Not quite what I asked for.I LOVED the color I got the first time. I tried asking for that color back, but because I needed to change the folor of the roots to a little bit of darker color they told me they had to change the ends as well. I do not understand that! Horrible doesn’t even describe itI took the quiz and told the company I have blonde hair with some brassy pieces I wanted to LIGHTEN. I received dark brown hair color and have completely messed up my hair. I don’t understand how they could get it so wrong. Not at all what I asked forWay too dark, way too brown, doesn't look at all like the photo I sent my "stylist" (which btw you don't get a designated person. I replied to the email sent by my alleged stylist, and someone else entirely replied, because it's just a Zendesk ticketing system of random support employees who probably have no experience in hair color at all). Beware of eSalon's Poor Customer Service and Misleading PracticesI must express my extreme disappointment with eSalon's subscription service. After deciding to try their color plan, I quickly realized it wasn't for me and promptly requested a cancellation before the next charge. Despite this, I was still charged for an unwanted order, and the second shipment was on its way. I reached out to their customer service, expecting a straightforward resolution, but their response was utterly unacceptable. Not only did they fail to acknowledge their mistake, but they also didn't provide any assurance that my returned item was received or processed for a refund. eSalon's so-called "Color Care Team" offered no sympathy for their error, instead suggesting I keep the unopened color for an indefinite period. Why should I keep something I never wanted in the first place? The worst part is their slow refund process, claiming it may take up to 10 days after receiving the return to issue the refund. This is an outrageous delay for an item I never ordered and returned promptly. I'm deeply dissatisfied with eSalon's lack of accountability, misleading practices, and disregard for their customers' time and money. Their customer service has proven to be unhelpful and unresponsive, making me regret ever trying their service. I strongly advise potential customers to steer clear of eSalon's subscription service, as they do not value their customers' satisfaction and employ questionable business practices. It's a no for meAfter being a longtime subscriber to a different at-home color service I decided to compare. I loved the packaging and the cute little touches, such as the sticker to hang up the directions. The directions however were confusing, the color smelled awful and the process was messy. "Dumping the color bowl" over my head in the shower was strange and made a huge mess. The bottom line was my grays did not get covered at all and the overall color was blah. Great color - NOT permanent!!!The color was initially spot on!! 3-4 weeks later my hair was exactly the same color I started with. Website makes it impossible to cancel plan all togetherAmazon just got sued for making it too difficult to cancel membership. Your website does not have any clear instructions or place to cancel membership altogether and I’m going to file a better business bureau report for this. AwfulWhen I dye my hair I don't want to read a book I want step 1 step 2 ect. Then i tried to read and needed a magnifying glass I read and read to see how long to leave the dye on hair and never found it then I opened the wipe to get off excess and it left white foam so I didn't know what was color and what wasn't so I used my own Seabreeze and why would you waste time with a "let me hold that sticker". I'm going right in the middleI am only one day in but basing my reviews on my initial reaction. My first observation....MESSY. the third process is sooooo messy. i stood in the white shower, pouring the water filled leftovers on my head and kept looking around at all the red dye that was going everywhere in the shower. the walls, the knobs, the shelves, the foor. it almost gave me so much anxiety wondering if it was going to come out. Phew, it did tho. That's nice to know if ever use it again. Second observation....after using Overtone for years, the smell of E salon was overwhelming....at points, it made me tear up bc the ammonia was so strong. Makes me question what i just put in my hair. Third observation, the color is very dull and my roots came out a lot lighter than my hair. I'm the type of person that can pretty much roll with anything....i've been almost every color, every length. Beware that you're signing up for a continuing subscriptionI ordered the custom care kit but changed my mind about coloring my hair myself. Since I asked for the kit to be custom-made for me I didn't pursue getting a