Can’t get the colour right!!!I asked the colourist to adjust my colour to make my grey dye better as was being turned a sort of beige and fading really quickly. They sent me a message telling me that they had made the change and that my colour would be darker. I immediately replied exclaiming that I did not want darker hair (I have spent over £400 trying to get my black box dye bleached and lightened to a more manageable colour now I have a lot more grey) and got a reply saying they had made the changes and the colour would be deeper. Well, you guessed it. I am back to pretty much black hair. Really disappointed again. Thought we were on the up after my initial teething difficulties. HAIR LOSS IN CLUMPSThis is happening to women of all ages, with or without grey coverage. You say do an allergy test, well there wasn't any redness, no itching, no swelling, nor bumps. How are you supposed to test hair loss if that initial patch did not immediately fall out? The comments state by the second and third order they realized it was your product! Call to cancel plan!I decided not to color my hair after lock down in March, I'm going gray! I chose the turn off my plan on the site named in my confirmation email, I did this 3 times assuming that it would happen. Needless to say, after 3 unwanted shipments, it didn't. I called the customer service phone number and was told that they have no record of my cancelling my plan, they have a 30 day cancellation policy, and I can only get a refund for 1 shipment - the one I received yesterday. Honest ReviewI had highlights that had grown out, wanted to just get to one color and not have harsh roots. The color turned out great. However, my hair felt dry and damaged once I rinsed everything. Opinion first time useThis was the first time I used eSalon color. Smell is stronger than other in home coloring. Thought it was strange that you leave color on roots for typical time but only 5 mins for remaining hair. Hair feels good after coloring however after only two weeks post coloring gray is showing through. Color was a good color but wanted to go a little lighter. it went from 5 to 1 starFirst time needed an adjustment, second time was perfect cover for my gray third time it didn’t cover anything. I was so disappointed with the whole thing. Ruined my hair.It was terrible experience and I really complain about hair colour but this, this crap destroyed my hair and gave med a reaction to the scalp that until today 3 months later still need treatment. And it Coast me about 300 euro to fix the colour at a salong. I'm no newbie in homecolor, I been doing it for 20 + years. Buth this, the smell so strong I toth I put pure ammoniak in my hair, hade to stand outside. Second-round not the charmThe first color I received was okay but not quite what I wanted. My color preference is Auburn. Well it covered the gray, but my hair was too Brown. Color was nice but product has ammoniaDidn’t realize that the product has ammonia in it. I’m not allergic to ammonia but I’m physically sensitive to the smell and the overwhelming noxious fumes on my head triggered anxiety. Luckily I was in a place where I could go outside but if I was indoors, there would be no way I could ever use this stuff. The color of dark brown was beautiful but the experience was horrendous due to ammonia in the product. I will not be using again for that reason alone. Chemical sensitivities are real. I rather pay $50 for at home hair color with no ammonia than $12 with. Maybe I’m not your target customer. But I wanted to try your service. Color turned out the way I totally did't wantThe problem I had at the beginning was that my hair looked dark brown almost black when in the dark but I didn’t like that it hinted reddish tones In the ends when in the light. I expressed this to colorist that I was looking more of a neutral instead of a hint of reddish when in the light. But the color she formulated turned reddish not only in the ends but also on my roots/ grays. The color didn’t work for meMy color turned out kinda copper, sorta brassy. I really really wanted medium ashy violet. It did maintain my old highlights, so that’s really cool! It doesn’t look like you dipped your head in paint, like at home dyes do. It’s the best at home dye I’ve done... Braun statt rotDie Ansatzfarbe mit einem größeren Anteil Braun, hat meine Haare tatsächlich nur braun mit einem rotschimmer gefärbt. Als ich das gesehen habe, nach dem Färben, war ich sehr enttäuscht, dass es nicht die gewünschte Rotfärbung gebracht hatte. In Verbindung mit dem Längenauffrischer, aus der Bestellung davor, der vollständig rot ist, sticht das Braun nicht so heraus aber als Ansatzfarbe allein absolut ungeeignet für eine wirklich rote Haarfarbe. Does not cover gray hairThe color did not cover they gray hair. After one day most of the gray was showing. Week later all the gray was back. This just isn't for me.My first color was too light and the second too dark. I don't like how my hair feels after using this hair color. It was nice of the company to send a new color on them, but it just isn't right for me. My hair feels damaged and I am losing more hair than normal. There must be something in this formula that is too harsh for me. Plus, since so dark, I had to add highlights to bring it up to an acceptable color. The bleach in the highlights is damaging as well. Poor matchMy color was for my roots, and the results were not even close. The color came out brassy, and so light red/blonde color. I am very unhappy with their "color matching." Didn’t match color and didn’t cover graySadly I have to give my color a thumbs down. The color didn’t match at all. My hair is so dark it’s almost black. The dark brown that was used as my color looked more of light to medium brown color. My gray roots didn’t absorb the color either. So, currently I have dark hair with roots that are light. Waste of time &moneyI've been coloring my hair for 20+ years. I've used boxed color, Sally's, & had it professionally done so I