So I order the highlights and got the kit, with I more of the brown color, I want to give up on that dark brown color, so again am getting another shipment of brown, after I already ordered my highlights, so I haven't used it yet, I seen the video, so why do I need more brown, after highlights, I felt that there is too many departments that is confusing my orders. Please hold my order,will try the highlights and go from there ok. Thank you

Seriously. Love the color and the results, but the chemical odor and vapor almost triggers an asthma attack. Even in a well-ventilated space, it borders on noxious. Lucky for eSalon, I haven’t found anything comparable that’s less stinky.

Having grey coverage issues. the color remains on the red side for the grey while darkening the area around where color is applied. I do not go over all of hair to avoid this.

I have gray hair in the front area and temples. It only last a week then I have to wait till my next order to reapply color. I prefer not to over process my hair. I like the color suggestion. I am open to all color selection. Not sure if I can go light also my hair is now more thick. Better yet extra naturally/kinky. Pls help

Not a deal breaker because I love the lasting color and the beautiful custom packaging but really I spend a lot of time in the shower to get the color out and be able to see my scalp! That's the only thing that's a little frustrating. Otherwise beautiful luscious and rich color and that's what matters right? 🙂

The first time I ordered the color was definetly not a match. They sent me a replacement for free plus an additional bottle of color. This color was a better match. The only complaint is I wish they had sent two boxes of gloves (one for this time and one for the next time). Other than that it’s a great product!

I am so pleased with eSalon. I have tried so many at home hair dye, and the color is either not what you want, hard to cover grays, color doesn't last as long as it claims. Hair feels brittle and damaged. I used to have to color every 4 weeks almost. And just never happy with outcome.
I tried eSalon for the first time and i could not believe the outcome! The color was exactly what i wanted, it has lasted over 6 weeks now, it covered all my hair. The best part was my hair felt healthy after, not dry. And there was no lingering odor from the dye. I will continue to use this product! So very happy.

I love how the process doesn't damage my hair. My hair feels soft when done. The only issue I have is that reds must be done more frequently because they fade faster than any other shade.

So this is my 3rd time coloring with Esalon, the color was better this time, not too dark but I’ve noticed that the last time and this time the products have made my hair extremely greasy. Especially at the crown. Is this normal? I haven’t changed any of my other hair products.

I have been trying to get the right color. I have changed it several times.The colorist has tried to do as I ask but when my hair is in the sun it looks very red, which I do not like.

I love your product. Have used it for about 2 years now. You recently changed the bottle that the color concentrate ships in. It is very hard to open. There is no hand grips on the bottle lid and no barrier between the concentrate and the lid. This allows for the concentrate to leak out some and seals the lid on tighter. However, it also makes it almost impossible to get off. The last two times I have received my order. My husband has had to use pliers to open the bottle for me. This has caused the lid to break. He now knows to be careful not to spill any so as not to stain things. The old bottle at least had a barrier to help prevent the solution from leaking out. Please do something to fix this problem.

The new packaging doesn't open easily, the tear line isn't down far enough to allow the product to flow easily. I had to use scissors and didn't think to take a pair into the shower. With wet hands it is difficult to open things, I ended up using my teeth!!

I'd been trying to colour my greys for ages, only to find them shining back through after 1-2 washes, soooo frustrating! The esalon dye is perfect and is the only stuff I've found that works - what a god-send!!! Also, once you've done it the first time, doing the roots is a piece of cake. I'll never go back to over the counter dyes ☺️

Colors well on stubborn grays on temples if I leave on temples longer. Boy is this color hard to rinse out, though. Used the tip of adding water and massaging and it worked better, but hair still feels a little mucky for at least one more shampoo.

Overall this is great service and I love the customization they offer and great customer service. The packaging is nice and it comes with everything you need! I was not in love with my color so I only gave it 4 stars. The grey coverage could of been a bit better for me, and the tone was nice but not quite what I had in mind

The color itself was exactly what I wanted & covered my roots nearly perfectly. The only problem is it left my hair extremely gunky/ waxy! Is that typical? Is there a way to prevent that?

Admittedly I was a bit apprehensive at first. I didn't think the system would work without person to person contact. Then when I actually used the product I was really scared. My scalp looked like Flamin' Hot Cheetoes. I answered all profile questions accurately and yet my color is now dark blackish brown. I asked to lighten my brown and add a hint of red. As is a choice in the selection chart. Once washed, my scalp was no longer that flaming red color and roots actually blended. I was happy about that. However, the rest of my hair is now a DARK Blackish Brown. For 7 months my hairdresser & I have been gradually trying to lighten my hair. All that time and money was a waste. My hair is now darker than its ever been. Before this it was a dark brown, never has my hair been blackish brown. Maybe its my fault, but I hope this can be rectified in some way. I've referred both of my sisters but I'm now afraid to show them the results.

First I have to say the smell is very very strong and I could not stay in my bathroom to complete the application. Seriously.. I think u need to do something about that. I’m surprised not to see many comments about the odor. I already had a light Auburn in my hair so I did my roots and whole head. The color is deeper than I wanted but that could be because of the red already in my hair. I think it will lighten up with washes but very pretty. Excellent packaging. Quality product and actually a full bottle of product when mixed. The gloves are also well fitted like a second skin. Very easy to apply product with. I will continue to review as I do my root touch ups.

I use red hair color but my hair does not hold color the red always fades within a few weeks. I am quite happy with this hair color. The red seems to hold and with the tint shampoo I use for a little kick just before it is time to color again. My only wish is that there was slightly more color in the bottle as I have exstreamly thick hair.

