I requested brighterThis is very dull with a hint of red. I was thinking more Addison Sheperd from Gray's anatomy or a brighter and bold red brown with still warm undertones. YuckWhen I stared with the company we worked on the color. It didn’t take long before we got the color I wanted and the softness and shine It was even better than I thought it would be. After several years passed something changed. My package was the same but not the results. Were different. Now my hair is dry and unmanageable. But my color stays the same. That’s the only reason I stay with the company. Ido not recommend this company to any one. Again my hair is so dry dry I could only keep it in a bun. Customer service shipped out a week late then blamed on meI knew I was going to have a tight timeline so I planned to have a shipment a month in advance. My custom color was shipped out on August 28th when I scheduled it for August 21st. Even with the 1-3 day processing time this was by all means late. I was berrated and argued with by an unempathetic customer agent. I’m doing a cross country move and now am going to be 4 weeks past due by fault of esalons logistics. Pathetic color outputI used the color on my hair before such an important event.I washed my hair after color and saw, that My roots were still all white and gave a red color shade just as henna.I was so embarrassed at the event as everyone was laughing on me that what I had done to my hair.And the hair became so rough and entangled. Color is completely wrongI don’t like to leave negative reviews but this color is nowhere what I thought I’d be getting and it’s way too expensive to be this far off. I don’t know what caused it, if it’s the color design or the product, but I was supposed to have a copper/auburn and my hair is basically maroon. My roots are almost black. I get color closer to what I want for $8 at Target, and now I’m stuck with this unless I want to fry my hair even more. Really expected better for the price. Disappointed with the colourThe colour turned out to be nothing like what I ordered. Permanent colorI asked for no ammonia and they never looked at the last comments and proceeded to give me ammonia in my color. Not what I expectedI ordered the color in light brown. I did a strand test, but apparently it wasn’t enough to show that it would turn my hair a dark auburn. It’s not a bad color, but not what I expected. I wanted to just cover the gray with my natural color, which is what I ordered. Just okayWasn't as happy with the color as I thought I would be, After 3 days I had grays showing again. I also noticed in the shower how bad it stripped my hair of any moisture. It didn't leave my hair feeling good at all. I however loved the convenience of the whole thing it just seemed easy to mix and apply. I did not like how long it had to stay on my head but hopefully it's because the stuff in it was more gentle (I don't know) sure did not smell that way. I am just being completely honest. There was nothing that made me think this was any different from store bought products besides the price being more expensive. Excellent colour, but doesn’t lastI was excited to try this as I’ve been using box dyes since I was a teenager and had never quite found the right fit. The instructions are clear and the resulting colour is excellent and exactly what I wanted. But I’m sad to say by the time the refresher came around my whole head needed doing again :( not sure if it’s due to the summer sun or what but a refresher doesn’t quite cut the mustard. Missed the markWas the first attempt at a color change. It’s definitely more blonde with the added gold but I that canceled out the copper for the red in the photos I sent. It’s just blonde now, no red/strawberry at all. I’d like to order early for the next try but would like to hear how you’d like to change it to fit the strawberry blonde color better. DisappointedI was hoping to touch up my ginger roots. Usually i go to the salon and get a nice orange like ginger color like really nice red head. And now I just fucked up my hair with this custom color. I filled everything in on how i would like it to be and in the end I am stuck with a fucking orange ish brown. You can still see where i had my grown out roots and overall it’s not at all what i requested. So just gonna have to go to the actual salon and not this basically more expensive online drugstore alike box hair dye 🥲. Definitely do not recommend for ginger colours. Tried it twice, wasn't niceI got the offer that came with 2 sets of color. The first application, I followed the instructions, and my roots actually ended up lighter somehow. It did make my overall hair shiny though. Tried the second application today, kept color on for 45 minutes, and my roots still didn't get to the "dark brown ash" color. HATEI’ve been in tears for an hour my colour followed to the letter of the instructions is hideous, it’s just vile, it’s going to cost me a fortune to get fixed , I’m going to have to strip it out several times it’s nothing like even the written colour diagram. Not greatI followed the instructions very carefully my hair came out with lovely roots and the rest of my hair lighter. bit of an expensive way to trial something out. made my roots darkerHi, this was my first time trying eSalon. I was so excited to give this a try and was truly impressed with the way eSalon works. However, I just tried the kit that I was sent and I'm devastated. The color I was sent was too dark. it didn't lighten my roots at all!! In fact my roots are now darker (very dark brown). I can't find any customer support on this website, so i'm not sure how I can contact the specialist. I have an important work trip at the end of the week and I have no idea how I'm going to fix my hair by then. i have blonde highlights, with extremely dark roots now. Medium brown which was Not for my hair unfortunately.My natural hair is dark brown. I got medium brown Made my roots light and my hair very dark, twice. First time I thought maybe i got wrong color, expressed my concerns and got a different formula which lifted my Roos but made my hair now almost black instead of medium brown. It might be just not for my hair type. Very disappointed since I had had high expectations from this product. On the fence - still orange/pumpkinish hairI decided to try this product as the box products gave my hair an cinnamon with a bit orange or brassy tone that popped up on occasion. I can't always tell by looking at my own hair, but I immediately noticed cinnamon along parts plus the first comment out of my sister's mouth was "your hair is orange." I ordered a darker color, more brownish with ash, not because I want brown hair but because I'd hoped it wouldn't have the gold tones that appear to turn orange/pumpkin/red tones. I'm not sure if I'll order again as the results are following the same trend. The color isn't horrendously bad, but it makes me nervous if I can't see all of my hair, wondering what everyone else sees, when I already dislike having pumpkin hair! I appreciate the dye cleaner as I ended up using