refund. I had no idea that I had signed up for a continuing subscription until I received a second coloring kit in the mail and saw that it had been charged to my bank account. When I called eSalon to explain that I was not aware that I was signing up for a continuing subscription, the agent told me to take the kit to the post office, mark the package refused, and it would be returned to eSalon and I would get my refund. That sounded kind of sketchy to me but I didn't think I had any alternative but to followed those directions. Well, when I tracked the package today I learned that the post office had disposed of the package, that it couldn't be delivered to or wasn't accepted by eSalon. Color is beautiful, but not meant for me.I sent in pictures of the color I used to have, which was not achieved by highlights nor stripping, simple dye (I could not figure out or remember what color I used). Along with current photo. I wound up with dark hair, I imagine they looked at my roots only. I’m back to square one, and color does not fit complexion which makes skin more ruddy and aged looking. Didn't turn out like advertisedI used both bottles and the color was not as pictured and I followed directions to the "T". I even left the color on a little longer than it said. Now my hair is unbelievably dry and brittle and I can barely get a brush through it. 10 more minutes isn't going to ruin it like that. Nice presentation but not the results I wantedGood price, presentation etc. however my hair was 2 colors (dark brown from the top but lighter about halfway down) because I dyed it previously and left the roots to grow out for ages. Anyway, I wanted my hair to be dark brown and I added pics/explanation that I wanted my hair to be one color all over. Hair color was not what I wanted. Not even close.This hair color was supposed to be a blond color, a correction after they messed up the first time and just copied my natural red hair color. Again, wrong color. No blonde, just the same red hair coloring. I don't think this company should be in business. They don't listen to you, accuse you of lying then say they'll make it right and do it all over again. Please don't waste your money here. Blaugrüne Haare, viel zu dunkelLeider ist das Ergebnis kein bisschen wie erwartet, bestellt war ein aschiges Dunkelblond und geliefert wurde aschiges Hellbraun. Ich habe nach der durch e-salon geänderten Farbwahl noch einmal telefonisch nachgefragt, ob das wirklich eine gute Idee ist, aber es wurde mir so versichert. Bei der Versprechung einer individuellen Beratung stelle ich mir vor, dass ein Profi mir sagt, das bei meinem vorherigen Gelbblond das Färben mit einer Farbe, die blau enthält, keine gute Idee ist, weil sie dann grünlich wird, das ist eigentlich sehr einfach. Still not my colourThank you for taking the time to try and match my hair colour. I’ve left reviewing the last purchase to see how it turns out first. Sadly, my hair is still very red, bordering on orange. From previous experience I know this will be difficult to get rid of so I am cancelling all future orders so my hair can get a chance to grow out. Custom Color SetI am not sure why it came out really brassy right after I applied. I was late in dying my hair waited a month after I received my shipment. Did it expire on me? Did not contain hair colorI will be returning this shipment tomorrow for several reasons. The color was not in the box and Im pretty sure that I removed the shampoo/conditioner off of the auto ship. And the price of $54 uuhh yeah NO! A huge NO! I understand the price but if what was included in the box was correct I won't be coloring my hair no more. I realize that it kinda late as I just opened the box today. Sometimes life gets busy. I was so surprised at the way the product were just thrown in the box. Huge difference from the 1st shipment that was put together with care. I was going to color my hair tonight however that will have to wait for obvious reasons. This review is in no way reflective of my 1st use of esalon. Only for the May 25 shipment for reasons as stated above. I tried to leave a review for Mar shipment it was not offered. Didn’t workI decided to try e-Salon again. I wrote the hairstylist about my first experience (my hair having an orange tint to it). She explained that she changed the product for me. I did EXACTLY what the directions said to do and yet my hair had the orange highlights again. Devastated, I had to go get my hair foxed the next day. Terrible productI'm sure this review won't make their site! I've never had my hair feel so dry while dying my hair! The colour and texture is like TAR!!! thick black tar! Got all over everything! Stained my neck my back, my shoulders! Yes I used the skin protector but you can't use it on your whole