I actually loved the color a lot. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because my hair felt greasy and sticky for at least three days after, despite numerous washes. I think it was from the 2nd bottle they provided that was used midway to the ends, because my roots did not have the same issue. I will purchase again, just probably not use that 2nd bottle.

I have to say that after first i liked this product and then it seem to stop covering gray and the color was not exact for me, then I called and talked to a colorist and she tweeked my color and I have to say it's perfect!

I love the hair color mix but would like to continue to get the same color so i made it permanent but i wanted to change the color just a bit and the request wasn’t filled. But otherwise i would recommend this just hard to change the color of you wanted to change up

I got the color matte ash dark brown. I like having ashy/cool hair and don't like any red in my brown hair. It turned out pretty good! I was hoping it was going to be a little more ashy though. My color still has quite a bit of red coming through, especially on my roots. But other than that, it turned out a nice, shiny color. I loved the boxing, everything was beautiful. The only thing I did not like was that the dye is hard to wash out and it leaves a sticky film around your roots area. But overall a good product!

The color is good and provided good coverage. I only wish it lasted longer. They gray around my hairline seems to come back quickly, within a week. The last time it seemed to last longer. Not sure what I did wrong but I’m pretty sure it’s my fault. Lol. I believe I need to change it up a little and get a litghter tint.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the first time I tried it the grey coverage wasn't as good as I had hoped. On my second order they are addressing that and I will do an update as soon as I get it. Other than that the color was absolutely perfect and matched way better than anything I've ever tried before. All I can say is awesome.

The color match was great, but the texture of my hair afterwards was waxy/sticky feeling, even after washing it out 4 times. I want soft hair, not sticky waxy hair. Felt like a cheap wig. Hope it will soften up after another washing or two. Please fix this issue. I won’t purchase again until that issue is resolved. At least it covered my greys.

I decided to give this product a try because my efforts lately have been disappointing. Unfortunately, this hair color didnt look much different than the cheaper stuff. I've been really blond my entire life and I really hate that the next color my hair should be is thus ugly, kind of, non color. When I used this product, it was too dark at first then it was too red. I think I need to go back to a lighter blond, without looking like my hair color came from a bottle and I have no idea how to do that.
UPDATE- eSalon reworked my hair color and this time it was awesome! Love it! Thank you so much for being so patient and kind and for working so hard to turn my hair coloring experience into an amazing one. You guys are the greatest and I would give you 10 stars!

I loved my results but still had some issues with Grey full coverage. Especially around the crown. Made sure it was fully saturated but sit did not fully cover grey.

I still love the color. Although this last package was damaged. Rubber bands on it to hold it together. Color had leaked but still useable. I am enjoying the color very much.

The color didn't seem to color the gray very well. There;s color sitting on top, like a glaze, but it just didn't stick to the gray so I think it's back to the colorist. Definitiely, talk to them if you don't like the color you have. I asked them to take out a 1/4 of the red and bring it closer to the browns. I got exactly the color I wanted. Unfortunately, there's this one problem which I know just takes some more tweaking or a different procedure. They'll help before the next order.

It only has a 4 star for now because we are working on changing the color to cover the red pigments. But other than that, I love it! Easy to understand directions, no harsh smell and to me, easier than the store box.

the color was great.and it lasted a good long time.....what I would like is less product for a root touch up.....I have very short hair and it seemed like a threw away a good portion of the product.....how about offering a smaller amt of product for less cost so we with really short hair can maintain the super color.....without feeling like we are wasting $ by flushing it down the drain......I know I sound like a whiner but I really loved the color and quality results but spent $ for too much product......I guess I could half the mix on my own.....would this work ????

“Change is good” and this change was good but shocking. I went from light blonde with streaks to a much darker reddish tinted dark brown with out streaks. I have had positive feedback and feel more sophisticated which at age 55 is a good thing. I do however live in an area where there are very few blondes and I miss the individuality of being unique. I think if there was a way to lighten it a little or add some highlights, lowlights, or anything at all unique I would love to try. Overall, I was very impressed with the original kit that made sure my brown roots were changed so that the second color would be successful as well. Overall very impressed.

I'm a natural redhead and when you are standing at the store looking at hair color and you see rows of boxes dedicated to blonde shades and maybe two or three for red (usually shoved in with the browns), it's a bit frustrating. (But, hey we are only about 2% of the world population so I get it.) When I found eSalon my first thought was it would be a great in-between appointments option as I have long hair and was paying $250-300 a shot to get my hair matched to my natural color to hide the white (redheads don't go grey). I wanted to save some $$ but never thought I could get the same quality color that I was getting at my high end salon. I WAS WRONG!!!! I now use eSalon exclusively and love it! I occasionally go to one of those inexpensive haircut places to get a trim and last time I went the stylist said, "I absolutely love your hair color, where did you get it done?" What more could you ask for in a hair color? This redhead loves eSalon!!!!

So Icoloredmy hair last night. I used thecolorlocking conditioner which Ihad not used in the past. My hair is sticky waxy and looks wet. I washed it 4 different times to no avail and the product was still a mess on my hair. currently I am at the salon having a Malibu treatment to try and restore s normal texture. Why !!! Why??? Love this product! The shine last so long.

I liked the color. Though it was a little darker than I was expecting. But when I went to wash it out of my hair, it had a tacky/gummy feeling. Even after washing twice. Why?