it on my skin as well on the walls which were hit with past hair dye experiences. The box is nice, and the customer support dept. was responsive with very fast response when I emailed regarding my concern about instructions noting to use on my roots only (I'm not sure why just roots - they said I could use on all of my hair, but the sections other than the roots would be darker - I ended up with darker roots but not darker on the rest of my hair.). Good dye, but totally wrong colour matchI wanted a red to dye my hair in between salon visits. I picked esalon as all box dye for red hair is just vibrant red and I wanted my more subtle coppery tone. I matched to the copper I wanted and I was sent a root colour and lengths. My roots are now a totally different colour to my length. The roots look great, but the length is the bright neon red I didn’t want. Easy, good color coverage, just not the color I wantInstructions are great - videos are amazing. It was so easy. Took me an hour, start to done and dry. My hair is so soft and shiny. Unfortunately I don’t love the color - the tone came out very yellow, almost orange on my natural blonde, which was my biggest fear. Hoping to find a way to get in touch with someone so I don’t have to live orange until my next color shipment. Not fully covering my gray white hairUpdate: After a day of coloring my hair (8/12/24) the color was totally washed out and I felt I have more gray hair. I wished I can send you an updated pic and vid of my hair to correct the color before sending to me again. I followed all instructions including time but still not covered with the color I received. Felt it just wash the color away when I washed my hair. Tried for the 2nd time and still the same. After the 2nd order, I stopped already. Harsh for my once healthy hairI had beautiful healthy auburn shiny hair. I thought I’d try this after hearing about, pckg so cute, easy to use, liked the color at first, but after first wash faded, not enough grey coverage and hair started falling out. Dull and lifelessI wanted some of the brassiness to go down and what the result was is a very dull grayish brown looking color. I had actually noted that my first color was probably the best and to go back to that one. Nice colorThe reason I gave a rating of 3 is because the color only lasts 3 to 4 weeks. I was hoping for at least six weeks. Doesn't cover gray 100 percent. Positives are good customer service and everything needed is in the box. It is pricey because you have to add shipping cost. Do not purchase if you have long and thick hairDo not purchase if you have long and thick hair - I didn't had enough product to do my whole head even though I mention in the form that I had extra long hair + thick hair. I also send a note right after receiving the box mentioning that and the message I got back was: "Your first order with us contained two bottles of hair color. One bottle for your roots and one complimentary color refresher for your ends. This was to ensure your first application of hair color was seamless from root to tip. And your future orders will contain one bottle of dye to use as a root touch up. Pretty Color NOT for gray coverageThe color is beautiful, the packaging, instructions and little details are exquisite, but all around my roots it did not cover my grays, and even fully rinsed out of some places. nothing like the colour I was expecting.I’m no stranger to packet dyes and followed the instructions to the letter but I’ve ended up with a dark reddish auburn and not the golden strawberry blonde I asked for. Thank goodness it is the type that will wash out eventually or I’d be paying to get the colour removed. I asked my colorist and specified in an email that I wanted the original color.I took a break from coloring my hair and wanted the original color. In the email to my colorist I specified that I wanted to go back to the first color that I got from esalon... excited to go back I didnt even look until the dye going in my hair was very dark and didnt look like the first one. I went to my computer and looked and somehow there is pearl added in instead of golden. Easy to use, color was badFirst I ordered the lightest ash brown, and my previous hair was pretty blonde. When I colored my hair it ended up being super dark brown, like espresso brown with red undertones. I was very unhappy, sent notes and photos, and was told it would be corrected. My next color was called dark ash blonde. Same results. Espresso colored brown hair. I don't understand why it is so dark. I've cried both times after I finished dying and drying my hair. Color mismatchI think this was my last attempt with esalon. I ordered a permanent color’Ash medium to dark blonde’. I honestly don’t know where the ash tone was lost. The result is as orange as it could be. I tried to avoid warm colors and now I have it in my full length. I need to go to my colorist to fix this ‘disaster’. Not for meI mixed the product per instructions. After dying my hair, the left-over product exploded and got all over my wall. This product does not work for me. DisappointingI have used home dyes for the past almost 20 years and have never had such a disappointing result. There was not enough dye provided to cover the lengths of my hair despite me filling out the my hair is very long and thick. I tried my best to evenly distribute it, but it just wasn’t enough resulting in a patchy colour. Erreur de couleurBonjour C été ma dernière commande chez vous; j avais demandé a chaque fois de modifier pour être sur quelque chose de plus roux. Sauf que là je suis plutôt dans les tons marron violet ( bcp moins roux que les précédentes...) Les couleurs sont jolies mais c est pas ce que j'ai demandé. Not the color I wantedI'm really frustrated because I thought I was getting a personalized hair color, but instead, it turned out to be just a generic red color you can buy at any store. I specifically chose a copper brown color to complement my hair, but it ended up turning my hair red. What's worse is that it didn't have any effect on my roots – they turned almost black, which is not what I wanted at all. Roots and ends dont match - my hair is purple and redI decided to try esalon as getting my hair done in the salon became too expensive. I sent photographs of my freshly dyed hair and filled out the questionnaire which was great and I was very excited to receive my colour, I had chosen Dark Brown (red/copper). My colour came there was red/brown/copper in my root mix and only red/copper for my end mix and I did a test strand which came out quite red and I was concerned there was no brown in my colour mix. I messaged the support team to express my concerns about the lack of brown. I was reassured that the colour would be okay and decided to give it a go. The result of the colour is that my roots are an unnatural red/purple and my ends are extremely red and I am very upset that it looks nothing like the swatch for dark brown (copper/red) on the website. If you feel you have been losing significantly more than this, you may have had an allergic reaction.
