones of your natural color but that wasn’t the color I had. The pro side is they answer the phone every time you called. The con they can’t match the color you have regardless of pictures they should’ve just been upfront about it. I just went out and I was asked if I was a red head! Didn't work wellI am disappointed with the eSalon color, partly my own fault. Pros; super easy to use, everything was included in the kit, kit was beautifully packaged, color was exactly what I ordered. Cons: the color I ordered was too dark and didn't look like a natural color. I chose the color and unfortunately, choosing from a small color online, I choose the wrong color. After washing my hair the second time I noticed that grey was showing already in my temples. I don't know if my hair just doesn't hold the color or the color doesn't stay on grey hair. I'm a senior and even perms don't hold the way they used to so it may be my hair. FadedI’ve recieved several orders with e-salon and all were easy and great and within a couple of weeks they were faded even though I’ve gotten permenent. Within a few days of using this new dye my hair faded back to its previous color. UnhappyThe color is nothing like my natural hair color or like the picture I sent. It’s about 3-4 shades darker. Also, the few gray hairs I do have were not covered by the dye and with my hair now being almost black they show up even more! Easy to use but didn't cover greysEasy to use and a lovely color. Disappointed with the results overall. I have dark hair with a few greys which sadly weren't covered by the color. Tried two goes with the root cover sets but still no good. Doesn’t work-I tried my original hair color late because I had already used one. I wanted to let my grays grow out a little bit so I could really see the benefits from this color. Finally used it… And it made my hair super brassy and brown nowhere close to my dark black and my grays showed up within 24 hours after I had colored it. Follow the instructions to a T. It’s far as I’m concerned it’s no different than what’s out on the market and the drug stores. Then,I tried to cancel my subscription online because I forgot I signed up because it had such great reviews. Sadly my hair actually turned really brassy instead of my roots turning blue like they typically do on my grays they turned light brown, so I tried to cancel it and then unbeknownst to me. I should’ve put my mailbox and they’ve run my credit card again, even though I requested the cancellation. That’s what I call. Great customer service. Keep on sending people product that they don’t want and charging their credit cards. Definitely would not recommend being a wardrobe stylist and personal stylist. I would never suggest to any of my clients, so please stop charging my credit card. Resulted in brassy hairI was hoping to color the few gray hairs I have and lighten one shade, but the end result was brassy and many of my grays didn't color. Color lasted only 10 days!!I ordered black hair color. Thats what I got but after 10 days the color faded to medium/light golden brown. Not a happy camper!!! Will not use this product again!! 5/7/23 - Maggie, one of the colorists, emailed me last week. We discussed the quick fading, and she corrected the issue. Not very pleasedI finally tried my custom care color. I was not pleased. It was very messy to apply. Mixture was very thin and watery. When rinsing off the color it took forever for it to run clear The color was just ok. The hair is softer but it did not have a sheen I won't be ordering it again I also would have liked including a cap with the kit to use while waiting after application of color. NeverWithin a month my hair color was reddish brown not a good color on me. Also I never agreed to autoship now I have a product I don’t want can’t use and out whatever you charged me. I cancelled the autoship I don’t know why I am surprised by anything your company says. Not the color I had hoped forI had requested a copper/auburn color in level 5. My hair turned out to be so dark and more brown than anything (almost like a cherry cola). I also lost a tremendous amount of hair. I asked for a full refund and to stop my service, which in 2 days I got a reply to. The response I got in regard to the hair loss was that it was not normal, and I should see a doctor. Like, what? I have died my hair for the last 20 some years, and have NEVER had hair loss like that. It is clearly something to do with the formula, and not something to see a doctor about. Also, the health care system is burdened, why on earth would ANYONE suggest going to the doctor for post hair dye hair loss. As someone working in Healthcare, this is not a reason to come in. In reality, esalon should take accountability. Additionally, because my hair ended up so dark, I had to lighten it, and then dye it the shade I wanted to begin with. I had chemicals in my hair 3x vs 1x had this actually been the color requested. Don't waste your time or money. Go to the salon ir buy boxed dye. The funny thing is that after leaving my review, a support person reached out with the same auto generated comment that my initial hair color comment also received. Thus supporting that this is not an 'individualized' hair product. It's cooperate greed. I have edited this after the comment below was posted. Poor Grey Coverage AND REDISH!!!I spoke to the very pleasant colorist but the more I think about it and past experiences with other box and “services” I just don’t understand why such a REDDISH TINT! It is soo disturbing! I have tried for the light brown/dark blond before and never gotten this much red! The one really bad area of NO GREY COVERAGE at my middle top split has never happened either and I believe and also figured out with the colorist is because (as in the past) I should keep it on longer that 30min! I knew 30 was too short but I figured maybe your color is extra specially made and different didn’t need all that time. I appreciated the second complimentary color when the first was wayyyy to dark but I just don’t understand even with the uploaded pics it keeps getting so wrong? If the colorist needs a picture of what I want that she should have asked for that in the beginning. Now I have a formula that is wayyy off and a grey patch I am supposed to figure out what to do with and wait for my next delivery because I can’t purchase right now and really to purchase a while kit for one patch seems like a waste. I don’t even know how to continue using this service? There seems to be a miscommunication and constant increasingly errors. I want a light brown without a prominent tint PERIOD. If I have to gradually lighten more with highlights than I understand that. But please try and get it as less red and cool as possible. If u need a pic of what I am talking about besides all the pics I uploaded from the first than let me know. My shade is a medium brown. So as light from that as possible w AS LITTLE RED AS POSSIBLE! AGAIN IF NOT POSSIBLE than just say so please. I was really excited about this service. Maybe another colorist? I really like Yvette. Maybe it was just confusion. The timeing was an error on “your” part I believe. STYLISTS DO AS THEY PLEASE!!!Stylist did not listen to my request. I told her I did NOT want the dark blonde instead I wanted something else. Worst hair color I have ever usedWhoever the person who makes what color was should get fired. I’ve never had the worst result in my entire life of dying my hair for 15 years. I was pretty unhappy with charges and an automatic reorder when not requested.The above says it all. I was under the impression you could try it for 10.00 as in the come-on ad. But not be charged 38.44 for each shipment I wanted to be happy with the color first. This seemed pretty deceptive to me. It winds up it's too dark and looks even black in some areas. Doesn’t cover greyI’ve subscribed and tried the product twice, and while the colour shade and match isn’t bad ( maybe not as nice as a box dye I’ve used before) it simply doesn’t cover grey. I have dark brown hair and I opted for the full permanent (and not the natural grey demi coverage option) and still I’m left with a weird orangey colour halo in my parting where the grey hair was - and with some bits just sparkling away still grey on my hairline. Fine on the non-grey hair and leaves a nice colour finish, but the “permanent” gives grey coverage that is certainly worse than a semi permanent box colour would cover. So disappointed, I now will have to try and fix it with a box dye to fade out these areas. Would have got a better result with a cheap L’Oréal box dye kit. Also, side point, the shampoo and conditioner is such a pathetic amount for my long hair. Need to use my own, as i imagine it’s only enough for someone with up to shoulder length fine hair, if that, not very custom. Such a shame. I wanted to remove the brassiness but this hasn't done thatI am really disappointed. I've used esalon about 4 times before and have been super happy each time. I wanted to go one - two shades darker and remove the brassiness. It's not as dark as I wanted but thats definitely my fault for being cautious. My issue is that my hair is just as brassy as it was before - my precious colours have always removed this.