consider myself somewhat knowledgeable. Since we've all been on lockdown I took a chance on something new to me & it was the WORST color result I have ever had! I knew going in what color can & can't do. My first clue to what was to come should have been the 15 volume developer they included. Not even my current hairstylist uses that when I go darker. Color was supposed to end up an "ash" blonde. I was hoping to knock out this brassiness. My hair ended up redder than I started! I need a refund so I can get this professionally fixed. Worst color I’ve had in over 20 years of coloring my own hairI’ve been coloring my own hair for at least 20 years and 10 of those were with bleach and toner. My greys are still showing and the previously colored red is the same color, not even a tint difference. The 15 minutes for roots and 10 for tips seemed like very short time exposure for the color. Bright orange from medium ash blondeI ordered medium ash blonde and ended up with vivid orange hair. It was the worst color I've ever used. I've had better results with the $2.97 box color. Never had so much orange with any hair color after 30+ years of coloring my own hair. Definitely my worst hair color purchase ever. $22 down the drain. I spent another $15 on professional toner trying to get the worst of the bright orange out. Questionable serviceReally wanted to love this because of all the good reviews I read, but I can’t say the whole experience is great. I wanted to color my overall hair but they only sent me one bottle for the roots. They say that root touch up is a system default. They quickly fixed this by sending me a second complimentary bottle (which should’ve been in the first shipment) but it took 10+ days to receive. So I’ve had two different colors on my hair this whole time but I waited patiently. Then when I received the second bottle for my length, it is exactly the same formula as the first bottle. Now, my roots were significantly darker than my length, which is very clear in the pictures I sent them. For the color I wanted, my roots would need to be lighter and my length slight darker. If they were the professionals they promised to be, why would the two formulas be exactly the same? At least the second bottle would be a different volume developer. But what do I know? They are the professionals. This whole experience just makes me wonder if someone really looked at my pictures and “customized” the formula? Or is this all just system default? It’s interesting how system default is set to root touch up only. Even though in the questionnaire that wasn’t my answer. I followed the instructions anyways. It came out just ok. Not great, not terrible. But dark brown is such a forgiving color, I doubt things can go terribly wrong. By the way, some reviews mention it doesn’t have a bad smell. Custom but not perfectI do love the amount of color options available and that there are stylists that can make changes. Unfortunately, I have found that I have fading within the first week after dyeing and this dye can dry out my hair more than others. Also, my suggestions to the colorist are not always listened to when changes are made to my color. I have been coloring my hair both in a salon and at home for years and have legitimate insight that I would like taken into account. Color nowhere close to website imageI was really looking forward to this helping even out my hair color and was going for a darker shade of brown than my hair was with some copper. The roots color was supposed to be more medium brown and the ends more of the copper, which the formula showed it was. However, my roots came out lighter with more of the copper tone and my ends came out more ash brown. Hated the colorI gave a photo of my hair including my roots and current color, and clearly explained what I was looking for. The "colorist" gave me a color that was EXACTLY what I was trying to correct in my current color. Now it's a disaster and my hair looks horrible. Extremely Drying Will Never Use AgainI loved the color itself however I will never use the product again. My hair became so very dry and so extremely frizzy within days after using the product! I have naturally curly hair and let it dry naturally, no heat. No matter how I tried to condition it, nothing helped. Customer service was very good, they did send me a conditioner but it did not help at all. Unfortunately I did not cancel the order before the second shipment came. They did not refund me for the second set of color which I did have a chance to cancel but I didn't do it in time,... understandable. So I threw it out. Not Buying Again!My hair was supposed to be much lighter than it was, and now it is darker. I followed the instructions exactly and read them a million times. My hair is now stiff from the middle to the ends and I thought it would work because a lot of people have preferred this site. Not terrible but moving onFor the $10 trial I can’t be too disappointed. I’ve been dying my hair at home for years and usually use another online subscription company. I figured I would give esalon a try for the $10 trial. My first order came damaged, I contacted customer care and was shipped a replacement and received it within a week. This was not a major concern and I was happy with the customer service. I really do like the packaging and instructions. My customized color was a bit too dark for me and was disappointing at first (I’m now getting use to it and quite like it). The major turn off and reason I won’t be continuing with the product is the horrible chemical smell. It’s summer, I have a window air conditioner in my bathroom window and could not ventilate. The really issue came when I rinsed in the shower! I followed the instructions suggesting to fill the dye bottle with water and rinse and scrub through hair for 3 minutes. I had to abort mission, as my eyes and throat began to burn and I started coughing. The chemical smell was over powering. This is something I have not experienced with other boxed dyes.