body!!! It covered greys VERY well! But I'm assuming that's because it's so full of chemicals seeing as how damaging it is! And the smell burned my nose (literally) and burned my eyes! I have very sensitive damaged hair and now I'm afraid when I wash this out my hair will all fall out and be like straw! Please don't buy this stuff! The reviews must be fake, or it might be ok for different colour hair, and if you don't have greys and don't have to dye your hair often...but if you do dye your hair often and have dry, damaged hair, there's better and CHEAPER products than this! I was right all my hair was coming out in big chunks and handfuls!!! And after I washed the tar out....which took forever btw! I have never seen the water so thick and brown and not coming out no matter how much you rinse!!! And I washed, and conditioned...AND GET THIS.....My scalp was still black on both sides!!!!! I wish I could add a picture to this review! I took a wet wipe and wiped the hair dye off (this is after about 6 minutes of rinsing, washing and letting conditioner sit, and rinsing again) anyway it looked like when you take a paper towel and check the oil in your car...except it's thick tarry black!!!!!! I can't believe this!!!! My $8-$10 boxed dye is WAAAAYYYY better than this!! And they are charging $35????? For a huge f***ing mess, frustration, anger and completely DESTROYING your hair!!!!!!!! My hair was already thin...I COULDNT afford to lose THAT MUCH HAIR!!! Thanks E-salon for ruining my hair and making my life hell!!!!! I'll do anything to make sure people don't buy this! changed formulathis used to be great. what happened? Now it is watery and not enough for one bottle to do my hair. Lucky I ordered a second set by mistake. please change the formula back to original or check your manufacturer. Also gloves were too small and difficult to get on. Unnatural, uneven neon red.I have been dying my hair for almost half a year with eSalon and I have never once gotten the colour I desired. Every colour was so far from what I was requesting, up until my last that was a neon red when I asked for a red copper. The root colour was not even close to the ends colour so my entire head is different colours everywhere. I have dyed my own hair for over 15 years, so it is not a technique issue. I am humiliated at work and trying my best to hide it. I will be spending even more money on a colour remover and then just going to a real salon to get it fixed. Red Result, Poor Customer ServiceAfter a year of fantastic results with this high-quality dye, I requested an adjustment to make the shade a darker blonde for the fall and winter. Instead, my hair turned red. This continued for the next three boxes until a representative finally contacted me. In the email, I was told that the permanent dye was bringing out the red tones in my hair--I don't know why it took three sequential boxes with my feedback saying, "It's still too red; I don't want any red tones" before it dawned on the team to recommend a switch to a demi-permanent. Regardless, the permanent colour does not seem to be chief culprit as the demi-permanent also made my hair redder. Didn’t last…While the color was perfect and this was my 2nd try, it just doesn’t cover my grays. Even from the get go, they are there and within 3-4 days they are back out shining in all their glory. Schlechte GrauhaarabdeckunzIch bin sehr enttäuscht. Die Farbe hat meine Grauen Haare null abgedeckt und die Farbintensität ist nicht zufriedenstellend. Da kann meine alte Haarfarbe von der Drogerie wesentlich bessere Ergebnisse erzielen. Für das Geld bin ich sehr unzufrieden und enttäuscht. Still can’t get it right!!I’ve sent pictures, and was specific “I want intense copper”. Their first attempt left my hair looking like a terrible kool aid dye job! It was a faded red and so fake. I ended up using a copper clenditioner to try and restore my hair to its rightful color. Their second attempt has left me with dark red/copper hair. Again, how can they screw this up so badly?! I tried leaving messages, I even left an image of the color I wanted. I like the kit, I like the shampoo and conditioner, and I really like the zero ammonia, though upset it took them till my second kit to remember I wanted only 10% developer; I’m doing a color deposit not a lift and tint! Not sure I want to allow them a third try given you don’t speak with a colorist directly, you play email tag and have to hope for the best. Horrible hair color!I have been coloring my own hair for over 10 years, with no issues. I decided to try this product, & I’m so disappointed. Literally, after 5 days, you couldn’t even tell I’d colored my hair! Even initially, my roots didn’t get colored well, & the root color was drastically different than the base color provided.
